Sheaorlis son of Huuth
The inquisitor raises an eyebrow and crosses his arms as he sees Guruthos dragging the corpse and doing what seemed to be a purification ritual on the corpse. Not pleased with what he saw he follows the rest of the group Sheaorlis leaves the corpse behind with all the items untouched.
"Wouldn't it be better to light it ourselves and let the flames die out before setting foot on this trap?" The inquisitor murmured from behind.
Guruthos
Clarification: is the oil in the hallway to the northern room, or the West? I thought we were checking the northern room so that would make sense, but not sure where we'd go "through."
Guruthos looks around to see if there's something that would ignite the oil.
trapception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
GM Eldbale of Evergale
The Path heading north is blocked by a gate. Nighttail ordered that everyone move past there, as it was the Cave of the Future, where the unhatched kobolds are kept. She said that those guarding that room have no loyalty except to the future of the tribe. The oil begins in the darkened part of the tunnel, to the west, which then bends north. If no one enters that tunnel, then they do not anything that would ignite the oil. The space you all are currently standing in is completely safe.
Urchin Stone
”I am not going down that tunnel we were warned off from, but this one does present a problem. I can create water. I can douse us and or our blankets. We could lay the blankets down like tracks and get through here I would guess?”
The Cleric offers hoping to be helpful.
Guruthos
Though he is absolutely certain he will regret doing so, the masked elf turns away from the northern tunnel and heads west. Choosing to look for traps rather than remain stealthy, he grumbles a few words and causes a nearby stone to radiate with magical light. He picks up the stone and tosses it about 10 feet ahead of him, and cautiously searches for the trigger to the trap he is certain he is walking into.
Do I need to keep rolling trapception?
Thomas 'Bellmanok' Riverdancer
"Everything ok with you guys in the front? I really don't know what you're doing. Everything's clear back here." Thomas shouts from the back.
GM Eldbale of Evergale
Guruthos, you carefully approach the glowing stone and pick it up. You are now at the corner of this blackened tunnel.
Holding up the small light source, you notice that the tunnel bends to your left (west) about 15 or 20 feet ahead of you. The light also catches on something fine that spans the width of this tunnel.
Do you toss your lit rock towards whatever it is, or slowly approach?
Hanzo Belkin
Hanzo winced at Thomas' shout. He was more a sneak-up-and-stab kinda guy than the kind who rushed in after announcing he was there to kick ass and eat grandma's apple pie, of which there wasn't any more.
He eyed Stone sidelong. I wonder what kind of guy he is now? Man, time sure changes things, he thought.
"I'd help, Guru, but it looks awful dark down there."
GM Eldbale of Evergale
Guruthos, towards the northern end of the ominous tunnel, witnesses as the light from his stone catches on hair-thin strands that span from one wall to another. They’re a series of trip lines that trigger some sort of trap. Due to the tunnel’s low height, the bent-over elf hadn’t thought to check the ceiling yet. Looking up you notice several vials of Alchemist Fire. You are able to safely collect them and inform your party that the hallway is now safe.
Guruthos
The masked elf breaths a sigh of relief as the removes the last of the vials. Still not convinced there isn't a second trap, he looks around carefully to make it is safe. When he is confident, he returns to the party and waves them forward.
whew! How many are we able to collect?
GM Eldbale of Evergale
Roaghaz casts Mage Armor.
At the top of the rough-hewn steps is a large cave, the floor strewn with fresh straw. The bones of many different creatures, animal and humanoid both, hang on the walls. Two boulders bisect the cave, obscuring what the other half holds. A kobold dressed in a purple robe, emerges from behind one of the boulders. It does not seem surprised to see intruders.
"You think you can trespass in the lair of the Blood Vow Tribe with impunity? I am Roaghaz, and I serve the great Lord Aeteperax! He rewards his supplicants for ferocity and faithfulness. We shall add your bones to those hanging on these walls, and our great lord shall sup on your flesh! And Nighttail!! No torture this time! I've tired of the spectacle. You will face a swift and shameful death!"
4 kobold guards enter from and are poised to attack!

Hanzo had been pleased to get the alchemists' fire, and even more pleased that a ton of it hadn't been dumped on him.
Now he put it to use.
Lobbing alchemists' fire at the purple kobold, hopefully splash will get 3 of the others. If he's too far away, orange gets it instead. Then Hanzo will move out of the way of the rest of the party.

Hanzo lobs one of his newly acquired alchemist's fires at the kobold brute heading the pack, but has to throw it side-armed instead of a proper throw, due to the cramped space. The volatile mixture shatters just to the right of his target. The splash damage from the explosion singes two of the guards.
Stone offers a brief word of prayer and encouragement, placing his hand on the masked elf's shoulder in front of him. He then moves up and over, so as to unclog the funnel where he felt like a sitting duck.
Stone casts Guidance on Guruthos
Nighttail bellows back at the kobold chieftain, "I only ever staged my many coups because you're a moronic, incompetent chief who persuades his tribe to believe in fairytales! But after what you did to me, and how you attempted to humiliate me, it's personal! The sound of your scales breaking between Hak's jaws will be the sweetest music I'll have ever heard!"
After her impassioned speech, however, she remains where she is at the back of the group.

Sheaorlis charges at the nearest enemy, but was slightly off-balance in the cramped space, and his ax misses its target; but only slightly.
Roaghaz draws a thin wooden stick from within the sleeve of his robes, points it towards the traitorous scum Nighttail and her pet, speaks a word with a evil smirk, and unleashes her spell.
Strands of strong, sticky webbing materialize out of thin air, attaching themselves wall to wall and floor-to-ceiling!
The blue webbing is the target point. I placed the webs based on my interpretation of the spell description, which I will post. But I've done what seemed correct to me, and I'm sticking with it...
Sheaorlis, Thomas, Joriannika, and Guruthos all need to make a Reflex save, DC 13, or gained grappled condition. Even if you succeed, anyone who attempts to move through webbing must succeed at a combat maneuver check or Escape Artist check against the spell DC. All web squares are difficult terrain
Range medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)
Effect webs in a 20-ft.-radius spread
Duration 10 min./level (D)
Saving Throw Reflex negates; see text; Spell Resistance noDESCRIPTION
Web creates a many-layered mass of strong, sticky strands. These strands trap those caught in them. The strands are similar to spiderwebs but far larger and tougher. These masses must be anchored to two or more solid and diametrically opposed points or else the web collapses upon itself and disappears. Creatures caught within a web become grappled by the sticky fibers. Attacking a creature in a web doesn’t cause you to become grappled.
Anyone in the effect’s area when the spell is cast must make a Reflex save. If this save succeeds, the creature is inside the web but is otherwise unaffected. If the save fails, the creature gains the grappled condition, but can break free by making a combat maneuver check or Escape Artist check as a standard action against the DC of this spell. The entire area of the web is considered difficult terrain. Anyone moving through the webs must make a combat maneuver check or Escape Artist check as part of their move action, with a DC equal to the spell’s DC. Creatures that fail lose their movement and become grappled in the first square of webbing that they enter.
If you have at least 5 feet of web between you and an opponent, it provides cover. If you have at least 20 feet of web between you, it provides total cover.

Hanzo, Thomas, Stone // Nighttail // Guruthos, Sheaorlis // Roaghaz // Kobolds // Joriannika, Hak
The four guards advance on the party, eager to make Nighttail pay. Since they can't currently get to her, they focus their bloodlust on those closest to them. One attacks Stone, another Hanzo, and the other two both go after the sticky half-orc Sheaorlis.

Jori's bomb nearly manages to make it through all the webbing, but it snags momentarily on one of the final strands, bouncing it up into the ceiling, between Sheaorlis and the two kobolds that were attacking him, exploding and causing several things to occur, all of them horrific.
The two guards absorb most of the splash damage, in fact one is barely left standing, while Sheaorlis, though amidst all the webbing, is strong enough to twist and cover himself, resulting in some minor singeing. However...the flames from the explosion have also set the webs on fire! Sheaorlis is unable to avoid those flames as they start to spread!
From the bomb, Sheaorlis takes 2 points of fire damage, and the kobolds take 4. Sheaorlis takes 5 additional pts from the burning webs. But he will not be stuck next rd.

Thomas, eyes aglow, maneuvers through the webbing without seeming to give it much thought. Indeed he has left rationale behind in exchange for pure fury. He brings down his sword like swift, terrible judgment on the poor kobold, smashing it into the earthy cave-floor, now a crumpled, broken body.
Hanzo, sliding around behind the green kobold, prepares to strike just as Thomas takes the target down. Adjusting quickly, the rogue refocuses onto the next guard and plunges his mithral dagger into its neck. It barks in pain. Its eyes flutter a moment. It collapses. The swipe of his second dagger looks a bit like a clumsier attack, at first; as if Hanzo wasn't sure if he'd really need to swing that arm or not. But he turns the motion into a nice flourish of dagger-work.
(Hanzo, I redirected your attack to Red instead).
Stone, in a voice as militaristic as it usually is, orates a word of inspiration and strength to his closest ally, Sheaorlis.
Nighttail is able to break free from the webbing. Rather than rushing her carnivore companion into anything too reckless, she places a hand on the crown of Hak's head, mutters something, and a warm orange glow emanates momentarily from beneath her hand.
She casts Resist Energy (fire) on Hak.
