MAP TEMPLATES | Social Combat | War for the Crown | Campaign Tracker |

The party finds that their combat was loud enough to scare off the rest of the inhabitants, including the door guards. With the threat of violence or discovery abated, it's far easier to search the Deepmarket stronghold.

You find some valuables here and there. (All on the impending chronicle.) Like many missions, however, the real treasure is in the information obtained.

Tseka herself provides little. Though captured, she seems FAR more frightened by someone named Marnarius than anything you threaten her with. Nevertheless, your recovery of her papers provides plenty.

You find Tseka's silver Aspis badge wrapped in an admonishing letter.

DC 15 Knowledge (local):

A. X. Adrius is the public face of the Aspis consortium’s leadership, and that he shares power with the consortium’s anonymous shadowy board of patrons.

You also find a Gold Badge, but like the previous bronze, it's a forgery.

Finally, you find an unsent missive

As you search the compound, Yrishi returns "I saw everyone fleeing, but I didn't see you! I'm so glad you're all okay! Wow. This is impressive! I might have to stick around!"

Tseka agrees to come quietly after Caerynn's ...painted picture. She doesn't offer up anything new, but she really doesn't need to.

What now?

Will grabs both badges. These may come in handy...

"So, this Adrius is not happy, and he seems to be in charge. But if she is frightened by this Marnarius, this letter she was sending sounds a bit bold. Anyway, it looks like we are clear to take her out of here, so let's get on with it."

MAP TEMPLATES | Social Combat | War for the Crown | Campaign Tracker |

Feel free to do whatever you'd like here. Yrishi also speaks up, "There's a way out of here that keeps us on the quiet. I can get us back to the lodge."

As we RP to the denouement, I'll get chronicles ready tonight.

"Indeed. These documents paint a picture of a fragmented Aspis. The Society could take advantage of this, I think." Ragnar helps gather the documents and follows the pipe-fox's lead.

Simon is of little help in this situation, unless eating dirt helps. Fortunately, he is light and easy to carry.

You said there was a spellbook and potentially some scrolls. I would love to know what's in the spellbook or on the scrolls before you get me the chronicle. :)

Ragnar, I also have my current spellbook in my profile if you would like to copy anything.

2nd—darkness, darkvision, fire breath (only non-core spell), mirror image
1st—burning hands, mage armor, magic missile,
shocking grasp

HP 27/27; AC 10, T 10, FF 10; F+4, R+2, W+6, +2 if spell/SLA; Perc +1, Init +0, CMD 13 (17 vs trip or bull rush)

Ho yeah!

Spellcraft, burning hands vs DC 16: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
Spellcraft, fire breath vs DC 17: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30

So, the cost is 10 gp plus 40 gp for a total of 50 gp? Paid!

Sovereign Court

FYI, you can take 10 on spellcraft to copy a spell, so it's typically incredibly easy for a wizard to copy.

I'll take Detect Undead, Shocking Grasp, and Spectral Hand from Ragnar.

I'll take Darkness, Darkvision, and Fire Breath from the enemy wizard.

Total gold spent: 180 gp

great game all had a lot of fun with this one

Caerwynn takes her cudgel to anything and everything that doesn't look valuable and movable. While she does so, she plies the former Aspis agents with questions: "What's in the room down the hall? What about the room in the middle of the base? When did you all develop the fungus problem?" She'd want to check out the other rooms, too, if we can.

Once they've finished with the base, Caerwynn invites Yrishi to climb onto her shoulder for the duration of the trip home. She does try to move quickly, though, as she's a little worried about Simon.

Once returned to the Lantern Lodge, she first seeks medical attention for the gnome then immediately reports to Amara Li to deliver the captured documents, discuss the new recruits, and offer any further insights. "Do pay particular attention to these papers here, they have smell codes embedded into them. I wasn't able to decipher them in the field, but perhaps another agent can do better than me."

Thanks everyone, this was a fun time. A little hairy at the end there but glad we pulled it off.

Great game! Thanks for the run!

MAP TEMPLATES | Social Combat | War for the Crown | Campaign Tracker |

Thanks guys! I enjoyed it. I'll report and get chronicles out by the end of the day.

You do find what's left of a temple, the circular room. The walls of this circular room are covered in painted scenes of fear and torment. The stone ceiling rises in a craggy dome that is haphazardly carved with disembodied eyes, talons, fangs, and other monstrous features. In the center of the room, rusty brown stains run down from a circular dais, which holds a stained marble bowl and a collection of rusty daggers. A jagged black rune covers up most of the floor. Tattered and moldy bedrolls are pushed into the corners of the room.

Yrishi isn't exaggerating. The guide you befriended finds you a private way back to Amara Li. Truly, you've found a new friend.

Amara Li praises your skill and ingenuity and moves the ratfolk to a secure location for interrogation. "Did you find out anything else agents?"

Amara Li listens with a warm smile, "It is always a pleasure to work with Pathfinders from different parts of the world. Please convey my gratitude to the Grand Lodge, and let the Masters know that Tian Xia will always welcome the Society. I hope that we meet again someday.”

Any former Lantern Lodge members:

"The Lantern Lodge thanks you for all you've done. we continue to grow in no small thanks to you."
