Artemis notes the cold eminating from across the way.

"We had best steer clear of that, but let's remember where it is in case we want later to trap some more dogs in it."

Can we go around it?"

"Anyone know about such things?"

Koross frowns as he realizes Artemis was correct, the cold was emanating from the mold.

Holding his hand out, he flexed his fingers as they became cold, as if he were training in the monestary courtyard on a winters day.

"I know naught of this , but you're caution is wise, Artemis. This could be deadly to the unwary."

Skirting the edge of the cold, Koross sees how far he can advance before having to turn back.

Gnobby stays away. He tries to find a way around that is warm.

Erwin staying far away from the mold and following lead of the more experienced adventurers "Well, I guess that one is definetely no "do-not-go-near". Hopefully we will find something worthy here." speaking out his mind as he carefully watches around


"Aye we work out way around and try and keep the burning torch away as well, heat might draw it if it can think or feed at all."

Shrugs....

"But I have never seen anything like it in even the darkest of the woods"

Artemis thinks back to his earliest memories, was it a cold hand that laid him where he was found or was it something else entirely....


You can't even skirt the edges... the temperature drops so significantly within 10 feet of it that you fear actual damage could happen if you get any closer. The mold extends all the way from the alcove to beyond the east doorway making it near impassable without considerable risk.

The western room is unblocked, and there is a small stone door in the back wall of the room from the entrance.

Koross snatches his hand back as he quickly loses sensation in his finger tips.

Rubbing the warmth back into his frigid digits, he backs away from the aura of cold.

"This barrier may need us to do further research to pass it. The other way is unblocked, let us investigate..." he says, making his way westward toward the stone door.


"I am not sure I would risk this even coated in a thick layer of whale blubber or other materials."

Sorry for the absence had an issue with my old account and real life.
Than looks at the mold and thinks to himself Is this the mold under the influence of anything that I should remember? Then Than looks over at Koross I agree if we can pass this maybe the other way is better.
Than pours a little water on the mold/coldness to see what else is happing with it.


"Take caution, though it lies in wait it may have some means of reaching out and enveloping that which seems out of reach. Like the spores of a puffball that pass harmless underfoot."

"Um, I have no idea. what are supposed to do now? Should we go back and try another colour? We could come here later, when we are done with other stuff" pondering loud to others, Erwin being a bit unsure of what to do


"Indeed and if we survive this adventure, the lessons learned and an ever-burning torch are for some enough to retire."

Gnobby opens the door carefully.

The gnome is ignorant of any and all dangers.
