With the Warchief stunned and the last armed goblin partially blocked by a wall, Kaede finally has a chance to move forward. With a quick step behind Salomae, she looks at the situation, and with a snap judgement cries out, "Lizard first!" before taking her own advice, stabbing at the mount with the whole of her glaive.

"Okay, you're dying first," she tells the warchanter as she begins to take aim.

I'm going to beg Kaelaah's pardon here... his 24 hours are up, so by our guidelines for combat posting he should delay into the next initiative block (after the chief/gecko act), however, that delay could actually end up being fairly costly so I'm going to go ahead and bot him now instead. Apologies for bending/breaking my own rule.

Despite his still fairly serious injuries, Kaelaah stands his ground. The proud Shoanti gathers a swirl of flame and coalesces it into a blade, then slashes at the large lizard Kaede has wounded.

The giant gecko makes an pitiful hissing sound when Kaelaah burns it and it falls to the ground. After falling with it, the chieftain suddenly seems aware of his surroundings once more, though still staggered by the waves of pleasure crashing over him. Clumsily, he rolls out of the saddle and stands up. provoking an AoO from Kaede

Beginning of round 4: group A (Sal and Zache) is up. The chief is still staggered and unarmed, gobo3 is still armed and adjacent to Kaelaah (who's still sitting at 5hp), and the warchanter continues chanting on the other side of the room.

Sal quickly steps forward next to Kaelaah, her focus now solely on the armed goblin that could cut her brother down at any moment. Raising her rapier she strikes, aiming for a killing blow!

With a well timed thrust of her rapier, Sal finishes off the remaining goblin soldier. The warchanter's face grows more and more sullen as Ripnugget remains ineffective and the final soldier falls, but a twisted smile grows as Zache falls in a bout of laughter. Emboldened by its success, it works the same spell once more; this time targeting Tera, with a joke about how dumb seven-tooth goblins are. that's a DC 11 will save (vs compulsion) for you too, Tera

You faintly hear movement behind you... glancing over your shoulder you catch a glimpse of the injured soldier that fled (gobo2) emerging from the eastern hall, scurrying across the entryway, and heading for the courtyard... it is in H9 (with the courtyard door open), if you make this check and decide to try to stop it...

group C (Kaede, Kaelaah, and Tera, assuming she doesn't nat-1 her save) is up.

Kaede stays focused on the threat in front of her:the Warchief. With a well-practiced sidestep around Salomae, she slides her glaive's grip down to the center of it before letting loose a pair of strikes onto the goblin, before leveling the blade on Ripnugget's throat.

"Yield!"she cries out, hoping that as many lives as possible can be spared. "Surrender and we won't kill you!"

As Chief Ripnugget makes a strategic withdrawal Sal grips her rapier tightly and moves towards the warchanter, circling around so as to avoid making herself an easy flanking target for the two goblins. Resolving to put an end to the enemy spellslinging she brings her weapon to bear against the chanting goblin...

@Zache- I’m sorry, you get a save this round as a full-round action. It won’t affect this round though (unless you want to spend a hero point for an extra action) so I’ll move the action on and you can post the save whenever you get a chance.

Positioning: I’m having trouble updating the map from my phone, sorry. The chief is actually moving to M3 (the space furthest from the party where he can reach his sword). Sal- let’s put you in L1, you can’t be flanked there because of the wall and you get +1 to hit for having higher ground.

The offer of mercy has been given. It's up to them to accept it. And until then....

Kaede follows closely behind the Warchief, intent on keeping the pressure on the horrid little beast until he relents or dies unrepentant. Noting his aim, she moves to stand over his fallen blade, stabbing him for his troubles, and places her glaive's blade as obviously in his view as his own.

I assume that his weapon is in L4. As such, Kaede's moving to that square and attacking.

Ripnugget seems to finally regain his bearings. Shaking off the last of the enchantment, the bloodied goblin grabs his sword from the floor and slashes at Kaede as he rises.

surprisingly, it seems like that doesn’t provoke at all? Group A (which is now Sal, Kaelaah, and maybe Zache) is up. Zache, if you make your save (from last round) you can act normally this round, if you fail it you’re still laughing this round (but will be back to normal next round).

I’m going to roll Zache’s save for him (because if he fails again we won’t have to worry about his action)...
Zache’s Will: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 3 + 2 = 25
Ok, so that save actually took place last round and means that Zache is entitled to act this round, however he’s over the 24 hour mark so he’s delaying into the next block.

The warchanter is clearly not happy about the way things are going but, at least for now, it presses the attack. Gritting it’s pointy little teeth it swings once more at Sal whose last thrust only barely caught it but opened a nasty wound.

Kaede grunts faintly as the warchief cuts a gash into her. With a whispered prayer, she starts healing the wound, even as she continuing her assault on the goblin.

Tera looks from the chief to the warchanter and back. Deciding that taking out the chief might make the warchanter more reasonable, she closes in and breathes a word of power, completing the spell and making the wand crackle with blue sparks.

A whipcrack echoes through the chamber as she stabs forward with the wand as if it was a dagger.

Botting Zache.
Free from his fit of laughter, Zache stands back up (move action), steps forward to make sure he can still see all his companions (5' step), and begins singing once again (standard).

Kaelaah's flame and Tera's sparks singe the goblin chieftain but both of Kaede's swings clang off Ripnugget's breastplate. Wounded but looking meaner than ever, the warchief slashes at Kaede once again.

While the warchief's ferocity was like nothing that Kaede has ever dealt with before, she still was willing to continue going toe to toe with him, until he is willing to yield. Calling on the last of her personal reserves, Kaede heals herself of some of her wounds, even has she continues her further assault on the goblin leader.

Tera's shock leaves the chieftain disoriented and wobbly... and Kaede's flurry of attacks sends the goblin who had momentarily seemed so dangerous crumpling to the ground.

Still disoriented from his brush with mortality, a split second instinct having saved him from Ripnugget's blade, Kaelaah watches with no small satisfaction as Kaede fells the goblin. Disinclined to chase after anything whilst he is so injured, Kaelaah reaches for one of the flasks tied to his belt...

Although she knows that the fleeing goblin is going to cause them some grief either way, Sal decides that she'd rather face whatever comes on her own terms instead of racing blindly after him. She lowers her rapier and eyes the doors warily.

"That could've gone better, but it could've gone a lot worse. Next time I'd like to know when you're just planning to walk in and start shooting so I can be ready to do the same," she remarks, staring in Kaelaah's direction. "Anyway, who's hurt? I took a few swipes but it could be worse. And I've still got a healing potion if someone needs it."

Sal has a Cure Moderate Wounds potion still and I think Kaelaah is still the most injured, so he's welcome to it if he wants it. As far as whether to pursue or not, Sal would prefer a more measured approach but if everyone wants to give chase then she'll follow.

Tera tries a few times to get the pumpkin off her head. With a pop and a gasp of air, iit comes free and goes dark save what looks like low burning embers in the eyes.

"Wait, wasn't there one that got away? We should go after it," Tera begins heading for the door she thinks she saw it run out of and replaces her wand with her bow. She stops when she notices the blood covering everyone and pulls out the other wand on her belt.

"Nevermind," she mutters, her eyes not meeting anyone else's as she begins to mend everyone's wounds.

After using the wand for almost a minute, she looks everyone over and asks, "Anyone still hurt? What about you Zache?"

Kaede smiles at the de-gourd-ed Tera. "Thank you. He hit hard...," Kaede responds as she cleans her blade on a slightly cleaner scrap of cloth in the room, before kneeling near the warhchief's body and closes his eyes.

"Maybe your next life be less violent," she adds before doing a quick once-over on the corpse for anything useful.

In response, Zache smoothes out his clothes, wiping the last few tears from his laughter. "I'll be fine," he replies, before helping Kaede look over the bodies.

I don't want to get derailed waiting on detect magics and perception checks, so I'm going to give you everything that you guys would find with everyone taking 10 (with an assist), and detect magic running. If something stands out as being something you'd take a little extra time to examine feel free to roll on it, or take 20 (but remember that takes a full minute).

Searching the room while everyone gets healed up, the marked discover that the goblin soldiers have nothing of any real worth. The warchanter has 20 gold pieces and a magic wand (silent image, 5 charges), plus a shortsword and some studded leather that you might be able to sell to a halfling or gnome that wasn't picky. The chieftain has another 20 gold pieces, a magical sword (+1 shortsword, for humans- he was using it like a longsword), a masterwork breastplate (sized for a gnome or halfling), a helmet ringed with a fairly crude golden-crown (the workmanship isn't great but it's probably worth another 20 gold), a potion of lesser restoration, and a key-ring with several large keys.

Armed with those keys, the rooms branching off from the throne room are quickly searched as well. Hidden behind the furs hanging on the southern wall are three archways that lead into a five foot by fifteen foot hallway. The hallway contains some dishes and serving trays, and the foul remains of some unfinished meals. A door at its eastern end connects it to the hallway Salomae explored earlier. The southern more of the two doors on the eastern wall leads into a 'food' storage room- most of which is poorly preserved rancid meats, including a couple of skinned human legs. The other door on the eastern wall leads into a small armory where shoddily made leather armor and dogslicers lay in heaps, along with one masterwork horsechopper (a goblin two-handed sword/human longsword). The door on the northern wall leads into what appears to be Ripnugget's bed chamber. It contains a rickety wooden desk and a tattered old chair (both of which were likely valuable antiques at one point), and a solid wooden 4-post bed with filthy silk sheets. Under the pillow there is a silver unholy symbol of Lammashtu with little rubies for eyes, and hidden inside the cushion of the chair is an old iron key.

DC 15 knowledge(local):
All of the goblins' gold pieces were minted in Magnimar, and fairly recently. In and around Sandpoint that's not uncommon but it does seem a little odd that goblins out here would have such uniform coins.

"Whoops...forgot we had that wand," Sal chuckles as Tera quickly works to mend everyone's wounds. "Thanks Tera, I'm feeling a lot better now!"

Though she keeps one nervous eye out as they proceed to explore the rest of the throne room as well as most of the other areas they'd scouted, Sal isn't sure whether to feel nervous or relieved that no one else has come to call on them in the meantime.

"If any of the remaining goblins have any sense, they've probably tried setting some sort of a trap or ambush further in," she points out. "We'll have to be extra vigilant when we start moving forward again."

"Yeah, but I'm not sure how much longer we can keep relying on it. It's gotten a lot weaker," Tera replies to Sal.

As the others are sorting through the gear of the now dead goblins, Tera's eyes are drawn to the coins. She spends a moment inspecting them, a slight frown on her face. Her eyes become as round as saucers as she recognizes the coins.

"Bloody Hells, she's paying them," she curses softly.

i’m not one to hurry people past an RP opportunity, but when you’re ready to move on i need: a) to know who’s taking what as far the available loot is concerned, and b) some direction on where you’re headed next. (the only doors you haven’t been through so far are the two on the far side of the courtyard, oh and the one that’s nailed shut in the western hallway)

Tera's words get Sal's attention and she looks up, curious. "Wait, paying them? What do you mean, 'paying them'? How can you tell?"

Sal doesn't really need/want the magical weaponry and she can't use the wand. I'd say Tera or Kaede should take the Lesser Restoration potion. As far as where to move next, Sal would be inclined to vote for crossing the courtyard but will follow the majority decision.

Tera holds out a few coins from the purses between the slender fingers of her left hand while point at details with her right.

"These aren't very old, the edges are still sharp and the details haven't been worn down. There's not a lot of grime in the recesses, despite being among goblins. These are fairly new coins, and all of them are Magnimarian crowns. I don't think the odds are good that a bunch of goblins would be carrying around almost four hands of identical coins," she says before looking up at the others and noticing the looks.

"What? I come from a merchant family," she adds as her cheeks turn a slight pink.

If Zache doesn't want the wand, Tera will take it. She doesn't know how to use a sword, so she can't use the shortsword. Kaede can have the potion.
I'd say the two sneaky ones check the doors on the other side of the courtyard first and then we cross.

After a pregnant pause from Tera's forensic skill, Kaede raises her voice. "I vote for Tera to handle any other purchases we need to make after this. Any objections?" She says, badly hiding the grin on her face.

As she pockets the potion, she continues. "Paying them or not, I think we just negated alot of the threat from the goblins with taking him out. On a more serious note, how do everyone else's reserves look? I used alot more on that fight then I was ready for. Most of what I have left would take time for me to bring out, too."

After looking at the unholy symbol for a moment, the Minkaian priestess looks to the others. "Does anyone feel comfortable carrying this? I'm of the opinion that we mar or break it and bring it with us, so we can get it melted down and used for something more fitting."

I'm not interested in the swords either..... Maybe take them home afterwards?

"I am absolutely fine with breaking that," Sal replies, staring at the unholy symbol with disgust. "And I'm equally fine with Tera as group treasurer," she adds with a quick grin. "But we can sort all that stuff out later - even the coin thing. We need to decide how and whether to push on."

She looks down at herself, her wounds all mended by the healing wand, and then back up at her companions. "I'm basically as good to go as I was when we started this morning but there's no sense in risking our necks if we're not all feeling up to snuff to keep going."

Sal basically has no real 'resources' to be spent aside from her HP and Hero Points (and her special ability but she's not tapped into that yet shhhhh), so she's good to keep going.

The irony here is I, as a player, am the last person you want keeping track of the loot and gold. I have trouble enough just keeping track of what my character has. Still,
that made me laugh and I'm still grinning about it. :)

"Honestly I was hoping I'd get to be the vizier. I think I'd make a great evil vizier," Tera confesses before a rather goofy impression of a character from one of Cyrdak's plays, complete with the bad accent.

"Yeeesss! Now I shall enact my dastardly plan to become king using pickled beets!"

A cartoonish jar of pickled beets appears out of a puff of smoke when Tera strikes a dramatic pose. It floats over her outstretched hand and there's a miniature chorus of high-pitched and equally cartoonish ominous chanting.

"But, yeah, I might be able to get us some better deals, at least if we go somewhere like magnimar. I'm not sure how the shop owners in Sandpoint would take to me starting to haggle with them."

She dismisses the silly illusion and flexes her fingers.

"I'm low on arrows and I've got four bolts left. I'm about halfway through what I can do with spells and blessings before I'm down to just the little stuff," she says in a quieter and more serious voice.
