Etha Windscour |
Etha's Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
None of you see the speaker. It does not seem to be the half-orcs or ratfolk in the room. Within the crowd, one of the half-orcs is the one Linpul spotted with her magic a while ago.
Somewhat enthralled in their religious sermon, the half-orcs and ratfolk do not see you.
There are double doors to the west, a single door to the south, and ominous looking double doors made of a dark material with red lights to the east.
What do you do? Also, there is a set of stairs from the balcony down to the floor below, in case you were thinking of just firing down and expecting them not to attack you.
Solaria Jesari |
"Let's sneak round into the big doors, over there." whispers Solaria pointing to the west.
Dr. Lendaro |
Dr Lendaro sits quietly with measured breathes for a moment.
After visualizing his bullets massacring flesh, he stands, looks to the doors, and shrugs. "Worth a shot."
(Meditating for a round to regain psionic focus. Switching Active Type to humanoids for disruptive shot.)
He slips down the stairs...
stealth: 1d20 + 6 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 6 + 10 = 35
I'm hoping there is some cover to end my movement for correct use of stealth?
Linpul |
Tetsuda Stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21 Linpul Stealth: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19
Linpul casts a few words of guidance before sneaking along. She urged Tetsuda to be quiet. Unfortunately because she was supervising the beetle she was not as capable as she normally would be.
everybody gets a guidance

Etha's Stealth: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 3 + 1 = 18
Solaria's Stealth: 1d20 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (18) - 1 + 1 = 18
The party almost makes it to the western double doors, when Thera accidently kicks the side of the partial wall. She grunts in pain. A few of the ratfolk heads turn towards her and see the party.
"Protect the priestess!" one of the ratfolk yells. The voice of the sermon stops but no new creature appears in the room.
The ratfolk and half-orcs mobilize pulling out short swords and hefting improvised weaponry.
Etha's Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Linpul's Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

Enemy Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
1. Etha, Linpul, Lendaro, Tetsuda, Thera
2. Enemies
3. Solaria, Rakdon
Thera and Etha are near the center of the room closest to the ratfolk and half orcs (20 feet away) and 30 feet from the doors. Solaria and Lendaro 10 feet away from the western doors and 40 feet away from the enemies. Linpul, Tetsuda and Rakdon are 20 feet from the doors and 30 feet from the enemies. There are four ratfolk and four half-orcs. It is Etha, Linpul, Lendaro, Tetsuda and Thera's turn. Good luck.
Thera Flidais |
Thera winces at the noise, before throwing caution to the wind and unleashing Inspire Courage to counter the large numbers of enemies.
Hmm might replace Thera at some stage, shes not been very useful at all so far :(
Dr. Lendaro |
Moving forward several paces, Dr Lendaro levels his pistol at the nearest half-orc, and pulls the trigger.
using grit to target touch AC at second range increment. Using guidance too.

GM Demonmoose |
With a little luck, Lendaro's shot fires into the crowd. It misses his intended target but strikes one of the other half-orcs and pierces through its flesh. It growls and its eyes turn white, using its ferocity to keep itself standing.
Etha touches herself, murmuring arcane words and she suddenly grows twice as tall along with her armor and sword. The undead raven on her shoulder remains the same size and caws with a raspy voice.
Etha casts enlarge person on herself.
Linpul and Tetsuda's turn.
1. Etha, Linpul, Lendaro, Tetsuda, Thera
2. Enemies
3. Solaria, Rakdon
Linpul |
Linpul points to Rakdon.
"Tetsuda, defend. Everybody get out the doors. Ill hold the line."
She moves toward the exit doors and turns around brandishing her lucerne hammer to strike any who would harm the party.
"Oh, before I forget."
She releases one hand on her hammer to pound her fist against her chest. A bronze exoskeleton wraps itself around her before becoming invisible.
Verminous Aspect. My ac is 18.

Seems I forgot about you guys... :P
Two of the half-orcs charge forward and strike at Etha, who is blocking the way. They swing their makeshift weapons at her. The other half-orcs can't pass.
Two of the ratfolk drop from the slightly raised platform into the center and strike at Thera. Two of the other ratfolk also drop down, ignore Thera and head towards Linpul. Both pairs of ratfolk share the same space (only one of each gets the flanking bonus until next turn).

Thera gets stabbed in the shoulder. It feels like a small poke and she can barely feel it. The ratfolk easily miss Linpul. They are more used to larger enemies and not creatures their own size.
Etha swings her larger greatsword at the charging half-orcs, but her timing and aim is off. She gets hit in the shin with the improvised weapon. The sylph hisses.
2 damage to Thera. 4 damage to Etha.
Etha's adjusted stats : +1 Damage, 3d6 weapon, -2 AC
Solaria, Rakdon then everyone's turn.
GM Demonmoose |
For a visual image, the party went through a door and saw a group of ratfolk and half-orcs praying near a clawed statue on the same level between two sets of short stairs. Then you tried to sneak down the stairs and west along a slightly lower and slightly hidden "corridor," but Thera struck the side of the wall with her foot. Her yelp alerted the enemies to your presence.
You can think of it as a narrow 10 foot (width) by 40 foot (length) hallway. Solaria and Lendaro are closest to the doors on the "left" of the hallway, Linpul and Rakdon and Tetsuda are somewhere in the middle, and Etha (enlarged) and Thera are closest to the stairs/eastern doors.
Linpul |
they moved hurray. I get to try and hit one with my hammer. Reach weapons ftw. Using the spiked tip Linpul thrusts her lucerne hammer at the ratfolk who were going to assault her. Lucerne Hammer AoO: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 131d10 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

Etha Windscour |
Everyone except Rakdon and Solaria's turn.
Etha swings at one of the half=orcs with her large blade. It arcs wide and slams against the low wall.
Greatsword: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 113d6 + 5 ⇒ (3, 4, 5) + 5 = 17
"Haha," she says. "Maybe this was a mistake."
Linpul |
The attack I posted against the ratmen with my real turn was meant for the "everyone else." However with a bless being cast that improves my bonuses to hit up to a total of 25 for minimum damage.
Tetsuda
Tetsuda lunged at one of the ratmen attempting to sink his mandibles into the lightly armored foe.

Linpul slams her hammer into the ratfolk. Blood is splattered on its whiskers. It collapses to the floor a half second later. Tetsuda flanks with Linpul flying around so he isn't attacked and bites into the other ratfolk's leg.
Lendaro's bullet punches a hole in the chest of one of the half orcs. He growls loudly, barely above the humming around you, and clutches at his wound.
Ratfolk B (8, adj to Linpul), Ratfolk C, Ratfolk D, Half Orc A, Half Orc B, Half Orc C (dead next turn), Half Orc D (13) remaining.
GM Demonmoose |
Thera decides to defend herself. She uses total defense, as there is nowhere for her to run, and she'll be attacked if she tries to go past the ratfolk.
1. Etha, Linpul, Lendaro, Tetsuda, Thera
2. Enemies
3. Solaria, Rakdon
The far half-orc Lendaro "killed" charges forward, then falls down unable to do anything in the battle. The half-orcs swings at Etha, the other wounded half orc can't get through his allies.
The ratfolk swing at Linpul, and the two swarm Thera. They fight light some kind of four armed creature, making it harder for her to defend properly.

The two half-orcs strike at Etha's legs and wound her. Thick blood oozes down her legs. She sways slightly off balance. Linpul knocks aside the ratfolk's small blade with her hammer shaft. Thera dodges the first ratfolk's attack, but gets stuck by the other one.
"Yes, this was definitely a mistake!" the sylph shouts.
shortsword Critical vs Thera: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 221d4 ⇒ 1

Solaria, Rakdon, then everyone's turn.
Thera Flidais |
I don't think I can 5 foot and cast since I don't quite know how much space there is but from the sound of it there isn't much else I could do.

GM Demonmoose |
Tetsuda's Sneak Attack: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Rakdon strikes the ratfolk adjacent to Linpul and Tetsuda. The ratfolk is hit in the mouth as it starts to say something, tries to pull the shaft with weak arms, and falls on its back, dead.
Ratfolk C and Ratfolk D (swarming Thera, about 10 feet or so to Linpul and Tetsuda, Half Orc A and Half Orc B (adjacent to Etha), Half Orc D (13, past Etha to the east) remaining.

Etha Windscour |
Okay, now it's the next turn.
Thera may shift back and cast ear piercing scream.
Etha chops at one of the half orcs with her large blade and hopes she hits. She laughs maniacally as the half-orc is split in half. The blood loss has affected her balance, and she wobbles.

Ratfolk C takes 2 damage.
Lendaro's bullet fires past the ratfolk and strikes the strange machine on the platform. The strange images floating over it distort for a second, then return to their normal display.
Linpul and Tetsuda's turn.
Linpul |
Pointing to the bard, Linpul orders the beetle to go for the ratmen attacking her. The mindless creature wades through and plops himself right in front of Thera. provoking a lot of AoO

Tetsuda stands on its hind legs and bites the ratfolk in the thigh. The ratfolk scrapper shakes off the large insect. The ratfolk swing at the fast beetle as it scampers forward, again unprepared to fight such a small creature.
Linpul scrambles over the low wall, moves along the edge and drops down to flank with Etha. She swings hard and her hammer cracks into the half-orc's side. He growls, not expecting a small gnome to hurt him.

The ratfolk try to cut at Tetsuda again, despite the difficulty. One of the shortswords strikes the beetle and bounces off its exoskeleton. Etha falls down to the ground, half on the raised platform. She is unconscious but still enlarged. Linpul gets whacked in the back of the head by the blunt makeshift weapon. The half-orc laughs, glancing at the gnome blood on his weapon.
Ratfolk C (8) and Ratfolk D (adjacent to Tetsuda, 10 feet from Thera) Half Orc B (11, flanked by Etha and Linpul), Half Orc D (13, about 10 feet away from Linpul) remaining.
Solaria and Rakdon, then everyone else's turn.
Solaria Jesari |
Bit difficult to work out the healing without a map, expected to heal Etha and Thera for 7HPs on the last channel ... otherwise she would have moved into a position to catch her allies in the channel...
Solaria, takes her morningstar, flanking one of the ratfolk and tries to strike it.

Linpul swings as the charging half orc runs at the gnome. Her hammer is too fast and the distance between her and the orc was too far to hit.
Rakdon's acid flies over everyone and hits the half orc attacking Linpul. His greenish flesh sizzles and blackens.
Lendaro's bullet blasts apart the half orc beside Etha. He collapses, his weapon clangs to the ground.
Thera can't withdraw, but you also aren't in danger at the moment. Tetsuda is blocking the ratfolk from getting to you (sort of) and Linpul on the other side is blocking the half orcs. So no opportunity attacks for casting or ranged.
Etha, Linpul, Tetsuda's turn.
Ratfolk C (8) and Ratfolk D (adjacent to Tetsuda, 10 feet from Thera), Half Orc D (13, about 10 feet away from Linpul) remaining.
