Lothan Robgard
Iolar throws herself back across the door jamb to evade the purple flames.
"I see you still have the old magic with women, Lothan."
Grimacing from the wounds, "Yeah... I still got it," he responds, the pain obvious as he speaks.
"So..." the elf in the pool begins, "how many others are there amassed against the drow?"
Turning his attention back to the elf, he looks to her with a raised eyebrow. "Oh yeah, you're still here. I completely forgot about you. How you ask? Hmmm. I don't know; let's see. I'd guess probably because - and this is just off the top of my head - because YOU JUST TRIED TO BLOW US UP AND I WAS JUST TOO FOCUSED ON TRYING TO NOT DIE!" he yells, obviously quite peeved. Then taking a moment to breathe and calm himself, "Okay, look, it seems we got off on the wrong foot here. Let's try something different. How about you don't blow us up anymore and we'll just leave? Hm? Sound good? Because you obviously have no desire to tell us who you are and why you're so freaking calm. Seriously how do you stay so calm in the midst of all this crap that's happening all around you? Also, for the record, you aren't some kind of god, are you? Or possibly a thirty foot monster with multiple arms and sword like teeth cleverly disguised as an elf? Or something else entirely? Because I'll confess, you got me curious, babe." He looks to her a moment, half expecting something else to blow up before, "Oh and as far as your question goes, the bird lady can probably answer that one for you." He motions to Iolar. "Because I really have no idea. And that's probably because I wasn't really paying attention. I gotta say, elves are a bit boring and I just kind of tune boring out. Just sayin' is all. Nothing personal because you're certainly not boring. You're more like... 'blow-uppy' or something." He shrugs, unable to find the right word.
Darklands Archivist
"I never tried to blow you up; that trap was placed there by the drow. You could say I'm some kind of god, and you've conjectured correctly that this is a disguise, and your guess about my true form isn't far from what you say. So now, what can you tell me about what's going on out there? Or would you like to ask me more questions?"
Lothan Robgard
Lothan stares at the elf wide-eyed a moment before finally finding his voice. "Um... okay. So that wasn't your trap? Hm. I just figured... since you didn't get hurt...," he mutters, looking a bit confused. Shrugging to himself, "ANYWAY, well, all right, um, as far as I know we're here to fight a bunch of drow. There's elves that we're helping to fight the drow. Not exactly sure how many elves there are. I know we lost a lot back at camp due to... 'something'. I can't remember what it was that attacked. Whatever it was must've been fairly formidable to take down a number of elves." He stares at the elf a moment before continuing. "Outside of that, as far as exact details, I'm really not your guy for that. I just know it's us and a bunch of elves trying to take down some drow along with a whole bunch of other freaks in this place that they've managed to team up with."
Iolar Eitilt
"Ignore him." Iolar steps past Lothan into the room.
"We have forces enough to force the drow back. Your allies are doomed unless you use divine powers to save them." A hardening of Iolar's tone indicates some doubt as to the elf-maiden's divinity.
"Have any other true elves passed through here?"
Darklands Archivist
The doors open into a larger chamber. On the opposite side of the room stands a towering archway made of shimmering black stone. The archway's keystone seems strangely out of place - unlike the surrounding black stone, the keystone is a pale grey and bears fragments of a spiky set of Thassilonian runes. Inside the archway is a world of shadows in which a strangely beautiful elven city can bee seen. Smears of blood along the floor seem to lead up to and through the archway into the flickering world beyond.
Guarding the portal is a heavily scarred drow. "Master Nolveniss bade me give you his apologies," he says, almost whispering, "that he will not be present to see you die." He then attacks.
Initiative: Zoltan, drow, everyone else
Zoltan the Crippled
Zoltan moves to see the drow through the doorway. For a second, he is taken by the strange portal and its tantalizing city. What great wonder is this?! But the threats offered by the drow convince him to stop his gazing and he extends his blackened arms, summoning forth a shower of golden sparkle that wash over the guardian with blinding iridescence.

Round 1
Iolar summons a small flock of eagles that swarm and attack the scarred drow. He avoids most of the beak and talons, and of the few that hit him, only one actually breaks skin. Vendric and Lothan hit with their missiles, but the drow remains conscious.
Round 2
Zoltan makes the enemy's sword scalding hot. He doesn't let go, though, and stoically takes the damage.
The dark elf moves towards Lothan and unleashes two powerful swings of his sword. The first misses, but the second smashes and cuts into Lothan's ribcage, electricity and negative energy exploding from the wound (25 dmg + 3 electric dmg + 4 negative energy dmg). Some of the negative energy rebounds back at the drow, causing him minor damage.

Otherwise I think Lightning Lord is the best I have. 3d6, Refl for half isn't going to cut it against this guy. Or I could try another summons.

Rising into the air, Iolar casts sleet storm. "Zoltan, to Lothan."
Unfortunately we're subject to the spell too. Blind and sliding. Iolar's flying so she can't slip.
Any chance of an updated map?
Sleet Storm

Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S, M/DF (dust and water)

Duration 1 round/level
Saving Throw none; Spell Resistance no
Driving sleet blocks all sight (even darkvision) within it and causes the ground in the area to be icy. A creature can walk within or through the area of sleet at half normal speed with a DC 10 Acrobatics check. Failure means it can't move in that round, while failure by 5 or more means it falls (see the Acrobatics skill for details).
The sleet extinguishes torches and small fires.
Lothan Robgard
Um... yay for negative energy? :p Dang that dude was bad.
Lothan's eyes pop open. Looking around, he suddenly remembers where he is. "Wha... Oh crap! Big bad drow dude!" He immediately stands, grabbing his bow and taking aim, looking around for the killer drow. "What happened? Where'd he..." He looks down and sees him lying on the ground, apparently dead. Lowering his bow, he looks to the others, "Well well, looks like you cats took care of it. I'm impressed, I gotta say. Good work people. Oh and Z, thanks for bringing me back from the dead, buddy." He pops him on the shoulder. "Thought I was a goner for sure." He then notices Vendric lying on the ground. "Oh crap! V's not dead is he?! Oh crap!" He quickly moves over to him, pulling out a vial of healing out of his pack. Popping the top, he opens the mouth of the alchemist and pours the liquid within. "C'mon, buddy! No time to die, my friend!"

Iolar's got no reason to dimiss the sleet storm, even if Ludomancer ruled she could. She doesn't know the drow is dead until the spell ends. So in her mind it is still providing them cover. So we all get to shiver for 7 rounds until it ends.
(By the way, what is your ruling on that, L__? Can casters dispel their own spells at will or do they run out their duration regardless?)
Yeah, the drow was a stone cold killer. But it occurs to me that if the backlash killed him, then I could have probably gotten him with lightning lord and saved one of my best spells. The value of hind sight.
Also in hindsight, we should have taken time to heal up before opening the door.
Well, who needs what for healing?
Lothan Robgard
With that door bomb going off, I'd have to say everyone is pretty much beat down fairly massively. Everyone saved but that still was around 30 damage or so. Probably a bit less but not much less. I'm down around 40 or so. The bomb combined with the "25 damage per hit guy" we just faced has pretty much knocked the crap out of us. :p
