All of my spells except haste should still be up.
Group: Communal resist energies(fire)/protection from arrows
Personal: shield, barkskin, fluid form
Init: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
If Ganya closes distance to Treiden at 20, then at 16 I take my greater invisibility extract and then move to flank her while drawing my hanbo, staying out of her melee range (my range is up to 15'), providing Treiden with flank.
If she does not close in, I take my greater invisibility extract and then move to ~20' from Treiden so that if she moves in, I can flank. I then ready my crossbow.

"Half the damage is fire damage, but the other half results directly from divine power and is therefore not subject to being reduced by resistance to fire-based attacks."
The 'other half' is divine damage and not reduced. So, the fire part should be subject to reduction, while the divine part is not. Both are affected by the reflex save.

Treiden Wallace |

Flame Strike. Yeah I think Nemeia is right on this one. The sentence breaks when it talks about the divine damage not being subject to energy resistance. It really doesn't matter to me, I'm a bit shocked and happy we took damage during a challenge!

I read it as counting as one damage pool, therefor 22 damage.
Fair enough. Rule zero stands against practically all arguments in my book and this one seems silly to lose sleep on. So I'm thinking tactics may come into play with this fight. Would it be possible to get a map? It's looking like this will take more than one round to finish :)

Round 1 Recap
Initiative: Ganyavesha, Nemeia, Treiden, Nalita
Ganya calls down a forth a flame of divine fire that Nemeia and Treiden avoid with the slightest singe of their skin.
Nemeia charges but triggers a trap door that she deftly avoids to attack the Vudrani woman. Ganya sidesteps the vicious blow from the vivisectionist.
Treiden capitalizes the move and lands a devestating strike on his opponent. 1d100 ⇒ 80 But the attack seems to go through her position, as if she briefly faded out of the material plane.
Nalita casts her spells and moves to engage.
Kerumi????

With a cocksure grin that disappears as his enemy does, "Hmpf! Clever girl." Knowing that at her current state sweet Ganya will be anything but manageable, the bard takes a few cross steps backwards to disengage is foe. Using some intricate movements with his free hand he draws a glyph in the air and sends it flying towards his large enemy.

Round 2, init 16:
I believe this happens before I lose flanking with Treiden...
Nemeia tries to take advantage of the opponent who seems focused on her companion, for the moment, and performs a full attack on Ganya.
Attacks computed with +2 flanking +2 invis, if she can see invis I lose 2. Sneak attack damage applies if either flanking or invis work.
Please handle the concealment if any for me, since I don't know what needs to be rolled for that.

Treiden Wallace |

"Quite a show my dear," Treiden tells Ganya as he lets out a grunt and forces a brave little smile. "Truely you have been the most talented fighter I and my team have faced in these past two days. It would be a privilege of ours to have you join us for food and drink tonight at the noodle house for a celebration not of victory or defeat but one of a battle well fought between honorable combatants. What do you say, my love."

The Emissary awards you with a +2 longbow.
Your victory almost seems earned this time. And day passes into night. But this evening is marked by less activity than usual as there are neither official ceremonies or unofficail cermonies conducted anywhre. Everyone seems exhausted from 2 days of festivities at Yon Loi's Noodle House.
On your approach to the noodle house you come across a bloddied and bruised tian-la man huddled on the side of the path to the noodle house.

Nemeia touches the man on the shoulder, causing some of his wounds to close. "What is wrong? Who would assault someone here, where anyone from the crowds might see?"

The man introduces himself as Donguma and gladly shares his woes detailing his recent run=in with a gang of enforcers who came to collect a debt from yesterday's round of competition. He explained to the thugs he would have their money, once tomorrows round was over, they told him he wouldnt be bale to place any more bets and would need to pay them back in blood. After beating him they took the silver he had and left him laying on the street. He warns you not to get involved in betting on the tournament this year because he and some of his friends think some of the matches have been rigged.

![]() |

He informs you that many of the combatants have been poisoned, he suspects from the previous nights festivities. He is not sure as to whether it was the food or wine but everyone has come down with something. In fact there were reports of several contestants collapsing during their exhibition matches, and even one who lost all muscle control while fighting in the arena on a bed of hot coals.
He starts to speak again but looks around and quickly shuts up.

The rest of the night passes without incident
Day Three
The morning of the third day of the Ruby Phoenix Tournament is dismal and rainy. A steady drizzle lasts well into the afternoon, when the rain lets off, though thick, gray cloud cover remains.
During the first match of day three, an accident occurs and the towers collapse, killing an unlucky competitor and bringing the day;s contests to a sudden halt as the Emissary and his agents investigate the death and clear the ruuined towers from the fight stage.

Treiden Wallace |

"I suppose it wouldn't hurt to let him know of Donguma's troubles but I cannot imagine he words of a bloodied gambler will hold very much sway over the central dealing of the tournament. If we could find some solid evidence to support these claims or perhaps infiltrate the upper tier of the gambling ring... but to do so would take far more time than we are graced with." The bard pauses in quiet contemplation. "Perhaps we can take this time to ask around? Maybe we can find a bit of information on Goka's gambling circuit. We'll split up and meet hear in a couple hours. By the looks of it, we'll be waiting quite a while before we'll be able to compete."

Treiden Wallace |

"It's a plan then. I'll see you lovely ladies in two hours," with a graceful bow and a wide smile the bard disappears into a crowd of passerby's. The first area he visits is the vendor's area in search of seedy looking individuals who may or may not have the connections to place a high stakes bets on the week's events. From there it should be an easy enough time to climb the hierarchical ladder.

Your investigation points to obvious sabotage. While no leads are presented someone wanted to kill the some of the contestants.
After the last few timbers and twisted metal bars have been removed you are approached by Kiang Zhen who asks your group to select a representative to participate in a traditional boar and tiger fight.

Today I can still provide one rare infusion of either fluid form or greater invisibility as well as some minor ones, if someone else is representing us."
