"If you wish to meet He who wields the Crook and Flail of Kings, you must demonstrate your worthiness by traversing the Fourfold Path—Walk on the Wind, Breathe in the Water, Swim through the Soil, and Dance in the Fire. Only those sorely tested may come into the divine presence of the Most Beloved Son of Set."
"There are four entrances, one for each test you must face to present yourself to the Sky Pharaoh. Perhaps, mortals, we shall meet again."
And as she says this the image of the woman vanishes leaving you on the pyramid's surface alone.

As the woman starts to fade, the Leonal heals Dwalindor and Baset.

all of the things she wants us to do sound like spells. I happen to have an amulet that lets me breathe underwater so that room is covered.
Hopefully flying counts as wind walking.

Now fully healed (of hp) Dwalindor nods to the outsider with grunt of thanks.
I am good to go...this east door is good as any to start. Unless any of you have a way to fix poison.
we should be good on hp and Tariq was fully healed but dwalindor and Baset may bc still have ability damage.

The stone staircase leads to a platform jutting from high atop the pyramid’s eastern face. A large, dark block of stone polished to a mirror-like finish blocks entry into the pyramid’s interior. A few dozen golden tiles inlaid in the block of stone surround a symbol of an arrow piercing a cloud, painted in a blue metallic hue. A single hieroglyph is carved into each tile, and a line of smaller hieroglyphs is engraved above the tiles.

Dwalindor marches up the staircase looking for any loose stones or critters.
”I suspect they ain’t gonna want us to get in too easy. “

Sorry guys, totalled bonered on posting earlier today!
Dwalindor, you can see a number of faintly glowing areas normally painted in gold - a sure sign there's a trap on the block if it is not correctly opened.
As you look closer you can decipher the heiroglyphics:
"Speak the name of the one to whom this Crypt of Air is dedicated."
Make a Knowledge (Planes) or Knowledge (Religion) check.

I can try my fancy reading helmet if the old man does not have a clue. Dwalindor grins as he looks from Tariq to Noonan, hopeful the priest has something in mind.

”I don’t think that word means what you think it does. “
Dwalindor the Pahmet

”No! Quadratic!!!! “
Dwalindor the Pahmet

Is there a place in the room or beyond we must go or is this blocking us entirely?
Do you have to say it in the old language or while inserting a coin or something?
| DMummy |
The block covered with hieroglyphs is completely preventing entrance to the pyramid. You could try to force it but you are certain any Pharaoh - much less an insane undead wizard king with a god complex and advanced paranoia - would trap the block somehow. Noonan is certain he has the name of the demon right but simply speaking the name was not enough to open the way.
Dwalindor the Pahmet

”Maybe say it again while pushing or inserting some coin? “
Dwalindor looks for any coin slot or wear marks

Dwalindor speaks the name again and tries to blow air on it. If that does not work he tries a different tact.
Hey Ozy, we may need something that blows more hot air than Noonan talking about his wooden teeth collection. Can you summons some critter with air?
Dwalindor the Pahmet
|
Ok, so Dwalindor tried, speaking the name while blowing. Speaks while pushing or touching the symbol. If still nothing...
Ozy, maybe one of the smaller air kind - like little wind tornado? I don't know and I ain't no expert on this spell stuff. You can Noonan maybe can figure out something.
| Tariq and Baset |
While the dwarf gets physical with the stonework, Tariq rattles off the name in different languages.
Just to be sure...heiroglyphs can be tricky.
He speaks in Ancient Osiriani, Celestial, Common, Draconic, Dwarven, Ignan, Kelish, Osiriani, Sphinx, Terran
If that fails, he continues to look for a way to disable it.

Dwalindor shoulders Noonan aside gruffly and tells him what he should be doing.
He touches the symbols on the block that make the name of the demon and after he finishes the block begins to grind, slowly, before retreating into the floor, leaving an entrance into the pyramid.
The dwarf smugly looks at the priest.
"Books."
He snorts, hoists his earthbreaker and steps inside.
Beyond the platform is a narrow corridor that turns south almost immediately. A thick, greenish-white mist fills the passage, masking its length.
Dwalindor the Pahmet

Proud of his brainy and brawny contributions, Dwalindor steps aside.
Well, Tariq this may be your area next.
Unless we want to blow away that green gas. That wasn't me....this time.

Tariq Fort : 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
Baset Fort : 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (15) + 15 = 30
”What did you say, Noonan? I can’t hear you over the dwarf’s stomach rumblings as usual… “
fyi I need to look up as other situational bonuses may apply. Also Ozy lost his post from last night but was going to entry and summoning a medium air elemental - as a prepared spell not his class feature

Dwalindor watches as the scouts enter
Perception : 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (16) + 23 = 39
”Hey, watch where you step!!! Could be piles of mummified dung beetles in there. “
also Dwalindor and Ozy have necklaces of adaptation vs gasses. I am not sure who else does.
| DMummy |
Gotcha, sorry about yesterday, I totalky crashed yesterday.
Tariq and Ba'set manage to fight off the effects of the fog around them but Dwalindor notices there's some type of substance suspended in the air in the tunnel. Tariq and B'set sneak around the corner to find a hallway moving north again.
Let me know how you want to deal with the substance!
Dwalindor the Pahmet
|
The substance is something solid different than the gas?
”Noonan, Ozy! Check this out. Is it magic? Is it floating dung beetle dung? What is it? “
Survival : 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (6) + 15 = 21
Kn nature or dungeon : 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
| DMummy |
It's within the gas, like fine droplets of mist suspended in the air within the corridor.
Noonan, you don't identify the substance with magic - in fact you can't detect anything particularly magical in the substance at all, although the pyramid surrounding you glows faintly as you'd expect from the flying tomb of a pharaoh.
Dwalindor the Pahmet

Dwalindor’s first thought is to try and catch some with his hand like catching snowflakes
”Whatever it is - not sure we can trust it. Tariq don’t wander too far ahead!!!“
