Based on the grin and hook, I'll guess I'm no longer invisible. Is there room to squeeze behind this blighter and flank? Am I pushing into the room or pulling the door back?

Muchorak "Windstriker" |
Muchorak would start in 7.05 and will double move to 5.05 to attack the Ogre. Ursus would be in 7.06 and will move to 5.06 staying along the wall. No attacks from him this turn.

If I'm placing everyone correct, I guess Ali and Lunas can start in 08.05 & 08.06. Since she's near the end of the init, I'll wait to see the results of the other's actions before seeing where she can end up. (crossing fingers for Dabbler's map magic)
As her packmates rush in to attack DireAliWolf and Lunas bide their time for the most oppourtune moment to strike.
Esteriande d'Litran |
OK, as we are moving in Esteriande goes on the assault, moving simultaneous with Muchorak delaying initiative to 21 so we act together.

I can't show it on the map but there are pews and other chapel fittings strewn over the floor. It's been a good bit more than 5 rounds since the last ogre died.
I reckon Ali and Lunas can get behind the Target and as he is still flat footed no AoO's as you pass..but it will take two move actions to get there

2 potions of cure serious wounds
+1 hide armour(Large)
+1 human bane ogre hook
Belt of Giant Strength +2
Marak determines that this was a chapel to Erastil and has been converted into a shrine to Lamashtu.
Marak Quan |
"Two very different sides of the natural world," Marak says quietly, pondering the transformation this chapel has undergone.
"And a testiment to the futility of such mindless savagry. They cannot build or construct their own places in the world, but must attempt to seize them from others, only to prove incapable of even maintaining them..."
I'm sure someone can benefit from the belt of giant strength +2 and the potions can be distributed among those who can't heal themselves, one for Roman and one for Naria. The hide armor and ogre hook can go in the bag of holding, for later resale.
Inikai |
Is the belt of giant strength sized for a human? Is it one of those items that magically re-sizes for its wearer?
"The ogres are still confronting us individually. It seems that they still don't know of our presence yet, else they would be massing against us in overwhelming numbers."
Inikai |
"I thought that the snake-women would be rallying the ogres. Perhaps they quit the fort and left the brutes to fend for themselves."
The smell of the dead ogre's burned flesh makes Inikai wince and he stands by the open doorway lessen its effect. Occasionally he coughs out a puff of smoke himself.
Romon |
The invisibility must have worn off by now.
In response to Inikai Romon nods, smiles, and taps his temple significantly. "Let's keep it that way."
Although ROmon will gratefully accept as much loot as possible, I have reservations. Romon's got two potions of cure light wounds. Does Inikai have self-healing capability? Or Muchorak?

Inikai has 1 CLW potion
Muchorak "Windstriker" |
Muchorak has a Potion of Cure Light Wounds and his armor which can heal him if need be. He already has a belt granting +2 str so someone else can use it.
"Their foulness plagues everything touch," The Shoanti looks about, "It will take much work to cleanse this area of such distruction."

"It is a task for tomorrow," Esteriande agrees. She lays one hand on Muchorak's shoulder, and sends a surge of healing energy into him.

"For now, if this was the leader of ze ogres," she pauses and with one stroke of her blade slices the head from the body, and holds it up, her expression grim. "We can display zis to demoralise zem. 'Ere on ze upper floor we can resist zeir assault ze easiest. It will be better zan trying to assault zem in ze courtyard. I suggest we declare ourselves and send our signal."
Romon |
Romon looks worried. "Declare ourselves? Wouldn't be better to slink back out of here and let them tear each other apart fighting for who gets to be the new leader? THey might do half the work for us."
Esteriande d'Litran |
"We can make our stand in ze door of ze keep below," Esteriande declares. "When we give ze signal from ze roof, out allies will know to launch zeir own attack. Ze ogres will be leaderless and confused."

Binding Check
1d20 + 15 ⇒ (6) + 15 = 21
Inikai takes a piece of charcoal from a pouch at his belt and uses it to draw a five foot-wide circle on the floor of the cathedral. ”With the desecration the ogres have wrought here, I can forgive myself for doing this here” he says. After a completing the circle he fills it in with an intricate design. Here and there he stops to refer to a small book in order to be certain that the details of the seal are correct. Once he is finished with the drawing he backs up from the drawing and takes a potion bottle from his backpack. In one quick draw, he drinks the contents down and puts the empty bottle back. Potion of Eagle's Splendor
”Marak, if I could ask you for a boon, would you favor me with the benefit of Nethys’s guidance?” Assuming that Marak casts a Guidance cantrip Once his priestly friend has done so, Inikai calls out toward the seal in a strong voice. ”Amon, Void Before the Altar, appear before me and then quit this mortal plane! I break our pact and cast you out! Go and settle again in the non-being of your dwelling!”
Spoilered rest for length
Once he finishes, Inikai starts to cough violently. Smoke pours from his mouth and nostrils with each cough and he doubles over as if to wretch. An inhuman growl issues from his mouth and, with a convulsive shake, Inikai belches forth a smoldering mass of coals into the center of the seal. The burning embers adhere to the floor where they transform into a black ram with a serpent for a tail. Tongues of flame spark from the ram’s mouth as it curses Inikai.
”Liar! Oath-breaker! Son of a whoremonger! May the savages outside these walls do for you as was done to your father! Let them skin you and your fellows for leggings!” His serpent-tail hisses and sways threateningly at the others. Then Amon turns his attention to each in turn. His speech is preternaturally rapid and fills the air to the exclusion of all other sound.
To Marak he shouts ”Lowly acolyte of an idiot godling! Your prayers are supplications to an accidental divintity.”
To Muchorak : ”Ignorant savage! You are no better than the brutes outside! But you fight them on behalf of those who took your ancestral lands!”
To Romon: ”Whoreson! Wretched thief! You hide behind your woman rather than behave like a man!”
To Esteriende: ”And the pickpocket has found himself a replacement for this mother! Rut with him as a whore would do if her own son had the asking price!”
Smoke increasingly accompanies Amon’s vitriol and his voice reduces in volume. Soot falls from his fur and his form looks to be crumbling.
To Naria ”You are the get of slaves! Play not with magic for you are unworthy of anything but a wash-bucket!”
Finally, to Ali: ”Flea-bitten, animal! Go about on four legs and sniff at the asses of your fellow dogs!”
Amon’s last outburst culminates in a flash of fire and smoke. When the air clears there is no trace that he ever stood in the drawing on the floor.
Inikai straightens in his stance and wipes black ashes from his mouth. After a few more violent coughs he addresses you all. ”I am most sorry for that. The tales of Amon’s acerbic nature do not do him justice. But, if we are to face foes in great numbers, I need to call on another for power to confront them. It will take only a small span of time and will be less unpleasant, at least.”
Esteriande d'Litran |
"Pleasant spirit, wasn't 'e?" Esteriande says with a Gallic shrug. "To send a signal to our allies I will 'ave to be outside under ze sky, from ze roof would be preferable. 'Owever, I 'ave a few spells I can use to even ze odds against ze ogres yet. Naria, 'ow many of ze spell of speed can you cast still? Zat was ze most useful spell in battle. Also, which of us is ze most skilled at making foes afraid?" In other words, who has the best Intimidate skill?
Inikai |
"Again, I am most sorry for that. I still need to call another one. But this one should not be as wantonly belligerent."
"I am practiced in unnerving foes; it is a necessary facet of what I do."13 ranks of Intimidate. Also, I still have five fire-globes that our benefactor gave us in the Bazaar of Sails." Necklace of Fireballs: 8d6, 4x 2d6
Again Inikai draws a sigil on the floor but this time he uses chalk instead of charcoal. This drawing is more intricate than the first one and contains more wavy lines than straight ones. Those who attempt to follow the lines with their eyes find them confusing and difficult to keep track of.
"And now for the distateful part" Inikai says as he draws his dagger and walks to the body of the slain ogre-giant. He crouches by an unburned area of the of the ogre's leg and cuts a piece of flesh from the body. Then he places the bloody cutaway into the center of the seal and calls out.
spoilered for length
"Shub-Niggurath, Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand Young, come to me and feed. Walk in the mortal world again and sate your boundless appetite. Taste the meat of existence once more."
For the space of a dozen breaths nothing happens. Then a black mist rises from the seal. Moments later, the lines of the seal seem to writhe and join the solidifying mist. Great tentacles and mouths form in the mist, one tentacle hungrily passing the offered meat to one mouth, and finally, a short pair of black goat-legs forms to support the now-material body of Shub-Niggurath. When it addresses Inikai it does so in an unintelligible language and with an angry tone, speaking from many of its mouths at once.
For his part, Inikai seems somewhat taken aback and unsure of what to say in response to the gibbering mass. Several times he begins to speak but comes up short instead. All the while the hideous vestige garbles and barks out words not understandable by anyone present.
In a short space of time the appearance begins to undo itself. Mouths begin multiply faster than the tentacles that feed them. They begin to turn on the appendages and devour them in a cannibalistic frenzy of self-consumption. The spectacle increases in intensity until it simply eats itself out of existence and leaves nothing of itself in the space it had occupied.

"Well, that was not as bad as I had expected."
Romon |
To Romon: ”Whoreson! Wretched thief! You hide behind your woman rather than behave like a man!”
Romon's stunned by the intensity and suddenness of Amon's attack. Hurt beneath a composed exterior carefully constructed by years of taunts and jibes on the streets of Magnimar, he can only mumble faintly, "At least I've got a woman...."
***
After Inikai is finished, Romon shakes his head. He lays a hesitant , but comeradely hand on his friend's shoulder. "That is some sick s+@!, man. How did you get started on that? Did you just wake up some day and say I'm going to draw pictures and swallow whatever pops out of them?"
Brilliant, Bill. Just brilliant.
Naria Yamyra |
To Naria ”You are the get of slaves! Play not with magic for you are unworthy of anything but a wash-bucket!”
"Wa...what? how?" Naria splutters nearly choking in anger at the comments. She looks ready to blast the thing with a lightning bolt except that it crumbles away before she can (Well that and she had no castings of lightning bolt left.)
By the time the second binding finishes Naria has regained her composure somewhat.
"That was.......................Incredible." Naria is almost immediatly upon Inikai questions coming out her mouth in rapid succsion "When could you do that? How long have you been able to? How often can you do it? any long term side effects?" and so on
Marak Quan |
Marak casts guidance as requested.
Marak shrugs off the creature's offensive comments about Nethys, believing that Nethys himself would find a reply to a creature who has become so irrelevant as to have all but faded from existence to be beneath him. The tentacled creature intrigues him more, and he is relieved when it's manifestation cannibalizes itself out of this world.
He is troubled more, indeed, by Esteriande's plan to use the ogre's head as a grisly warning to its kin, as the mistreatment of remains has always troubled him. He cannot fault the logic, and doubts that the ogres themselves would care one way or the other, but plans to reclaim and inter the remains later, having no desire for the locals to keep the head atop their battlements as a blasphemous trophy.
Esteriande d'Litran |
Using such tactics is par for the course in warfare, Esteriande is merely being practical - and will herself cheerfully re-inter the remains with a prayer that the ogre learn the error of it's ways and reform in the afterlife. She doesn't like it, but we're facing pretty bad odds even now, and she considers it her duty to use any tactic that may lead to less loss of life later.
Inikai |
After Inikai is finished, Romon shakes his head. He lays a hesitant , but comeradely hand on his friend's shoulder. "That is some sick s~*!, man. How did you get started on that? Did you just wake up some day and say I'm going to draw pictures and swallow whatever pops out of them?"Brilliant, Bill. Just brilliant.
Thank you!
Romon's comment sends Inikai into raucous belly-laughs and he takes several moments to compose himself. "It's not really that interesting of a story, sadly. But I will do my best to embelish it over drinks when we get back to Magnimar."
"That was.......................Incredible." Naria is almost immediatly upon Inikai questions coming out her mouth in rapid succsion "When could you do that? How long have you been able to? How often can you do it? any long term side effects?" and so on
Inikai does his best to keep up with Naria's barrage of questions but ultimately falls well behind the sorceress. "I can call upon two of them in a day...I have not risked more so far...This is the first time that I expelled one...Side effects? I am not sure..."
Alisebett |
Yes, most excellent writing Bill!
The two wolves, Lunas understanding hardly anything of what is said, and Ali hardly much more, with the rapidity of it, crouch and growl at the apparitions, their hackles rising is both fear and threat.
Once the spectacle is over, AliWolf hesitantly approaches Inikai and, after sniffing him several times to make sure, gently licks his hand once.
Lunas seems significantly less forgiving and keeps a wide berth from the binder, still giving a low growl any time he looks in Inikai's direction.
Ali has a couple spells that might help from above but I think her and Lunas would be much more effective on the ground crew. So let's decide who will be up above with Esteriande and who will be part of the ground attack force. And if this is to be the final big battle she can do some Nature's Ally summonings as well. Perhaps if Inikai doesn't mind holding up the head our Paladin can join us on the ground? Also Naria's idea is a great one.
