Inikai |
Naria not wanting to see any of the bodies tries to find something out of sight of them to focus on "No offence but I think your mothers accounts may have been toned down from reality somewhat."
"Probably true..." Inikai trails off.

I must say that the boards are a bit weird at times; depending on where you put a roll between other rolls it changes the results of the subsequent ones.
Always been that way. If you add a roll in between other rolls, everything gets pushed down, making it a lame way to cheat, by tossing a useless knowledge check near a bad attack roll or save to push the bad roll somewhere else. Just make sure to add any forgotten or missed rolls (or crit confirms or other followup rolls) to the very bottom, and everything stays in place, even if your post-order looks a little funky.
Marak incants a cantrip to check the area for signs of magic.
detect magic
Romon |
Romon rolls his eyes at the dead ogres. Worthless, absolutely worthless. He is getting the hang of this murder business, however, and quickly moves to the south door where he goes through the usual.
Percpetion, listen 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22
Percpetion, traps 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (10) + 17 = 27
Disable Device 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (17) + 14 = 31
Inikai presses forward with a fury against the ogre Romon struck.Attack 1
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20Attack 2
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5Hasted Attack

1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3Damage for Hasted attack
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3Critical Confirmation for first attack
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26Additional damage for Inikai's first critical in four years of play
1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Ok ...
Sorry Inky but a dice score of 11 is not a critical
Check again. I got a 26 on the crit confirmation roll. I must say that the boards are a bit weird at times; depending on where you put a roll between other rolls it changes the results of the subsequent ones.
Even if there was no critical Inikai still contributed 1% of the damage inflicted.
...
Bill, I think Wellard believes you are confirming a crit on your first attack roll on which you rolled 11+9 = 20, at least as it actually posted. Wellard is arguing that you need a 20 on the raw dice roll before modifiers.
I've had rolls change too between composition and actual post. Sometimes due to what Set describes; sometimes for mysterious reasons.
[ooc]~ smug superiority dance~ And Romon scored 6% of the damage. Assuming he did get sneak attack. Otherwise he's a 1%er too. Our heavy hitters can lay down the smack.

Their tongues working to remove the foul taste of ogre from their mouths, the two wolves pad over to the door and sniff for any scent of wolf-killers nearby.
Ali Perception + Scent: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
Lunas Perception + Scent: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Marak Quan |
Verifying that nothing in the room has the glow of magic, Marak turns to the men whose bodies were being defiled by the brutes, and attempts to arrange them in somewhat more dignified positions, covering the horrors inflicted upon them with any cloth available in the room.
More lives wasted, and all I can do is see them buried. he thinks, suffering a moment of despair at the number of times they have arrived too late to do more than bury the dead.
DM Wellard |
The ogrehook and the Large Hide Armour worn by the slightly tougher ogre are Magical.
Romon declares the door safe and The Wolves catch no scent from under the door that would indicate that the room is occupied.
Entering you find this was the Keeps Map room..it's in the state of chaos you have come to expect but some maps look salvageable.
Marak Quan |
Marak waits until the bodies are arranged, and then snatches up the ogre hook and armor that he's divined as magical. "These two items are enchanted. I don't imagine anyone has any immediate use for them..." he says, before stuffing them into his haversack, leaving the hook wrapped up in the hide armor, so that it doesn't snag the valuable storage device.
will add to any other party loot he's carrying
Marak Quan |
Snatches up the armour?..I take it you are going to remove it from the body first..which will take some time..
It doesn't seem that we are in a great hurry, at the moment, so he'll go ahead and pull it off. If we seem to be in a rush, he'll leave it.
Romon |
Romon fights minor disappointment. Ogres and no doubt poorly paid public servants. No wonder there's no loot. I'm going to have to ask Randi why we came out here again.
Better keep moving. Kill 'em all and sort the loot later.
The half-eleven rogue glides outside the conference room-abattoir and checks the single door.
Perception, listen 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15
Perception, traps 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (12) + 17 = 29

As the stink of the hated enemy fills her nose DireAliWolf growls deeply and quietly, just enough to let her companions know what lies beyond the door.
Backing up so the others can open the door, the muscles of both big wolves bunch and tighten, ready to spring and rend and kill.
Romon |
Romon notes the wolves attitudes.
He opens the door and stands clear.
UNlike his usual practice, if the door pushes open, he is not going to move forward with it. He's just going to push it open and step aside as quickly as possible.
DM Wellard |
The walls of this room are decorated with finely crafted longswords, stuffed animal heads, and a map of the Hook Mountain environs.
A large oak table surrounded by several chairs has been smashed to splinters, and an immense bed has similarly been ruined. An open cabinet that once contained several bottles of wine has been crushed as well, and broken bottles and the faint scent of wine lingers around its ruins.
There are 3 Ogres her.An unarmoured female, and two males armed with ogre hooks..one of the male Ogres has a lower jaw made of metal with vicious looking iron teeth
Inikai |
one of the male Ogres has a lower jaw made of metal with vicious looking iron teeth
Its an ogre Bond-villain.
Something about the scene makes Inikai doubt his senses. Why is the ogress not armored? Is this a trap? But he trusts that Ali and Luna's keen noses would have detected deception.
Is Ursus still with us?
Alisebett |
Is this a surprise round? Or are you rolling init for us? And maps please? Also, can we tell what they were just doing? Hanging out? Playing chess? Foreplay? Finally, someone (Romon) Please make a 'Yo Mama' joe or refer to the clan he smashed at the house

Thank you ever so much for putting the image of a menage-a-ogre into my head.
DM Wellard |
What?..Baldrick wrote some self improvement books?
The males hang back for an instant while the females voice rises in a chant.
For an instant you feel as if something is trying to clud your minds then it passes..for most off you
Ali and Muchorak are subject to confusion as is Ursus..Lunas managed to save.
The males then close on the door... I'm going to assume that Esteriande was intending to lead..she has the best armour.
Ogre 1 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (14) + 16 = 30 Damage2d8 + 13 ⇒ (3, 3) + 13 = 19
Ogre 2 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (8) + 16 = 24 Clangs off her armour
CONFUSION EFFECTS THIS ROUND
Ali 1d100 ⇒ 83 Attack nearest creature
Muchorak 1d100 ⇒ 67 Attack self for 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 damage
Ursus 1d100 ⇒ 91 Attack nearest creature
Esteriande d'Litran |
Esteriande rocks under the blow, and with a touch of her hand moderates the damage.
Lay on Hands (swift action): 4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 1, 5) = 13
"Naria! Deal wiz ze witch!"
Esteriande unleashes a flurry of powerful attacks on the ogres (Power Attack -3/+9, strength still boosted to 18, haste for +1 to hit & AC):
Attack #1: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16 Damage: 1d10 + 18 ⇒ (8) + 18 = 26
Attack #2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22 Damage: 1d10 + 18 ⇒ (1) + 18 = 19
Attack #Haste: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (4) + 13 = 17 Damage: 1d10 + 18 ⇒ (2) + 18 = 20
Romon |
Are we still hasted? Did Naria get the invisibilty on Romon before his initiative?
Romon stares momentarily dumbfounded as Ali and her canine companion do not spring past him to attack the ogres. He's even more surprised as the Wild Bunch turns on the party and itself. He quickly considers his options.
DM Wellard |
Haste is off and yes Romon is invisible.
Naria cannot get a line of sight on the witch the ogres and Esteriande get in the way..remember a lightning bolt originates at your fingertips.
Things would admittedly be easier if you could see the map with characters on it
Esteriande only connects once with her attacks.
Ogre 1 Damage 19
Alisebett |
Attack rolls and saves are pretty much the only rolls I really prefer to make myself, but if you do prefer to roll them for us (which I can understand, to help speed up the game) can you at least show us? Seeing as you do show the Orge's saves, only makes sense. As well, I would like to know the DCs. Finally, how long are we confused for?
Romon |
Waiting to see what happens with Ali since she's up before Romon.
Effing magic! The witch's turned them on us!
Muchorak "Windstriker" |
With the confusion spell is Muchorak still able to attack the ogres after he attacks himself or is that his only action? I get that it will be Ursus' only action; and with that does he have to move to attack the nearest target? That effects how many attacks he makes.
