"Ha ha, yes. Though you should know that there are tricks... those who live in the desert learn how to deal with the sand."

You turn to see an elderly man dressed in robes of blue and white. Imagine how the avatar image would look when the guy is elderly.

His clothing is obviously expensive and he wears many rings and other jewelry. He smells of fine cologne and he is meticulously groomed. He has a warm smile and a gentle bearing.

"You pardon! I am Layith." Rhymes with teeth.

"I had planned to meet someone here, but it seems I am early. With this place, you can never tell the time properly. Mind if I join you?"

He sits and nods to the waiter. "Ambrosia, if you have a decent vintage. Bring a bottle and some glasses for my new friends here."

fatmanspencer wrote:
" So tell me, how did you all get here? I can guess that me and Octavius are somewhat similarly skilled, but what is each your talents?" She looked at all those gathered, interested in the story they would tell.

The old man chuckles. "You aren't recruiting, are you? No, I'm past all that. I have all the fortune I could want. In my younger days I was a warrior, and a healer. A fine combination, since even the greatest fighter takes wounds now and then. But as a young man I was cold and stern, even savage sometimes. I became a lord over a realm, and you know what they say... 'Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown.' I had many worries. At first I strived to be great in war, but then I realized that what I wanted was peace... not for me so much as for my children and grandchildren."

"That is why I am here, in fact. Peace can only be had by agreement, and I am to meet someone who I hope will agree with my proposal."

"As to how I got here, a simple plane shift spell took care of that. Now... as to how I got my hands on a tuning fork attuned to this little demiplane? Well, that I swore not to speak of, so I am afraid I cannot tell you."

When the Ambrosia arrives Layith pours a glass for anyone who cares to join him.

"Since I am early, perhaps a game of chance would prove diverting. Why not?"

Layith removes a ring off one finger; on it there is a ruby the size of a walnut. He hands it to the croupier.

"Cash that for me, will you? I'll buy it back at the end. I won that from an Efreet."

There is a shimmer in the air and a man appears surrounded by crackling lightning and covered with a second skin of ice, (Greater invisibility and a illusion to appear like the background) "So fellow adventurers, you wish to know how I came here?" He speaks in a deep booming voice "I have been here the whole time. As for my talents I have many, as many as stars in the mortal sky"

Octavius produced the requisite amount of money from his seemingly endless pouch of gold, sliding it over to Layith.

"You know, when I was a ...much younger man, before I'd really found my path, I found myself in gaming halls and dens of iniquity with more frequency than was healthy. Earned a few fortunes, and lost them. Kept the scars. I will say, it's been difficult to go back to such places in the mundane world. I don't know about the lot of you but it's hard for me to find people with shared experiences. I just want people to be relatable, you know? I know, I'm rambling, I'm just trying to say I think it's nice to be able to share a game of chance with like-minded folk. It's a lot more fun trying to read the bluff of someone that's flown a dracolich that they set on fire into it's necromantic lord's lair."

Octavius let words flow without much thought, and as he did so, he partitioned his concentration, appraising Layith's ruby while simultaneously attempting to examine all the potential players, searching for any nervous ticks or subliminal tells. If they were here, they were certainly powerful, and clever enough to survive long enough to accrue said power.

He would just have to be more clever.

An icy skin man then appeared, rather grand claims falling from his lips. Octavius deduced the magic he'd used rather easily should be super easy spellcraft checks for 20+ and allowed himself to show some bemusement, a single brow quirking up and peeking out over his glasses.
"Ah...well, good I suppose? Though you know that tells us all nothing about you..."

Kineticist talent ... Also I'm going to be playing level 500+ I hope that's okay. GM for this purpose I'm pretending that's I continue getting expanded talents as I level I hope this also OK
"You doubt me? Ask me to do something and I will do it as long as it doesn't violate Jacob's rules"
Appraise 1 rank for this purpose because any further ranks cancel out 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30

You're not the dealer, are you?

"Thank you stranger, but I would prefer to turn this ring over to the house. I mean no offense, but I know Honest John you see, and I know I can always buy this back from him later. It holds fond memories for me."

A surreptitious detect magic reveals no magical aura about the ruby, but a discerning eye (with a 20+rank appraise check) reveals this is a fireheart ruby, distinguished by the faint glimmer of orange light from within and that it is warm to the touch. They can only be found naturally on the Plane of Fire and are quite rare and valuable. The Efreet have been known to go to war against those who steal them.

"But I am interested in your story about riding a burning dracolich. That sounds like quite an achievement."

"At first I was excited to go on adventures. But gradually I found these quests to be more and more of an obligation and less of a joy. Once you have a domain that you are responsible for, well, you find yourself doing things for others rather than yourself."

"So now I mostly leave that sort of thing to the younger generation. Though sometimes they call on me for help, and how can I refuse them?"

Why not both alignments? :)

You should be able to edit the sheet yourself; the spreadsheet should be editable by anyone.

Mind you I don't know if the GM is even using it... another applicant made it up.

I post on an Mobile device most of the time and did not download sheets

His alignment changed because when I was writing his personality LN seemed a better fit

Andrew Royce raised an eyebrow and nodded at the group, he'd think half them mad if he was anywhere else but here. "As for my skill, I'm returning from the Mendevian Crusade at the Worldwound. I'm skilled with the blade, a few minor arcane tricks and so I'm told with my tongue. I've mosty been turning that towards inspiring my fellow knights and footmen in combat against the hordes of demons and their cultists we fought there. I have broad base of knowledge, I always find it easier to defeat a foe when I know their strengths and weaknesses."

Here is the crunch for my Caviler/Cleric using my last rolls, but I think I will still make some rolls, because why not?

I believe I am still missing the feat for my mount (it already has light armor Prof.) and I wanted to ask about taking the feat evolved companion instead of one of the ones I already have. I was thinking of either improved natural armor, or putting bleed on her bite attack. Would you allow either of those?

Feats:

Combat Reflexes
You may make a number of additional attacks of opportunity per round equal to your Dexterity bonus. With this feat, you may also make attacks of opportunity while flat-footed

Mounted Combat
Once per round when your mount is hit in combat, you may attempt a Ride check (as an immediate action) to negate the hit. The hit is negated if your Ride check result is greater than the opponent’s attack roll.

Dodge/Mobility
You gain a +1 dodge bonus to your AC. This bonus increases to +4 against attacks of opportunity caused when you move out of or within a threatened tile. A condition that makes you lose your Dex bonus to AC also makes you lose the benefits of this feat.

Stealth Synergy While you can see one or more allies who also have this feat, whenever you and your allies make a Stealth check, you all take the highest roll and add all your modifiers to Stealth.

Traits:

Bastard

(Human Only) One of your parents was a member of one of the great families of Brevoy, perhaps even of the line of Rogarvia itself. Yet you have no substantive proof of your nobility, and you’ve learned that claiming nobility without evidence makes you as good as a liar. While you might own a piece of jewelry, a scrap of once-rich fabric, or an aged confession of love, none of this directly supports your claim. Thus, you’ve lived your life in the shadow of nobility, knowing that you deserve the comforts and esteem of the elite, even though the contempt of fate brings you nothing but their scorn. Whether a recent attempt to prove your heritage has brought down the wrath of a noble family’s henchmen or you merely seek to prove the worth of the blood in your veins, you’ve joined an expedition into the Stolen Lands, hoping to make a name all your own. You take a –1 penalty on all Charisma-based skill checks made when dealing with members of Brevic nobility but gain a +1 trait bonus on Will saves as a result of your stubbornness and individuality. (The penalty aspect of this trait is removed if you ever manage to establish yourself as a true noble.)

Inner Beauty

Once per day when you manifest your faith in your goddess, you gain a +4 trait bonus on a single Bluff, Craft, Diplomacy, or Perform skill check. You must choose to use this trait immediately after rolling the skill check but before the result is revealed by the GM.

Race Abilities:

+1 skill per level
+1 Feat to start

Cavalier:

Challenge
Once per day, a cavalier can challenge a foe to combat. As a swift action, the cavalier chooses one target within sight to challenge. The cavalier’s melee attacks deal extra damage whenever the attacks are made against the target of his challenge. This extra damage is equal to the cavalier’s level. The cavalier can use this ability once per day at 1st level, plus one additional time per day for every three levels beyond 1st, to a maximum of seven times per day at 19th level.
Challenging a foe requires much of the cavalier’s concentration. The cavalier takes a –2 penalty to his Armor Class, except against attacks made by the target of his challenge.
The challenge remains in effect until the target is dead or unconscious or until the combat ends. Each cavalier’s challenge also includes another effect which is listed in the section describing the cavalier’s order.
Mount
A cavalier gains the service of a loyal and trusty steed to carry him into battle. This mount functions as a druid’s animal companion, using the cavalier’s level as his effective druid level. The creature must be one that he is capable of riding and is suitable as a mount. A Medium cavalier can select a camel or a horse. A Small cavalier can select a pony or wolf, but can also select a boar or a dog if he is at least 4th level. The GM might approve other animals as suitable mounts.
A cavalier does not take an armor check penalty on Ride checks while riding his mount. The mount is always considered combat trained and begins play with Light Armor Proficiency as a bonus feat. A cavalier’s mount does not gain the share spells special ability.
A cavalier’s bond with his mount is strong, with the pair learning to anticipate each other’s moods and moves. Should a cavalier’s mount die, the cavalier may find another mount to serve him after 1 week of mourning. This new mount does not gain the link, evasion, devotion, or improved evasion special abilities until the next time the cavalier gains a level.
Tactician
At 1st level, a cavalier receives a teamwork feat as a bonus feat. He must meet the prerequisites for this feat. As a standard action, the cavalier can grant this feat to all allies within 30 feet who can see and hear him. Allies retain the use of this bonus feat for 3 rounds plus 1 round for every two levels the cavalier possesses. Allies do not need to meet the prerequisites of these bonus feats. The cavalier can use this ability once per day at 1st level, plus one additional time per day at 5th level and for every 5 levels thereafter.

Cavalier’s Order:

Order of the dragon
Cavaliers belonging to the order of the dragon dedicate themselves to a group of like-minded individuals, be it a mercenary company or a small band of adventurers. These cavaliers believe in loyalty and friendship, and are willing to lay down their lives to protect their allies.
Edicts: The cavalier must remain loyal to his allies and must always work to further the aims of the group. He must protect his allies from harm and defend their honor when called into doubt.
Challenge: Whenever an order of the dragon cavalier issues a challenge, his allies receive a +1 circumstance bonus on melee attack rolls against the target of his challenge whenever he is threatening the target. This bonus increases by +1 for every four levels the cavalier possesses.
Skills: An order of the dragon cavalier adds Perception (Wis) and Survival (Wis) to his list of class skills. In addition, whenever an order of the dragon cavalier uses Survival to provide food and water for his allies or to protect his allies from harsh weather, he receives a bonus on the check equal to 1/2 his cavalier level (minimum +1).
Aid Allies (Ex)
At 2nd level, whenever an order of the dragon cavalier uses the aid another action to assist one of his allies, the ally receives a +3 bonus to his armor class, attack roll, saving throw, or skill check. At 8th level, and every six levels thereafter, this bonus increases by an additional +1.
Strategy (Ex)
At 8th level, the cavalier can spend a standard action to grant one of a number of bonuses to all allies within 30 feet (including himself ). The allies must be able to see or hear the cavalier to receive this bonus. The cavalier can grant a +2 dodge bonus to AC for 1 round, a +2 morale bonus on all attack rolls for 1 round, or the ability to move up to their speed as an immediate action once. The cavalier can grant a different bonus to each ally within range, but allies can only benefit from this ability once per combat.
Act as One (Ex)
At 15th level, the cavalier can spend a standard action to move up to his speed and make a melee attack. All allies within 30 feet can also move up to their speed and make a melee attack as an immediate action. This movement and attack can be made as a charge if the movement qualifies. All attacks are made at a +2 bonus (this stacks with the bonus from a charge) and all participants receive a +2 dodge bonus to their AC for 1 round. A cavalier can use this ability once per combat.

Cleric Abilities:

Channeling Positive Energy

Channeling energy causes a burst that affects all creatures of one type (either undead or living) in a 30-foot radius centered on the cleric. The amount of damage dealt or healed is equal to 1d6 points of damage plus 1d6 points of damage for every two cleric levels beyond 1st (2d6 at 3rd, 3d6 at 5th, and so on). Creatures that take damage from channeled energy receive a Will save to halve the damage. The DC of this save is equal to 10 + 1/2 the cleric’s level + the cleric’s Charisma modifier. Creatures healed by channel energy cannot exceed their maximum hit point total—all excess healing is lost. A cleric may channel energy a number of times per day equal to 3 + her Charisma modifier. This is a standard action that does not provoke an attack of opportunity. A cleric can choose whether or not to include herself in this effect.
A cleric must be able to present her holy symbol to use this ability.
Spontaneous Casting

A good cleric (or a neutral cleric of a good deity) can channel stored spell energy into healing spells that she did not prepare ahead of time. The cleric can “lose” any prepared spell that is not an orison or domain spell in order to cast any cure spell of the same spell level or lower (a cure spell is any spell with “cure” in its name).
An evil cleric (or a neutral cleric of an evil deity) can’t convert prepared spells to cure spells but can convert them to inflict spells (an inflict spell is one with “inflict” in its name).
A cleric who is neither good nor evil and whose deity is neither good nor evil can convert spells to either cure spells or inflict spells (player’s choice). Once the player makes this choice, it cannot be reversed. This choice also determines whether the cleric channels positive or negative energy (see channel energy).

Cleric Domains:

Charm

Granted Powers: You can baffle and befuddle foes with a touch or a smile, and your beauty and grace are divine.

Dazing Touch (Sp): You can cause a living creature to become dazed for 1 round as a melee touch attack. Creatures with more Hit Dice than your cleric level are unaffected. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Wisdom modifier.

Charming Smile (Sp): At 8th level, you can cast charm person as a swift action, with a DC of 10 + 1/2 your cleric level + your Wisdom modifier. You can only have one creature charmed in this way at a time. The total number of rounds of this effect per day is equal to your cleric level. The rounds do not need to be consecutive, and you can dismiss the charm at any time as a free action. Each attempt to use this ability consumes 1 round of its duration, whether or not the creature succeeds on its save to resist the effect.
Domain Spells: 1st—charm person, 2nd—calm emotions, 3rd—suggestion, 4th—heroism, 5th—charm monster, 6th—geas/quest, 7th—insanity, 8th—demand, 9th—dominate monster.
Defense
Granted Powers: Your faith is your greatest source of protection, and you can use that faith to defend others. In addition, you receive a +1 resistance bonus on saving throws. This bonus increases by 1 for every 5 levels you possess.
Deflection Aura(Su): Once each day, you can emit a 20- foot aura for a number of rounds equal to your cleric level. Allies within the aura gain a +2 deflection bonus to AC and combat maneuver defense.
Aura of Protection (Su): At 8th level, you can emit a 30-foot aura of protection for a number of rounds per day equal to your cleric level. You and your allies within this aura gain a +1 deflection bonus to AC and resistance 5 against all elements (acid, cold, electricity, fire, and sonic). The deflection bonus increases by +1 for every four cleric levels you possess beyond 8th. At 14th level, the resistance against all elements increases to 10. These rounds do not need to be consecutive.
Domain Spells: 1st—shield, 2nd—barkskin, 3rd—protection from energy, 4th—spell immunity, 5th—spell resistance, 6th—antimagic field, 7th—deflection, 8th—mind blank, 9th—prismatic sphere.

If it eliminates me from the running that's cool but I have never been a fan of the try out sessions. As I said I have a number of active games with the oldest being wow 5 years now. I am in to of GM Rednal's games. If you know his games or submission process he is heavy on story an RP. You are welcome to look through my games and judge on that or not. Thanks for the consideration either way.

Ieleah Yelah, Half Elf Ranger Investigator character sheet. I bumped up Half-Elf to 15 RP.

Wasn't sure what to do with Multi-talented Half Elf Racial trait in a gestalt game. Since it's high powered I just went with the most optimistic reading that I can take two FCB at every level. Easy enough to change.

As a free action, he can expend one use of inspiration from his pool to add 1d6 to the result of that check, including any on which he takes 10 or 20. This choice is made after the check is rolled and before the results are revealed. An investigator can only use inspiration once per check or roll. The investigator can use inspiration on any Knowledge, Linguistics, or Spellcraft skill checks without expending a use of inspiration, provided he’s trained in the skill.

Inspiration can also be used on attack rolls and saving throws, at the cost of expending two uses of inspiration each time from the investigator’s pool. In the case of saving throws, using inspiration is an immediate action rather than a free action.

Trap finding: An investigator adds 1/2 his level to Perception skill checks made to locate traps and to Disable Device checks (minimum 1) (1). An investigator can use Disable Device to disarm magical traps.

Background:

My father is an elf, my mother was human.

That, I think, tells you most of what you need to know about me. But, if you insist, here's the rest of it.

My name is Ielah Yelah and my mother, may the gods grant her peace, was a human; a druid who looked after a region on the Southern edge of Brevoy that border the Stolen Lands. It did not take her long to notice my father, who has lived a very long time, when he decided to build himself a hermitage in an isolated spot within her range.

For different reasons they had decided to live solitary lives, but in each other, they found kindred spirits and solace and companionishop and, not very much later after they met, I was born.

It was a good life, for a few decades, my mother still ranged across the region to carry out her duties but her home base was always the cabin of my father where he increased his knowledge of alchemy. When I was older I started spending time with both, learning the ways of nature from my mother while learning about elves and alchemy from my father. I went with my father to Oleg's trading post whenever he needed to replinish supplies and once even went with him to New Stetven. Though I liked it well enough, unlike my mother, who avoided cities like the plague.

It was upon our return from this visit that we discovered that my mother had not been back to our home for longer than expected. We set out searching for her and, after quite a while, discovered that she had died while trying to root an infestation of undead deep in the forest.

To say it was a difficult for us would be an understatement. We retreated with my mother's remains, buried her as she would have wished, and then, my father and I took our revenge. He had been a warrior before he was an alchemist and we went back and finished what my mother had started. I had learned much from him but even then I was shocked and the obsession with which he cleansed the corrupted grove of undeath that had claimed mother.

I gained some measure of peace from knowing we had done what my mother had wanted though I retain my hatred for all things undead. But my father seems spent. I think the difference is that I had never blamed myself for what happened but he did blame himself. Or perhaps he had expected to lose my mother to human old age in a few more decades rather than violence. Whatever the case may be he has become, faded. He seems fine on the surface but I can tell that he is less vital than before.

When I got wind from Oleg's that there is a new expedition heading into the Stolen Lands I signed up. I know my skills will be valuable for one thing. For another, I hope that something different happening to our immediate South might revive my father's interest in life. He was always, tragically, fond of the shorter lived races after all.

Ielah is a tall half-elven woman. Will describe more when I find an alias I like if I'm chosen :)

I really like tying a character's mechanics to their backstory and I think that worked fairly well here. I've been trying to get to play this switch hitter ranger for a loooong time now! But she never gets picked!

Vetra Nemrax wrote:

”Care to include me on those drinks?” she said with a thrum of her voice, eyes taking Octavius in for a moment before flashing a toothy draconic grin to the gathering. ”Pardon my intrusion,” she gave a little polite tip of her head, a talon coming to her nose, a habit she had developed over her many travels, ”Vetra, it’s quite a pleasure to enjoy the evening with all of you. I dare say, I hope to have a challenge out of at least one of you in the Lei Shin…” At this she chuckled, flashing Kiera a sly wink before turning her attention shortly to Gromugni.

”Elemental Planes? Now why would such a stocky fellow be messing there?”

"Oh, you know, a little bit of this and that." Gromugni, clearly happy at the prospect of some intellectual conversation, slightly puffs out his chest.

"I happened to hear about some peculiar scrolls lying about in the Earthen Reaches, or so some sprite fellow told me. I was more than glad to go check it out myself! Never could pass up a jaunt into the belly of the beast as they say!" He shuffled around some papers stuck into his belt, gave his belly a small pat, and continued to drone on about peculiar magical oddities he saw in the Plane of Air, something to do with a djinn, and the rest becomes unintelligible.

So many former adventurers here today a sleek gray skinned man grins from a nearby table exposing his gleaming teeth. He looks human, but looks can be deceiving, especially in this place and his shark like smile proves him to be... something else.

And current ones too he continues sliding his eyes over the chatty Paladin My word. Personally speaking I found it so much easier to acquire power by other means. But the man takes a long sip from the glass in his hands, draining it of the dark red liquid within, To each their own.

@ Azih: Cash in your multi-talented, you can't have more than one FCB per level.

Keria nods, looking at the gathered talent. Though the words of the humans, or human looking seems to have hit a nerve with her. OR was it pain.

"Ladies never give their age, nor are asked it. I am not one, but to hear talk of letting children and grandchildren take on your role?" She shakes her head, revealing that not all her hair is tightly bound up in the braid." I have had many lovers, yet none provided children. All was great times. But still, one can wish that those of us with talent could adventure just once more, once more to feel the... the taste of excitement. The worry over a poisoned trap. I can not say I can do that anymore. So while age may not hinder me yet, experience does. Maybe we will gather again, only next time it would be TO adventure once more."

She smiles fondly, for no matter what their talents, all have made it to the grand stage of life. All had money, all had the best outfit and equipment they wanted..... but when was the last time any of us had went on an adventure?
I bet the humans weren't even born when I stopped traveling. Keria, your getting old girl. Maybe it would be best to start learning magic, or something else.

@Layith; the conceit for right now is that we are running a little side card game, not the main tournament. Someone asked Octavius to deal them in so, as a social chameleon, he slid into the role of croupier, though he'll be playing too. Just killing time before the big showdown!

"You know, I don't really think there's such a thing as a 'former' adventurer...just ones on breaks, I've found that easily attained power is easy to abuse, myself...at least in the hands of mortals."

"Keria, may I ask a personal question?"

Without really waiting for a response, Octavius continued.

"The no children bit...is that a matter of choice?"

A door not too far from the bar on the opposite end of the room from where people had begun to gather for little game of chance, quietly swings open to reveal the silhouette of stocky fellow. As he steps inside the light reveals him to be a rather aged dwarf with streaks of silver starting to pepper his wheat blonde hair. He wore a beaten and weathered leather wide-brimmed hat, and his bright blue eyes were framed by crow's feet. His heavy soled boots thudded on the floor and his long leather duster coat swayed this way and that as he crossed the room over near where others, and after slinging a long metal tubed weapon with a wooden hilt off of his shoulder, he propped it against the couch and sat down with a groan and a popping of bones.

He breathed a deep, heavy side and reached into his coat to pull out a tindertwig, a long-stemmed pipe, and a bit of tobacco that he started to pack his pipe with. He struck the tindertwig off his thigh and lit the pipe, taking several long drags from it, and then exhaling a large cloud of clove-scented smoke. He looked over to his strange weapon and began to mutter softly to himself. "Well Matilda, I neva' thought I would eva' make it to this place. Now that I 'ave seen it, not so sure I eva' wanna leave now."

He smiled warmly and pulled the tool into his lap, patting the implement as one would a fond and trusted companion. He then turned his attention to the card game that was beginning to take place nearby, taking another drag from his pipe as he listened to the conversation beginning to unfold.

Keria shrugs. It was not for a lacking of trying with her most recent partner. She thinks on it, for she had a somewhat open relationship with her partner of a few years now.
"Maybe it is the gods telling me that I am not yet done adventuring. For once I do have one, I will have to give up exploring tombs and ruins. So for now maybe it is the best. Even though my partner may wish otherwise, we would not be together if I wasn't who I was, and she wasn't who she is."

She twirls a loose coin, awaiting the hand and seeing all the potential new friends. Or adventuring partners. Maybe we can start up an old adventure guild. We only provide advice or show how things are done, for a percentage

@Adrian BOooooo! :(. Alright like I said easy enough to change.

The grey skinned man passes his hand through his slick black hair as he lounges back on his chair and adopts an amused expression as he responds to Octavius. Ah, all power is easily abused. And I'm not mortal. Not really. So that's alright too.

The man then shifts his attention to the latest addition to the growing congregation. Ah, yet another adventuring sort. Is there some sort of promotion John is running that I'm not aware of? Trade in one goblin pelt for a drink? Hrmmmm?

He raises his drink back to his lips to hide, poorly, a sardonic grin.

Vetra could only chuckle at Octavius reply, two talons placing themselves at her smiling lips. ”Well I do hope that you play your cards right as it would be rather boring to find another unskilled player. But…” smirking as she let her words dangle, taking a step back, ”I prefer to not flaunt my hand openly before the main event. You might glean more than I’m willing to risk.” She gave a the man a slight wink before taking another step back to find a chair, to watch rather than play.

Taking a mug of ale that was offered to her by a servant she would settle in and turn her attention fully to the stocky dwarf, a genuine smile being shown. Prospects for an intellectual discussion always intrigued her and this would be a nice way to pass the time before the tournament actually begun.

”Sounds like it was more than just a little bit of this and a little of that! I’m pretty sure your little fellow helps keep you from putting your fingers where they don’t belong?” she would say after his little ramble, ”Though I suspect it's quite the opposite isn’t it?”

”Say, have you been to the realm of fire? It’s quite a cozy place to be, though I believe if you can’t handle a bit of fire on your flesh it could be quite annoying place to visit. I went searching for a blade called “Durmagons Grace”, though unfortunately I’m still on a bit of a hunt for it!”

Layith smiles.

"I suppose it is a matter of philosophy. Some people feel that all life is an adventure! In that case you never stop adventuring. It depends on how you see things."

"But my days of kicking in doors and slinking around in caverns are behind me. I no longer go out looking for trouble, though it finds me occasionally."

Layith looks at his cards and folds, as if the game is interrupting his conversation, which is more important.

"And while I do have power, I do not consider it have been 'easily attained.' It always seemed to be an uphill battle. Every time an enemy was defeated, a stronger one appeared. Strange how that works. I got tired of it."

fatmanspencer wrote:

Layith chuckles. "My dear, do as you will. The gods do not know everything. Mortals are entitled to their own goals."

"The plane of fire is a fascinating place. I have only been there a few times. It is not difficult to visit if you have the right magic, but I hardly ever have the time to play tourist. Besides, My own demiplane takes up most of my attention. I have it almost the way I want it."

"But my friend, if you can afford to be in this place, surely you can commission a sword to be made for you, which would spare you all that grief. Or does it have some personal significance to you?"

He turned his attention to the new companion that graced his attention. He took his pipe from his mouth and tapped out the contents into an ornate ash tray that seemed to be made from gold. He fished a rag from one of the numerous pockets in his coat and started to buff his interesting mechanical implementation. He gave the speaker almost an appraising look, before his eyes widened some, geninely shocked for a moment before regaining composure. "Nay lass I dunna know if I 'Ave eva' been to that realm. But I do find ye to be far more int'resting yerself. Can ye tell me more about ye?" He began to polish his tool as he listened to her.

gonna try my best to rp when I can, if it seems clipped atm it's cause posting from mobile blows hard chunks lol

Could everyone put the RP in spoiler tags please? Its hard to find game related content while sifting through text walls.

I would suggest that too or moving this to discussion. Once the game starts it should get quickly buried.

[spoiler="Vetra in Particular"]The flurry of activity, people coming and going, talking, joking, singing and cursing, it was a little hard to keep track of the coversations whirling about him. He'd have to keep an eye on his purse, the atmosphere and fast pace was enough to make a man become distracted with ease.

People jumped to conclusions here quickly too, they caught sight of a holy symbol and a blade and suddenly he was a paladin. Tempers were frayed here, held at bay by the rules. He had no doubt the daemon would happily make sure he never stepped out the door, a man needed to keep his wits about him, a clever daemon with honeyed words could do more damage than ten in a fight.

Talk of a magic blade caught his attention "Do you think the blade is still somewhere on the Plane of Fire or are you in need of researching more leads for it? What enchantments or historical value does it have which gives it such value for you to go to such trouble?"

Point taken. Move the RP to here. It can continue until character selection occurs.

With this many interested players, maybe another GM will step forward... but that's just my hopeful wishing.

Alrighty folks, we've got enough people that I'm doing to close up applications early. Deadline is now this friday, 08/11/2017 at 2359 EST.

@ DM Skull
How much would a book on a special material cost?
How much would a schematic cost?
Can I roll Craft before the game to see if I know any schematics?
Thank you in advance

Also how do you want us to format our tag lines?

I think I'm going to back out of this one. You've got a lot of pretty great submissions, and after this morning I've realized I might have a little too much on my plate for another Kingmaker game - even one as awesome and different as this one is. Best of luck, everyone!

Oh shit. Better work faster.

For you consideration!

Here is what I have so far. A lore Warden/Slayer. She will be a hunter monsters and crafter of weapons and armor. The crafting rules intrigue me. They sound a lot like the ones from Witcher 3. Kill some stuff, loot the body and make something amazing out of it using the magical properties inherent in creature. Or combine things for greater effect. I had an idea for a character much like that and now I get the chance to put it on paper (figuratively speaking). I will be using the Master Craftsman feat to qualify for that later though. A non-magical, magic item crafter always sounded cool. No gear yet and still having trouble settling on a backstory but I'll get there by tomorrow.

Concept: Martial build with reasonable skill monkey usefulness and will be a crafter of Magic Arms & Armor at 5th

Welp, I'm out then. Have fun, everyone.

I'm going to gracefully bow out as well. I've just not been able to get this character to a point that I like. Good luck with the campaign though, it looks like it is going to be a blast.

Finally done. Right in the nick of time too. Still need some gear but the important pieces are finished.

Okay, that makes it easier. Heh. I was actually in a similar setup not too long ago with a CR "5" creature.... I break the game sometimes....

Anyway, Arthur is mostly inspired by Sherlock Holmes, with a few sprinklings of the 10th Doctor and Darth Tyrannus (No, I didn't (completely) hate the Prequels. Fight me.). Hmmm... New character intro coming later.

Side note: I'm not really a huge fan of RP in the recruitment, but I'll take part because I know it'll increase my chances of getting in. Just my 2 cp.

How did you put spoilers inside spoilers?

Can I really do this:

Spoiler:

Hey what are you doing today

Spoiler:

Hello, are you having fun

Yeah the template system is a bit messed up you can make a creature young and advanced For a +8 Dex with functionally no penalty.

###
I asked because before I couldn't do it it seems that now I can as long as I don't add Names

Basically, that's how you do it (now that I have a minute). So long g as the outside spoiler isn't named and the inside one is (or vice Versace) you can stack spoilers.

@ Daedalus: huh that is really neat and good to know, I new there had to be a way of stacking them.

I have the pride, the privilege, nay the pleasure of introducing to you Valron, Cleric of Shelyn, Knight of the Order of the Dragon and the Son of the great Gerold Rogarvia. May he create a name for himself in the river kingdoms that rivals that of his father.

Pretty much all of this has been put in other posts but I wanted to consolidate it into an alias and finish buying gear and spell checking the background.
