Where on the map would Vane be to set up the stump removed?
I'm asking because Calliae would refuse to remove the cloud if Vane would be on our end or in the cloud to set up the stump remover. In that case she'll dismiss it the moment Vane reaches them again.
Besides, wouldn't shooting hobs at full longbow range only draw attention?

Raska is staying with the refugees until he can recover from his injuries so I probably won't have anything to add for him until the next big thing happens.
In my honest opinion I feel that this little bridge scenario has become a tad long in the tooth, but that isn't to say I'm not still invested in the game.

You're only saying that because you spent so much time getting beat down lol

Edvard plans to pull rear guard to make sure the others make it across safely. We can wait with bows on the other side of the bridge and shoot anyone who tries to mess with the stump remover though.

To all my games:
My wife had an emergency c-section at 6 am EST this morning at 35 weeks and 45 years old. Robbie is 3 lb 11 oz and in the NICU. Both are ok.
I don't know what kind of access to here I will have for the next while. I don't have a smart phone or laptop currently. Please bot me as needed and if you feel the need to remove me, I won't be offended. Things are going to be hectic the next few weeks but I do intend to return to my games.
Thank you.

Wow, William I am glad to hear everyone is doing alright. My wife is due in a few short weeks with our second boy so I can relate! You take care of your family and we'll be here when you return.

I picture you sitting with your fingers steepled as you look at two big buttons labeled "He Ded" and "I Ded."
Edvard Maldeen |
We probably should run. I'm not doing so well.

This is when Quinn would throw his hands up and say, "That's what I've been saying from the start!"

One time, I was describing the cave my PCs were traveling through and I mentioned a small stream of water. Four members of the party took it as a raging river and spent an hour trying to figure out how to cross without getting swept away while the fifth kept trying to help me explain that it was something they could, literally, step across.
Eventually, the 5th guy made a big show about jumping across and the party freaked out saying that the fighter in plate armor shouldn't be able to make the jump this Mississippi River wannabe.
To this day when they get stuck at something that is inconsequential I just say "Remember that stream?" And they take it as a cue to move on.
Is this our stream?

And you guys get 120XP more for bringing down the bridge.

I don't think I'd describe trying to hold the bridge as inconsequential, at least in terms of what it meant for the PCs - possible XP, not wanting to give up until you had no choice, making sure that you feel like you held the invaders as long as possible - but ultimately, yes, ending the scene was entirely in your hands. Other than possibly boring Raska ;), I'm fine with how things went.
Quinn Fainlor |
I hadn't meant that the bridge was inconsequential. I just meant that we were making the situation more difficult than it had to be.
Sidenote: Quinn keeps coming off as an asshat and I swear that's not what I had intended!

Okay, from here til the end of this book of the AP, you guys are kind of in the driver's seat as to what happens next, where you go, etc. There will be outside events that will happen regardless, but you're really going to be the ones making the decisions.
Under the Campaign Info tab, you'll see the list of everyone you have rescued, along with a list of various tasks you can assign your followers every day. If you want to just try to move the band, the group as a whole makes about 8 miles of progress a day through the forest.
Of immediate interest might be temporary shelter in the forest. The Fangwood Forest and Nirmathas in general are temperate, with frequent light rains. Shelter can be as simple as an abandoned home, a cave, a lean-to, a ruin, a tent. If a shelter option isn’t immediately available, a character can construct a temporary shelter sufficient for one Medium-sized creature or two Small-sized creatures with a successful DC 15 Survival check and 1 hour’s work; for every 2 points by which this result exceeds 15, the shelter can accommodate one additional Medium creature or two additional Small-sized creatures.
(Note that this set of rules is different from what's in the Campaign Tab - that's because what's in the Campaign Tab takes all day but produces something that will last for at least several days' shelter, while this will basically just cover one night, but only takes an hour to get set up.)
Sleeping without a shelter is cold and often wet, exposing a character to the elements and leaving her fatigued the next day. If she sleeps without shelter a second day, she awakes exhausted, which persists until she can find shelter to rest in for a night.

Sorry, guys, my work locked me out of Paizo a couple of weeks ago, and my time outside of work to be online has been really really limited recently. I apologize profusely. I am going to keep trying to keep the game going, but I think I should warn you that the pace is going to be really slow - I likely won't be posting more than two-three times a week. If that's too slow for you guys, I understand.
Edvard Maldeen |
So, just so we can get an accounting, Does someone have a total count of our refugees and provisions? I can go back through the gameplay thread if I need to, but if someone else has it, it'll save time.
Edvard Maldeen |
Fine then, make it easy for me =P
In all seriousness, we have just about enough food to feed all of the NPCs for 2 days on full rations or four days on half.
Shisumo |
Hey guys. I apologize for the lengthy absence. I've been dealing with some pretty serious health issues recently, and they've kept me away from a lot of things, but in particular I have had little time for the forums. I'm getting treatment now, but it's likely to be a long time before I'm back to where I should be. I am sorry for being gone with such little notice, and it's been a blast to play with all of you.
Edvard Maldeen |
Good luck to you sir! Please remember to hide the campaigns you're gming, so they don't show up in our active lists.
Again, best wishes on your speedy recovery.
