"Perhaps, there were three of them, and two of them looked rather scared of the third. That one had a big mouth full of teeth and the legs of a dog," Dewi replies, "All three of them were rather ugly, and I'm not sure I could create an illusion that would get them to fight."

Vigny Olafursdottir |

"Well, it looks to me like our problem isn't so much being seen if we try sneaking back down to the town as it is being seen no matter where we move from here. So, if we go forward, we'll be seen sooner or later and we fight our way back to where we left off yesterday. If we go back, maybe we're seen and maybe we're chased, maybe not."
Once we're away, we can sneak again. They might not be very bright, but I doubt they're thinking we're gone. They already know we're somewhere, so the somewhere we choose should be the one they're least likely to expect."
"I figure at the worst trying to go and find the secret passage is about the same as trying to sneak through them to the castle. In both cases we'd end up fighting the sentries."

Soliana of the Rose |
"Well...in that case...maybe Dewi could cause a distraction so we can sneak away and go look for the secret passage?" Soli suggests. "They don't have to fight each other, they just have to take their attention away from the gatehouse and the walls for a few minutes. I don't know, maybe um...throw a rock at the big one with all the teeth?"

Randal Cupshot |

"I agree with Jerukh. Avoiding them would be quickest for us, but leaves them to harass others in the future. Facing them is the hard way, but it guarantees they won't be creeping up behind us." Randal offers.

Vigny Olafursdottir |

Vigny is completely puzzled by the others' determination to just repeat yesterday again, but she supposes the castle will surely have to run out of corbies and lizard people eventually if they keep chipping away at them.
"'The hard way.' Yep, that sums it up nicely. We came here for Ameiko, and now Reiko also, not this. But Ameiko is more your friend than mine, so if you can put up with the extra trouble and delay, fine, let's do it up."

Emiliana Vasilescu |

"Figuring out vhat's happening to Ameiko is my number vun priority," Emi answers the Ulfen with a nod, "but, as much as I hate to say this, Randal is right, for vunce. If ve leave these guards alife ve may just hafe to fight them later anyvays, and ve might not get any say in the circumstances that vay..."
Yesterday ve accidentally found a good system for getting in... ve could repeat it now? Duvi could fly up and use his telepathy to let me know vhen its safe to climb the ladder to the top of the vall, then ve take out the first patrol as kvickly as ve can. Vhen the other patrols spot us, Randal and Jerukh can attack those below vhile the rest of us deal vith the others on the vall?"

DM-Salsa |

The waiting is interminable as you the the heavy comp and clatter of disgruntled feet overheard not five minutes after Dewi goes to keep a look out. Finally, Emi receives the all clear.
I'm assuming that you're going to be setting up an ambush for the next patrol. Pick a place on the map (righ'chere use the bottom one) to set yourself and give me a stealth roll with a +5 bonus for having time to set this up and Dewi letting people know if they're derrière is sticking out. :P
Also, feel free to get clever with it. This game's running on rule of cool mostly.

Soliana of the Rose |
Once the group settles on an ambush spot, Soli attempts to move along as quietly as she can...
Stealth: 1d20 - 2 + 5 ⇒ (14) - 2 + 5 = 17
...and actually does pretty good, for her! At least she doesn't go tumbling off the wall.
____________
On mobile so just move Soli to where she needs to be, please!

Randal Cupshot |

Randal tucks back into a nook, flipping his cloak from its normal colorful pattern to the inverse, a grey matching the stone almost perfectly. After melting into the wall, he readies his bow.
stealth: 1d20 + 5 + 10 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 5 + 10 - 2 = 33
I moved Soli to a frontish melee ambush spot. feel free to pick a different one

Vigny Olafursdottir |

Vigny creeps (kinda sorta) across the way and flattens herself against the wall where it rounds back to give cover. She's ready with her sword gripped in both hands, hoping this fight will be over to quickly for her to really need her tankard.
Stealth: 1d20 - 1 + 5 ⇒ (2) - 1 + 5 = 6
What? That's SO not fair! I had a 13 before! :p

DM-Salsa |

Waiting on Emi and Jerukh. I'll give them until tomorrow since I know they're busy.

DM-Salsa |

Jerukh Stealth: 1d20 + 2 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 5 = 14
Perception: 1d20 - 5 ⇒ (6) - 5 = 1
The stench is the first thing you notice, though it is not as bad in the open as it was inside. Next was the growling, grumbling the three exchanged, those that knew the tongue of dragons could get the general gist of the conversation, namely that this was a waste of time. Distracted and grumpy, they don't notice any of you as they walk onto the ramparts of the gatehouse.
No fort save this time. Please mark where you want the trogs to get to before springing your ambush. I forgot to ask for that bit. Also, go ahead and take a surprise round on these guys. Remember that you can charge up to your speed/movement/whatever that's called in Pathfinder.

Randal doesn't care where we engage them, as long as he has at least 10' between himself and them. In the suprise round, he activates Inspire Courage.
As the others spring the trap, Randal begins a story about an old, fat, lazy lizard who complained about the rocks under his feet so much, he never saw the hawk circling above him.
Standard action to activate inspire courage

Emiliana Vasilescu |

Emi waits until the stinky lizardmen are on there platform, where the small towers will make it harder for the other patrols to see that anything is amiss. Once they reach that point, she steps forward and slashes at the center lizard with her scarf.
attack (vs FF), IC: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 7 + 1 = 26, for: 1d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 3 + 1 = 6

Jerukh Hörnungr |

Ditto - not fussed on the trigger point
As the trogs come marking past, Jerukh considers throwing a bomb at the pack of reptilians, then as Emi dances into close quarters with them, he growls;
"Ach... Cannot risk scalding Emi!"
The alchemist instead moves forward, drawing his darkwood cudgel as he goes;
Move + Draw Club

Soliana of the Rose |
As Emi slashes at one of the patrolling trogs, Soli steps forward and tries to slice at another with her glaive.
"Sorry...we're in a hurry!"
Glaive vs. Red: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
____________
Soli takes a 5 foot step to her current position and then tries to attack.

Vigny Olafursdottir |

Vigny stays plastered against the wall not moving a muscle until the lizardmen are almost past her. She then steps over to cut off their retreat if they should try one, and slashes at the last one of them in line.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 - 1 ⇒ (7) + 7 - 1 = 13
Damage: 1d8 + 4 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 4 + 3 = 14
Yup, trying to get caught up. The timing of the boards being down put me in a bind. So many updates tonight!

DM-Salsa |

Yellow: 6 damage
Orange: DEAD!
Jerukh Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Emiliana Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Soliana Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Vigny Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Randal Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Trogs: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5
The troglodyte at the rear never knew what hit him as Vigny lops his head off. Emiliana's slashing grace scores another hit on the middle one while Randal begins to sing his tale and Jerukh readies his club. Soliana nearly overbalances in her haste and cleanly misses the lead troglodyte.
The troglodytes that live are too stunned to respond as the heroes tear into them.
Everyone's up!

"..and too late the lowly lizard realized that the hawk would be last to hear his grumblings..." Randal looses an arrow at bleeding opponent in front of Emi.
longbow, IC: 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 9 + 1 = 13
damage: 1d8 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 1 = 8

Emiliana Vasilescu |

Emi gracefully steps and spins, and dances her way around Jerukh to the far side of the remaining lizard-thing, opposite where Vigny is about to arrive. With another whirl she slashes at it with her multi-colored scarf.
attack (vs FF): 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 7 + 1 = 16, for: 1d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 1 = 10
moving to provide a flank for Vigny, not really being careful though so I’ll provoke if it has combat reflexes. Also, based on what it took to kill the first one I’m assuming Randal killed the second... if that’s not true than I’ll stay put and attack that one instead.

Vigny Olafursdottir |

Vigny quickly moves up past the slain lizardman to attack the next one in line.
Power Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (2) + 7 + 2 - 1 = 10
Damage: 1d8 + 4 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 3 = 15

DM-Salsa |

In the span of time it'd take one to count to ten, all three of the lizards are down. Everything seems quiet for the moment as blood runs in the seams between the stones.
Combat over, where to now?

Jerukh Hörnungr |

Jerukh seems almost relieved not to have drawn blood. He quickly re-belts his club before mulling their actions and the consequences;
"We made short work of them... but it seems a pity we have to resort to such butchery... I wonder if there are magicks or alchemy I can research that would immobilise or debilitate our foes..."

Soliana of the Rose |
"That would be great," Soli huffs, lowering her glaive. "It's a little hard sometimes to try and talk someone into repentance in the middle of a fight," she sighs.
Shooting a quick glance over her shoulder, she adds, "But there's two other patrols, right? We need to either set up another ambush or try and get inside the castle. No matter what, the others will miss these three before too much longer."

Emiliana Vasilescu |

"If ve mofe these bodies vhere they von't be seen, the next patrol should vander right into the same trap," Emi offers, looking to her stronger companions, "in fact it might be efen more effectife next time because the bloody stones could profide a distraction..."
If the others are agreeable, I'll rehide in the same spot

Randal Cupshot |

Randal stows his bow and begins to drag one of the lizards out of sight of the hall.
"We were quick, but not quiet. Be ready for anything. "

DM-Salsa |

Looks like we're setting up for round two. Same deal as last time. Everyone gets a stealth roll at a +5. Going to wait until they stop to investigate the blood stains?

Vigny Olafursdottir |

Vigny quickly helps dump the bodies of the lizardmen off the the outside of the wall. It seems to her by far the best idea, and they smell bad.
"Do we have enough water to wash away the blood? I'd rather they be bored and careless than distracted by something suspicious."
She then quickly reclaims her spot against the wall and waits for the next patrol.
Stealth: 1d20 - 1 + 5 ⇒ (16) - 1 + 5 = 20

Jerukh Hörnungr |

Jerukh produces a small sponge from his alchemical equipment;
"It is best used for potions and tinctures... but will work with blood I think."
He proceeds to try and soak up some of the blood, squeezing it clear out of clear sight. (He saves a small portion of the trog blood to feed his leeches.)
Once done he'll assume the same spot, cudgel readied;
Stealth: 1d20 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (5) + 2 - 1 = 6 :\

Randal Cupshot |

Randal does his best to help clean up and then hides and readies his bow instead of a story this time.
stealth: 1d20 + 5 + 10 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 5 + 10 - 2 = 20
readied longbow attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Emiliana Vasilescu |

Emi glances around as if she were a lookout while the others dispose of the bodies and blood. Then she slips back into her former hiding spot.
stealth: 1d20 + 3 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 3 + 5 = 21
Jerukh- it looks like you forgot the +5 circumstance bonus?

Check - head's fried from work. +5 brings it to a lofty 11 lol :)

DM-Salsa |

Bluff: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (15) - 1 = 14

Vigny Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Randal Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
The three Dire corbies grumble and complain as the move deeper into the net, seemingly oblivious to the danger
They definitely spotted something. Their stride is too tense and eager for then to not know. What do you do?

Vigny Olafursdottir |

Sorry, I got busy and lost track of things. I don't see their specific location on the map, but if they're close enough for us to see them them, they would certainly see any movement from us right? Same with communication? I don't see any options aside from sticking to our current plan aside from just rushing them. I don't see how rushing them improves things, so I guess I'm for sticking to the plan unless I'm wrong about the situation in some way.

DM-Salsa |

True, but they don't seem worried, more like bullies looking oto pick a fight, so it may be that they only saw one or two of you.
