Couple of announcements:
I've gotten the itch to run Jade Regent, and I'm keeping the recruitment pool to anyone who's in one of my games. I'm looking for four more players. I'll be posting a link to the recruitment thread in a little bit.
I was at a Bible study tonight, and that will probably be taking up my Wednesday nights for the foreseeable future. Just a heads up.

DM-Salsa |

And in the big fight I just ran for the RotRL game, I only managed to knock out 1 character with a dozen and a half goblins and a mini-boss. :|
Oh well, as I said, if this goes south (well, further south) I have a back up plan.

Paulus Westland |

Goblins tend to drop a lot faster than 18 HP toughs. :p

Paulus Westland |

Salsa, if ok I will Death's Rebuke anybody who was not at 0 or above after my first one. If it's ok with you, then whoever is still below 0 roll another d4 + 1 when you make your red try post. :)

Paulus Westland |

It was more for healing economy...I can use Death's Rebuke for the d4 + 1 as long as they are below 0.

DM-Salsa |

That's fine, though there are a dozen potions of CLW floating around now.
I think you guys are probably going to be a little over Wealth by level when you hit Second Level. (Not quite enough to get you there in one fell swoop in this encounter, but you'll hit it before too long.) I'm okay with that, though.

Paulus Westland |

Loot sheet is now in my status bar. Let me know if there are any problems viewing it.

The important thing is you toughed it out and made it through. Glad to have you back. :)

Elise Warden |

By the way DMS, I made the switch to the Oath of Venegeance archetype from Divine Defender as we discussed last week. In truth, there is no changes... about the only thing I would like to do differently was I'd probably not have taken Toughness with the Vengeance archetype, and opted for a more offensive feat like Power Attack.
If I could make that change, I'd like to as it would be thematic... but I'll understand if you want to leave things as is.

After a few brief moments, an epiphany comes to him. While he did indeed owe such things to his deity, She might make exceptions for when he had to look at a woman's chest to bear witness. Face blazing, he turns away to resume his pacing.
I just feel I have to point out how hilarious I found that. I'm talking coffee-spraying-on-the-screen funny.

Paulus Westland |

My desired effect entirely. I thought about adding a link to Radiohead's 'Creep' on top of it.

I showed a friend of mine (because he asked what had me laughing so hard) who immediately started chanting "KISS KISS KISS KISS". He's a strange one.
On a similar note, Zev and Mercy have me squee-ing so hard right now. The awkward looks! The barely-there compliments! The moments of just-missing each other's eyes! I can't handle this! *faints from cute*

I really like how Zev and Mercy are working out, and I wasn't planning it. It's clear they are both interested, but they say or do the wrong thing at just the right time to miss each other's attention. It's great too, because I think we are also just off on our cues. Like Zev calling her darling, I didn't even think that it might bother Mercy and neither would Zev, but it played out well. Or when she caught his glimpse, but he wasn't in the state of mind to even look her way, because of his addictions which I don't think Mercy (the PC at least) was aware of.

Elise Warden |

It actually is pretty funny... can you do this indefinitely though, like they did for what felt like forever on Fraser? Seriously, they flogged those awkward (and comedic) moments between Niles and Daphne for like five years.
Wait, I think I just totally dated myself didn't I? XD

DM-Salsa |

I turn 25 in less than two weeks. If I remember right, Fraser was running about the time I was 5. That was about the time I was watching Swat Katz. (I miss that show, and, well, Lets just say that many of the shows on Cartoon Network in the 90s and early 00's I miss.)
On another note, due to some stuff that I won't mention here, posting from me may be a little slow for a while. On the bright side, at least all of the games I'm running are at okay places to stop.

DM-Salsa |

Yeah, it's not as bad as I was afraid of at first, but it's still pretty bad. Worst part is, 100% of the problem is on me and I knew better when I was causing the problem. I'm just blessed to have a mother that doesn't rip my head off for every stupid mistake I make.
And that's all I want to say about it here.

Paulus Westland |

"Kiss Kiss Kiss...oh, I mean, yeah, how strange that guy must be!"
I, too, am enjoying Zev and Mercy's interactions, and the nicknames are getting thrown out. You know you're in tight with someone when they give you a nickname. Or they hate you. Let's hope the former.

Paulus Westland |

An efficient (and appreciated) response to both statements, I'm impressed! :P
On a more serious note, can everyone see the loot sheet? I have it set up to where others can edit it (in case you want to add comments, such as "Zev wants the pretty gem to give to Mercy"), if you have Google Docs. That being said, don't screw up the loot sheet!

Salsa, all the best in dealing with that which troubles you.
Paulus, "Psshh! Do you think me some simpering dolt that is trying to woo a spoiled, delicate princess by buying off her affections with shiny baubles? We are half-orc. If I were to offer a gift, it would be with destroying an enemy of hers or a powerful weapon to strike down her foes."

Nicoletta Scarletti |

I can see the loot sheet just fine. Might not be able to on my iPad or phone, but we'll deal with that when it comes.
In the meantime, let's see if I can edit it...
EDIT: yep, all good. If I ever need to add notes and can't from another device, I'll just wrangle someone else to do it for me. :P

Paulus Westland |

"We're men. Simpering dolt is what we DO. Although blasting apart peoples' faces can do the trick with the right kind of monster, I mean girl."

Paulus Westland |

Well Zev, if Mercy doesn't work out, it looks like you've got a backup plan, now. Although I think you'll wanna work on your Dread Pirate Roberts gig, for that one.

Elise Warden |

Although I think you'll wanna work on your Dread Pirate Roberts gig, for that one.
Ah, another 80's reference... we're flush with them right now, love it.
Edit: Oh yeah, loot sheet looks and works great Paulus.

Mercy Quaalearn |

Merc and Zev are working out pretty well... See Mercy as someone whose frankly taken aback by any interest in her... So she's been a little coy and off-kilter about how to deal with the (welcome) flirtation from Zev.
We'll run with it and have some fun, of course as relationships between the characters develop you know DM-S will intertwine some perilous tropes into the encounters :) Now that will be interesting...
Paulus: Loot sheet looking fine... as fine as 6'1 of rugged half orc alchemist, so it is ;)

lol, I actually stopped and had to check my profile when you said 6'1". I was like, "Wait, is that actually how tall I am?"
As far as their burgeoning relationship, it will be fun once I make it to Master Chymist. He will have two personalities. His non-mutated form is his more human half, and with mutagen his orc heritage really comes out. As two people, he will act differently toward her each way. One he will be more shy and caring, and the other more brazen and self-sure.
On a side note.... wasn't there a mention of 2nd level being close by? *nudge, nudge, wink, wink, Know what I mean? know what I mean?* ;)

What's second level like?

Paulus Westland |

All my DM's keep promising me second level, but none of them has come through, yet. Big teases, they are. Although there was this one time when I actually was leveling up, but the DM cut me off, said I couldn't finish. Turns out I hadn't hit the sweet spot of 1,000, I had come up short.

Nicoletta Scarletti |

Most of my characters have reached second level. Some have gone to third. I have a fourth level character in PFS, and Gideon (Rhasuel) is running a game in which I'm 14th (though we started there).
I'm also playing a 9th level primal companion hunter in my mate's game. Turns out a large-sized bear with evolutions, free teamwork feats, and auto-shaken five times a day is brutal.
But I've felt the "first level funk" many times. Salsa tends to be pretty good, though. Even if the games can be slow moving (see Runelords, with the staggering amounts of roleplay and faffing about), they're awesome fun!
