Next Day
As the Sun begins to crest the eastern boarder light falls onto the Abyssal nature of the world wound. Strange plants hide from the brightening light and odd noises can be heard from a distance. Campfires are burning for making breakfast, a page arrives to summon you all to the command tent, breakfast will be served there.
"We can take another day to recuperate and get things sorted out for how we plan to get into the Citadel without damaging the structure to much. We have to retrieve the Sword of Valor quickly as the powers of it will help keep the Demons away." Irabeth says, Aniva is drifting in and out of sleep on a chair in the back. Sosiel and Aron are looking at Plans to the bridge and in a bit of a hot debate on how to best fix it.
Who wants to talk about Don's Desertion
Tink_
"Acording to a few of my books it is a demiplane within the astral plane. It contains perfect psychic records of every event throughout history. One of the books mentions a way to gain somewhat limited access to those records... If the books are actually correct, I can try gain some insight into the current location of the sword." Tink explains.

I know nothing of this artifact. Can someone share its lore with me. It it an actual sword>? If so what type of sword? And has anyone seen Don?
DM Raltus
The Inheritor herself carried this crimson
banner into battle during the Shining
Crusade. An army commander who carries
the Sword of Valor increases the DV and OM
of her army by 4 against armies of undead
or evil outsiders. Yet the Sword of Valor’s
greatest power lies not in offense but
in defense. Mounted firmly upon an interior wall in a visible,
public place, the Sword of Valor creates a 10-mile-radius area
that bars demons and those who worship demons from using
teleportation spells and effects and imparts on such creatures
a –4 penalty to Armor Class and on all saving throws. Once per
month while the banner is mounted on a wall, a worshiper of
Iomedae within 30 feet of the banner can use it to summon a
planetar to protect the banner and its surroundings for 1 day.
Any nonevil creature that sleeps within a 1-mile radius becomes
immune to fear effects from demons and demon worshipers
for 24 hours.

Tink spends a few moments, preparing, spending 2 mythic power to cast Investigative Mind, Heroism, and then a prepared second level spell on Fox's Cunning. and then decides to think about Azrael's question.

Tink then disseminates the information about the sword before asking again, "Should I try locate the sword through the records?"
Mythic Power 4 Left. Remember if anyone uses a Divination scry within 60ft of me my detect scrying goes off.

"I am about to try and ask a magical library with perfect records of everything, where the sword is." Tink tries to explain.
He closes his eyes and concentrates on the question, What Room in the citadel is the sword of valor in? Another mythic power spent to cast Akashic communion. 3 left.

Tink gets a flash of the Sword of Valor hung in a room with many benches, People stand at attention beside where it is hung. Many people sitting in reverence towards the power of the Sword of Valor.
Another flash and the Citadel is under attack, Demons pour forth from the areas surrounding Drezen, a green clad crusader approaches the Sword of Valor, a second later a giant Wasp appears and mauls one of the guards, the green clad Crusader kills the other with a Glaive that sizzles with dark energy.
Flash and the green clad crusader is handing the Sword of Valor over to what looks like the Storm King, beside him is a Marilith smiling. ”Good job Staunton you have secured Drezen for the Abyss and earned a place within this army.”
Flash and the Sword of Valor is taken deeper into the Citadel, ”We will put it on display only not where they want it.” The Meralith says, ”I have had a duplicate made and we will hang it up in the Citadel where all can see. We won’t inform the masses though.”
Flash and The Sword of Valor is taken through a room of intense heat, the magic of the Sword Protects it from being destroyed but the heat is almost unbearable.
Flash, the Meralith places the Sword of Valor in a room of absolute darkness, ”You are all that survived the trails and have earned the right to guard this time.” A laugh comes out of the darkness.
Tink_
Tink basically springs to action now, "Lynn I am going to need you to protect us from the influence of evil creatures. I will tell you when you need to do so." Asking her to cast prot from evil on all of us
He turns to Azrael now, "Azrael, I need you to see if your alchemist has any sovereign glue. Also, those of your and Lynn's kind are known to be able to shed light. I need one of the two of you do that for me when I tell you. I need you all to meet me at the edge of camp within the minute. Be prepared for a fight and hurry... We are going to go fetch the Sword of Valor."

My ancestry allows the casting of Glitterdust, not light. Azrael explains. I will go and ask the alchemist, but I am not aware of any stores he has laid up. It would likely take days for such a glue to be crafted.
Azrael*
|
Yea, its what I expected. Don't worry about it. I am not sure why we needed it myself. Our wizard hoped you had some for some crazy scheme he had cooked up. don't tell him but I am sorta relieved you did not have any.
Balthazar Borealathon
Blathazar was daydreaming and thinking of sweet revenge when suddenly he noticed the frenzied discussion happening in front of him.
"Wait, we're going to do whatnow?"
Tink_
"The plan is that you do what I asked of you earlier. We are going to get ready for a fight, walk to the citadel, and then I'm going to do some magic, and then we are going to grab the banner, and then we are going to kill whatever tries to kill us, and then I will do some more magic, and we will be back outside."
Lynn Warhaven
"It starts making sense. But I still got the feeling that you have a very detailed order of events on your mind, that don't make it into your explanations. But as my part of the plan seems to be only: kill the bad guys and make sure none of the good guys die, I'm set." Lynn replies, looking at Azrael, Balthazar and Irabeth, to see if she is the only one not getting what the magic part is about.
Azrael*
|
I too am ready. I do hope that you have a solid way out. The paladin replies.
Not sure it will be easy to even walk to the keep. I'll bet a gold piece that we are attacked before we get close enough to Dim Door unless we use an invisibility sphere. Also lets plan for the possibility that we cannot banish the darkness. Who knows what effect it is.
Tink_
If we can't banish it, we try leave.
"Ah yes. Before we leave I have some things for you." Tink says, digging into his pack. "These will enhance your prowess with your bow, the belt will make you more lithe, and the quiver, well..." Tink says as he pulls a bow out of the quiver. "It's bigger on the inside. Just be careful with the belt... it seemed to like me." Tink continues, his town curious, and unsure of how to explain the sensation he felt when working on it.
He gathers everyone around and explains one last time, "I am going to make us invisible now, we are going to make our way to the citadel, and then I am going to move us to the banner. We need to get it, and then decide what to do from there. Those who wish to use magic that will last a while, should do so now, so as to not give away our position later. Lynn, I can't hide your light though. So we need to do that just before we go in. I will tell you."
He turns to Blue and SteelGate "Blue, keep an eye out for anything approaching the camp, and warn SteelGate. SteelGate, keep an eye on Blue for me?"
Tink waits for everyone to cast their spells, casts bulls strength on Lynn, and then casts invisibility sphere on himself.
"We will need to all be in contact once we get to the citadel. Let's go." as he starts to lead the group.
Lynn Warhaven
"My spells don't last forever. I'll wait until we are in close proximity to the point where you magic us inside." Lynn replies.
Once there but still out of earshot of any guards Lynn casts Protection from Evil on all members of the group. Being the only one who voluntarily goes into melee, she casts the scroll of Bear's Endurance on herself. Last she activates her weapon blessing, her protection blessing and the daylight, which she casts on her spiked gauntlet.
Protection from Evil 66rds
Bear's Endurance 65rds left
Bull's Strength how long was the walk?
Good Blessing 8 rds left
Protection Blessing 9 rds left
If because of enemies in sight, casting is an issue giving us away, I start with casting the min/lvl spells when we're still a minute away.
Tink_
Except Daylight, we don't want to walk up glowing.
"Now remember, the banner is our priority. Is everyone ready?" Tink asks once they reach the wall of the keep.
Once everyone confirms, he uses his prepared haste, and then a mythic point to wild arcana a dim-door. Everyone has 7 rounds of haste, except Tink at 6. 2 Mythic points left.
Balthazar Borealathon
Balthazar holds up his finder indicating he just need a minute and then places his hands together and an almost ethereal suit of armour shimmers around him, translucent except for a faint outline caught in just the right light. He nods. "Now I'm ready."
Casts Mage armor which will last for 7 Hours and using a Mythic Point to make it give me +6 and also any Crits or Sneak attack have 50% chance to be turned into regular hits instead.
Azrael*
|
Azrael casts both of his Veil spells and nods he is ready. (Heaven and Positive Energy)
An item with continual light can be bagged to hide it.
Lynn Warhaven
Lynn casts her longer lasting self improvement spells on the way. Bear's Endurance from the scroll, Protection from Evil, that she also casts on her companions. As the group reaches the point closer to the wall where Tink pointed out he wants to work his magic, Lynn finishes her preparations by activating her Blessings and activating her Daylight ability. "Ready" she tells Tink, indicating him to work his magic.
Tink_
Tink nods to everyone, "We all need to be in contact for this to work." once everyone is in contact he concentrates on the dark space he saw in his vision, and then wills everyone to be there.
Mythic power for dim door. 2 Left.
Stealth, for invisibility sphere and not moving: 1d20 + 60 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 60 + 7 = 79
