One more post before I go. Assuming Kilian and Mu both survive the first round of snake attacks, Kilian will try to pummel the one between him and Mu.

Kilian responds by crushing the viper that bit him.

James does nothing but curse at his wet clothing.
Surely These guys can handle a few serpents.
James delays until then end of the initiative order and takes a shot at the snake if the others have not killed it yet.
or not...
let's see firing into melee combat and cover, so -8 total.

Save the bullet for James. The dice roller is on fire for you guys.
Kick the snake must be a childhood game in Tien, because Mu punts the second one a dozen paces out into the lake.
COMBAT OVER
Crossing to the far side is just a matter of time, and soon enough everyone makes it across to where a soggy gunslinger awaits.

"So the rest of you hate snakes, too, eh? Nice job of splattering them, if I do say so myself. Did you fancy a swim, James," the dwarf jokes with the dripping gunslinger.

DM Rah |

A high staccato voice cackles maniacally and calls out from the island.
“Too too late, filthy intruders! All your prancing through my beautiful forest, and nothing for you remains! The beautiful, beautiful sun will do my job for me, destroy your precious lorestone as soon as it rises, and you are failures, humans are always failures, always always.”
Suddenly a small winged fey shimmer into sight about 50' above the stones laughing as it points towards your group. The plants in the area begin moving on their own, reaching out to entangle you.
The whole area becomes subject to an entangle spell. Everyone make a Reflex vs DC 13.

Thought I posted when Kilian moved up, but the post is gone.
Kilian can't escape the writhing plants and is held.

Kilian strains mightily and tears loose from the vegetation. He struggles towards the center of the island.
DC 13 STR check to break free: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
DM R, if you're able could you put the area of the entangle on the map?

Im whipped and am going to turn in early. Please have Hagrym try to attack any enemies he can locate. With magic weapon, he is +5 to hit. 2d6+6 damage, counting my trait and spell. Thanks. I should be on early in the morning.

DM Rah |

The little fey was in the middle of making raspberry noises when James' well-aimed shot blasts it from the air leaving a couple insect-like wings fluttering down.
"No!" The voice cries. "I'll kill you all for that!"
Kilian and Mu notice as they climb the hill that the area around the center rock seems slightly darker, as if resisting the oncoming light of day.
MAP UPDATED with effect areas. Green is entangle.

James should hae moved 4 squares east after his last shot.
He will try to move another 4 squares again on his turn while burning one grit point to load his gun as a move action.
Reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23

DM Rah |

Forgot to mention that everyone in the entangled area needs to make saves everyone round they start in that area.
Mu reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24 success
Mu weaves his way through the magically animated undergrowth and approaches the dark area around the stone. Nothing happens to his pole upon entry, but there is a sudden flash of movement as something comes out from behind one of the standing stones to the east. It flashes by Mu, leaving a small puncture wound in his rear as it goes by and vanishes behind a standing stone to the west.
A numbing feeling spreads from the wound and Mu suddenly feels very drowsy, then crumples to the ground in a deep sleep.

Kilian Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12

Mu Fort Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

If this is like the entangle spell, the AoE is difficult terrain even if you make your save.
Kilian is able to keep the clinging plants from slowing him down too much, as he hastens towards the shadowed area.
Reflex save, including Agility and cloak: 1d20 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 2 + 1 + 1 = 19
I think with a double move I can get out of the entangle and into the darkness; it's two diagonal squares at 3 squares each, then one diagonal square in the shadow.

DM Rah |

Kilian enters the darkened area and notices a smaller stone resting upon the large pillar. It matches a description of the lorestone from Hemzel's journal.
"Stay back, you small-eared oaf!" A blur speeds from the western stones and moves past Kilian, leaving a scratch on his ankle as it passes and speeds off behind the eastern stones. 1 damage
Perception Kilian: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Perception James: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Perception Hagrym: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
??? Stealth: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (17) + 15 = 32
Stab: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
Stab: 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
ROUND 3 - Everyone can go again.

DM Rah |

The dim light recedes when Kilian puts the lorestone away.
"Hey!" The voice calls from the east, then a blurred form springs from its approximate location and speeds across the top of the hill. It stops at Mu's sleeping form and resolves into the quickling seen back at Hemzel's hut.
"Put it back or kiss grampa here goodbye!"
ROUND 3 - Everyone can go again.

"Killing one of us isn't going to prevent the others from making off with your stone, you. Nutjob."
Hagrym tries again to move toward the enemy.
Reflex 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
I think Hagrym can get 40' north with a double move, putting me right in the edge of the spell.

James tries to move to towards Mu but is stopped by the weeds, using what strength he had he forces an arm free and manages to take a shot.
