Rules for Wilderness Travel:

In a given day the group can travel 12 miles.

12 hours each day you will need some protection from the heat.

Armor has 24 hours per level of protection you can divvy up per hour.

Every day:
DC 18 Survival to avoid getting lost
or
DC 12 Survival to follow tracks.

Avoiding getting lost is harder, but you can move further. Following tracks you can move 3/4 the days speed, but is easier. Only 1 person can be on point for this, with assists being allowed. If you fail either of these checks you only make 1/2 process.

Because you have Dr. Solstarni’s notes and the files from Ailabiens 21:2 you have a +2 on these Survival checks.

Weather:
You can use suit’s protection, air bubble, or can make a Fortitude save each hour (DC 15 + 1 per previous check) or take 1d4 nonlethal fire damage. Heavy armor gives a -4 penalty on this. You can roll a Survival at the beginning of the day to provide a bonus to this.

If you take heat damage you suffer heatstroke, (Fatigued condition). These penalties go away when you are healed of the damage.

-2 penalty for each range increment after the first. All weapons can be fired up to 10 range increments away.

Weapon Point attribute: A weapon with this special property is always short range and can’t be fired against targets that are outside the first range increment. If a tracking weapon would hit a ship in an arc that contains a weapon with the point special property, the gunner of the targeted starships can attempt an immediate gunnery check with the point weapon against the incoming tracking projectile using the bonus listed in parentheses in the weapon’s Special entry (instead of her usual bonus to gunnery checks). The DC for this gunnery check is equal to 10 + the tracking weapon’s speed. If the attack hits, the tracking weapon is destroyed before it can damage the ship. A point weapon can be used to attempt only one such free gunnery check each round, but this usage potentially allows a point weapon to be fired twice in a single round.

Yep! I think we just might not be sure of our options when you ask "Where to?" To the station? Somewhere else in the system? Into the Drift? Is the ship fit for travel? Reporting back to the station and Starfinder HQ seems the logical choice.


Yeah. I guess I assumed you would all head back to the station. I was just giving you all a choice.. when the choice really should just be to head back.. Also wanted to give you all a chance to RP after the fight before throwing you al back into a "cut scene" going back to the station.

Next time I have a bit of time I will just throw you into it again. Just wanted to make sure I didn't lose everyone!

GM, would there be a problem if Zam's alma mater were also the Qabarat University of Xenoarchaeology and Xenoanthropology? According to her backstory she's a recent graduate of a university in Qabarat, and she has the Xenoseeker theme. If so, we can fabricate some other university, but it just seems like a good fit?

I believe so. We're all 3rd level now, so we need to think about upgrading our gear before we get in over our heads with more powerful adversaries down the road. That'll be what Tylur focuses on with his share of the money. I'd like to a get a better one-handed melee weapon and a handgun upgrade, if possible. He's meant to be a two-weapon wielder...gun and blade.

What's the split? I honestly don't recall how much we have to spend. So, in terms of shopping, I'm not sure what Tylur can afford.

Everything is not added up yet. The Liquidated Value / Destination column needs to be filled out, then the Credits each should be accurate.

I added the values to the Liquidation Value column for everything that is obvious to sell. That puts everyone at 1573 credits each I think.

MIght want to wait for Zam to give the final number.

Either way you should all look on the sheet for any item you want to keep. Now would be as good a time as any to clean that up. Zam come back to us! :)

I'll try to determine the value of all the gear today. How should I value partially-used resources, like the 12/20 tactical arc emitter? Multiply its value by .6? If that's the case, that's 750 x 0.6 = 450.

Our take will be lower than 1,573, as the "Liquidated Value" column is what we get by selling it (only 10% of value), and I see some boxes currently have 100% liquidated value.


Charges in weapons are not really part of the cost value. So you can ignore that.

If something truly only has uses and not charges to be recharged with battery then yeah, multiply by % available. Though I don’t think you have any like that.

The noqual is all 100% value, not 10%. And the cred sticks, since that is already money.

Just the gear should be less. Hopefully that answers the questions.

The disruptive fusion seal has already been applied to the assault hammer Tylur took from the vesk enforcer for the Downside Kings. Since it's got value vs. undead, I'd like to hang onto it for now. It seems possible we could cross paths with more Eoxians in the future, so it could come in handy...and, it can be reapplied to other melee weapons. Tylur is meant to be a sword-and-gun two-weapon fighter, so he'll always have a melee weapon in hand.

I agree with Tylur. If any players have indeed lost interest, the transition from Book 1 to Book 2 might give us an opportunity to introduce new players? I haven't read any of the AP so I'm not sure...

I had a similar disappearance by another player in a game I'm running. Turned out, the long break had caused the site to no longer show notifications that there were new posts in the thread, so he thought we were on hiatus. Once I PM'ed him, he jumped back in. Hopefully something similar has Dee and Yon held up.

Say, has anyone spent their money yet? No one's replied to the GM's suggestions regarding loot. All the info is still up on the loot sheet, so it's easy to make adjustments. For instance, I was thinking I'd like to buy a static arc pistol, only to notice that one is unclaimed on the sheet!

Claim the arc pistol for yourself then, Zam. I think Sybil picked it up at one point during the Drift Rock battles, but it didn't come into play very often, because there was a close quarters fight and it might've caught some of the rest of us in addition to the enemy.

As for the rest of the sheet, I reviewed it and some of the items still on there kind of surprised me. For instance, didn't Clara reclaim some of the gear we took from her (e.g., the jump jets, tactical shirren-eye rifle, etc.)? I'm not sure all that stuff is legitimately still available to us. But, assuming it is, I think Yon or Dee had their eyes on some of that stuff. That's why I've been reluctant to lay claim to anything until they decide...but if they're not going to remain in the game, more stuff is available.

Tylur did claim the assault hammer and disruptive fusion seal...which can only be applied to a blunt melee weapon, so it made sense. But, long-term the hammer isn't something Tylur will continue to use. I intend for him to purchase a sword somewhere on Castrovel or previously on Absalom Station. I was just waiting to determine his exact funds to know what I could afford.

Given that Nex is suggesting we retain some of the unclaimed gear, I suppose we definitely should hold off on selling it. Tylur's armor can't accommodate the jump jets or the force field unless I switch him to something different...which I can't afford. The spell amps of lesser restoration can be divvied up among everyone (depending on how many we have). And the clear spindle aeon stone should be assigned to someone to be passed around between us as necessary. And, I assume anything labeled "Group" on the loot sheet is something we're keeping (i.e., the azimuth artillery laser definitely needs to be kept around).

It's entirely possible that some items shouldn't be there. My inability to attend to PbP at times in the past months has meant that I haven't been able to pay much attention to the loot document. I'm sorry for that. GM, can you confirm what items of Clara's remain on the doc and should be deleted?

Though, now's a good time to remind us that the loot doc is editable by any of us, and we probably shouldn't be relying on me exclusively to keep it up to date. I'm happy to host it and answer questions about it, though.


So I got a reply from Yon. He was extremely polite, and decided to stay inactive.

So we have lost at least once. I have not heard back from Dee yet.

I did hear back from one of my other players. They are interested, but have not played before so I am going to help verify character and stuff.

I will touch bases back.

As for items, yeah Clara took all of her stuff. No worries on getting a bit behind on the items. Starfinder moves forward with items pretty fast, so it wont break anything to be a bit behind. Lets take Yon's share out of the amount for people. We might want to assume DeeV8 has left too.

It might get a bit messy here, but we will just run with it. Easier to just power through than complicated it too much.
