DM Kludde |

Joesef and Kezia inspect the chest, which doesn't appear to be locked, or trapped. It's not magical.

![]() |

Kezia has the longsword then, Joe likes his scimitar as it was a gift.
OK, I'll open it then. Like a curious child, Joesef flips open the chest but then quickly steps back as if expecting something to leap out at his face again.

DM Kludde |

Joesef opens the chest and steps back, but the something leaping out at his face comes from another direction: a large log, rigged with spikes, swings out from among the trees and hits him straight in the face.
Spiked log: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 231d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
The treasure chest is empty, but it feels a bit wobbly.

![]() |

Nelwin steps up and chants placing a hand upon Joesef's back that seems to burn with a golden glow and races across the lad's skin to eat away at his wounds. Seeing the injury only partially soothed he tuts and raises his angel with sun halo symbol sending forth a ripple of pleasant fresh warmth that finishes the job,
"There you go, good as new. Lets carry on."
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

"Well they do say no harm no fowl! Never really understood that expression, what do birds have to do with it? Though uncooked chickens have always struck me as unnatural. Also why would I want a cake if I wasn't going to eat it to? Humans are strange, but it takes all sorts I suppose."

![]() |

Joesef is starting to rethink the adventuring business.
Why in the world would something like that be out here? The fighter tries to recover what little dignity he felt he had after being slapped in the face again. Thanks for the healing, though. Next time somebody else can open stuff.

![]() |

Celiaea's purple eyes darkened, "We should be very careful. Whoever set that trap is probably not far away... Kettil, any luck with the traps?"
She sets her boot to one corner of the opened chest and give it a firm shove.

DM Kludde |

Giving the chest a firm shove, Celiaea topples it over. Below it, the adventurers find the equipment that was stripped off the guards, judging by its markings with Taldan symbols.
5 leather armour
3 studded leather
mwk chain shirt
2 light wooden shield
7 longsword
2 spear
mwk dagger
3 light crossbow, 25 bolts

The snow becomes increasingly deep in this part ofthe forest, where a windswept gully carves a path through a tree-covered ridge. A soft cascade of snow falls from an overhead branch,
hissing softly as it strikes the ground.

![]() |

Shivcering from the snow, Kezia scowls. "I wish we had been able to find some snow shoes or something back at town."
I've never played in a PFS game before. Do we still keep a large tally of every item we find/loot as in a normal game? I went back and made a spoiler tag on Kezia with all the party loot so far.

DM Kludde |

You can use all the stuff you find for the duration of the game. After that, all the nice items become available for purchase from the chronicle sheet, so if you want to keep an item for the next scenario, you have to buy it from the gold that you found (which is also reported on the chron sheet). Does that make sense?

![]() |

Nelwin wraps himself in layers and mutters darkly as he trudges through the snow.
Probably only need to track the usable loot, Butley can carry 300lbs and so should be able to cover that. Essentially its only relevant until the end of the module when we sell it all off his pack saddle specifically allows him to carry as much as his strength allows. Someone should probably take that MW Chainshirt, probably Celiaea if she can wear it and keep herself at a light load.
Sorry to say it, but I am afraid the Hide Shirt is not legal for PFS play. I note that at least one person has one maybe more?

![]() |

Yeah, I guess not. Seems like there's stuff here from about 8 or so people. Maybe a couple are still alive. Joesef will help load the donkey with the equipment the group decides to take with them.

Doesn't make sense to me... so, we find gold that we can only spend to buy things that we've also already found? Do we tend to find a lot of gold in a society game compared to a normal game? Anyway, yeah, Celiaea will take the chain shirt if no one else wants it.

![]() |

Yes, it does not make sense in game so much, though you can justify it, but its essential to keep everything balanced in a shared world campaign. And yes Society characters will generally end up wealthier than a normal game, especially because at lower levels you can spend 2 prestiege points to get an item worth 750gp or less, most people go with wands.
Honestly its a bit weirder than that, if we find an item we can all buy it. So let's say we found a +1 flaming sword, we can all buy it and Nelwin can buy a small one, but only one of us can use it until the end of the module at hand. But it works well for the shared world keeping everyone's wealth more or less balanced.

DM Kludde |

Repeating this, you might have missed it:
The snow becomes increasingly deep in this part ofthe forest, where a windswept gully carves a path through a tree-covered ridge. A soft cascade of snow falls from an overhead branch, hissing softly as it strikes the ground.
Please roll perception

![]() |

I knew about the magic items, I was mostly asking if we get a standard X amount of gold. I.e., as long as we find the leather armor, its assumed we sell it off and get the gold from it and don't need to track all of that? Or is it simply: "you beat this adventure and get X amount of gold, regardless of whether you stripped the enemies of their mundane items." I guess to be PFS legal, Kezia is now wearing studded leather yay.
Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (9) - 1 = 8

![]() |

A few of the a bit to good items from The Adventurer's Armory and old sources got ditched for PFS, the other notable one, since it comes up a lot, being the Armored Kilt.

DM Kludde |

Introducing the sudoku flip mat...
As the adventurers enter the windswept gully, a nasty, dragon-like creature charges up, pouncing on Nelwin. It bites the gnome, and quickly constricts it, trying to manoeuvre the gnome in range of its vicious claws that will surely rend the poor first-worlder apart.

Moved forward since none of you had the required perception skill :/
In the scenarios, gold is always awarded conditional on certain things occurring (defeating an enemy, finding a particular item, etc). I'm not going to force you to jot down every single fork you take, unless you find that particularly exhilarating. Most of the gold comes from the expensive items anyway, a couple of wayward daggers isn't going to change that much.

![]() |

Delaying until everyone else has gone, baddies does not seem to be on the map? Seeking to 5ft. away from it hopefully into someones vacated "back row" space.
Nelwin writhes like a greased eel and slips from between the creatures claws stepping back away from the beast,
"Hey I'm too hot to handle you stupid lizard!"
Escape Artist: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20

DM Kludde |

It's there now. Sloooow connection.
Nelwin makes his narrow escape as the creature hisses and looks menacingly around.
I forgot to say: everything here is difficult terrain because of the nasty snowy wind. 5ft steps are not going to work.

![]() |

How big is the dragon-thing? And what are the green areas of the map? Swift action activate Spell Dance. Celiaea will move 20ft through difficult terrain straight ahead.
"I know he's annoying, but he's not for eating!" Celiaea shouted at the creature, hoping to get its attention as she ran and drew her longbow.
I meant to attack, but then I remembered I can't move and draw until next level. Crap.

![]() |

And just what is that supposed to be? Joesef keeps seeing more and more strange creatures on this trip. He'll move to the left of the enemy (via the kitty cat's square) and attempt to strike it with his cold iron scimitar!

The thing is medium size. The green areas are trees - my poor attempt at drawing a map.
Celiaea moves at surprising speed through the snowy wind. Joesef finds himself battling his first dragon (-like creature), though his swing fails to connect.

Celiaea, I assumed we were walking with weapons drawn. We've encountered not only dead bodies, but traps. It wouldn't be wise to go around without a naked blade or knocked crossbow!

He still gets the debuff. Hexes are fun like that. It just lasts for only one round insted of the full duration. Unless I cackle madly on my next round.
/evil smile.
Also if no one wants the masterwork dagger I will keep it for the time being.

DM Kludde |

Ah, cool. Cackle madly, then :)

DM Kludde |

Since Ketill hasn't returned, can someone post an action for him and the tiger?

Broken Prince |

Swiftly hanging Snebold's animal focus to the bull, improving the big cat's strength Ketill orders him to the attack barking, "Draebe!". Moving up behind Nelwin he chants a spell healing the arrogant little gnome with a reproving expression.
Snebold bounds through the snow snapping his great jaws at his scaly foe.

Let me know if that's not appropriate, I hope it is as he cannot reach the Terror to attack and only has Cure Lights prepared other than Orisons.

Round 2
Die roller, why do you hate the ENTIRE PARTY. Usually its just me and the others can pick up the slack!
Kezia punches her hilt into the creature's scaled snout and dances away, dropping into a low crouch. She slowly moves back toward it, leaping forward and bringing her blade down toward it with both hands. 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 for 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10.
Her blade skitters off the wyrm's hide and the Pharasma worshipper scowls. She takes a step back, twirling the tip of her blade in the symbol of Pharasma.
"Fate has brought you before our weapons, monster. We are not food for you to feast upon. The Goddess will guide my blade to your heart eventually."
Anyone with Knowledge (Nature)? Pretty sure its a Tatzlwyrm OOC :P

"Variel... you're weird," Celiaea mentioned off-handedly as she ran another 15ft (to the spot three spaces down from the creature) through the heavy snow, and she yells to the rest of the group, "Keep it pinned down if you can! Leave me an opening!"
She pulls her bow level, draws, and quickly fires.
Bow: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 3 - 4 = 101d8 ⇒ 6
Variel, is it -2 to attack rolls or Armor Class?
