The group makes it roughly 40 feet down the tunnel before Abramov and Kalam step on something and an intense gout of flame bursts forth to greet them.

Fire: 5d4 ⇒ (2, 4, 4, 4, 4) = 18

Reflex 14 for half

Fortunately the flames stop shy of engulfing the girls as well.

Ref: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18

Kalam jumps back, feverishly trying to pat out his coat, "S$!+, s+$~, s!@#! Well I guess we're on the right track...", he mutters miserably.

Holding out his charred hand he gestures to Abramov, "You alright doc? Better get the damn wand again. I hope to Cayden this doesn't leave a scar.", he takes a sip from his flask to emphasize his plea.

Once they're ready to go again, he motions the doctor forward, "Try to watch where you step in future, eh?"

Completely oblivious to the trap, so intent on looking ahead for danger that he barely noticed the all consuming flames until it was too late, Abramov stumbled forward until reality threw him back.

Reflex save: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
At 1 out of 19 hp now, lol.

"Mother's scarf!! They'll pay for this!!"" the doctor hissed in a mix of anger, frustration and surprise. Oh, and a good amount of pain.

Male Human Inquisitor (Infiltrator) 3 (SoF Included) | HP 28 / 28 | AC 22 ; T14 ; FF 20 | | CMD 19 | F +4; R +3; W +5 | Init +4 | Per +8

You're the one with the wand doc, you're keeping track of charges right?

Taking the wand from Abramov, Kalam patches up his own burns and then to doctor's.
Kalam :
CLW Wand: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Abramov :
CLW Wand: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
CLW Wand: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
CLW Wand: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

1 short for each of us, good? 4 charges used.

Handing the wand back, he straightens his now singed coat, "I guess we'd better keep moving..."

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

"If they haven't heard us coming by now.." and he sighs, knowing that they're walking into a trap wide-eyed stupid.

It's been noted! Assuming no one has any complaints about moving on ..

After being patched up by divine energy, Abramov takes his place at the head of the colum again and moves onwards. This time a little more wary..

Stealth: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

Kalam moves as quietly as he can after the doctor and helping to keep a lookout.

Stealth: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19

After patching themselves up, the party advances.

Moving deeper into the sewers, the expected vermin begin to appear again and there's no signs of further traps magical or otherwise. There are however strange bits and pieces of partially rotted meat. At a glance it's difficult to tell if it's animal or not.

Heal, Survival, and Dungeoneering would all be good here.

Male Human Inquisitor (Infiltrator) 3 (SoF Included) | HP 28 / 28 | AC 22 ; T14 ; FF 20 | | CMD 19 | F +4; R +3; W +5 | Init +4 | Per +8

Kalam merely grimaces at the rotten meat...

Sadly I have none of those skills. You'd figure 7/level would be enough but it's really not:P

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

The doctor kneels and studies the bits of rotten meat. Ah, reminds me of a Sczarni rip-deal gone wrong..

Heal: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

Frowning in curiosity, Halsanna was perplexed by the rotten meat. She thought the scavengers would have taken care of that, but if there were a large quantity of meat, then maybe it would be difficult for them to consume it all in a reasonable span of time? She could think of nothing that would reduce bodies to this, but then again, she was not often seeing anything like this. The thing was, she probably should have been worried (not that she was not a bit paranoid by now), but she was more mildly nauseated. Were they feeding something and those are the remnants?

Sighing softly, she continued with the others, hoping that whatever this was for was not going to come back and bite them later-- though she was sure that it probably would.

Slackers! All of you!

Abramov recognizes that whatever killed this (whatever it was) was horrifically strong as it was literally torn apart. He also catches signs of what looks like claws. Big ones.

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

The doctor's brows dipped down and he looked at his companions with a frown. "Big claws, inhuman strength. I do not like where this is going. We're in a sewer on a wild goose hunt, stuck in a system of narrow tunnels that we don't know, chasing a cult of killers who apparently have rigged the tunnels with traps AND there is a beast out there that can tear us apart with ease."

Putting aside his own concern, Kalam grins at the doctor, "You didn't think this would be easy, did you? Traps and monstrous guards are just a good sign we're on the right track. Now lets get moving...spend too long down here and I'm worried the smell might seep into my skin..."

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

"You're mad." And with that, the doctor continued onwards.

Kalam smirks, "If I weren't I sure as the abyss wouldn't be down here..."

Advancing a bit further, the scattered gore appears more frequently and, disturbingly, further and further up the walls...

Perception checks please.

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

Kalam hisses to get the attention of the others.

Is there room to step up beside Abramov or is it single file down here? any wider areas around? Map, maybe? Though if it's a uniform tunnel I imagine we can live without one.

There will be a map but I'm a but busy now. It's single file unless you want to hop down into the sewage.

The good doctor doesn't have bombs Ceinwynn :P And right now he's got the best AC of any of us.

Turning the corner are a pair of tall hairless humanoids. They lurch on back-bent dog-like legs and their hideous mouths are flanked by tiny arms with three-fingered hands. Despite their awkward lanky builds, their spindly frames bulge with sinew.

Spotting the intruders, they brandish crude spears and attack!

Dungeoneering.

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

The doctor's reaction is to chuck down the contents of a tiny vial. After that, all he can do is wait for them to come forward and attack.

Standard action: extract (shield). That's it.
Shield -> +4 shield bonus to AC for 2 minutes.
AC: 24 (5 dex, 3 armor, 2 natural armor, 4 shield), CMD 18.

There was not much that Halsanna could do if the things decided to focus on her, but she had a moment of consideration as they would have to go through Abramov and Kalam, and if they stalled them long enough, then that was going to be enough time for her to use all the arrows in her quiver. Taking a deep breath, she stepped back once and began to get the measure of those two things. The first shot she fired was at the furthest one.

Ceinwynn draws her bow and shoots.

Ranged Shortbow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5

The crowded quarters and awkward angle make Ceinwynn's shot veer far off course but Halsanna has more luck, threading the needle with expert precision. Her shot slams into the shoulder of the nearest creature causing black bubbling ichor to ooze from the wound.

The monsters emit a hideous shrieking sound before shambling forward.

Ceinwynn moves to the open spot behind Abramov (drawing her whip) and attempts to hit the creature standing.

Whip/Arcane Strike: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Damage: 1d4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 1 = 5

Halsanna did the same as Ceinwynn, not trusting the other creature to have gone down permanently, but loosing an arrow at the one that was still standing since it was an easier target. The hum of the bowstring near her ear was almost as familiar to her as the sound of her breathing, though the sudden shift in targeting, even taking into account Abramov's actions, did not account for tracking Ceinwynn's motions as well, and she fouled the shot miserably.

Abramov and Ceinwynn manage to bloody the monster further, spilling more bubbling ichor but failing to bring the creature down. It drops its crude weapon to tear at the good doctor with its filthy teeth and claws.

There was something soothing about the repetition of drawing an arrow free of her quiver, setting it to the string, and sighting onto the target. It was like music to her, gone just as fast as the arrow when she let it fly. Still, she smiled softly, searching for peace in these moments. The closest creature was her first priority, and she really hoped that she would not have to venture into the sewage.
