Sorry, I've just been very busy at work and not able to update. Hopefully I can this going by Fri.

@barring - good point, thank you.
This player had missed the dinner invitation. Retcon that to 'fry up lunch' and 'quiet afternoon until dinner'.
Relaxing in the maintenance tasks, budding comradeship, and early afternoon sunlight in the common room, Angruf Responds to Garak, "I admit I'm not deeply versed in Andoran military tradition. I'd have better luck differentiating Clan Fullbeard and Clan Stumpyleg uniforms from last century's goblin wars - or even the military markings of the goblin clans. We can be a bit insular in our fastnesses in the Mindspin Mountains. What do the devices on your uniform signify?"

At everyone else, one of the many servants come to your room (or whereever else you may be) asking if you need anything, and if the room is servicable. They inform you dinner will begin, informally, in about 30 mins, and ask if you have any religious or dietary requests before leaving you to finish whatever you are doing.
As soon as the other three are done with their little side trek, I'll move on to dinner, and the first scene will be complete.

I assume this means we have gone on my errand first.

<sigh> so much for the beautiful prose eaten in the internet tubes.
@Garak
Angruf will engage Garak in a light conversation about Andoran culture and traditions. He won't drive it toward the personal, or extend it beyond Garak's desire to chat. Angruf is a good listener, and genuinely interested in the topic, and Garak's opinions and reactions to Andoran culture.

@ Leonel (and Davian and Val too posssibly) Ah, I misunderstood, thinking you where just going for something to do. Sure, we can do yours first, it doesn't matter.
Anyone involved, please make a Sense Motive check.

For everyone, the Dinner: I'm ust going to do this at the same time, just pretending everyone has already accomplished (or failed) at their other things and returned.
Lady Sheila waits in the common room, wearing an extravigant dress, with a lapal of a Wayfinder. Even in dress-wear, the subtle scents of the arcane still clin to her and she is a sight to see. Welcomes you all as you arrive, offering a drink of fine wine until all of her guests (you) have arrived. Once done, she asks to move to the dining room, mentioning that she has ordered roasted duck and premium deer from northern Varsia as the main dish, with a variety of sides from across the area, something each of you shoud find to your liking, with luck.
As the conversation begins, she explaisn that her husband and her "baught the manor some time ago with the intent of opening the first Varisian Lodge, and where granted permission by the Society to open it as such, something that has always been her dream. There are, as you may have noticed, four cottages set aside for our Pathfinder guests. Each is named after one of the legendary Thassilonian kingdoms, for which the area is so well known. The three most northern are the Eurythnia House, the Bakrahan House, where you are staying, and the Shalast House. Dividing them from the forth is my garden, a topiary maze there for your enjoyment, and if needed any meetings you may wish to conduct away from the hearing of others. Across from Bakrahan house, on the other side of the garden is Haruka House, though fo the moment, it is off limits due to it's needing repairs."
"To the East of the garden, (not on the map, but not only a few hundred feet) is the Lodge Meeting House, which also holds a moderate library, a room with a variety of maps, charts, and all sorts of astrological studes. We have a small chaple as well as a laboratory, though it is only freshly begining. One Mr. Wumbrout oversees the Meeting house, so should you wish to utilize anything, do not hesitate to speak with him."

Leonel turns to his two companions and shrugs slightly, then motions subtly to the door.
"That didn't look like a "yes", and my letter said "escape". Maybe it's time to go..."

Before we get too far, let Davian make his check and a little input.

No worries.

OOC: I will flash-forward until everybody is together again.
During dinner Barrin approach Garak and Ebrylis and ask: Greeting master Ebrylis. Have you been able to deliver our letter? Any favorable response?

![]() |

@Barrin and Garak - there is and come a bit later.

![]() |

Sorry, I am just getting slammed at work. I'm in the army and it has just beem so busy I can barely get online, even on my phone.

![]() |

I'll be jumping back on today to get things moving again. Hopefully within a few hours.

Val walks up to Jaster with the others flanking him and bows slightly as he introduces himself. "Sir, we are Pathfinders, Venture-Captain Sheila Heidmarch has asked that we find you, she trusts you are well?"

A refresher on the Faction Mission might be in order. . . We are going to move on soon, pass or fail, so that everyone else isn't waiting too much longer.
@ everyone back at dinner: Dinner goes very smoothly. Over the meal, Lady Sheila goes into some of the history of the area, answering any other questions that come up, and just offers some exciting conversation. She expands on her, and her husband's desires and plans for the Lodge in the future, and gives you an idea of various things in the city. Afterwards, she offers to host for a nightcap, and offers a room for smoking cigars or pipes if any of you are interested in that sort of thing, then retires thereafter.
Act 1: ____________
I don't want to spoil it just yet, so I will post the name of the Act at the end.
The next morning, each of you sleep likely in the best beds you have ever had the pleasure of resting in. They seem almost magical in nature, fittig your form as you lay. Throughout the night, your sleep is uninterupted, though your last dream cycle seems to be about child-sized creature speaking a strange endlessly sifting through toys and random objects, tossing them over their shoulders with a momments curiostiy expended, looking for some daimond in the rough that they know is there.
Does anyone rise before 5am?

Can I have Perception checks from everyone.

Angruf actively engages Lady Sheila in understanding the local history and background. This is right in his wheelhouse, and something that he finds fascinating. He takes up the offer of a nightcap and a pipe, and will provide some background noodling on balliset for the smoking room.
Angruf will retire early, and awaken early. He is somewhat puzzled by his uncharacteristic dreams, and will write them into his journal as a noteworthy event (along with the GREAT bed).

Val will likely sleep as late as he can, after dinner he probably had as much quality wine was available and ended up with any half-filled bottle back in his chambers. Despite the consumption, he is unlikely to have any hangover.

![]() |

Perception check please (from everyone who hasn't already).
Think of it as,. . . a wake up call, ya, that's it. . . ;) j/k

![]() |

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
As far as sleeping at a pathfinder lodge goes, Val would sleep without armor on, but would likely have his rapier by the bed at close reach and a dagger under his pillow.

![]() |

Also, we can skip the spoilers from this point on. It was just to see who was aware and not, as I didn't want to spoil anything.
As for the chase rules, I will let people know more about it the specifics of how they are different. I may wait till afterwards on some points, just so that it doesn't ruin the mood of play.

![]() |

Val scans the hallway and ducks back in his room. Not hearing any screams or thuds he quickly dons his armor, throws his bow and quiver over his shoulder, grabs his rapier and races out of the room to check on the others. His intent is to awaken quietly, communicating in hushed tones and making light steps. He will approach the party member whose room is nearest to him first.

![]() |

Do I get to approach the situation with my dagger under my pillow? Or does that get pilfered before I awake?
Leonel silently assesses the situation, prepared to launch a surprise attack should the stranger approach, or leap up and block her escape if she should attempt to flee.
Call it a readied action
