Abroshqualimie sends another wave of healing energy into Eva as the enraged barbarian slams another blow into the standing ogre. This one too falls, leaving a mound of blubber and muscle on the floor, further blocking the door. The next ogre took a face full of flames from Wesley's spell, but the fire didn't deter his next strike. This one landed square on the hobbit's head, making the conjurer see stars.

A big hit from the ogre made him give up facing them directly.

Evangline sighed in relief as Abroshqualmie's spell lessened some of her more serious wounds. Gritting her teeth, she attacked with fury. The ogre roared in fury as Evangline's axe bit into his chest. In response, his club lashed out. Eva took the first blow on her axe, rocking slightly at the force of the attack. The second blow blasted through her defenses and ripped into her open left side. The pain was excruciating, and the barbarian saw black spots dancing in her eyes as bone broke and muscles tore.

Wesley's spell rocked the ogre as Abrosh desperately raced in to heal Evangline. The ogre grunted in pain once more as Eva's strike landed true. The brute is looking rather beat up, with massive gashes across a third of its upper torso. The wounds don't seem to slow it down much though, as it lanced another pair of heavy blows out at the barbarian. The first blow hit an invisible barrier, slowing it enough that Eva was able to get out of its way. She wasn't fast enough to dodge the second, though, and it nearly took her head off. The raging barbarian hit the ground, her great size reducing to that of her normal stature.

As Evangline hit the ground, both Abroshqualmie and Wesley leaped forward and cast their magics in a desperate attempt to kill the badly wounded ogre before he could turn that giant club on them. Waves of flames washed over the ogre, and its roars of fury turned into wails of pain and then to silence. Like a great tree toppling in the forest, the bulk of the ogre crashed backwards onto the floor of the chamber. So large was the creature that the floor trembled slightly under your feet.

The room had two exits, one with an open wooden door, and the other a natural opening in the rock wall. The natural opening led to a large dirt cave. The walls, floors, and ceiling are packed dirt, with a trickle of dirt falling from the ceiling. There is a large tunnel to the north, easily large enough for an ogre to squeeze through, though it would indeed be a squeeze. The exit tunnel is extremely sharp, maybe a 70-80 degree incline. Another, smaller tunnel heads to the south. That tunnel is a tight squeeze for any normal humanoid, though Wesley and his dog would have no problem navigating it. That tunnel heads slightly downward.

The wooden door led to a small room, maybe ten by fifteen, that had obviously been used by the ogre captain as his personal room. A pile of furs lay in one corner, smelling rank, but not as foul as you might believe. A pony keg of brandy lies on top of the furs.

The door to the hallway cannot be closed until the dead ogres are moved, and no one except perhaps a raging Evangline would be able to lift them with mere muscle.

We might want to rest, I am almost drained.

The ogres had very little on them, other than their weapons and armor. The coins on the floor were a mixture of gold and silver, totaling 230 gold. The champion had a sliver ring on a necklace, and a folded map stuffed in his waistband.

In the smaller room, in addition to the pile of furs, obviously a sleeping area, there was a small trunk in one corner. Inside were four hide pouches, each containing teeth, bits of bone, buttons, and a few coins. In all, another 35g in coins were in the bags.

Appears hobbit--Periblooded aasimar Init +3 (+7 w/ familiar); Perception = +8 (+10 w/ familiar) Wizard (Conjurer) 5/Collegiate Arcanist 1 AC 14, t14, ff 11 l F+2, R +4, W +7

Wesley produces 4 scrolls of reduce person when Eva inquires.

When Eva wakes up,
"I feel like a dragon sat on me."

she quickly looks around

"This room could be a good spot to spell for a while, but to remove the ogres I think someone casting Reduce person would be of great help moving these corpses."

The reduce person was indeed helpful, and it was only a matter of a few minutes' work to shrink the corpses and drag them into the dirt cave area. With the ogre bodies removed, the door was closed, and a locking bar put in place. Other than the tunnels leading from the cave area, the room was secure...or at least as secure a spot as you were likely to find down here.

"Let's rest here for a while, and gain back our strength."

Wesley also rests.
Assume I used three of my four reduce person spells. I will be subtracting 75gp cost from party treasure to replace them.

"With limited people to haste, I will be switching to the fireball. We will have to drop enemies quicker and rest more now that we are three."

You divided up the watch into equal portions, though there was little indication of the passage of time in this dark dungeon. Perhaps the watches were only an hour, or maybe three. Still, Wesley ended up with the last watch, so that he could take the time to prepare his spells for the next "day". Wesley awoke with a start. Some noise, perhaps? He squinted in the darkness, his aasimar eyes giving him the advantage of clear sight, even in the darkest of places.

He looked over the resting forms around him. Evangline lay with her mouth open, snoring softly and hand laying on the haft of her axe. Abroshqualmie lay off to one side, nearly buried in his bedroll. Bob was...not there. The bard was supposed to be on watch and he wasn't in sight!

You can prep spells now, or you can go looking for the bard, or whatever else you want to do

Appears hobbit--Periblooded aasimar Init +3 (+7 w/ familiar); Perception = +8 (+10 w/ familiar) Wizard (Conjurer) 5/Collegiate Arcanist 1 AC 14, t14, ff 11 l F+2, R +4, W +7

We wait for spells to be ready and move out.

Uneasily, Wesley and Abroshqualmie prepared their spells for teh day, whether meditating or in prayerful contemplation. Their nervous glances to the door and the cave entrance showed how little they were concentrating, though, and their rituals took about half an hour more than normal. Finally, they were prepared to move on, though there was still no sign of Bob the Bard.
