Alanthian opened the door and a pair of arrows whistled through the air by his head. The room's floor was sunken in, just as the room you entered through, though a raised embankment sat at the far corner. On the right hand side of the far wall was another closed door. On the embankment was a stack of crates and barrels, and behind this makeshift barricade sat a pair of goblins, hastily reloading their crossbows.

Eowithe Mournegrym |

If possible Eowithe will squeeze by Alanthian, and take up position at K5 to provide the others cover as they dash for the far door.
If not, she'll queue up behind Alanthian and wait for him to move into the room.

Pakak |

"How many of these little bastards are down here?" Pakak asks.
Are we using the same initiatives as before? if not...

Crugold |

Crugold calmly loads another crossbow bolt and fires it past his party member into the far room, doubtful it would actually hit either of the goblins, but unable to do much else with several party members on the only path he had to the creatures.

Sorry, I rolled initiatives and accidentally deleted them. So I just chose to use "group then monsters"

As the companions rushed into the room, the goblins ducked down behind their barricade, and a flurry of darts, knives, and arrows buried themselves neatly into the crates and barrels. The goblins popped back out with loaded crossbows, and each took aim at one of their attackers. Alanthian managed to twist away from the bolt fired at him, but Eowithe's left shoulder exploded in agony as a bolt buried itself almost to the hard leather fletching.

Eowithe Mournegrym |

Gritting her teeth from the pain of the bolt strike, Eowithe flings her other hand in the direction of the goblins and utters "May your thoughts become awestruck by Desna's glory!"

Crugold |

Acrobatics 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Getting annoyed, the dwarf runs into the room, and uses his momentum to leap across the open pit to land directly on top of the goblins (aiming for G4).

DM Bigrin |

1d20 - 1 ⇒ (8) - 1 = 7
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
1d4 ⇒ 2
One goblin went still as Eowithe's spell took effect, it's eyes glazing over. That's probably why it was still standing there when a dwarf missile slammed into it. The goblin rebounded off the wall behind it, and Crugold ended up on top of the rickety pile of crates and barrels it had been using for cover. The other goblin dropped its crossbow and grabbed a tiny shortsword, but yelped as Alanthian splashed through the sewage to try and hack at it. From his position down in the muck, the elf didn't have much chance of hurting the thing if it stayed behind cover, and he grimaced at the 2 feet of foul smelling muck he was standing in.

Didn't the new round update, sorry.
Crugold proceeds to pummel the goblins.

Sorry about that. Crazy month :( and I didn't see the round update either. I sure hope the boards aren't glitching again.
Pakak grumbles at his lousy aim, draws his rapier, and moves forward
A move to I6. I think since he drew his rapier, that's all he can do this round really.

DM Bigrin |

Alanhian, you don't get the flank, but you won't need it
Crugold, which kind of damage are you doing by default, lethal or nonlethal? I just don't want to have to ask ever time. Just tell me which you are doing by default and then you only have to state it when you do the other kind. for this round, I assumed lethal (it is a goblin after all)
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
1d4 ⇒ 3
Alanthian leaps from the malodorous slime and slashes into the goblin nearest him. The goblin, who was trying to lean out over the barricade to get a shot off, squealed in pain and then tumbled forward into the sludge. His feeble thrashing slowed as he bled out from the severe wound.
As Pakak slogged his way across the sewage pool, Eowithe fired at the dazed goblin. Trying not to hit Crugold, who was busy pummeling the creature, her shot went wide. the goblin tentatively swung its sword at Crugold, but the dwarf's blows had it reeling, and the blow never connected.

Crugold |

Let's just say lethal unless I say otherwise; I would expect the ratio of combats that favor nonlethal to diminish over the course of the campaign.
Crugold chuckles at the creature's vain attempt at a strike as he continues to pummel the goblin, making sure to go slow enough that the goblin can see everything that is happening just to play with the creature.

DM Bigrin |

Crugold's attacks brutally slam the goblin to the packed earth behind the barricade. The gurgling rasp that came from the creature's ruined throat would not sustain it much longer, and the dwarf looked up to see a small crawl hole hacked through the wall behind the barricade and into the room beyond. It would be a tight squeeze, but he could manage it if he needed to. Eowithe slogged through the muck to the other exit from the room, noting that it too was closed with no locking mechanism. At least not one on this side of the door.
67 XP each!

Eowithe Mournegrym |

"Is everyone alright?" Eowithe asks. Then, looks to the door, tempted to open it, but stops and turns her head "Want to take a look at this, Alanthian?" she the remembers the crossbow bolt sticking out of her shoulder.
Blast and damn, will one of you help me with this." pulling some bloodblock out of her sash.

Pakak |

"Blast and damn, will one of you help me with this." pulling some bloodblock out of her sash.
Pakak sees her wounds, "Sorry, let me look at that. Got one more spell in me for healing. It's yours."
He prays touches her shoulder, and holy light pours through.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Eowithe Mournegrym |

With a gasp of pain, Eowithe pulls the bolt from her shoulder. Then as Pakak's healing knitted the flesh back together she sighs and says " Thank you friend, that was kindly done."
Rotating her shoulder, she joins Crugold at the hole in he wall "I'm not sure I'd fit through that.

Crugold |

"I doubt most of us would comfortably; still it's good to know about. I would suggest that a few of us go through the door, and confirm that both lead to the same place, and if they run into trouble, I can squeeze through and hit them from behind."

Eowithe Mournegrym |

"OK, from now on, no one gets hurt, Pakak's orders" Eowithe says with a smile and a hand on Pakak's shoulder.
Walking back to the door she says "If you're willing Crugold, we'll advance through this door after you've taken a look through your tunnel? I'd rather have some notice of what we're walking into this time."

DM Bigrin |

Crugold stuck his head in the hole and gave the all-clear signal to Alanthian, who opened the door. Both looked on the same scene. Another room with no floor and a sewage flooded subfloor. To Crugold's immediate left was another rickety ladder mounted to the wall. The majority of the ceiling was missing, yielding a dim view of the attic space above.

Eowithe Mournegrym |

After Crugold's report, Eowithe says "Crugold, do you think you could use the tunnel and attempt to get up that ladder quickly? We'll enter by the door. Ware the attic and the sewage, if the previous rooms are any indication, another ambush awaits. "
With that and a quick looks to see that the others were ready, she loads her crossbow and nods at Alanthian to open the door. She enters the room swiftly, moving to the left toward the ladder.

Crugold |

Does the ladder look like it could support Crugold's weight?
Crugold assents and pushes through the hole again, awaiting the others on the other side by the ladder.

DM Bigrin |

It is clear from the start that the ladder will not hold even Alanthian's weight. He had barely lifted any of his weight from the soggy ground when the rung tore free and dumped him back. If he hadn't been half expecting it, he would likely have ended up in the muck. As it was, he merely splashed about a bit.
Any other way of climbing? Or do you want to try the door in the western wall?
