In Varisia's bustling frontier city ofMagnimar, the Pathfinder Society's newest lodge recruits a team of rookie Pathfinders to track down rogue agent Natalya Vancaskerkin-who also happens to be one of the Varisian criminals known as the Sczarni. Yet

As far as you can tell, he's telling the truth

Male Dwarf Wizard (Abjurer)-9 (Mythic Archmage 2)(Current HP 54/62)

Pakak looks heavenward May the brave god help the girl if I'm betraying too much "Natalya, she maybe in trouble. We're trying to find her, maybe help her. Unfortunately, we seem to be running out of leads."

"Oh, ho! Yer lookin' fer Tasha! Well, that's a right pickle that is. See, I happen to know somethin' about her an' where she is. Mebbe that's worth...two hunnert gold."

Male Dwarf Wizard (Abjurer)-9 (Mythic Archmage 2)(Current HP 54/62)

"Two hundred gold?" Pakak raises a brow, "you can't be serious."

Alanthian laughs out loud at the old man and shakes his head."Either you are the dumbest person in this city or you think we are. 200 gold? Really?

Once again Eowithe's scrutiny focuses intently on the old man.

He appears to be telling the truth. He also appears to be taking you for suckers...but you didn't really need a sense motive for that.

"One fiddy, then. Yew wants Tasha, and I needs some things meself. Fair price, 'specially if'n yew want ta get ta her afore the other Sczarni do. I heerz they got a price on her head."

"Tell us what you know Fenster. It would be a shame if the Szcarni came here looking for Natalya , they'd be much less kind. A whisper in the right ear, who knows what could happen." Eowithe says.

Fenster cringed back like a kicked puppy from Eowithe's words. "'Ere now, don't yew be siccin' them Sczarni on me. They ain't got no cause t' be harmin' Ol' Fenster. I make sure of such. Talya's holed up in a run-down building just up the road there. Burnt out boarding house, it is. Go up two streets, and then turn left. Fourth building on the right. Nothing near it, so's she can watch whoever comes up to her. Please don't sic them Sczarni on me. I told yew the truth, honest."

Eowithe's steely gaze pins the man, evaluating, judging.

"Yeah, well, trying to play us like that, I'm tempted to take my mug back, but I guess you earned it." Pakak says a bit touchy.

Fenster stood tall again, "Yew're the ones walkin' out with infermation yew should have paid for like reglar folks. Threats and such may get yew what yew want, but yer no better than the Sczarni fer all that."

Male Dwarf Wizard (Abjurer)-9 (Mythic Archmage 2)(Current HP 54/62)

"You WERE paid. See cup and coin outside," Pakak jerked his thumb towards the box, "But tell you what, you got a point we came on a bit strong... not entirely our fault, you were a greedy SOB and treated us like morons. But IF your information proves fruitful, I'll try to come back within a month and consider handing you over some more coin. Don't expect a hundred or any such crazy number though."

"Don't yew come back...ever." The whiny voice and raspy breath seemed to be replaced with pure steel. As if Fenster wasn't always the pathetic wretch you see before you. For a moment, he exudes pure, steely determination. Then, he turns his back on you and walks inside.

Male Dwarf Wizard (Abjurer)-9 (Mythic Archmage 2)(Current HP 54/62)

"We have not made a friend today," Pakak says to the others.

Male Dwarf Wizard (Abjurer)-9 (Mythic Archmage 2)(Current HP 54/62)

Pakak follows, but he leaves his mug behind as payment, whatever Fenster may think of them, Pakak prefers to hold to bargains, even rough ones.

Crugold watches the scene with the pathetic wretch with a look of pity on his face, clearly relieved to be moving on. Despite his own experiences, the sight of someone who so clearly embraced such pathos still made him uncomfortable.

If the rundown 2-story house that Fenster's direction led to was indeed Natalya's new place of residence, the missing Tower Girl wasn't exactly trading up in the world. The ramshackle clapboard walls were either damaged by fire, mold, or both. In places, fire had gutted sections of the roof, and each heavily boarded up window had soot stains curling from their tops. The building stood near the steep cliff walls of the Seacleft, and tumble-down scree piled up against its foundations and littered the yard. A small shack leaned up against an outside wall, probably a storage shed of some kind.

Perception DC15:

The shed's lone window does not appear to be as tightly boarded up as those on the rest of the house.

Sorry it has taken so long to post this, but I "lost" my mapping thumb drive for a couple of days

As you approached the shed, a burly man came out and shouted "Hey! This is private property! Get outta here!" As he was shouting, another man squeezed his muscular bulk through the doorway and stood glaring at Alanthian. Both men were armed and armored, wickedly pointed morningstars held tightly in their fists.

Here's the map

"Welcome to the nice part of town, being rough comes with the territory." Crugold replies to Pakak quietly. To the men, he speaks quietly, "We have business here, and have had way too many irritants today on our way here. The two men look uncertain, but stand their ground. "Nobody passes here without the Mistress' permission, and she ain't given it. Get lost."

Male Dwarf Wizard (Abjurer)-9 (Mythic Archmage 2)(Current HP 54/62)

"Then why don't one of you go tell her that she has guests and see if she GRANTS permission?"

"She said she ain't to be disturbed by anyone she didn't summon. So, as I said, get lost. As for the odds..." He just smirked.

Male Dwarf Wizard (Abjurer)-9 (Mythic Archmage 2)(Current HP 54/62)

Before the words were even out of Crugold's mouth, the firstmost goon raised his morningstar in a strike. Conversation went pretty much to hell right about then.

Tynan just sat there as the outnumbered goons blurred into action. one went after Eowithe, slamming his morningstar into her unguarded belly. "You gotta do better than that, children." said the one fighting Eowithe, smacking at her with his morningstar. She easily slipped the blow, but her own strike fell short.

The other was too beleaguered to have any comment, but he held off Alanthian and Crugold, dealing the elf a hammering blow that sent him sprawling to the ground. His distraction cost him as Pakak's rapier pierced his back and drew a large spot of blood on the thug's leathers.
