Yeah, double weapons are double cost. It means a sturdy, well balanced stick is more expensive than an expertly forged sword, and takes longer to make.
Also, if you wanted to, you could buy a quarterstaff that was only really nice on one end. That would cost a little less than an expertly forged sword.
Don't think about it too hard, down that road lies madness.
Talius Baryn
Hrmm, true - though then I would have to keep track of which of the two ends where properly manufactured then, we can't have that now can we. I fear Talius is confused enough as it is.
Talius Baryn
Alright, Talius picks up a Scroll Case, 4 pieces of Parchment, sells his regular rope and purchases Silk Rope, the Spell Components Pouch as stated before and the MW Quarterstaff (which he binds Ventriloquism to like he had on his previous QS). He also picks up x4 Potions of cure light wounds and x2 Potion of mage armor.
That's some heavy shopping right there, but Talius' might as well spend most of his gold prior to the adventure, as there is little point dying a rich man in some forgotten dungeon.
All said and done, Talius' should have 30 GP 9 SP left if I calculated correctly and he should be at 28.78/100 Ibs = Light Load.
(Note: These actions are taken after talking to Natalya).

Whoa there horsie, it seems that I have put the cart before the horse in this case! Perhaps one of my companions would be inclined to parley with our patron while I tug the reins of my steed?
Talius Baryn
Seeing as how we have moved on, I will read everyone's backgrounds again, and take into play that Talius is now aware of what I presume his companions would tell him (feel free to state something you do not wish Talius to know, just yet).
Furthermore, seeing as how Bigrin has moved us along - I am guessing not all of us have the time to post multiple times a day. I for one can, and I am checking the forum every 2-3 hours CET+1 (except when I am at work, of course). Perhaps we should just post as often as we can, and if the conversation halts we either discuss what matters needed to be discussed here on the discussion forum - and Bigrin carries us a long as he just did?
@Bigrin: What are your thoughts on this matter?
DM Bigrin
I don't expect anyone to post more than once every 24 hours. If you can, great, but I don't expect it.
Use the discussion thread for anything not specifically in character. I am happy if you want to "blah" your backstories and just point to your character page. Also note that some people aren't going to be particularly forthcoming about their history.
I don't want to ramrod things, but I also know that in PbP a 3 day silence because everyone is waiting for one guy to give a short story of his life is like to turn into a dead thread.
If I move on and you still have something to add to the conversation or whatever, flex it.
Put a spoiler in your post tagged as Flex, and everyone can mentally insert it where it needs to go.
Talius Baryn
Much obliged Bigrin, thank you for pointing that out to me.
I am more inclined to as much roleplay as possible, perhaps a tad too much at times - but it's a welcome distraction from everyday life.
I'll make sure to do so in the future!

I've been doing some thinking about Judah. I love his concept, but, as tend to happen whenever I come up with an odd character idea and then try to cram mechanics into it, I feel like he's a little wonky.
What I'd planned on doing was playing him as a coward that is somehow protected by otherworldly creatures. He'd be running and hiding, and around him things would be ripping through spacetime and attacking the people who threaten him.
Basically, I was going to play him as a summoning specialist who was actually scared of his own summoned creatures and had little apparent control over them.
Unfortunately, Oracles make really crappy summoning specialists.
What do you think of me reworking Judah with one level of Oracle and one level of Master Summoner (continuing on as a Summoner from this point on)
The Oracle stuff is mostly for fluff reasons anyway, so even though I'll be taking a hit to my magic progression, I think it would still work. (one level isn't that bad).
Thoughts?

Since your class really hasn't come into play yet, I don't have a problem with it...but I do have a few conditions.
1) Make up a text file for any creature you will summon, and include its stats. Post the stat block (including any augmentations) when you summon a creature, so that we don't get bogged down trying to look things up in the middle of combat.
2) Once summoned, post a running tally of turns remaining for your summoned creatures.
3) You are responsible for your summoned creatures' actions on your turn. That includes attacks, grapples, etc.
4) Have fun with it. I love the master summoner, and never get to play it because most DMs don't want to deal with the headache of keeping track of points 1 and 2.
Everyone - The Crow is completely lightless except in indicated areas. What vision/light sources does everyone have. I am going to assume that you make your landing under the cover of darkness (starlight alone will let Alanthian guide you in), but from there you will need some means of light or seeing in the dark. Post here to let me know who is carrying what light source.
Turan Walks the Steppe
Turan has no light source but with his companions sporting plenty of lantern that should be alright. Also he'll volunteer to go first or second:)
Talius Baryn
Forgot to add my +1 BAB to the attack roll there, I'll not forget it later. Also was wondering, when counting squares towards the creature I believe I was within the range for Ray of Frost (25+5/2 levels = 30 at level 2, or would that be 30 at level 3)?
If not, then I really do apologize for my mistake and if possible, I'd like Talius to take a 5 foot step forward prior to casting the spell (if that's possible, or can I not cast if I move first?) - I'm still learning the quirks and didn't really get too much information from the rulebook.
Also wondering if you'd like me to use this spoiler for combat:
HP: 12/12
Spells:
0 Ray of Frost, Light, Ghost Sound, Read Magic
1 Magic Missile 1/3, Ventriloquism 1/1
Standard Action: Cast Ray of Frost at target
Ranged touch attack roll
Damage roll
Move Action: Five foot step forward
Just want to make sure I get everything right from the beginning, so I don't have to ask again later.
Turan Walks the Steppe
Not so much distasteful...more stupid. Ye know trying to sneak into a dark tower at night and then babbling on and on about how swiftly we killed the guards and now we likely won't be spotted...
Talius Baryn
That actually made me laugh out loudly, Bigrin! I just want to depict Talius as somewhat of a beginner when it comes to dungeoneering. Sure, he's bonked some Goblins on his own - but being in a group for the first time doesn't exactly calm his, already overly, impulsive behaviour.
There's something called overacting though, and if anyone feels that this happens - please PM me and I'll sort it out. We're here to have fun after all.
Talius Baryn
Just wanted to say that I am loving the maps Bigrin, they are very well done and easy to use.
And by gods, man - Turan, you're a powerhouse with the staff! (not to mention the others, everyone seems to bring potent abilities to the group!)
Judah Locke
I've never played a character like Judah before. I find that I'm really enjoying describing his jumpy cowardice and complaining about everything.
Hopefully I'm not annoying you guys too badly. I swear he won't be like this forever. He just thinks he's in over his head right now. :)
Turan Walks the Steppe
Not sure why we are lagging but anyways I plan to make matters worse by going on holidays for 4 weeks in which I will have little internet access or time so please NPC Turan as needed.
