I've updated the loot spreadsheet, here. I'm guessing we'll probably end up claiming the stash, too, if there are no identifying marks on anything, but I haven't included it in the calculations yet. Machaera also knows mending, so we shouldn't have to worry too much about bullet holes and such. :)

hp: 1d8 ⇒ 6 Nice! I have an idea about most of the nitty-gritty of leveling up, but spell selection is something else. With two magic academies in Korvosa, to say nothing of independent sources, I think it's time for Machaera to live down to stereotypes of elves in magic shops. :)

Busy and entertained, here. I was just sitting down to post a quick update. This week we wrapped up term at school, so a lot of running around to sort the last bits of this and that, after which I promptly had to start preparing for the summer conference season. On that note, I’ll be travelling this week coming up, and then again towards the last week of the month, with a frantic few days in between to switch gears from one event to another. Which is to say, I’m not sure how frequently I’ll be able to post next week (or from around the 20th through 30th, though that’s a ways further off), but I’ll try my best to keep up. Feel free to bot Machaera as necessary.

In general, real life is busier for me now with a 13 month old daughter, so there are days where little things from that just add up. She's in day care, so we've been seeing illnesses almost every 7 days... and had to get tubes put in due to those illnesses turning into ear infections constantly. I can't say I've had it worse than other parents, but it does consume a lot of time.

I have a feeling people are checking in, but at times, there are no updates, which prompts no additional updates, compounding the problem. Just a theory based on personal experience.

Machaera’s up-to-date, I think. That’s not to say that she couldn’t happily go on a spell shopping spree, but that’s never not true, and it can wait.

I think you may be right. I know I’m paranoid about just posting a series of posts without letting others get a word in edgewise and forcing a bunch of retcons to make sure that I don’t unilaterally push the story too far ahead or effectively split the party by making everyone else say, “OK, while she does that…”

I hope your daughter feels better soon: I can only imagine, personally, but I get horror stories from my colleagues with young children.

Thanks all. I didn't mean to over hype the situation at all... these have mainly been colds/flu here and there. The main problem is that the congestion doesn't drain and back fills her inner ear - making it a stomping ground for an ear infection. It's apparently quite common, as the surgery to insert tubes (exposes the inner ear to let the fluid dry out) is the leading surgery for young children.

I'll just be happy when this period of building up the immune system ends.

My sister had tubes put in 3 times while she was a kid, none of mine did so hopefully your daughter only needs the 1 set.

I had tubes twice as a kid, only one out of my 3 brothers and I came out more or less fine. It's a hassle but it should all work out. Here's hoping.

+1 to an ability score at level 4 Headsman. Otherwise, check the delta for changes with your class, assuming you're not multi-classing.

Well, it looks like our group has exceeded the 30% average :P

Honestly, other than the concern over the anesthesia for an age under 3, the tubes weren't that bad. She's still getting sick at the same frequency, and if the congestion goes to her inner ear, the tubes are doing their job and draining them, or providing access for medication directly as opposed to taking antibiotics and risking antibiotic immune variants. It's a process I guess, just a tiring one.

Glad to hear that everyone went through them all right though.

Just hopefully your daughter gets/feels better soon. My youngest is 5 and when little kids are sick they are really taxing since there is little you can do for them.

Hey, GM, what's your take on how these two stack together?

Intimidating Glare (Ex): The barbarian adds her Strength modifier in place of her Charisma modifier on all Intimidate checks to demoralize a foe. She can attempt an Intimidate check to demoralize an adjacent foe as a move action instead of a standard action. If the barbarian successfully demoralizes an adjacent foe, that foe is shaken for the remainder of the barbarian’s current rage.

Your physical might is intimidating to others.
Benefit: Add your Strength modifier to Intimidate skill checks in addition to your Charisma modifier.

Would I add twice str, or keep stacking str and cha?

I would go with Intimidating Prowess since they don't stack

I already have Intimidating Prowess, heheh. Even if they don't stack, Glare's move-action demoralize is nice, and I'm planning on picking up something it's a prerequisite too, so I figured it was worth asking.


Str and Cha would stack together. The Intimidating Glare kicks in Str to replace your cha bobus for intimidate and the Intimidating Prowess stacks the two togwrher.

That said, I've looked it up and it's been made clear to me that the two cannot stack. Ah well. Guess I'll keep using Cha+Str.

I'm not sure if I'll stick with Intimidating Glare. I'll think about it.

Hello, everyone!

Just a quick update about stuff that will affect my posting for the next little while. I’ve got some medical folderol to deal with tomorrow: if all goes well, it will only really take me out of the loop for a few days, and hopefully my doctor won’t need to prescribe anything that will make my characters’ tactics even wackier than usual. If I do end up post something jaw-droppingly unwise in the next few days, blame the painkillers. :) When I’ll be able to get around to posting regularly is uncertain (probably around the end of the month), so in the meantime please do whatever it takes to keep things moving.

Merlin, there's a link to the loot spreadsheet in the second post on this page: I think the sheet is now up-to-date, with the reward for bringing back Vancaskerkin included in the gold. The thugs' stash is still listed separately, but I'm guessing we'll end up sharing it out.
