Oh snaps, sorry, didn't intend for that to be at all misogynistic. Was going for word-play with silly Canadian names for Mac N Cheese.

Io Dorean |

Nah, I knew what you were going for ; )
that’s why I included the ‘dinner jokes are in poor taste’ joke myself, though that may have been a bit subtle (my RL friends are just really used to me making subtle puns at this point I underestimate how obvious I need to make them to be caught by an average person). It was a good joke.

There's no harm in knowledge skills either... Fly isn't bad, planning for higher levels where Fly gets cast on you or we get Griffons...

Hello, everyone! I’m sort of back: back home, at least, with only a few follow-up sessions with my doctors scheduled, and no need for heavy-duty painkillers yet (knock on wood), but the doctors have told me to expect a long recovery process, and my schedule for physical therapy for the next few months is obnoxious, breaking up my day into lots of little chunks that are too short to get really into anything. I’ll try to get back to posting regularly as soon as I can: maybe if I get happier doing so from my phone.

Corvus Cator |

Sounds like a good reason to upgrade to a tablet ;)
Glad to hear things went as expected then.

"Headsman" |

I... lost track of how much loot we got in the whole Verik thing. Can someone catch me up to date on that? Sorry guys, I'm terrible with loot.

Machaera Selanna |

Machaera would like to track down, either in scroll form or in a borrowed spellbook (from one of the wizard schools in town, say), a bunch of spells. Most importantly, identify, so she can give that darn dagger another try before seeking external assistance, but also longshot, lucky number, peace bond, Serren’s swift girding, warding weapon, if they’re available, and, for giggles, polypurpose panacea. She might not buy them all at once, but she’d like to know what she can get a hold of in town. (For future reference, are there broad guidelines for what I can I assume is easily available? All those are PFS-legal, for instance, I think.) Also, there’s no rush: shopping can wait until after we visit Devargo.
Headsman (and all!), if I’ve calculated correctly, assuming we sell off the armour and weapons no one’s expressed interest in (and not counting the spear I think Yanis might like, and the dagger that still needs identifying), the thugs’ stash, and splitting the bounty, everyone gets 629 gp, and a bunch of the consumables left over: mainly tanglefoot bags and thunderstones, and I figure those of us carrying bows can split up the fancy arrows.
Sorry for the radio silence: still paranoid about forcing the plot ahead before everyone's ready, and still getting used to my schedule for the next few weeks of my recovery.

"Headsman" |

Thanks!
I remember we had a lot spreadsheet somewhere, but I've lost the link. I'll probably grab a few of the consumables.

Io Dorean |

I can help!
Yes, I am still around. I just haven't been on the boards a ton lately. Sorry for the silence.

@all, anything magic/psionic items up to 8,800 gp has a 75% chance of being available for purchase, while magic items beyond that will vary. Anything normal up to 50,000 gp is available (though I doubt anyone is looking to spend that much anytime soon). I am waiting for The Black Merlin to eventually make a cannon, and then get Machaera to cast shrink item on it and put it in a bag of holding so we can duplicate the scene from Zorro (Antonio Banderas version.)
As for what "books" stuff is available from, anything from Paizo, the Psionic items from Dreamscarred Press, and the 3.5 Spell, Expanded Psionics Handbook, Complete Psionic, and Magic Item Compendiums.

Corvus Cator |

Corvus will purchase a Mithril Chain Shirt +1 (2100 GP) and a wakizashi +1 (2,335).
Ready to start infiltration or negotations - that's the part that seems undecided.

"Headsman" |

Same here, I have a bit over 1000, and a +1 armor.
Corvus, are you sure you haven't accidentally doubled up somewhere?

Machaera Selanna |

I’m ready to go negotiate/reconnoitre: I figure we can do that, and then, if necessary, slink away to prepare for more aggressive action, at the expense of letting Devargo know that someone’s very interested in what he’s doing.
I’m sorry for not posting sooner to try to keep the momentum up: I’ll probably post something a bit later this evening to cover Machaera’s success in her shopping. Thanks for the clarification on what’s likely to be available!
On that note, to get things out of the way, I’ll just roll here to check for the spells Machaera’s interested in, in the order of her wishlist a few posts back. So, let's try to beat 25 on a bunch of d100 rolls: 7d100 ⇒ (49, 78, 90, 76, 84, 2, 79) = 458
Oooh, nice. Those of you who might be alarmed at how into it mages can get when they've secured a pile of scrolls might want to avert your eyes. :)

The Black Merlin |

Dang, Heads, you got me thinking about showing up as Kilo and recruiting an apprentice gunsmith/Boy Blunderbuss

Corvus Cator |

Same here, I have a bit over 1000, and a +1 armor.
Corvus, are you sure you haven't accidentally doubled up somewhere?
What is the current divide per player? Looking at the spreadsheet, the only value listed is 4889.5, but now that I'm looking from a pc so that I can see the formula, it looks like we had 1162 gold + the items sold below. Does the 1162 reflect the previous wealth update? Or was that credited out to the group?

Io Dorean |

All I’m going for is putting my shield at +1, and I’m good to go.
On a brighter note: steady schedule=more regular posting. So, hopefully I’m will become a bit chattier (for now at least)

Machaera Selanna |

Hi, Corvus,
Sorry for the delay, it’s been that sort of week (or fortnight, more likely). The loot spreadsheet as it stands was the latest haul to be divided, and then odds and ends like unclaimed potions.
The 4889.5 gp is loose change and all the stuff from Vancaskerkin’s thugs, not counting the unidentified dagger (probably just a stubborn +1 that I keep rolling low on my checks to identify, but who knows) and the stash of their ill-gotten gains. Assuming that we keep all the consumables to divvy up ad lib, bearing in mind the sell at half value rule, and so forth, as I posted a while ago, everyone gets 629 gp, and as many out of the +1 arrows, tanglefoot bags, and thunderstones as is mutually agreeable. I figure we should hold onto the arrows, at least, but if anyone wants to claim a bunch of the alchemical items and convert them into gold, I have no objection.
I’ll just help myself to one of each of tanglefoot and thunderstone (and I’ve adjusted the numbers on the spreadsheet): and the rest can be first-come, first-serve, at this point, for whatever nefarious purposes people have. I’ll clear the other items and math sometime tomorrow, so that the spreadsheet only shows what's still to be dealt with.

Corvus Cator |

Thanks for the clarification Machaera. Do you have the previous spreadsheet as well then? I believe we did a split before that retrieving the tarot deck? I just wanted to cross check totals for my own invoicing purposes.

Hello, everyone! Yay for the forums being up again! Just a quick update on my end as well: on top of the technical issues, a couple of other people’s medical emergencies in the past week and other accidents have left me the only person able to help my mother in a move from the big city to the boonies for a new job, even though I’m still recovering from my own business earlier this summer. That’s going to take up most of my time between now and Wednesday, though hopefully after that things will settle in to closer to normal, and I’ll be able to post regularly again. It’s shaping up to be a strange year, when going back to school for a new semester is a relaxing prospect in comparison!

Yanis Boulin |

I don't track XP in my games becuase it is just one of those things that if the PCs miss something they don't get the XP.
Also Thank you very much

Machaera Selanna |

Hello, everyone,
I’m so sorry to have imposed on your patience as I have these past weeks. I’m still recovering, and it turns out (who knew?) going from medical leave back to full-time when one still has two and half hours of physical therapy to deal with every day, split over two inconvenient sessions, requires some adjustments. Basically, on top of everything else, my ideal daily rhythm is impossible at the moment, and I’ve finally realized that I’ve got to bite the bullet and take my opportunities when I can to do absolutely everything, including things that are fun.
On that note, I hope I can finally start posting again, if more slowly and less exuberantly than I would like for the next little while. We’ll see how it goes?
*Grumble, grumble.* Life-changing events and all that. I’m getting a better appreciation for the problem of qualia than I would like. What registers cognitively when one’s doctors say, “This is what we’re going to need to do…” and what that actually means can be two alarmingly different things. Fingers crossed, I’ll at least get my nine-to-five back in eight weeks, and start getting used to more or less living it again. In the meantime, it's grabbing each moment as it races by.

The Black Merlin |

Glad to hear you've made it through so far. Keep plugging away! You only missed a pretty severe server outage on Paizo's end, so in a way, it all kind of worked out.

Machaera Selanna |

Sorry, folks, I fell off the face of the earth last week with work: last night was the first I’ve had in the past seven that I got even a full six hours of sleep. How decadent! This week still has a nasty bit of running around before things get back to something closer to normal before the hols, but this week I think I should be able to post again, starting this evening.
