Kiva glances at K'exik long enough to take in who it is that has crept up behind her and why he's touching her before nodding her head and allowing him to slip the bracelet on her wrist. Finding herself now in easy reach of other people, she takes a step back and lays her palm against the Lyrandar next to her (Tam or is it Zam?) and begins casting. 5' step to D15, casting Enlarge Person

Kiva's swing goes wide, but the icicle freezes a small spot of the elemental's body before being absorbed into the water.
Ethaniel calls out, "Zam, Silloene, with me! Starboard!" He presses onward with his falchion and leads the others to attack. When Silloene ceases her concentration on aiding the Captain, the airship pitches to the left momentarily.
"Finish this quickly, Talons!" The Captain calls from the wheel. "She's already straining my control!"
Ethaniel and Alain tango with the water elemental on the starboard stairs. Ethaniel stabs with his falchion as Alain strikes with his scimitar. Both men are unable to land solid blows on the creature.

The orb of viscous fluid dissolves small holes in the mephit's wings. As it burns, the creature looks at you with malicious glee. It seems that it was speaking to someone or something that is not here, as if its call for aid went unanswered. K'exik's trident has the creature pinned to the deck. It coughs a spittle of dark blue blood. "This is not your storm, Daughter-of-Lyran. I may return to the waters soon, but Death awaits you." The elf is visibly fatigued from the endeavor.

The mephit's hand unfurls in death and drops a small bone wand to the deck.
The rest of the crew look about, clapping each other on the shoulders. The wounded start to head below deck, but Ethaniel despite his wounds, stays at the doors to below, ready to answer any questions the patrons will surely have. Tamriel looks around, waiting for his larger condition to fade before he goes down below. Zam rushes over to him, making sure his brother is all right. With the threat of immediate conflict abated, the dragonmarked heirs ease their control over the elemental bound in the ring. The captain looks down at you with a smile, but she maintains her post at the wheel.

The elf regains his composure, standing up from the railing. He looks down at the blood spattered on his robes. "There are moments when I lose myself to the blood-lust of battle. Like a shark, the scent or sight of blood draws me into a frenzy, of which I am sometimes unable to willing pull myself out of while I have foes standing. The creature was a water mephit, a small elemental creature usually found on other worlds, but many of them are common in the Thunder Sea- water, steam, and lightning in particular. Scholars say that that there are mephits for every element you can think of. They are minor annoyances, they see themselves as grand messengers for greater powers," The Emissary smiles as he pushes back his dark hair. "Not unlike myself in that matter. Are you faring well, Kiva?"
DragonBlood472 |
While K'exik and Kiva talk, the powers that enlarged Tamriel finally fade. "Great! Thanks again, Kiva!" the khoravar slaps his brother on the back and they both make their way to the galley.
Ethaniel was able to deter many of the passengers troubled by the turbulence of the storm and battle, and as of yet only those of House Lyrandar and Emissary Alezara know what transpired.
Alain walks towards the prow with bucket and rags, and begins washing away the blood, pulling the trident out of the deck and setting it down. He places the body of the mephit in a burlap sack, but seems lost as to what to do with it.
As Kiva scans the clouds, she thinks she catches a glimpse of something blue against the greys and blacks of the clouds, but when she tries to look again all she can see is a few feet past the Talon before everything fades in the rain and cloud cover.

"A little bruised. Nothing broken. I took his, ah, wand. We can examine it in private."
Kiva gives Tamriel a mock salute in response to his statement of gratitude.
Kiva begins to speak to Alain, "Throw him over..." but pauses midsentence as she thinks she sees something in the storm. She turns back to K'exik. "Don't suppose you saw that, did you? No, you were looking the other way. Perhaps our lovely Captain caught another glimpse"
DragonBlood472 |
Alain scoops up the sack and chucks the body off the side of the airship. Grinning he says, "I sure hope you were going to finish that sentence with 'board' before you were stricken numb by my dashing good looks. I'd wink, but, you know," smiling even wider he points to his eyepatch. "Because if you were going to say 'Over here,' then I'm afraid it's a long way down to fetch that little bastard."
Judging by the shape you saw briefly illuminated by the lightning, the silhouette was easily the size of the ship, if not larger.
Sense Motive check, please.
