I can do the math for y'all, just confirm these are the things you'd like to sell off:

Grappling Hook 1
Scroll of Spider Climb 150
Scroll of Remove Disease 375
Holy Water (3) 100
Oil of Bless Weapon 50
Potion Protection from Evil 50
Sunrod (3) 6
Potion Magic Stone 50
Scroll Summon Monster I 25
Wand Corrosive Touch (20 charges) 750
Corrosive Scimitar 2015
Ominous Heavy Mace 2012
Scroll of Locate Creature (CL7) 700

Or otherwise please claim these items!

dirge bard 5 | hp 48/48 | ac 18 (t 12 ff 16) | ini 7 | per 5| f 4 r 6 w 5 | spells 1/5 0/3 | perform 9/16| clw 3|

I think we ought to keep the scimitar for just one more mission. Otherwise, yeah!

campaign info | maps

Ok, selling off those items, plus the cash you already had, nets 5658.86gp. Selja wants to see if she can get a discount on those scrolls, so let's see what you'll have leftover.

If the goal is to equalize the party, looks like Turante can take it all and still be behind Selja and Moira, although she has that spellbook which isn't accounted for in her wealth. She'll also have to spend money to transfer spells into her own spellbook, but once done can probably sell it off at a hefty price to the right buyer.

I'll give Moira the Spartoi Seeds.
Who wants to wield the Corrosive Scimitar?
Who wants to hold onto the Bead of Force?
Who wants to wear the Ring of Counterspells?

Female Elf Ranger (Guide, Trapper) 1/Wizard (Exploiter) 4 | HP 11/35 | AC 16 (20 mage armor) T 13 FF 13 | Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +4 | Initiative +5 | Perception +11 (+12 vs. traps or in forests) | Arcane Reservoir 5/7

The main hurdle on scribing over spells is time. 2 hours per level of the spell, I believe, so that's a few days.

dirge bard 5 | hp 48/48 | ac 18 (t 12 ff 16) | ini 7 | per 5| f 4 r 6 w 5 | spells 1/5 0/3 | perform 9/16| clw 3|

The ghost has been dead a long time--I don't think she'll mind a few more days.

Male Human Sorcerer 1, Wizard 4. | HP 27 | AC 13 (17) F 12 T 13 | F 3 R 3 W5 | percept +0 | init +7

Zeetri would be a good contender for the ring, if anyone wants to mention it to him.

campaign info | maps

Y'all can use as much downtime as you see fit.

Agree we have time to deal with the long-slumbering undead. Zeetri and Turante may want to share spell knowledge.

Someone with a good ranged attack should take the Bead of Force. That would be not-Selja.

@GM--do we know anything about spells a mummy lord might use, for the Ring of Counterspells?

campaign info | maps

You know that Lord Soma was a Serpentfolk Priest of Ydersius before transforming into a Mummy Lord.

You can try a Kn. Nature for info on Serpentfolk, or Kn. Religion for info on Ydersius or Mummy Lords.

Zeetri did you use Ivar's extra funds to purchase the wand you were talking about?

Did the group use Ivar's 300 gp in the purchase of a wand yet?

Just trying to make sure my sheet is accurate :)

I was wrong about the price of the rod. I won't be able to afford it for a while, and I can't create it yet. Keep that gold. Thanks.

campaign info | maps

I think there was some talk about purchasing a new CLW wand. There is one available in town, you'll have to roll to see if there's more than one ;)

Cool, so once things get rolling if you want cash stuff Ivar will be happy to oblige. He tends to waste a lot of money....

Here's a proposed spell loadout for fighting a mummy lord. The last spell at each level is a Domain spell that's pretty limited in terms of options.

3rd (DC17): Magic Circle Against Evil, Prayer, Protection from Energy
2nd (DC16): Burst of Radiance, Burst of Radiance, Remove Paralysis, Barkskin
1st (DC15): Consecrate, Divine Favor, Remove Fear, Weapons Against Evil, Shield
0th (DC14): Detect Magic, Guidance, Light, Stabilize, ______

Ok that one works!

campaign info | maps

As far as ABP, at level 5 you should have these bonuses:
3rd Resistance +1
4th Armor attunement +1, weapon attunement +1
5th Deflection +1

so basically, you get the benefits of a Cloak of Resistance +1, +1 armor, +1 weapon, and a Ring of Deflection +1, for free!

Automatic Bonus Progression

Ok, I think I will take two days to copy blindness/deafness, invisibility, make whole, shield, and vanish. Um... that will cost 400 gp, which I don't have. Is there money in a slush fund for the party?

dirge bard 5 | hp 48/48 | ac 18 (t 12 ff 16) | ini 7 | per 5| f 4 r 6 w 5 | spells 1/5 0/3 | perform 9/16| clw 3|

Yes. We are very wealthy.

I should be able to give an update this evening. Ok a work trip to San Diego this week.

campaign info | maps

Still working on cleaning up the inventory tracker:

Ivar, you seem to have the best ranged attack with a +7, do you want the Bead of Force?

What's your Wand of CLW situation? Moira has one and Selja has one, but how many charges left? There's one wand certainly available in Belhaim, but you'll have to roll to see if there's a second available.

I deducted the 400gp for Turante's scribing, that leaves the party with 5208.86gp. Do y'all want to just pool all available cash, or should we divvy it up?

GM_WilloftheWylde wrote:

IF the group wants to keep it sure, I'll carry it. IF they want the money then no.

May I recommend after this split that a cut goes to 'group consumables'? With five of us, do a six-way split and the sixth will be used for clw wands and those sorts of things

Edit Does the group need Ivar's 300 gp for a wand? If not I'm going to replace it with the original potion.

campaign info | maps

well, the thing is, you CAN'T sell the Bead of Force, not in Belhaim at least, because of economic constrictions.

Could be a useful item agains at Mummy Lord, IMO.

I'll give it to you for now.

Oh, and I went ahead and saved the 3 Holy Waters that were available and gave them to Selja. The powdered silver listed as a material component for Circle of Protection does not have a listed cost, so is considered negligible.

dirge bard 5 | hp 48/48 | ac 18 (t 12 ff 16) | ini 7 | per 5| f 4 r 6 w 5 | spells 1/5 0/3 | perform 9/16| clw 3|

A collective party fund is a good idea.

As y'all know, I'm a proponent of rough parity when it comes to party wealth. I have cooked up schemes for this in the past, but usually parties feel awkward about splitting loot and shrug and hem and haw (all from generous good-heartedness and gamespersonship I think!). I've only managed to implement schemes as DM. But I still like them.

Here's my favorite-so-far method:

For those who enjoy fair division:

Assuming all party members' wealth should balance when it doesn't weaken the party:

--At the end of a questing session, party members can choose from found loot. Usually it makes intuitive sense who should get what.

--Loot can always be claimed, even if it throws off wealth parity.

--Loot only counts for sell-value (1/2) when calculating party member wealth. This makes keeping loot more efficient than selling it, of course, which is as it should be, in my opinion.

--Once loot is divvied, then the party takes stock of the new individual wealth values. We sell unclaimed loot (as possible... Belhaim), pool coin, and distribute it to the poorest party member until they are as rich as the second poorest. Then, both of them get a share of the remaining gold until they are as rich as the third poorest. And so on until the richest party member finally gets a share, which might only happen sometimes.

--Because loot counts at half value, total character wealth can still end up pretty spiky. But this method openly privileges keeping loot over selling it, which makes the party as a whole more powerful.

--Using this system takes a little more bookkeeping than the current spreadsheet is designed to handle, and I'd be happy to try to maintain totals if the party's interested!

--Sold loot returns to the party fund and is allocated to the poorest member, even if it's your ancestral sword from starting money. Shame on you for selling gramps' sword!

If the party wants to name Moira treasurer, I can try to convert the spreadsheet's numbers into my system and distribute the surplus accordingly.

campaign info | maps

I'd be happy to appoint you treasurer! Along with the responsibility comes the privilege of gently reminding other players of their useful items in mid combat ;)

A friendly GM reminder: If you return to Belhaim successful, you'll owe Nilos 2,400gp for the scrolls.

Male Human Sorcerer 1, Wizard 4. | HP 27 | AC 13 (17) F 12 T 13 | F 3 R 3 W5 | percept +0 | init +7

Moira, that sounds great. You have my full support as treasurer. I also am a proponent of a "group consumables" cut. Mission specific items, like the scrolls and tingle foot bags, or something that will benefit and be used by the entire party.

campaign info | maps

oh, thanks I forgot the tanglefoot bags, you each get one. That's 250gp.

campaign info | maps

Zeetri, this really pertains to you as you have over 5k in cash.

Right now here's the cash situation:
Group: 4958.86
Ivar: 362.06
Moira: 94
Selja: 619
Turante: 200.9
Zeetri: 5233.5

Female Half-Orc Cleric (Divine Paragon of Shelyn) 5 | HP 38/38 | AC:24 (26 vs Evil) T:13 FF:22 CMD:18 | F+8 R+5 W+11 (+13 vs illusion and fear) ; (+2 save bonus vs Evil)| Init+5 | Perc+4 | Haste, Magic Circle Against Evil, Shield, Inspire Courage

FYI, Selja has a CLW wand she brought with her at character creation with 31 charges left.

Added 3 holy water to my inventory!

Sorry for the hold up, its been a busy week!

I had a gallery opening on Saturday, if you're interested please take a look:

I've got a few more things to prepare before moving forward, but soon!

Congrats on the show! Reminds me a little of Giacomo Balla's Iridescent Interpenetrations series, which I love.

If we're sharing art... I just self-released the fifth volume of my weird guitar project. If you're curious, it's set up for free download or browser streaming.

In the project, I record my electric guitar directly without amplification while playing half-asleep in bed in the pitch dark. The results are unusual, at least. It's a record of a process that is only just starting to pay off, more sharing a sketchbook than an art gallery show, but it's what I got.

Thas cool.

I have a dream music project of psychedelic surf rock based on Operation Fishbowl in which the US military detonated A-bombs in space.

I really dig your impromptu in the dark music. I wonder if I should give Moira the blind fight feat just because.

Selja and Turante, how are you?

Hi folks. Sorry for the delay.

I've come to the conclusion that I want to wind down my PbP games. I've done PbPs for a long time and enjoyed them, but I've been struggling with checking in regularly. I want to put down Lord Some of the Pale, and then Selja will retire. Sorry for the impact on this game.
