King Rupert Surtova, and all their leaders, have disappeared while at a secret reunion. Now their cohorts will have to deal with the fate of their new Kingdom without them... A Kingdom that may well never come to being, unless they are able to secure it even while Kingless.

After helping Xi'Tir gather the rest of the steeds and assorted beasts, Halcorg looks again to Xi'Tir.
We must find the others. Every one of us is the companion of someone in that tent. We must find the others and figure out how to find out friends.

With that, Halcorg begins to head back, stopping first at Rider's tent camp, then heading back to the inn where the witches had taken residence. (Will also stop at the Hero's camp wherever they are.)

Once the group has been assembled:
My friends, my skill with words is not great. Our friends are taken. Where, I know not. I believe they are alive. We must find them.

It takes a long time for Xi'Tir to give up the search, she goes as far as to tear at the burnt earth with her hands. She looked for something, ANYTHING that indicate her sister was alive. When she found nothing she shrieked at the dawn sky with fury. If she ever found that waitress again she'd skin her alive and find out what, if, she had to do with this. Then someone would pay, dearly...

She nodded numbly when Halcorg spoke of telling the others, she'd promised to protect them and she hadn't even had the chance to cry out. She'd failed.

When the others were assembled Xi and Chi sat cuddled together like lost kittens. She nodded numbly as Halcorg spoke of what happen. At this point she'd have agreed to anything as she stared into space. Ni had always been there, always without fail and in an instant she was gone.

She spoke to no one in particular as she thouht aloud of what she saw. "Da wind it howled and cam' funnelin' down like an angry void. It covered da tent and den they were gone. Burnt earth remained, my sista... She'd not be taken so easily. But..." The entire time she spoke she started fidgeting with the scrolltube in her bag, scratching at idly as she thought.

The reactions from the followers are of disbelief and anger. Several of the more magical inclined go back to the place to check, as some of the most inquisitive.
Not so much later the "Four Swords" arrive, disheveled and obviously after a night of partying.
"Halcorg! What happened? We heard that Master Aldori Disappeared, along with some of your guys and the Surtova guy! Tell us!"
Seems like word of what happened is getting around...
Not long after a cart surrounded by four mounted knights appear. The cart has a banner with the Surtova family crest. The Halfling cohort of Rupert is driving it.
"Is it true? Are all of them dead? How saw it? What did you saw?"
After you tell him what you saw he stands tall over the cart.
"Rupert Surtova was a great man. And he was wise. He even saw fit to be ready in this eventuality. He wanted the resources the Dragonscale throne committed to the new nation were used for it, even in case of his passing. He made a will, and that will now lies with you. It is time to know is he put his trust in the right person. But there is something more. That will doesn't mean anything to those in power. Those who will come to take those resources and use them for their own purposes."
He looks at all of you.
"They should arrive soon. What are we going to do?"

Halcorg looks up, or down actually, at the halfling, while scratching the white spotted snow leopard standing silently next to him. Upon hearing the halfling's words, Halcorg growls, like a beast.

The are not dead. They are taken. I see no struggle or death. No bodies. Evil magic I see. This evil is to stop the new land. Evil magic take my wife. If I must, I crush every evil skull to get her. If evil want to stop new land, then I bring new land to the Stolen Lands. My wife and the King will fight this evil where they are. We fight here by making new land. We fight together. Any who oppose will die.

Halcorg finishes this statement almost yelling. While speaking, his giant earthbreaker has appeared in his hands together with his bladed klar. Although not as tall as the Mwangi, he is a giant of a man garbed in a combination of pelts and skins over his protective armor. The look is enough to bring fear to most not from the harsh lands of the Shoanti.

Nothin can stop us if we work together. Especially with da dragonmen we can do someting good because..." It takes a moment to gather her words. "... I trust dem. And my Sista isn't dead, she tougher den da oak and one with da earth. But I must go ta da city and deliver a message..." The scrolltube in her pack was like a weight on her spirit and she was unsure if she needed to deliver it now or wait...

The Halfling doesn't seem intimidated.
"Brave words barbarian! But I fear unless we find a way to return them to us, they are as good as dead for our purposes. Who are we going to fight against? The Dragonscale throne? Restov City? All of them? Where are we going to fight them? Because we don't have much time..."

Halcorg glares down at the halfling.

We conquer the Stolen Lands. Kidnapper not want this, so we do it. If some magic type can find how to get them, we follow. If not, we fight were we can. Here. In this land. In the stolen lands.

We defeat this enemy with our tools. My wife taken because we go to stolen land. We show we not afraid. We beat enemy at his game.

Halcorg pauses for a moment:
If we do nothing, then they is good as dead. I do not allow to happen.

The halfling points at Xi'Tir:

"You, woman! Bring here what you were given!"
He gets the scroll case, opens it, and starts to read:
"I, King Rupert I of Sloboda, being able of body and soul, declare that in case of my death the Barons of the Lands have all the rights for the resources the Dragonscale Throne and other parties has given me for the colonization of the lands, on the condition that my faithful cohort..

I also declare that the Barons have the right to choose a new King by the method they see fit. About my fiefdom, I grant it to my Daughter, Alexandria, and name Venetia Medvied as her representative until she is of age."
Anando, now you know his name, finish reading with his voice breaking and a couple of tears.
"Here are those resources the King spoke of!"
He uncovers the cart he is carrying. Inside there are documents of trade, gold bars, gems and other resources to colonize the Stolen Lands. All of you grow silent at the wealth and promise of what he is showing you.
"I took them from where we had them, and the troops of the Dragonscale throne should be here to reclaim them in less than an hour. We can't move them quick enough, so they will catch us here with it. So I ask you again: What are we going to do?"

The news was a hammer blow, the Silver Dragonflight was in disorder at the sudden unexpected loss of their Lord and it was then she opened the letter Danath had given her. What it contained left her shocked, so much so that she teared up as she held it against her tear stained cheek. Only a fool would trust a woman who couldn't remember who she was... "We will."

A determined, albeit red-eyed Seraph stands at the head of the amassed Silver Draonflight. Only half of them were present the other half were hastily breaking down their camp and readying to depart southward as was her command. They had Chimalma in tow and Aru as well. "With Chimalma we can get this moving, sorry Ni'Tir but your cart will remain behind. But we cannot allow this to fall into the hands of the Dragonscale Throne, especially if they wish to stop us."

"Is big and strong, I grant you that, but can it outrun the Dragonscale Throne horses? And we are too many to hide, too big a target, with too short time."

Daliedhur's mind raced as she rode madly towards the appointed meeting location - her brother, her beloved sibling, TAKEN!

Spurring Leaf even further, the magnificent horse whinied and increased his gallop even harder - to no avail... When she arrived, the scene was exactly as HAlcorg had described it - empty, nothing but some sort of charred soil remains where the pavillion once stood.

A few moments later the Ravens managed to catch up to the elven ranger - "Where is Edeldhur?" - they asked, addressing him simply by name as it was his wish.

With a handful of soil in her hands, unable to ascertain at all what exactly had happened there, Daliedhur offered but a short, dry answer - "Gone. Taken"

"Come!" - getting back on her horse after thoroughly searching the area, they all returned to the assembly with a dark mood indeed.

------------------------------------------

Disheveled and sweating, the elven woman barged into the meeting shortly before the news of the approaching Dragonscale Throne cavalry - while the others spoke, she drank some water, allowing herself to calm down before speaking or acting.

The Ravens gathered around her waited patiently for her words, which eventually came addressing all - "I don't really see that many options ahead of us. My heart screams for me to stand and fight if it comes to that - my brother has offered his word on a pledge, and by consequence, as it has always been in our life, mine is also offered"

With a sour smile, she continues - "He had... HAS hopes and dreams for this, has been nurturing them for years! And in many ways, it is my obligation to carry them out, as much as it has alwas been my will also. His word is mine, and for that my blood boils to carry it out to the bitter end. And damn those that would stand in our way!" - her deep, dark blue eyes shining under the light of the fires.

"But there is one thing that Edel has taught me - not all fights are won by arrow or steel - some are turned by word or deception - that is not my way, but he has made me understand its value. As practical as we may want to be, the fact is that we must ask ourselves if we can fight an army - I am almost sure we all know the answer. And this mean we can simply acquiesce to whatever is requested of us, and stand aside, in the shadows, watching what comes to be, and pushing for our goals from cover"

Looking all around, she finishes - "There is foul play at stake here - there HAS to be! And I feel like digging in the nearest copse of trees, and rain death on whomever approaches, as my will cries for revenge - but it may not be our best option. We are probably not friends here, maybe... Privileged acquaintances...? But however we stand in this, we should stand together - and Seraph is right, we are missing information, so we should send our fastest scout to gather it, and double back to us. Leaf, my elven horse, rides as fast as the wind, but I know others here may command magical powers that can perhaps carry them faster and further away? Every moment counts! What say you?"

"We leave!" Tatiana answers her friend Daliedhur. "We need to secure the purpose of our family, friends, and lovers. Then, we need to find them. But, first security. Let's go." Tatiana inspires the troops to overcome her own fear and pain of losing Szymon. She just keeps moving forward with the Will of Desna guiding her.

Tatiana Fortuna is relatively tall at six feet, and her statuesque build is a perfect harmony of strength, grace, and femininity. She continues to be staggeringly beautiful that both men and women find themselves initially speechless in her presence. Her party dress has been replaced by fine full plate armor and an elegant riding outfit of muted gray that accentuates her natural curves and platinum holy symbol of Desna. Her weapon’s belt hangs a Morningstar, scabbards a dagger, and straps a chirurgeon’s kit. She shoulders a light steel shield, masterwork backpack, light crossbow, and two quivers of bolts.

She holds the reins of a heavy warhorse wearing parade barding from Restov easily identifying her as a Hero of Restov.

Halcorg suddenly steps forward:
I no like hiding and not telling truth. But . . . now is time to make stand. We not strong enough to beat Dragonscale army. But . . . Dragonscale army not know where is gold. We hide gold. Whoever best at stories. This person say King take gold. Gold gone with King and my wife and your friends.

Just think. Who in Restov trusts underling with this gold. Not King. King take with him. King still have gold. Where King and gold, we no know.

This gold is to make Stolen Lands. We use to find friends and to make Stolen Lands. This gold not for Dragonscale army to buy fancy clothes or good food. It for new Land. It for us!

My thought is that we use a few summoned earth elementals to dig a pit and we simply hide the gold somewhere slightly off the trail. When the Dragonscale army arrives, we tell them that the gold and other goods were with Rupert. Where he is and the gold is, we do not know.

He then rushes over to the scene, looking for her body or anything that may indicate what had happened. Hearing the others mention the possibility she was taken with the king, he calms down and joins the conference.

Anton nods, agreeing with the sentiment to leave. "There is no point going to war when there may be a chance, even a slight one, that Rhasa... that the King will return. We can't leave the funds behind. If we can't hide it all, we should spread it around and take as much as we can with us as we scatter to the winds. Her eyes shining again, the elf proceeds - "We cannot give in to desperation, and we definitely cannot leave - I say we stand our ground, and I either push for us to make Halcorg's words our own, and use deception" - she pauses for a moment - "Or we simply claim our stake in all this, with the bare simple truth - we want to be the ones carrying out what our brothers, spouses and friends had set to do - and tame the Stolen Lands"

Again looking at all that are gathered, she pushes - "That IS what we are for, is it not?"

Having these items would be a great boon but we can succeed without them, it'll take longer but the bottom line is we can go to the Mayor of Restov and get his backing instead of the Dragonscale throne and there lies our legitimacy. Seraph shakes her head, as much as there was a good debate going on. She hated to do anything that would get them branded as a traitor or worse murderers and deep down she knew they'd spin it that way if they just up and stole as much as they could. "Despite the lack of faith in the law it still won't stop them from branding us even if we leave the gold and run. It would make us look even more suspect if we all fled Breovy at the time Rupert vanished. I'll not have my Lord branded as such, even at the cost of my life. I will make my stand here with Anando who by Ruperts own hand has been named Treasurer." She turns to one of her mounted bodyguard. "Take a different path but go to the Mayor and try and summon his aid, tell him what is happening here. Do this quickly."

She wouldn't sit idle, her camp was breaking down, she had half her forces arrayed near this wagon and if that document was indeed intended to go to the mayor than by Cayden she would have his support.

1 vote for: Take Nothing and Hold Ground.

Alastair looked at Seraph and nodded at her grim determination, being in command was harder then ever before. But with the Dragon banner and their reputation at stake she could ill afford a single mistake.

Xi'Tir smiles at Daliedhur, her smile dims when Daliedhur hesitates to speak for a moment. "My sista has grown since last ya saw her, she can become a great beast no and when we find dem again we will help ya fight Treerazor. We'll crush him under blade and claw mon. No doubt on dat."

When the dragonscale troops get close she will cast Lead Blades on herself before they arrive. It has a 5 min duration~

Seeing as it had came to a vote she shrugged her shoulders and agreed with Seraph. "Dis gonna be interestin'..." Especially since they had a document from Rupert that stated what he wanted done. Now it was just upto Ananado and hopefully the Mayor to possibly hold off the evil dragonmen from taking back the items.

vote to stay :/

Forgive me if I don't make a big post... But you are doing it fine for now! :D
Anando gives you bad news...
"The treasure was at our camp, so the Dragonscale throne troops know I took it, and not King Rupert. They are like 50 knights and a couple hundred infantry soldiers. "
Anando questions Mulray...
"Do you think you can outrun them? If you can I can always go one way with my cart filled with rocks and yours towards the Stolen Lands..."
The Fours Swords go near Halcorg...
"If you lead us, we say we fight them here! "
A couple hundred Cenobitic monks arrive, and one of them says...
" We won't fight, but we can stand in front of them to slow them down, if you wish to make a run for it... The Stolen Lands is our only home now, and we are willing to die for it... "

"We all stay, or we all go." Tatiana replies flatly. "Besides Anando, none of us are recognized barons. Anando has been named Treasurer to the kingdom. Therefore, without our companions, this material belongs to you Anando as the rightful regent of Rupert's daughter Alexandria." She directly faces the halfling, "While you may want someone else to decide your fate, you should make that decision yourself."

"Do they have a champion? Perhaps a duel to prove the righteousness, or whatever, of our cause will work to solve the problem?" Anton asks, stroking the hilt of his dueling blade.

Tatiana's words were more then perfect, indeed the decision was Anando's however Seraph couldn't help but look to her mounted body guard. They had a four other horses they could use but no matter what they couldn't outrun the fifty odd calvary coming for them. The men at arms had Longspears but it wouldn't be enough; they were outnumbered with little options.

Neji is on one of her Courier runs when she hears about her best friend's disappearance. Luckily, the package load for the day had been light, letting her finish early for once. As such, the gnome is quickly able to direct her flying eidolon after the Shoanti man gathering the associates of the missing leaders.

She is quiet throughout the meeting, and truth be told, the little Lazula is at a bit of a loss of what to do. Janus could very well be dead, killed before he ever got to find the fate of his missing mother or establish himself in the Stolen Lands. Even for a chatterbox like Neji, such thoughts are a bit hard to digest. They are a reminder of how fragile life can truly be at times.

After all of this talk about what to do with the mountain of resources that landed on their plates, Neji looks at the nonchalant Destroyerman and then back at the cart of gold.

"I really don't have room to talk here; I mean, I was just gonna deliver some mail when they got a postage system running. I haven't taken an oath to anyone, so technically, I am just Janus Sevenstar's best friend. However, I'm not gonna let his legacy end right here. Sevenstarland is gonna happen. As such, if ya want these treasures to be secure, give them to D-Man over there. I can desummon him in about three seconds, and he will return to a private plane of existence that only I can access. He can carry half a ton at least, so we should be able to get a lot of stuff safe. If we have any magic storage bags like my haversack, then so much the better."

"I know I'm a total stranger asking for a lot of trust, but as a Courier, I do this all the time. As long as I can take one minute to call him back, everything will be alright. We don't even have to technically lie. We can just say that all of this stuff currently resides in another dimension like our friends."

Xi'Tir removes her muleback cords and her muscles visibly shrink. Offering it to Neji. She is visibly shaking at the thought of letting that thing wear it but for her sister and their success she'd do anything. No matter how loathsome. "Can ya... ya use dis? It makes ya stronga..."

Muleback Cords:

These thick leather cords wrap around the wearer’s biceps and shoulders; when worn, they make the muscles appear larger than normal. The wearer treats his Strength score as 8 higher than normal when determining his carrying capacity (see Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook page 171). This bonus does not apply to combat, breaking items, or any other Strength-related rolls except the amount of equipment or material the wearer can carry.

Seraph looks at Neji, a look of surprise at the suggestion. It was an interesting suggestion and it could just work. "We have to have trust now, or else our plan is doomed and I for one will place my trust in you. So if you can do it then and no one has an objection then I say do it, at least then some of it will be saved."

Darn you for Ninjaing me Xi! So gonna douse you with water when I see you!

When Xi offered up her magical item Seraph looked on in surprise but hoped that the idea would work...

Neji nods and promptly begins to untie her tiny cloak. After stuffing it in her handy haversack, she takes the Muleback Cords from the Mwangi Ranger. She then waves a small hand over to her eidolon, who quickly moves to his summoner's side and kneels before her. As Neji ties the cords on Destroyerman, she begins to explain.

"Thank ya, Xi'Tir. I would've made one of these for D-Man ages ago, but for some reason, if I'm wearing a magic item somewhere, he can't put on anything in the same place. Luckily, I was able to make a belt that triples his strength anyway. They should work nicely in conjunction."

Once the Muleback Cords are secure, the already powerful and strong eidolon looks like he could lift an ox in each hand and not be bothered.

"Alright, we should put any important papers and the most valuable items in my haversack. The rest we should figure out how to box up in such a way that he could carry it."

With the Muleback Cords and his Heavyload Belt, Destroyerman can carry about 2,760 pounds as a heavy load. I say we load him up. Anything really important/valuable/heavy goes in magic storage. The rest can go in bags.

How long until the Dragonscle throne troops appear Corsario?

Xi'Tir nods, her shaking subsiding, as the strange D-Man's already powerful frame grows even more thick and densely muscled. "I can help with da packin' but I don't have anyting else ta give ya..."

Ni'Tir's Handy Haversack probably got left behind as she wouldn't have had a reason to carry it in. So safe bet it's on Chimalma who I think is nearby...?
