As for recruiting another, I'm not opposed, but since they'd be starting two behind that would throw them off for some scenarios unless a) they could make it up with GM Core credit for someone other than us, or b) they started with 2 XP. And of course they'd have to be able to play the scenarios we've outlined, etc.

I'm semi-okay with just letting us go on, but let me see if there's a player I might ask.

I discussed things with Dien and I’m going to be bringing a bard.../pally I have this character at 2.33 which will give some wiggle room down the line (and it means I don’t have to scramble for two games of credit hehe). Her first two levels are pally but all the rest will be bard.

It’s late so I’ll just dot gameplay for now and I’ll give a proper post tomorrow.

Also, Klo is updated and ready to rock. No purchases right now. I'm saving up for 9 Fame / 700g for some Dragonhide armor. :D

though if we need team purchases (wands, scrolls, etc), I'm happy to spend prestige or pitch in. I don't think reaching that 700g will be tough when we hit that point. :D

Alternatively, you could buy it for 2 PA (since it is 750 gp or less), which ignores the fame requirement. Just keep in mind it has a value of 0 gp if you ever wanted to sell it.

Um. What? Prestige purchases bypass the fame limit? So I could have my armor now?

If it didn't bypass the requirement, characters need to refund a LOT of Wands of Cure Light Wounds. ;)

Edit: But yes, prestige point purchases are specifically called out as Always Available.

The typical things I buy for martials with my prestige are backup weapons. For example, my gnome core fighter brought a masterwork gnome hooked hammer (cold iron one side, silver the other) and his composite longbow each with 2 prestige.

...they also buy wands but I have a propensity to give all my pure martial characters UMD (Wand of Longstrider is so useful). I think that's more a personal issue.

Jikan is all ready. For the record: new purchases are Wand of Mage Armor (2 PA) and rebuying the Scroll of Obscuring Mist (25 gp). He will get that Cure Wand eventually!

Nice thing is that chronicle has a partial cure wand, fwiw. Okay, sorry it's taken me a day or two to catch up. Will get a current sheet posted soon and going to chime in right now.

Chronicle sheet / gear update: I picked up a dragonhide breastplate for 2 prestige and a masterwork spear for 302 gold.

Yah, after much thought — and a few crits — I think i'm going to have Klo stick with his trusty spear. It's just so thematic for him at this point, even if it's just straight up crazy inferior to a greatsword or falchion. :D

I'll just bank on high strength + rage + power attack to make sure his damage output is good enough.

I'm open to the idea of there being a new edition of pathfinder.

I don't think this impacts us much, except that if we need new blood we may not find any. But then again, if we needed new blood we could probably manage as we know enough people who are well established on the forums.

We also have another year and a half before the story of pfs stops being written for PF1.

Other than that, I am not sure it really affects us, as we are almost like a mini campaign; short of the group breaking down, the characters were going to stay in this group.

I don't think it really affects us at all if people want to continue. They have stated that people can keep playing PFS 1.0 if they want, and even if not the chronicles and adventures are still there.

I am a little bummed as I came to PFS late in the 10 year run. Still have much to explore and characters to play, but now I feel like pursuing race boon or other cool/interesting rewards are all for naught. Plus, the move from 3.5 to 4e burned me bad. I still have to go to physical therapy for the skin graft to my wallet on that one. I would be happier if there were conversion rules in place or a way to grandfather in established charaters (or at least be able to select one with a boon or some such).

Well Korum, how many scenarios have you played? If you have played less than 150, you still have plenty of room to play. I would also say that this is going to make race boons easier to get for little to nothing.

Finally, I'd offer the following: There is a local con here called Total Con. Every year, they have a table or two running AD&D content all weekend. This is an edition that hasn't received support since 2000. I guarantee you that if they can find people to fill their tables all weekend, you will be able to find people to play PFS with PF1 rules with some effort, either online or in person.

I'm generally looking forward to PF 2E. I've enjoyed 1E, but my only usage of it in the last year has been on the boards (and it's been pretty limited, at that). I guess with that limited level of investment, I'm just interested to see where the game will go next.

I'm sort of looking at a lot of my 25ish existing PFS chars and going "okay, well.... which of these should I bother playing going forward..."

I'd probably be happier if there were some sort of conversion option over to 2E, but I can grasp that being just logistically impossible-- how are you going to convert an arcanist when the class doesn't exist in 2E yet, etc, and maybe won't ever. Give multiple free total rebuilds to a hundred thousand players? No.

I dunno. It's a little early for me to tell yet how I'll actually feel about it once I see a rulebook.

But yes, the odds are that-- especially online-- those who still want to play 1E will find no shortage of groups here willing to do so. The issue will be less with the players like you, Korum, who have a lot of scenarios you can still play. For players like me (at my last count I had only about 15 scenarios left in regular PFS I could play), it'll basically be this last season and a half and then just filling in those last few missing scenarios for completion's sake. Ah well.

Let me know if there are any scenarios or modules you want to play. And while I usually prefer not to rerun scenarios I have already run, that does not apply here gor anyone in this thread. Truely, I've been having a blast.

I believe that is going to be the GM boon for running an Outpost game, so I should be picking that one up. Thanks though. Actually, I have been looking for a tiefling boon to make a home brew PFS legal. If anyone has one of those hanging about, I have a samsaran with your name on it.

I hear you guys about running out of content though. Dedicated players can easily chew up scenarios. Although, 2e creates the same issue as SFS, where you can be playing scenarios/AP's as soon as they are published. New material will be coming out, but will it really be any faster than the current edition is? I'm also not sold on the SFS system just yet. 2e may be amazing.

I’m 100000% ready for 2nd edition. Especially b/c it will make it easier for me to get new people into it. Including my fiancée :3
