So... I have something I want to ask.
Seeing as the Heroes are getting double reward than us, because of our quick writing, will that mean that the week we are sitting in the keep, they are getting a whole level over us?

Victor Ravenport |

Salutations, fellow sub-humans. After a long and tiring period where I have been forced to peer at my mobile to see what's going on, I can finally say that I have returned fully.
I will proceed to slap you around for failing so miserably shortly.

Nick P. L. |
Start with slapping yourself.
Starting a fight when no one but you are prepared, is a pretty sure way to find yourself kissing the ground... Permanently.

Crystal Shalhoume |

I can extend the invitation personally...even act as hostage to ensure good faith (not that you guys would care in the least about honoring it LOL) until their arrival. Just a thought. I don't think they'll come if they just get an anonymous note.

Crystal Shalhoume |

As far as the Origami Swarm (which apparently exists, according to my google search! :p), I'll look on the SRD tonight after work, Sarcon. Suffice to say, if you have the funds and I can make it, I will do so.

![]() |

If you go to hand yourself over, then I am going with you.
I refuse to let you go by yourself.
If they are going to do something stupid like, hold you somewhere else to make sure that we don't just kill'em.... Bloody heroes, have to think and everything.
Why not send a sentinel or make it official or something?
If we proclaim it to the city that the ruffians are invited to negotiate peace, then they will appear scared or unwilling to achieve peace, in the populis' eyes.

Crystal Shalhoume |

My intention won't be to hand myself over, merely that I would be willing to do so to get their concession.
After that last fiasco with the sentinels, I suspect they will be blasting those things if they so much as think one of them 'knows' who they are.
As far as the populace goes, the ruffians were driven off by the might of their new rulers. I propose that we do this privately. If we extend the invitation publicly, it gives the heroes a measure of strength, in the public's eye.

DM-Kal |

Remember that, as per the original rules, characters' homes are off-limits. This excludes the Keep as well as any locations outside the City, of course. Because of this rule, I'd prefer characters be unable to locate each others' dwellings entirely, due to certain characters' propensity for violence (read: everyone). So I will allow messages to be delivered by post, and such messages may arrange for meetings or state whatever else a character may desire.

ok, so i want to get some of this. and some false bottomed cups, with a sliver of lead lining around the secret poison compartment.

![]() |

At any rate, (Short post, running after bus in a moment), Marcello will of course offer himself as bodyguard for Crystal and swear to not be the one lifting his sword first if that is what she wants.
We can even peace-bind the sword, aka making it a full-round action to draw, as long as the other guys sword is the same.

BOO! was hoping it wouldn't be to hard to modify an existing item but yeah i'm gonna look for them
Cup, False-Bottomed
Source Adventurer's Armory
The tiny compartment in the thick bottom of this cup is an excellent place to store a small item or substance. The most insidious are designed with a weighted catch that opens when the cup is tilted back, releasing the hidden substance hidden into the contents of the cup. Spotting the secret compartment in an empty cup is a DC 15 Perception check.

Crystal Shalhoume |

Not really knowing their motivations, Crystal's goal is to enlist and recruit, while learning more about them. However, as Fate said, if they prove incorruptible, Crystal is down with all the murdalizing.

Victor Ravenport |

Urg, I am just sitting here, looking at the swashbuckler class and how bloody amazing it is.
If this group didn't lack an arcane class and if I had not fallen in love with Victor's character, I would have jumped at making an evil duelist.

![]() |

So there is no tactical know-how that can help out on the Sentinels?
I mean, I understand that I can't place them in an ambush due to them being... Well Large and machine and dumber than Sarcon.
I just wanted to know if I could place them better than going "Guard the perimeter! 10 on the walls, 10 on the ground and if anyone but us try to get in, kill them."
We should probably warn the public that the Keep is going to be guarded and that entering without us can/may result in death.

Crystal Shalhoume |

I believe Fate, Sarcon, and Victor have all said or intimated they will be plotting that evening, so I think Marcello needs to decide on what he's doing (after all, I'm not his boss), then you should have a disposition on everyone, DM-Kal.

![]() |

Well, unless more Graveknight stuff happens during the day of negotiating, Marcello will be hanging around Victor. Victor being the only one who doesn't need food, water or sleep, he will be the best to keep watch over Marcello if he falls into a deep slumber/death like state.

Victoria Fate |

Sorry, fell asleep early last night. Long day. I'll look over the costs for the dinner today and write up a budget for it.
Unless someone wants to cook, we will presumably need to hire some people. I figure we could have the Fatebots take care of serving food.

Crystal Shalhoume |

What I thought was going on was this:
Crystal is meeting with hero people on Wednesday, to talk things over and smooth over to get a dinner party arranged for Friday.
I think Fate is talking about preparations for our Friday party, which will not have any impact on our Wednesday dinner.
I believe Sarcon is wanting to bounce at ? Tavern.
As of right now, Crystal will be going alone (unless Sarcon gets a bouncing gig).
Clear as mud?

DM-Kal |

Alright, here's how that's going to go (and for anyone else interested):
Diplomacy to get an interview.
Profession(server/bartender) or Diplomacy for a floor job.
Profession(cook) or Craft(alchemy) to get a kitchen job.
Strength or Intimidate to get a bouncer job.
Profession(servant) or Wisdom to get a room attendant job.
Profession(gambler), Bluff, or Sleight of Hand to get a table job in the casino.
Charisma and Dexterity to get a server job in the casino.

Victoria Fate |

So, by my estimation, it should cost around 30 gold for the raw materials for a reasonably high-class dinner that would feed all of us and the heroes (most of that cost is for the appropriate spices as meat and produce are relatively cheap), and 10 gold per chef. I'm assuming our three undead members will not be eating much, so add another 10 gold to that if they plan on keeping up appearances.
That includes a vegetarian option, since you can expect that kind of thing from good guys (especially when they've got druid types).
I'm thinking 18th century French aristocracy for the style of food, which was actually quite well-balanced. I'm guessing that would equate to current Taldan cuisine.

Crystal Shalhoume |

Sarcon has surprised me before, admittedly, but I don't think he'd go through all that trouble just to bail when the actual dinner is happening.
If he's there, he'll be mainly on the second floor, correct? Assuming he's not just doing whatever he wants? LOL

Honestly, if I could I would love to just stand outside of the Tavern to make sure nothing fishy going on... Unless it is part of the meal.
But now that I read the part about the Silence (albeit a minimum effect of it) I find that my guard standing outside will be of little help.

![]() |

Oh... DM, has my Armor arrived by Wednesday or does it happen at Friday?
If my Armor has appeared, then I could just stand outside of the Tavern... Maybe after I had a small discussion with the innkeeper, and just wait for some kind of signal...

Crystal Shalhoume |

Just gonna point out that a large armored guy outside the tavern is likely going to be a dead giveaway. Maybe not a deal breaker, but certainly going to put them on edge.

![]() |

I can almost guarantee that they have someone else to protect them, possibly capture you, in the Tavern... Who isn't to say that Garroth also applied for Bouncer there and is the reason Sarcon couldn't get the job?
What if their mysterious 5th member is some kind of gambler or Bartender? All we know is that Ransaq isn't with them any more, what if the 5th guy/girl is someone none of us have seen...
If I am to simply stand outside of the Tavern, seeing as you don't want them to jump at a chance to attack you, then it will be simple... Either Crystal didn't know that Marcello is there and is telling the truth or she knows that he has chosen not to follow her wish.
In the end, their sense motive will show that you had nothing to do with the big armored man... Who might even be a new edition of a bouncer for all they know.
It is a lot more subtle than having a small platoon of Sentinels just standing outside of the tavern... :P
But this is only if I have the new armor to "disguise" myself in :P
