Mwahahahaha! Fate foresaw that this vould happen, Herr Viktor. She is too strong-villed to succumb to easy shortcuts to power.

I had an idea for a construct template that I think would be cool.

It would make my DR=Hardness, and some of the physical aspects of these rules. It probably needs more thought but it's a good starting point.

so i was wondering if you saw this Dm, or if you had givin it some thought.

I'm not sure custom templates are a good idea. I want to be flexible with my players, but templates as-is are tricky. Custom templates may be more than I can manage.

What do the rest of you villains think?

Male Human Necromancer 3 | HP 10/43 | AC 20/14/16 | F 4 R +5 W +7 | Init +12 | 30 ft.

There are certain paizo created templates that could be utilized, such as this one:
http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/templates/constructed-cre atures-cr-1

Or if you would care to be a non-magical construct, then there is the clockwork template:
http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/templates/clockwork-creat ure-template-cr-1-tohc

I also believe there is classes that could be taken instead, seeing as our sadistic GM insists on STEALING MY SPELLCASTING LEVELS, so the effect would be the same:
Prestige Class: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/3rd-party-prestige-classes/4-winds-fantasy- gaming/tin-man

There is another base class, 3rd party, but I cannot seem to locate it at the moment.
Now, excuse me while I go and weep for my lost 3rd level spells.

Mostly done leveling. Just need to go through and get my skill point distribution figured out.

Did we get any money from that excursion?

As for Sarcon's thing, I'm inclined to agree with the GM that custom templates are probably a bit too much. A slight tweak or two to an existing one, maybe one of the ones Victor linked, would be better.

I third that motion. The heroes are already ticky about the templates as it is.

Male Human Necromancer 3 | HP 10/43 | AC 20/14/16 | F 4 R +5 W +7 | Init +12 | 30 ft.

They are? Why don't they seek out some templates of their own?

Both Crystal and Victoria are rather crossed with me.
I'll be jumping unto the first train out of the country, grow a mustache and change my name to Jesus Hernandez.

Alright Sarcon, let's keep it at established templates. Perhaps you can accomplish what you're after with magic items and/or multiclass dipping as well?

Victor:

The Book:
The vampire, it seems, was keeping a rather interesting artifact. Though it can be used as a simple wizard's spellbook, this tome in particular has something more to it. Each spell page within serves as a page of spell knowledge. The spells it contains are:
desecrate
animate dead
command undead
sculpt corpse
The rest of the pages are either blank, or they include detailed instructions and diagrams for preparing corpses for animation.

Not as far as I can tell, oh well. I'll need to look for some healing items soon then.

Male Human Necromancer 3 | HP 10/43 | AC 20/14/16 | F 4 R +5 W +7 | Init +12 | 30 ft.

That is a rather interesting artifact indeed. It is nearly a shame that I am not a spontaneous caster. Nonetheless, these spells are now mine!
AND MINE ALONE!

Quick side question: How reliable is the post system in this town?

Well, they still use a post. But you could hire a courier.

I seem to recall some manner of rule having to do with familiars and how they leave their masters, if said masters should become undead. I have been scouring the internet for any reference to it, but nothing is coming up. Could I possibly be misremembering it?

I've never read such a thing.

Unfortunately no. You had to leave in a bit of a hurry.

To avoid seeing the game rot away, might I make a proposal? What are people interested in searching for in the wilderness this week?

Also, a friendly reminder.

Campaign Tab wrote:

Weekdays (job):

During the week, you have 3 choices of activities-
1) Day Job: You have a legitimate business that brings in money. You earn the result of your Craft or Profession check each week in gp. As a hero, you can also use Heal to represent a more honorable trade.
2) Crafting: You may spend your time crafting mundane, alchemical, or magical equipment if you have the appropriate craft skill. See the crafting skill for more information. For our purposes, a "full week" is five days (weekends are for questing!).
3) Loitering: You spend your time crawling local taverns or making grand public appearances, generally having your meals paid for. Either way, your lifestyle doesn't really cost anything (but doesn't profit you anything either).
Weekends (questing):
On weekends, you quest. You may choose one of the following-
1) Out of the City: You may quest for a specific artifact or objective (a mind-control device, an altar of great suffering, a wizard that will grant you a wish, whatever) or quest randomly.
Roll a [knowledge local/diplomacy gather information] to find something (item or spell effect value up to [check result] x [50gp] x [level]). Then roll a [survival + knowledge geography] check to track down the location.
2) In the City: You may attempt to infiltrate and occupy the Finders' Keep. Although this may change later, at present I plan to make this a shifting environment resulting in a randomized quest each time (so you can't just "come prepared"). It will probably be 1.5x the CR of a standard quest, so be ready.
3) Up to some good: You may attempt to intercept the villains in their quest. If your tracking check total equal theirs, you arrive at the quest site at the same time. Each 1 by which your check totals differ represents an hour of disparity between your arrivals (so if the other team beats you by a total of 10, you arrive 10 hours after they did). You can try to confront them directly, lay traps for them, steal their treasure, turn the locals against them, etc. The only limit is your imagination (and the game mechanics)!

Fate would like to search for full plate.

I don't think so. I would gather that after the vampire encounter, the heroes will want to increase their power by collecting some more character wealth first, at least for this first adventuring cycle.

Male Human Necromancer 3 | HP 10/43 | AC 20/14/16 | F 4 R +5 W +7 | Init +12 | 30 ft.

Victor uses a moment to flicker through one of his books, as he looks for any rumors or tales of magical armor left by fallen heroes or destroyed scoundrels. He is kinda picky, so he only looks for the finest of full-plates.

You can blame everything on Fate.

I think a 8500 gold magical full-plate more than covers the wounded feelings.

Alright, one full-metal fate suit coming up. I'll get the rolls and stuff up I suppose.

So, I've been thinking about the problem we have been having of "Do we adventure, or do we stay home and defend the keep from heroes?"

I think we need to invest in either some permanent illusions or Simulacrums. Perhaps even both.

That way, we can totally be in two places at once :D

Male Human Necromancer 3 | HP 10/43 | AC 20/14/16 | F 4 R +5 W +7 | Init +12 | 30 ft.

Or sufficient measures of undead guardians.

Not that I have any interest in an army of the undead or anything.

We can do that too, but both from an in-character and a meta perspective, I think that the heroes would be more scared of fighting us than fighting minions.

The best way to defend a keep is to keep the enemy from trying to take it in the first place.

Sarcon, I just want you to know I'm still thinking about robominion upgrade possibilities.

so i went looking through the templates again and found some that might be fun.

Augmented Creature is close to what i was looking for but could still be useful for the robominions.

half-umbral dragon just looks like fun

Chaosborne also just looks really interesting.

Deathleech seems like it would mesh well and is thematic.

Only the half-umbral dragon is a paizo template, however.
