Target: 1=Anarya,2=Avelina,3=Ellena,4=Karas,5=Raine: 1d5 ⇒ 2
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 7
As Karas closes the distance to the interlopers, the human on the big dog or wolf fires a light crossbow at Avelina, which hits her in the side. 7 points damage. I'm assuming Avelina started the battle with Mage Armor up, making her FF AC 15.
Surprise Round
Tauni (casts spell)
Raine (haste, gravity bow)(cast spell)
Karas (haste)(move)
Bodyguard (move)(ranged attack, hits 2 to Avelina)
Wolf (move)
Ellena (haste, divine favor)(casts spell)
Anarya (haste)
Exorius (winged demon)
Scorpion
Avelina (haste, surprised, 2 lethal)
Commander Anarya is up. Still in the surprise round.

HP 136/136 ▪ AC 43 until struck, 44 vs fiends ▪ AC 36, Touch 16, Flat Footed 35, CMD 25 ▪ +3 to all ACs & CMD vs. fiends, +2 AC/Ref from BoFFort +15, Ref +14, Will +16 ▪ Mythic Power: (6/11) ▪ Spells (4/8|6/7|3/7|3/6) ▪ Channel - 7d6 (10/10) DC 28, Sacred Scourge - ½ of 7d6 plus daze (8/10) DC 27 ▪ Init +6, Percep +17, Sense Motive +9
Anarya keeps a life link active with the entire party at all times since she can do it at will (can maintain 10 at once) and it lasts forever. She also would begin the battle with corruption resistance and veil of heaven (+2 sacred bonus to AC/Saves vs. evil outsiders) active, as both last an hour or more. Finally, she would make sure Karas wears the platinum ring linked to her own, allowing her to cast shield other on him if needed.
Anarya winces nearly in time with her friend as a wound appears in the same place on her body, Avelina's injury already closing. Avelina heals 5, Anarya takes 5.
Anarya's eyes flash white as a shimmer passes from her into all those standing near her, imbuing each of them with her blessing as she steps closer to the enemy. Casting bless (+1 morale bonus to attacks/saves vs. fear) on everyone but Karas. Five-foot-step closer to the enemies.

The incubus dismounted from his giant scorpion. As soon as he did, there was a whirl of something that looked like a swirling ink drop falling into hot water. The swirl coalesced into a humanoid form that appeared to be a black and grey armored skeleton with feathered wings. It wielded two swords and stood near the demon. See an enlarged view of the icon to the right of the map.
Temples of virtuous deities might also ink guardians upon the skins of high-level clergy such as healers or prophets who are not skilled in battle magic. Such tattoo guardians often use the iconography of the religion for their forms: a revered healer might be adorned with a fiery phoenix that flares into life if she is threatened, while a cleric especially skilled in brewing libations might bear a different image across his shoulders. Obviously, the same magic could be used by unholy deities to protect their own servants.
The ink used in the construction of a tattoo guardian is amorphous, able to change shape and harden to become as sharp and solid as steel. Should its wearer be threatened, the guardian withdraws its ink from the wearer’s flesh and hardens it into a thin blade, then rises from the wearer’s skin to interpose itself between her and her attackers.
Even though a tattoo guardian can completely separate itself from its wearer, it rarely strays far from her, even in the midst of battle.
The guardian and its wearer share a magical bond; should it fail in its duty, a tattoo guardian typically self-destructs, the once-sentient ink melding with its former master’s blood. In rare cases, the guardian might gain some fragment of its dying master’s sentience and go out into the world instead. Sadly, most of these creatures are driven completely insane by the process, and are unable to pursue goals more complicated than revenge against their masters’ killers.
If the knowledge roll result was 18, the PC can look under one spoiler below, +1 for each 5 above that.
Constructs are immune to death effects, disease, mind-affecting effects (charms, compulsions, phantasms, patterns, and morale effects), necromancy effects, paralysis, poison, sleep, stun, and any effect that requires a Fortitude save (unless the effect also works on objects, or is harmless). Constructs are not subject to nonlethal damage, ability damage, ability drain, fatigue, exhaustion, or energy drain. Constructs are not at risk of death from massive damage.
Whenever the tattoo guardian’s wearer takes damage, half of the damage is transferred to the guardian (as shield other).
Additionally, the tattoo guardian gains a +2 bonus on attack and damage rolls against any creatures that damaged its wearer in the previous round.
Worn Form (Su)
While being worn, a tattoo guardian occupies the same space as its wearer and moves with its wearer.
In this state, the wearer and the tattoo guardian use the higher of the wearer’s and the tattoo guardian’s AC and saving throws, but the tattoo guardian loses access to its fluid form ability.
Fluid Form (Su)
A tattoo guardian does not provoke attacks of opportunity because of movement.
It is immune to critical hits and sneak attacks, and it cannot be knocked prone or grappled.
Hypervigilant (Su)
A tattoo guardian gains a +2 bonus on initiative checks and Reflex saves, and it always acts on the surprise round.
Reminder: 1 knowledge Monster Lore check per round. If you've already made your check for the surprise round, you can make the check for next round as soon as you want, so long as you don't reveal what you've learned before your next turn.

Sting Damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Karas: DC 17Poison Fortitude Save, Non-Raging, Shield Other: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 6 + 1 = 19
Karas: DC 16 Will Save, Non-Raging, Shield Other, Circumstance Bonus: 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 4 - 2 = 12
The scorpion stepped and attacked Karas with the stinger on his tail. The stinger, as long a short sword, punctured Karas' shoulder with lightning speed. He felt the sting of the poison, but he fought off the effects, which only momentarily made him feel weaker. Most of his wounds immediately were healed by his magical connections to Anarya. 7 lethal to Anarya, 1 lethal to Karas.
The giant scorpion has a reach of 10 feet with both its claws and sting.
The bodyguard dismounted from his giant wolf-like creature, which was as tall as the guard, with deep blackish-blue fur and fiery orange eyes. Its coat was caked with blood, and bits of flesh hung from its toothy maw. The strange wolf put his head level with Karas head and tried to stare into his eyes. The orange eyes of the wolf glowed and pulsated, as if in anticipation of a delicious meal, saliva dripping from its open jaws.
Karas: Karas' Will save result was a 12, which is a failure, but he can use his mythic surge ability to add 1d6 to the result if he wants. Also note: I used what I think is his non-raging will save (+4) plus 1 from Shield Other from Anarya (assuming that was cast before battle) minus 2 for reasons that have to do with this particular creatures appetite for Tielfings. If any of that is wrong, let me know. Action pauses until you post whether or not you are using your mythic surge ability.

I added a link in the header for Clebsh GM that takes you to the post where I listed the DCs and knowledge roll type for the different NPC enemies in this round.

Ellena moves 50’ straight ahead Using the Haste magic that she was under. She knew the wolf would get a nip at her as she advanced the final bit, but seeing Kara’s outnumbered spurred her onwards. As she closes the distance, she swings Radiance with all her might at the wolf.
Power Attack with Haste, Demon Smiter Trait and Divine Favor 1d20 + 10 + 1 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 10 + 1 + 4 + 2 = 24

Anarya's shield other lasts six hours, so she would absolutely have it up on her love before the battle.
Shield other applies instantly, splitting the damage evenly (Anarya takes the higher amount if it's an odd number), Life Link only applies at the start of Anarya's turn, healing Karas for 5 hp if and only if he's wounded for at least 5 at that time.
So Karas and Anarya each take 4 from the sting, and Life Link does nothing (and wouldn't even activate until the start of her turn anyway).
Knowledge (Planes): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

Ellena's action during the surprise round was to cast Divine Favor. There are still a lot of other PCs and NPCs to act before Ellena's next turn, so the actions described above still make sense then, she can apply these rolls, but a lot could change before then.

I made a mistake in my last description. The bodyguard already fired a crossbow in the surprise round, so he did not dismount yet.
The wolf's gaze affected Karas and he stopped moving, paralyzed.

Tauni and Raine are up. Karas can only make purely mental actions.

Lol, goodness, DM, my bad. I have no idea how I thought I was up already! Don’t know what I was looking at there.
Raine a'Thiel
"That's a bloody incubus, alright," Raine growled. "Ya know the drill! Cold iron or holy! Don't bother with lightnin' on it-- it can do all sorta other stuff, get into your mind, too, tell ya what to do-- let's see if I can give it something else to think about!"
Raine took a short step forward and unleashed a sudden blur of arrows at the incubus. Between the spell Tauni had spoken to make them all move faster, and the strange gifts that the dream of the Inheritor had seemed to awaken, time itself seemed to slow down for Raine, her fingers nocking and firing with almost superhuman speed.
Attack 1, Manyshot, Deadly Aim, Rapid Shot (mythic), vs evil outsiders, cover, haste: 1d20 + 13 - 2 - 2 + 4 - 4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 13 - 2 - 2 + 4 - 4 + 1 = 11 Heh, figures

Confirm attack 2?: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21
Normal damage (cold iron): 2d6 + 3 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (2, 1) + 3 + 4 + 4 = 14
Additional damage if the 21 confirmed: 4d6 + 6 + 8 + 8 ⇒ (4, 6, 2, 2) + 6 + 8 + 8 = 36
Attack 3 (all the same bonuses and penalties): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
Attack 4 (all the same bonuses and penalties): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
Attack 5 (iterative): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Despite Raine's speed, only one arrow struck, though it struck hard. She grimaced to herself. "We need to get Karas out of there! What's that human doing with them?!"
Kn Local on the human: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17 Only enough for general info.

Raine's one arrow struck the incubus in the chest causing him to cry out in great pain and anger. He broke the shaft of the arrow off, but the cold iron head was still embedded near his heart. 50 damage.

Tauni saw the foes closing around Karas, and her heart sank. With no other allies close to him, she cast a spell to try and slow down their advance, or maybe even take them out of reach of him. With a few words and an elaborate gesture, a deep pit opened up in the ground under the melee.
Casting create pit, DC 16 reflex save to avoid it.
I am trying to target it so that Karas isn't on the dangerous 'edge' zone, but both mounts have part of the pit under them. I tried to put a rectangle on the map where I was targeting.
Clebsch GM
Wolf: reflex: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Scorpion: reflex: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Exorius: reflex: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Damage
Wolf: Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 2) = 5
Scorpion: Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 2) = 11
Bodyguard: Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 2) = 7
Tauni's pit opened suddenly below the attackers and the huge wolf-like creature, its rider, and the scorpion all slid into the pit and crashed at the bottom. The demon, who was at one corner, stepped back without falling in. Wolf takes 5, Scorpion takes 11, Bodyguard takes 7.
Karas remained standing stock-still, apparently unable to move.
The bodyguard acts next but his actions aren't visible to those away from the edge of the pit.
Ellena and Anarya are up.

Raine: Don't forget bless! (Oh, and clarification: Anarya used her wand to cast that spell so it's at CL 2, lasting for 20 rounds.)
"Not today, demon!" Anarya snarled. Her eyes blazed with a pure white light, growing in intensity from before. Anarya strode forward and snapped her fingers. Instantly, Karas felt control return to his body.

Ret-con: Raine's 5th attack would hit. Not only would the bless bonus allow a hit against normal AC, I also forgot that Exorius is technically flat footed at that point in the surprise round. Raine should roll her damage. I don't think it will change anything except the amount of hurt.
I'll post Exorius' action later today. I am working from my iPad right now and don't have all my usual documents for reference. Nice to see the mythic abilities begin to kick in.

Is Exorius still casting his spell after the end of his turn (like a summoning spell), or did it conclude at the end of his turn (like a spontaneous caster's metamagic spell)?

Spellcraft what Exorius is casting?: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 Snort, no
"Don't know what ugly there is magicking up but I think I should stop it," Raine said dourly. "What do you think?"
The question was purely rhetorical, as Raine took a step for a clearer line and once again streaked the sky between her and the caster with arrows.
Attack 1, Manyshot, Deadly Aim, Rapid Shot (mythic), vs evil outsiders, haste, bless: 1d20 + 13 - 2 - 2 + 4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 13 - 2 - 2 + 4 + 1 + 1 = 26

Raine was more satisfied with her shots this time. Even as she reached for new arrows, she said, "As for the fella that looks like a regular person... 's probably just what he is."
Avelina of House Galfrey
|
Avelina did a double take as she realized she was in combat. She rushed forward after her companions, though not too fast, as she did not want to let slip she had been distracted.
"Foolish demonic obscenities! You face the Chosen of Iomedae. Burn in her Radiant Dawn!"
She unleashed a torrent of blinding light on the front line of the enemies.
She's gonna hit everyone except the guy in the top right
Radiant Dawn of the Inheritor Burst of Radiance: 5d4 ⇒ (3, 1, 1, 3, 1) = 9
Blind/Dazzled duration: 1d4 ⇒ 4
DC 19 reflex save downgrades the blind to a dazzle. The damage is only taken by evil creatures, but it is not reduced on a successful save
Clebsch GM
Avelina: be aware that the giant scorpion, the large wolf, and the bodyguard who was riding the wolf are currently at the bottom of a 30' pit. The radius of the spell is 10' and from where Avelina is standing, she does not have line of effect to any in the bottom of the pit. So she can affect either the tattoo guardian (fighting Karas) or the incubus (demon with wings).
Retcon Redux: Raine's second attack from round 1 did still hit, due to the bless, but it was no longer the surprise round, so the Incubus was not flat-footed. Raine would be aware of its AC by this point: 18. The other retcon is that the wound seemed to partly heal almost instantly, similar to the way Karas' wound healed after the scorpion sting. When the winged swirly thing materialized, it seemed to be wounded already, 'bleeding' what looked like ink.
Is Exorius still casting his spell after the end of his turn (like a summoning spell), or did it conclude at the end of his turn (like a spontaneous caster's metamagic spell)?
The demon is still casting, as a spell that requires a full round to cast, as the other PCs get to act.
Avelina needs to respond to the note above and Tauni is up after that. I will describe results of Raine's attacks after Tauni acts.
Tauni "Rabbit" Desba
Swift as the wind under the speed of her spell, Tauni closed the distance to the melee. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed the incubus being to cast. "He's trying to summon help. Stop him if you can!" To that end, she drew forth a wand and pointed it at the incubus to try and disrupt his casting.
Move to position shown on map, drawing a wand as she goes. Using it to cast Ice Spears in the square of the incubus. Damage 2d6 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5 piercing and 2d6 ⇒ (3, 5) = 8 cold; DC 14 reflex save for half damage. Plus a trip attempt 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 3 + 1 = 22.
When she is closer, she looks at the guardian and says "It is like a golem, but made out of ink." Construct traits.

Tattoo Guardian: DC 19 Reflex: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

Exorius: DC 14 Reflex: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Exorius: DC 18 Concentration: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14
The magical burst of light caught the tattoo guardian by surprise and it was blinded. The light washed over the demon without effect, however. Failed the caster level check to overcome SR.
Tauni sent a spear of ice lancing up from the ground beneath the demon. He was unable to dodge the attack. Although the cold did not affect it, the physical damage 8 points was enough to disrupt his concentration. Again, some of the damage healed and appeared to transfer to the tattoo construct. Exorius heals 4, guardian damaged 4.
Then came the Raine of arrows. The first arrow nearly takes the demon out but the damage healed by his connection to his guardian saves him. The second arrow caused him to drop, and the one after that killed him.
She can hold off firing her last two shots, as there is nothing visible to attack.

"Good job, Raine! I've never seen arrows fly so fast or so true." Anarya beamed at the archer. "Keep your focus, everyone, and feel the blessings of the Inheritor upon us!"
Anarya's halo pulsed out across the gathered heroes, leaving each one with the faintest shimmer of a halo upon their own heads. One by one, they felt their hearts soar with inspiration, knowing they were destined to do great things.
Casting moment of greatness, including the entire party. Everyone can double any morale bonus on any one roll one time in the next six minutes. Karas, that includes the bonuses to strength you're getting from your bloodrage - best to blow it on a big damage roll! Everyone else, probably that bless bonus.
The halo's pulse ripples back in on itself, healing each of them as it passes.
Spending two uses of Channel Energy to channel as a move action via the Quick Channel feat.

I'm going to end the melee. The remaining enemies are effectively trapped in the pit, unable to get two successful climb results to make it out. You can probably find clever ways to cause damage to them while they are in the pit and take them out. Good job.
The trapped scorpion, abyssal wolf, and the human warrior cannot escape the magical pit and are easily dispatched with alchemists fire or other magical attacks.
Anarya can make the attack roll for the army, which is fighting the tiefling army in melee. Then I'll roll the enemy attack and describe the results.

GM, since I'm adding a +4 morale bonus to the roll below, can I invoke moment of greatness to double it?
If so, the roll below gets an additional +4.
Army Attack: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (20) + 16 = 36 And while I doubt we need it with a natural-freaking-twenty, the Knights get +3 to the damage they deal as a result of the strategy Anarya has selected.

Tiefling Army: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
The tieflings fight well, but when they go to use their darkness spells, the paladins were ready and foiled enough of them that they got no advantage from them. The paladins decimate the tieflings completely.
food and water recovered from battlefield: 1d6 ⇒ 6 units. Also recovered, 2 units of Goods.
Anarya may make a Will roll DC 15 to have the army gain another tactic and another to see if Anarya learns a new boon.
Anarya: Perception, opposed: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Avelina: Perception: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (11) - 4 = 7
Ellena: Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (9) - 1 = 8
Karas: Perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (17) + 14 = 31
Raine: Perception: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (18) + 18 = 36
Tauni: Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24
Aron: Bluff: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29
Karas: Perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (7) + 14 = 21
Raine: Perception: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (17) + 18 = 35
Tauni: Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
After the battle, as the battlefield is being searched for food, water, and supplies, Karas, Raine, and Tauni notice that Aron seems distracted and subdued.
Raine a'Thiel
Raine scavenges for re-usable arrows, and sidles up to Aron. "What's with the long face?" she asks bluntly. "That was a quick, clean victory. Just how I like them. Not enough glory here for you?"
Clebsch GM
Raine: Sense Motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Aron gave Raine a wary look and forced a smile. "I guess it's all the setbacks we just were dealt. I mean, the crusade was never really successful except at slowing the inflow of demons. Now, it seems they could really win without the wardstones to hold them back."
Raine a'Thiel
Raine studied Aron briefly, then clapped him on the shoulder. "Yeah, but now the tides are turning, eh? We're counter-attacking. Don't write the Crusade off just yet, you'll see. In the meantime, try and keep up that smile. Morale, you know."
With that brusque encouragement, of sorts, Raine made her way back to the others of their small, elite force. She cleared her throat.
"Ey, that Aron chap? Something's eating at him. He fed me a line about general sort of regret over the Crusades never doing much good, but I don't think that's what's actually wigglin' around in his soul. I'm.... not too good diggin' for honesty, you know? Least not the deep... soul-and-heart kind of stuff. Maybe someone who's got a more patient tongue wants to have a chat with him? Might be something important."
WOTR NPC Sosiel Vaenic
"Shelyn's Glaive!" Sosiel lets slip when Raine shares her insights about Aron. "I should have seen this coming."
He studies Aron from a distance, but says no more unless someone tries to draw him out. It is known that Aron and Sosiel are lovers and that they have been through good and bad times recently.
