Round 5
Hamar grins and heads to the Mammoth pen, "If I can get that open, it may cause chaos in these camps..."
Hamar is going to head to the Mammoth Pens and try and let it open, that should cause some chaos and delay in what appears to be a more organized Giant response than the Silver Rose would like right now.
| Dungeon Monkey |
Hamar starts to run towards the mammoth pen. The snow around the camp is beaten to a firm footing from many giant feet normal movement rates.
Roll me a stealth
The pen is a roug-hewn affair: large trees with their branches lopped off driven into the ground vertically support three horizontal trunks, all lashed together with coarse rope. A crude gate is barred with a simple crossbar that is a large trunk, but has no lock on it
DC 20 STR Check to lift it out of the crosspieces
Inside the pen there is some agitation, with six mammoths trumpeting in fear. The loud crack of thunder nearby makes them even more upset. One younger shaggy red-haired male rears and paws the air, his large ivory tusks gleaming in the dawnlight

Hamar eases the tree trunk off its crosspieces, muscles straining with the weight. He has the presence of mind to drop it as lightly as possible to the side of the gate. As he completes the task he hears a voice muttering in Giantish. The voice is nearing his position

Justin, still hanging on for his life, grits his teeth in frustration. And pain. His enhanced armor spell absorbed a lot of the impact, but that rock still felt like he'd been playing catch with a catapult. His ears are ringing, and his mind races. As usual, the best laid plans of the Silver Rose team seem to be falling apart around their ears.
Fortunately, they've had a lot of practice at this exact situation,...
"Grrrrr! Rassinfrassin, Blayze! Hop off! You and Sophi fill those giants full of holes! I want them to look like swiss cheese! Merle! Cast a Fly spell on Alessia! Alessia, help Karrin! You all catch up quick as you can. The rest of us will get to the camp and keep them busy til you get there! And WHERE did Hamar get off too?!?"
Memnon, zipping around like a psychotic amethyst hummingbird, swoops in to face Justin. The Mimir's eye sockets are practically glowing in delight. Apparently with all that the Mimir has seen, a flying dino and assorted would-be adventurers versus flying giants still seems to count as 'exciting'.
"Now what are you doing you Moronic Magus!? Don't you know the FIRST thing about strategy? You NEVER split the party!!" Memnon fusses at Justin while swinging around his head like an oversized Ioun Stone. He manages to sound concerned at least.
Justin snorts. "What we do best buddy. Taking whatever Chaos throws at us and making it ours. You know the old saying? 'When life hands you lemons, You squeeze the lemons back in Life's eye and say IS THAT ALL YOU GOT?!?' Something like that anyway,..."
Justin re aims his wand at the giant near Sophie, snarls "SHAZAM!" and sends another lightning bolt arcing through the air with a crack before kicking the dino and urging it forward with a "YEE-HAW!"

Round 6
Hamar pulls the pen open! No time for subtlety now, the Mammoths must get free before the Giant can corral them or get the beam back on their , no pun intended, Giant pen.
He then steps to the side as to not be trampled by the mighty beasts who are, well, even larger than he expected them to be!
| Dungeon Monkey |
Ah yes, the stampede ...
The riled mammoths see the gate swing open, and start heading to it. They are led by a massive bull mammoth, the obvious leader of this particular group. Hamar can see his tusks are capped in steel with spikes. he leads his herd through the gate, trumpeting as he thunders through. Hamar can feel the ground tremble under his feet as the enormous shaggy elephants rush by. There's a loud oath then a voice cries out

Hamar is amazed as the bull mammoth turns and chivies the nervous mammoths into a more organized pack and begins to lead them down to the camp. He could have sworn they were in full stampede mode as they came through the gate. He sees a giant, dressed in heavy furs and hide carrying a large axe in one hand and some sort of bauble in the other. The giant holds the bauble out to the bull elephant.

"That the best you got?" She says, going all cheesy 1980s martial arts film, "Now let me show you something"
Karrin channels shocking grasp through her axe:
1st attack: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (18) + 18 = 36
damage: 2d8 + 12 + 1d6 + 2d6 ⇒ (3, 3) + 12 + (6) + (6, 4) = 34
6 cold, 10 holy
shocking grasp: 5d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 5, 1, 4) = 17
17 electrical
2nd attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21
2d8 + 12 + 1d6 + 2d6 ⇒ (4, 3) + 12 + (3) + (5, 4) = 31
3 cold, 10 holy
bonus haste attack: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (18) + 18 = 36
2d8 + 12 + 1d6 + 2d6 ⇒ (4, 1) + 12 + (3) + (2, 5) = 27
3 cold, 7 holy
Potentially 109 damage

While one attack did miss, the other two were plenty to neutralize that giant. So, yes, disregard the attacks.
As the flying giant winds up his attacks, Karrin swings Ferissirion in a blur and cleaves the giant's right arm clean off. The attack sizzles with crackling energy, and the giant screams as lightning arcs arcoss his body. He falls to the snow below, a smoking corpse

Thank you,
"Forward Anky! Run 'em Over!" Justin encourages his large friend onward.
As the Dino moves closer to the giants, Justin levels his wand at the same one that Merle just turned into a magical pincushion.
"SHAZAM!"
Lightning bolt Dmg: (Standard Wand) 6d6
Need that acrobatics/ride check Justin ..
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
The bolt arcs through a snowbank, diluting its power somewhat
