Kyrus Leafstrider |

Kyrus moves out of cover of the trees and calmly lifts his bow again, aiming at the back of the men who are fleeing the battle. He judges the distance, then lowers his bow again. Even if he could make a good shot at this distance, he can't shoot a man in the back in good conscience. He turns and fires at the last guard brave enough to stand and fight and fires at him.
Attack (Melee): 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (10) + 5 - 4 = 11
Can I just say how nice it's going to be when we level up and I can get Precise Shot?

Amelleanne |

I could have sworn I had posted on here earlier, must have forgotten to hit submit or something.
Amelleanne glances over at the fleeing soldiers, but see's little point in pursuit. They were after all only following orders.
"Drop your weapon, you have no chance against all of us, and we have questions for you to answer. There is no need for your pointless death here."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29 -2 if you think it falls under Intimidation instead

Leon Primrose |

Leon moves in spear and shield I would listen to her, the lot of you have been unable to kill a single one of us, fleeing is pointless. tracking you by both scent and track would be a simple feat. We only want what we came for nothing more, there doesn't need to be anymore death . Even if you try and run Lorelei here will catch up, and the rest of us can keep pace. There's little point Leon explains in his usual logical manner
Assist diplo: 1d20 ⇒ 20

GM &rew |

The lone guard drops his weapon and falls to his knees, holding his hands above his head and muttering, "Just kill me. It will be better than the fate I would face under the baron's justice."
Your intense questions yield no further information that what you already deduced...the baron did take the lady Bronwyn and headed through the Laughing Hollow. The guards were left to stop any potential forces from following the baron, or die trying. They are headed back to baron Agwain's estates, where he plans to keep the lady as his mistress.
Nice rolls on diplomacy! The adventure calls for the men to fight to the death - you've changed things and found a better alternative =)

Kyrus Leafstrider |

"So there's nothing to do other than continue after the baron then." He sighs and shakes his head. "Fine. I suppose that we should keep moving and try to catch up with him before he gets too far." He looks at the man for a moment. "You can't go back to the baron without suffering his punishment. I'd suggest you leave the area entirely and find a job elsewhere. You're a capable warrior, and there's always a need for guards for caravans or one of the other villages or even a city somewhere further away."

Úlfheðinn Sigmundarson |

Úlf looks like he has been through the ringer more than once. He is bleeding heavily from multiple wounds, and is leaning heavily on his greataxe to help him stand now that the fighting over.
"Úlf has taken more than flesh wound...is kind of miraculous that I am still conscious..." he says.
Translation: Úlf is at 1 HP.

Leon Primrose |

I can only do this twice, Ulf goes first, we see how it goes after that. Either way i can give proper medical treatment to you and Kyrus after. Leon mutter's under his breathe lay's his hand on Ulf's shoulder. His hand glowing wit ha brief green light That should get him back on his feet Leon looks over to AMell and Kyrus, pulling out medical kit let's get those wounds patched up, don't want anything becoming infected
Clw Ulf: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
CLW part 2: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Heal check: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21

GM &rew |

Since it is already into the night, and the group is fairly beat up, are you making camp to get some rest? With a full night's rest (8 hours of sleep or more), you recover 1 hit point per character level. Leon's successful Heal check will give 2 more (see his Discussion note). Will assume you rest...give me a watch rotation please or let me know if you do something different.

Tyler Crane |

Since Leon is busy healing Tyler will get a camp set up somewhere close by but out of sight. No fire is case there are other guards out looking for anyone pursuit.
"I'll take the first two watches." Tyler volunteers. ""Let the wounded have a full night of rest to heal up."

Kyrus Leafstrider |

"I appreciate the concern. Just make sure to wake me if any of them come back with more reinforcements." Kyrus doesn't bother to set up his tent and simply unrolls a blanket and lays down to try to sleep without aggravating his shoulder.

GM &rew |

Nixie target: 1d6 ⇒ 1
The rest of the night passes without incident. By first light , the party is ready to set off to continue their pursuit of Baron Agwain and Lady Bronwyn. About midmorning, you come out of the forest into a large clearing that contains a lake. The trail you are following parallels the edge of the lake, about 20 feet away. The trail continues along the lake for about 300 yards before winding back into the forest. As you make your way along the trail, a group of nixies appears in the center of the lake about 100 feet from the shore. You spot one human with the nixies who stares blankly at you. The human appears to be in the baron's livery. The green-skinned fey have webbed hands and feet, with hair the color of seaweed and decorated with shells.
As you watch they start to sing a strange, enchanting song...

Amelleanne |

Fort: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Amealleanne's eyes glaze over for a moment as she gazes over towards the group. She shakes her head to clear it and breathes deeply. We need to get away from that song - ride! she spurs her horse ahead to try and increase the distance.

Amelleanne |

I realize that for some reason I rolled Fort, not Will, but it was still a pass, though only 1.
"I don't know anything about tales and legends, but I can't tell you how much I suddenly want to go and live with them in the lake."
Amelleanne stars staring straight ahead, resisting the temptation to look back in case she loses her will to resist the Nixies call.

GM &rew |

Amelleanne's years of mental focus training under her father's tutelage pays off, and her quick actions save the others from becoming a target of the nixies' song.
After another hour and a half on the trail, you emerge from a dense stretch of forest into an 80 foot wide glade and come upon a grisly scene. On the far east side of the glade three ghouls are chewing on the remains of a man and a horse. On the opposite side of the clearing is a rusty door opening out from a rock face, as if it were a door to a hole in the ground. The path drives straight through the middle. The ghouls seem completely absorbed in their meal...

Tyler Crane |

"Let me go first." Tyler whispers, preparing his bomb.
Crypt breaker bombs are designed to kill Undead. Can Tyler get all three ghouls one bombs radius?
Tyler Init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Tyler will quietly dismount and wait for the rest of the party to ready themselves.

Tyler Crane |

Don't want to hold things up so I'll roll.
Tyler aims carefully. Bomb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
No direct hit, so anyone hit by the splash takes 4 damage. Reflex save DC14 for half.
With Splash weapon mastery Tyler can adjust the miss roll + or - 1. So whatever works better.
Really getting sick of this RNG, haven't rolled over 5 on an attack today, Damage has been constantly 1's or 2's.

Kyrus Leafstrider |

Kyrus drops down from his horse and draws his bow. He takes aim at the nearest ghoul and lets loose with an arrow before the undead creatures realize they're under attack.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 3

Calmly drawing back another arrow, Kyrus adds more to the barrage, aiming to take down the ghouls before they can get in close and threaten the group.

Brynderie:
Amelleane: Her second shot scores a solid hit on the far left ghoul, sending it back to the great beyond!
Kyrus: Hits the last remaining undead creature!
Ghoul: Last one currently at -7 hp. Let's see what Bryn and Ulf can do...

Úlfheðinn Sigmundarson |

Úlf steps up to the final ghoul, bringing his axe to bear on it with the intent of sending it to the after-afterlife with the others!
Greataxe Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Greataxe Damage: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Whoo! Max Damage!

GM &rew |

Combat over! Guess ya'll need tougher opponents... <insert evil laugh>
The ghouls were feasting on one of the barons men. He is wearing scale armor, and in his belt pouch is 13 gp and 7 sp. He was carrying a short bow, a lance, and a broad sword.
Inside the open door on the other side of the glade is a short tunnel with a single room branching off of it. The end of the tunnel collapsed centuries ago; it obviously was once a much longer tunnel. In the room are the bones of three dwarves and the remnants of their armor and weapons. Nothing is usable except a small vial containing a slightly effervescent liquid in the tattered pouch of one of the dwarven skeletons.

Kyrus Leafstrider |

"Well, at least there were only two of them," Kyrus says, stow his bow away again. He absently looks over the man's body. "He may have served an unpleasant man, but no one deserves to die to unholy creatures like those." He bows his head and murmurs a soft prayer to Erastil and Pharasma to speed his soul safely to it's destination. "Well, I suggest we grab anything useful and get riding. The longer we wait here, the further ahead the baron gets."
