About Valia

Objective:
Skilled battlefield terror who will combine (Cavalier) brains and (Fighter) brawn on the battlefield to overcome the Magocrazies and their misrule

Background:
Contrary to common perception, the elves of Kyonin do train some of their young to be competent melee combatants. Tradition is very clear – the homeland will be guarded by not just Bow, but Blades as well. Often it takes some time for the elven body to adapt, but with conditioning exercises throughout his childhood, Valia’s body grew and changed.

Aratheus Valia’Ianaia is the only son of two elven envoys who had at long last returned to Kyonin to raise their child. The forests were idyllic, and their son grew up among his kind, climbing trees and eagerly devouring his lessons. When the family was ready to depart, they took their son with them to foreign cities, educating him to one day fill their roles as guides to the impatient and short-lived neighboring nations.

This time, he has traveled ahead of them. Across the riverlands, he arrived in Numeria. Valia’s been here for five years now, and he’s not happy with the shape of things. About a year ago, the rest of the family arrived to set up residence in Brevoy. He is often in correspondence with them.

Calistrian, soldier, envoy, and would-be liberator, “Valia” is all of these things. He has learned the balance of pain and pleasure, the value of death and liberty.


Personality:
Easygoing but quiet, sensual, and creative. He thinks deeply upon everyday situations. As a guardian of the impatient young, he has fought many robotic automatons powered or eventually sourced back to the Technic League. In his eyes, these robots and the League are both dire threats to liberty and natural life.

Description:
Against type, this red-headed elf has a reserved manner about him. When he walks, it is like a panther or a predator, long thin elven arms loose and ready to find his sword at a moment's notice. He is just above average human height and often ties his red hair back behind his narrow face in a ponytail.

Warrior of Old As a child, you put in long hours in combat drills, and though time has made this training a dim memory, you still have a knack for quickly responding to trouble. You gain a +2 trait bonus on Initiative checks.
Robot Slayer The strange steel automatons that plague the wilds of Numeria are a blight upon the world! You gain a +1 trait bonus on attack rolls against robots and a +1 dodge bonus to AC against attacks made by robots.
SPECIAL ABILITIES
Bonus Feats At 1st level, and at every even level thereafter, a fighter gains a bonus feat in addition to those gained from normal advancement (meaning that the fighter gains a feat at every level). These bonus feats must be selected from those listed as combat feats, sometimes also called "fighter bonus feats." Upon reaching 4th level, and every four levels thereafter (8th, 12th, and so on), a fighter can choose to learn a new bonus feat in place of a bonus feat he has already learned. In effect, the fighter loses the bonus feat in exchange for the new one. The old feat cannot be one that was used as a prerequisite for another feat, prestige class, or other ability. A fighter can only change one feat at any given level and must choose whether or not to swap the feat at the time he gains a new bonus feat for the level.
Bravery (Ex) He gains a +1 bonus to Will saves against fear effects.
Elven Immunities (Ex) Elves are immune to magic sleep effects and get a +2 racial saving throw bonus against enchantment spells and effects.
Envoy (Ex) Elves often have trouble relating to neighbors of other races, especially those with much shorter lifespans. As a result, some are trained in minor magics that are particularly useful when dealing with non-elves. Elves with this racial trait and an Intelligence score of 11 or higher gain the following spell-like abilities once per day: comprehend languages, detect magic, detect poison, and read magic. The caster level for these effects is equal to the elf 's level.
Low-Light Vision (Ex) You can see x2 as far as humans in low illumination. Characters with low-light vision have eyes that are so sensitive to light that they can see twice as far as normal in dim light. Low-Light Vision is color vision. A spellcaster with low-light vision can read a scroll as long as even the tiniest candle flame is next to her as a source of light. Characters with low-light vision can see outdoors on a moonlit night as well as they can during the day.
Urbanite (Ex) Elves who live in cities for more than a century can grow to know the ebb and flow of social situations just as their forest-dwelling cousins know the rules of the wild. Elves with this racial trait gain a +2 racial bonus on Diplomacy checks made to gather information and Sense Motive checks made to get a hunch about a social situation.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency A fighter is proficient with all simple and martial weapons and with all armor (heavy, medium, and light) and shields (including tower shields).
Weapon Familiarity (Ex) Elves are proficient with longbows (including composite longbows), longswords, rapiers, and shortbows (including composite shortbows), and treat any weapon with the word "elven" in its name as a martial weapon.
