My advice is to split it as you like and gear up a little more. Looking over the adventure -- you're on a desert island, not a lot of opportunites to get new gear, and some of what you find won't be tailored to you. Equipment might be tough.

Lecian, particularly, might want to think about his next level of spells. If we do it now, we can retcon his looting of spell components at the magic shop to include a couple nice things for spells he's working on mastering now, but doesn't have down yet. The spellbooks are mainly an in-game rationalization of spell research for him, but they may be trouble too.

Male Aasimar (Plumekith) Occultist (Psychodermist/Reliquarian) (AC 25/17/20; HP 52/52; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +8; Init +8, Perception +17, CMD 22)

Well, as far as spells are concerned, I imagine that Lecian should be sitting fairly pretty - he did just get three new spellbooks, after all :-)

As far as tracking loot is concerned, I have set-up a Google docs Spreadsheet, the link for which is 'spoilered' on Tyrrol's page.

Male Aasimar (Plumekith) Occultist (Psychodermist/Reliquarian) (AC 25/17/20; HP 52/52; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +8; Init +8, Perception +17, CMD 22)

What I am most interested in doing is paying the 2000gp necessary to upgrade Tyrrol's Flail to +1. Assuming that I am allowed to so, does anyone want to purchase a Wand of Magic Weapon with 5 charges? I will sell it for 50gp, which is 25gp less than it would cost on the open market ;-)

Also, how do people feel about trying to 'pawn' the ring?

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Splitting and gearing up sounds like a good idea.

Pawning the ring is cool with me.

You would pawn my Ring of Awesomeness (TM)!!!"

OK.

Regarding spells, just saying I wouldn't want Lecian to be unprepared should he learn fireball in a level or too and realize that he's got no components. The adventure might turn into the great bat guano and sulphur search.

Male Aasimar (Plumekith) Occultist (Psychodermist/Reliquarian) (AC 25/17/20; HP 52/52; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +8; Init +8, Perception +17, CMD 22)

Well, we are unable to work-out exactly what it does, other than that it *might* be slightly faulty... For all we know, it could have some sort of tracking-magic involved in it...

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Is the 1920gp, that Tyrrol worked out, going to be the "official" split? Just want to be sure.

Wow. That's pretty paranoid. Maybe in a campaign I'd try something like that. The ring will bring only 2400 gp. The buyer would like to know better what it does too, but he's willing to take a chance.

Male Aasimar (Plumekith) Occultist (Psychodermist/Reliquarian) (AC 25/17/20; HP 52/52; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +8; Init +8, Perception +17, CMD 22)

Well, Tyrrol *does* follow the teachings of the Lord of End Times - he has a tendency to expect the worst, especially when something is surrounded by uncertainty ;-)

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

You can pull in another 2400 for the ring. The buyer "is taking a gamble."

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

So that would be 2320g for everyone, correct?

Male Aasimar (Plumekith) Occultist (Psychodermist/Reliquarian) (AC 25/17/20; HP 52/52; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +8; Init +8, Perception +17, CMD 22)

No, it is 2400 for everyone; we each gain an extra 480gp...

(I have been dividing by 5, rather than 6, because we appear to have lost our Druid... If we still include Wilam in the split, then we each gain a total of 2000gp.)

Male Human Diviner Wizard 6

Lecian won't be able to use Animate Dead for several levels, so I think that should be sold along with all of the onyx.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Oh, I see. I was thinking it was by six. Wow, didn't realize we lost Wilam.

So do we wait to see if he's around or are we gonna go with the divide by 5 bit?

It'll be more now, since we are selling the scroll and the onyx now.

Male Aasimar (Plumekith) Occultist (Psychodermist/Reliquarian) (AC 25/17/20; HP 52/52; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +8; Init +8, Perception +17, CMD 22)

@Lecian: Animate Dead is 3rd level, just like Halt Undead and Heroism; are you sure you don't want to keep it, since you are keeping the others...?

@Javell: The last time Wilam posted was three weeks ago...

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Daaang! Okay, looks like it's gonna be by 5 then. :P

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

SD DM: When you say "purchases", what are we talking about here exactly?

Some dude

'Robbin' people in Riddleport' didn't really have druid written all over it, so he might have felt like a square peg.

Shame he didn't hold out, as the island sounds (mostly) uninhabited and an ideal place for a wilderness focused character to strut his stuff.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Wilam should stay in the split. He helped earn it. We'll give him another day or two, then I'll write him out if he doesn't show up.

Has Paizo changed the spell from 4th-level to 3rd-level?

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Muleback Cords
Aura faint transmutation; CL 3rd
Slot shoulders; Price 1,000 gp; Weight 1/4 lb.

Description
These thick leather cords wrap around the wearer’s biceps and shoulders; when worn, they make the muscles appear larger than normal. The wearer treats his Strength score as 8 higher than normal when determining his carrying capacity (see Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook page 171). This bonus does not apply to combat, breaking items, or any other Strengthrelated rolls except the amount of equipment or material the wearer can carry.

Construction
Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, bull’s strength; Cost 500 gp

This is out of the APG. Is this item possible?

Probably gonna use the rest(or most, depending on whether or not this item is buyable) to buy heal potions and arrows. Don't really know what else to use it for.

I'm good for suggestions, though! :)

@Lecian: Animate Dead is a 3rd level cleric; 4th level wizard/sorcerer spell. (In case you don't already know.)

Male Human Diviner Wizard 6

That's what I thought. Lecian's a wizard and won't be able to use the scroll until 7th level, so that should be sold along with all of the onyx.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

I never run wizards, so, I was wondering, is it not possible to cast a spell from a scroll even if you're not high enough level to actually cast it?

OK.

Yes, but there is a risk of failure or worse.

Male Human Diviner Wizard 6

I was not aware scrolls could be used to cast spells that were otherwise too high a level to cast.

On further thought, I'd still rather sell it and the gems. I think that ends up an extra 600 gold to split among the party.

Male Aasimar (Plumekith) Occultist (Psychodermist/Reliquarian) (AC 25/17/20; HP 52/52; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +8; Init +8, Perception +17, CMD 22)

Correct, which means that we each gain a total of 2100gp.

Tyrrol's purchases:

(Current cash: 2192gp)

Add +1 to MW Consecrated Heavy Flail: (+2000gp)
Ioun Torch (75gp)
MW Backpack (50gp)
Potion of CLW (50gp)
Two weeks worth of trail rations (7gp)

(Expenditure: 2182gp)

(Cash remaining: 10gp)

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

2135gp total

Muleback Cords: 1000g
Potion of CLW x8: 400g
Potion of CMW x2: 600g
Healer's kit: 50g
Arrows x60: 3g
Rations x10: 5g

2058g spent

77g left

(AC 19, hp 33 of 37) Human Cleric (Urgathoa) 6

2624-ish gp.

.
If magic items are on the list, Mordecai will go for;

+1 armor bonus to his mithril shirt. [1000 gp]
+1 armor bonus to his darkwood shield. [1000 gp]

If it wasn't for the 1500 gp material component extra cost, I'd try to get a scroll of limited wish for 2275 gp to get a chance to reroll those last two 1 hp rolls for HD...

Male Human Diviner Wizard 6

2262.8 gp
-----
amulet of natural armor +1, 2000 gp
potion of cure light wounds, 50 gp
2 potions of shield of faith, 100 gp
2 oils of shillelagh, 100 gp
6 trail rations, 3 gp
20 bolts, 2 gp
-----
7.8 gp left over

The Exchange

Male Halfing Barbarian 4

Kuva is definitely purchasing a +1 enhancement to his falchion. 2000 down, 135 gp left. I'll do some research and decision-making later.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Glad to see you stocking up on disposable cures. Now I won't feel bad about wasting Mordecai. MWAHAHHAHA!

Seriously. Work yesterday and today.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

I have a general question, maybe you guys can answer it for me.

Is it possible to create Inflict Light Wounds potions?

I ask this, because, I'm playing this Dhampir paladin in another thread. I've never heard(or even gave it any thought)of any reason for such an item to be made. I don't know of any creatures that would actually need such an item. At least not one that lives and breathes. (And undead don't "drink" so that's why I'm curious.)

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

I don't see why it couldn't be done. I'll bet Set can think of some good uses for one.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

lol!

Yeah, Set could jump all over an item like this, couldn't he. :)

Dark Archive

Some dude

Mordecai has the ability to temporarily give someone the ability to heal from negative energy as well, so he'd be able to use potions of inflict light wounds as curing potions, a few times a day. :)

Perish the thought of using such a thing to hurt a living person, 'though.

Smothering them with a pillow is much cheaper.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

That's pretty cool. How are you able to manage that? Is it one of those subdomain type things?

Smothing someone with a pillow? Naw, I think I learned that watching Dynasty...

Oh, the other thing!

Quote:
Death (sub-domain Undead, Death's Kiss, cause a creature to count as undead for negative / positive energy interactions for rounds equal to 1/2 cleric level, 5/day

Grand Lodge

I think there is a bard spell in the APG that allows you go give a person a 'gift' and the target will then immediately use it. I don't have the spell in front of me to check to see whether it would work, but something to look at.

"Hey, drink this."
"Yeah, ok!"

*croak*

Man, I just knew you were gonna go there! (That is pretty funny, though!)

Curious though, was it Dynasty? Or Knot's Landing? Be honest now! :)

Never ask "What's the worst that could happen?" in an adventure. The DM usually feels compelled to demonstrate. Now if you all get swallowed by a kraken, everyone will blame Lothan. ;)

He was safe-- this time. I fooled around long enough and just want to get them on the island so we can start the adventure proper.

For the record, I am rather enjoying the interactions between dour, fatalistic Tyrrol and Lothan :-)

I like this whole party. Tyrrol and Mordecai frequently make me laugh.

I'll second that! I'm having a pretty good time between those two myself! :)

I'll echo Jelloarm as well, this is a good party.

I like the names Kuva has for the races, "Rock-digger", "Tall-folk". I(meaning me) got a kick out of the dwarf name. That's why I threw it in there for Lothan. (There was a barbarian halfling in our RL group that called them "Twice-talls".) :P
