Commander Revik is seen jumping down from his Interceptor, removing and handing pieces of his suit to waiting technicians while walking hurredly towards the briefing room. Without pausing, he relays some orders to one of the men:
"Crewman, have the quartermaster prepare our gear and have it delivered to the flight briefing room."
"Right away sir." The crewman runs off.

Helrun Thek |

"Not a bad ship, really just needs a bit of upgrading."
Helrun remembers his youth spent on a skateboard, and how yes a skateboard beats walking or running, especially downhill when being chased....
He makes a note to sit by one of the tech specialists in the meeting to discuss it.

Kira Wyndaru |

Kira returns back to the Armiger. She felt about Calahan, but that's the way battles go. She lost quite a few comrades over the years, and learned to shrug them off with relative ease.
Kira stowed away the helmet of her marine armour, along with the rest of her gear, and proceeded to the briefing room. Somehow, the tone of voice of Commander Revik made Kira a little concerned. "Well, guess we'll find out if I'm right or not."

"Ok people, I'll make this short, as we don't have a lot of time. I'm sorry about Lt. Callahan. It would appear that there was some kind of malfunction in his engines.
Now however, is not the time for mourning, but time for some payback. If you noticed on the way in, the hangar is full of troops loading up. This is because we're going to be taking that Asteroid by force.
The Armiger doesn't have the firepower to destroy it on her own, and it's too well entrenched with point defense systems to bomb it properly."
"Our ground forces will be moving in on this crater here;" The commander motions with a laser toward a holo-map of the asteroid. An enormous crater raises off of the surface, flat land inside, and nearby to some fabricated structures."to engage the pirate defenses. Night squadron will be landing here:" The hologram turns 10 degrees to the right, off toward another installation. "Our objective will be to enter this complex to the southeast, make our way to the reactor core, and disable or destroy it with charges. Afterward, we're to call in an evac shuttle and return to the Armiger. Any questions?"

A group of technicians quickly enter the room, bearing racks and crates. They open them to reveal glossy black storm commando armor, blaster rifles, carbines and pistols, grenades, thermal detonators and a myriad of tools. After a mass salute to Commander Revik, the technicians leave without a word.

Té was smiling. Later, once this was done and clear of duty, she would drink herself into unconsciousness at the memory of a lost friend. For now, this was familiar ground. Don the gear, systems check, check the weapons, double check the tech, synch and start. Stripping off the flight suit, she went straight to the armor.
'At least I'm not in that ship anymore', she thought to herself. "None yet, but I'll let ya know, Four"

Perallus Alden |

"Long as we get the right tools, shouldn't be a big deal. Just have to get our bearings, get in, rig the place, and get out in time for the fireworks."
Perallus moves to suit up, grabbing a rifle, and looking for tool kits for security and machine work. "Wonder if the rebels ever customize their gear..." Checking over the rifle, he pauses a moment, eyes glancing to his arm through the visor. Maybe if I can miniaturize it first...

Kira Wyndaru |

"Our objective will be to enter this complex to the southeast, make our way to the reactor core, and disable or destroy it with charges. Afterward, we're to call in an evac shuttle and return to the Armiger. Any questions?"
"Sir, what kind of resistance can we expect? Do we have any specific details about their defensive positions? Given the choice, are taking back prisoners an option, if they're needed for interrogation purposes?"
After questions were over, Kira looked over the crate full of gear, as well as the weapons rack. "Quite the collection." she thought. She walked over and started picking out the items that she would need. Most of her normal gear would probably have been adequate, but she ensures she grabbed some grenades, a couple of thermal detonators, and some useful tools.

"We expect heavy resistance. Initial scans are showing heavy turbolaser emplacements in the side of a large mountainous region. Moreover, there are signatures of smaller weapon emplacments in small fortifications near the main complex and reactor complex. Intel estimates that a facility of this size could house hundreds of pirate personnel, and if our files on the Zann Consortium are right, they'll be heavily equipped with both anti-personnel and anti-armor assets. A repulsor field is active across the entirety of the asteroid keeping artificial gravity and air on the rock, which means a signifigant energy cost.
As for prisoners, we are only to take prisoners if we're confident that they could be of value to Imperial Intellegence. Other hostiles are to be eliminated with extreme prejudice.
We'll be going in on the far side, away from the main force. We have other assets engaging the reactor facility as a distraction to draw fire away from our commando teams.
Any further questions?"

Melgora Kormanthul |

"If that repulsor field is the only thing keeping atmo and gravity on the base," Melgora comments thoughtfully, "That's a pretty big SPF--Single Point of Failure. What if we blow that repulsor field first? Back off, wait for the pirates and guards to suffocate, let the gun crews die off... Then just move in and secure our objective."

![]() |

Commander Revik smiles at Melgora's comment.
"Good catch Lieutenant. That's exactly why we're going to detonate the reactor. Our readings don't indicate that it will explode the asteroid itself, but will simply kill the power to it's systems. Once the enemy loses power, our space troopers and droids will move in to finish off any remaining resistance and recover any vital intellegence inside the main complex."

Perallus Alden |

"If we target the repulsor field first, though, we'll be tipping our hand and giving them time to regroup any troops that are suited up for zero-g or destroy any sensitive intel. In trying to make our mission easier, we might be shooting ourselves in the foot...Might have to just go for the main site and capture the whole thing in one move.

Ianthé Jack |
Té was suiting up and kept an ear to the discussions as she moved, relaxing more now that she was out of that flight suit and into more familiar equipment. A piston went on her hip, and her datapad went onto her thigh, already having started up the syncing procedure for the output to her helmet. The holster had not been hard to get, and she was since used to utilizing it that way-- of course, she had gone through a good many datapads before she found a brand that was durable enough for what she did.
Looking up from her almost meditative preparation process, her hands continued to place equipment and gear even as she spoke. "How integrated are their systems? It will do us little good if we get there only to find that each individual system has been separated and walled off from the others."

![]() |

"Exactly. That's what the main force is going to be attempting to do. Our armor assets, along with marine and stormtrooper boarding armor are equipped with magnetized foot plates, which will allow them to remain attached to the metallic deposits on the asteroid, as opposed to floating away. And as you know, your suits all have air and chem seals. Once that reactor goes, if you're not off the rock, remember this; Do not remove your helmet."

Perallus Alden |

Rifle, datapad, security kit, tool kit, a couple grenades, pistol, cable dispenser, combat knife...
Running through a mental checklist as he went, Perallus suited up, securing each item, donning his helmet and checking his systems.
Ok, helmet package is good to go, looks like a good sync...who in the galaxy chooses this font for the HUD...
glancing at the thermal detonators, Perallus chuckles a bit. "So, who wants to carry the hot potatoes?"
Anything we should or should not assume is available here? Anything specific we think we'll need, aside from the detonators to blow the place?

Kira Wyndaru |

Kira began suiting up, grabbing her equipment and placing them on her person in such a way as to be able to draw it in a moment's notice. She placed the helmet to her marine armour on her head, securing it in place. Kira then began to ensure the environmental systems in her armour were functioning correctly. The marine armour gave Kira 24 hours of life support, and just in case something goes wrong, she wanted to be sure that she could survive as long as possible.
Kira's mind drifted away to the last time she was stranded in space, clutching to the wreckage of her starfighter. She almost lost her life that day, but luckily was rescued by the other sisters of Emberlene.
"No," Kira thought. "That was in another lifetime. Put those thoughts away."
Kira turned to the rest of her group. "This medical gear is pretty heavy. Anyone have any extra room to help me carry some of it?"
Damned medical kit and surgery kit weigh a ton. Can't wait to get this stuff customized :)
@Tal: No problem. Glad to have you back! :)

Perallus Alden |

Securing the last bits of his armor, Perallus's voice now filtered through the helmet package as would a voice over a com as he made the last adjustments.
"Relax, it'll be textbook. We land, shoot a few rebels, I crack the locks, we set some charges, and fly off with the explosion at our backs. Long as nobody runs off doing anything crazy, it should go smoothly. If we do it with enough speed, we might actually get some time to do some work on our personal gear tomorrow...with any luck."

Ianthé Jack |
Ianthé had finished securing the holster on the hip opposite her datapad, settled for a cross-draw, since her shooting had was the same hand that she manipulated the datapad with. Stomping once or twice to settle the holsters and make sure nothing slipped out, she bent to pick up a small satchel. "So how many charges do you estimate we'll need?", she asked, looking up at Commander Revik. She had already arranged two blocks of Detonite and their respective timers near the small bag, but the telling point would be the charges.
While the commander answered, she continued equipping herself, taking a knife and securing it beside the holster, where she could grab it with her left hand easily. The helmet itself was not on her head yet.

Ianthé Jack |
Nodding, Té placed the charges into the satchel and then got another for the other three. If they could not take out what they needed to take out, then it was likely something that they would need orbital fire for. When she had gotten the equipment situated, the two satchels were not much, and she looked at the rest of the squad. "Got some space. Who needs what carried?" She had casually brushed off Thek's inquiry, not wanting to examine that particular line of thought yet. When she got back, she was going to give "Dirty" Calahan a proper send-off, probably complete with reprimand.
That was for later. For now, she considered her armament, and waited to see who had what before she added another pistol to her kit. Her tool kit was on her back, gun at her hip, datapad at her thigh (she needed to check the sync program), and enough explosive to give a small moon some orbiting siblings. Felt like old times.
