Eegru
|
Eegru returns to the others, whistling a jaunty tune. He shows the others his coin purse, now 2000 gold richer. ”Madame plans on bidding on the trellis plants. She gave Eegru 2000 gold for some seeds we found earlier. We can bid more now. Anyone talk to the couple over there?”
Snorri Thordenskjold

Snorri accepts Pateba's offer. "And hopefully, we can all walk away with what we want. Enjoy your art, my friend!"
Turel Avundlil

Feeling unnoticed, Turel figures his story is likely still fresh and untarnished in this crow.
He approaches Abeesa and attempts the same lie as before about this shard not being authentic, and the possibility of other replicas in circulation.

Snorri will have a chat with the Borkaliks.
Snorri Thordenskjold
|
"Well met. Have you seen any interesting lots?"
Snorri Thordenskjold
|
"Ra, you say?" Snorri says, being extra polite. "I must admit, I don't know much about him. Perhaps you can explain the appeal to me?"
This is Snorri bluffing to get him to reaffirm his interest in other items. We don't need to play his dialogue if you don't want. Eventually, Snorri follows up his response.
"Well, that is interesting! I hope you win it. As a matter of fact, why don't we make a deal? The only thing I am really interested in is the shield piece. I won't bid on your statue if you won't bid on that. Fewer bidders means we both get cheaper prices, right?"
Bluff: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Snorri Thordenskjold

"A few thousand," Snorri says. If he goes for a figure he will say "Ten thousand," which is technically true.

With that he waves his hand with unconcern. At that point the auctioneer, Aya Ajiri, calls everyone to start to the auction. Famish and Pateba have left leaving Madam Adenalar with a light purse and The Borkaliks. You are led to the Lecture hall (B3). As soon as the Bracers of divine range are introduced, the excited Abbashin Borkalik chimes in with a bid of 2,500 gold.
How do you bid?
As a reminder you were told "Use the Society’s money wisely to ensure you obtain the shard, but if you see any other artifacts on auction that might be better off in the Society’s possession, you can use these funds to obtain those as well."
Turel Avundlil
|
Turel whispers to the group
I don't think we can meaningfully eat into Abbashin's riches with opposing bids to diminish their ability to bid for the shard. The bracers don't seem particularly important for the Society to obtain (they aren't unique anyway). We should avoid the risk of a bidding war on these items. We could convince Madam Adenalar to have this fight for us, so much as she's capable of...
Turel approaches Madam Adenalar and tries to convince her that the bracers are unique.
Bluff: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 well...
Navatsiyk

"I would also focus on the Shard and ignore the rest. The bracers are unique actually. They work only on attacks made as part of divine spells though." Nava nods

Abbashin is able to snag the Bracers of divine range, the Phylactery of faithfulness, and the Golden statue of Ra.
Nobody bids on the Clockwork statue of Brigh, Kelksiomedes’s grape trellis, the minor staff of healing, Eldas’s platinum drafting tools, or the Incense of meditation, all to the disappointment of the Auctioneer.

Who has the money? Do we have an official bidder?
Not really important because...
The auctioneer is about to open the bidding when a humanlike creature with thick muscle and jutting bone from multiple corpses fused together crashes through the skylight to hover in the air suspended by rotting gold-guilded wings.
Roll this even if someone else made it...
A rain of sharp glass scatters around the room, piercing flesh.

Snorri's questions: immunities and resistances.
You may look up all the undead traits, which includes some immunities. Besides that you know it has resistance fire 10. Size has been adjusted. It is a medium sized creature since this is low tier. It also does not have resistance to cold. I took one look at the combat stats and realized my mistake!
The auctioneer quickly downs a potion he had concealed and turns invisible.
The creature lashes out at Turrel.
to hit claws: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1 and bleed
It hits with a claw and boy does that thing bleed damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3! Turrel feels woozy and nearly falls unconscious. With that bleeding wound he will require immediate medical attention or he will bleed out! After it's attack the creature drops to the ground and folds its wings, snarling at the group. The other bidders race towards the exit to the west.

Im having trouble with the maps, GM. I am hoping there is a spot the Eegru can approach to make him 10’ from the undead monster. If so,……
Eegru closes to within 10’ and then tosses his net at the monster.

Eegru moves to a location with a better shot gives it his best shot, in spite of the fact that it is embroiled in melee (giving Eegru a -4 to hit) the net wraps itself around the creature. Congrats! It's nice to see a unique weapon actually work. Nat casts a helpful spell but Snorri is unable to locate the creature while blind. His eyes clear a moment later and he notices it is a couple feet to the left of where he thought it would be :(
Turel, you want to use a healing potion or something? I already applied the bleed damage for this round, but you will take 1d4 at the beginning of your next turn if you do not do something about it. Thing is, though, that you will draw at least one AoO if you take out a potion and drink it while next to it, and it takes two actions to retrieve and drink a potion so you cannot step away, retrieve, and drink.

I should have asked this before his turn, but we weren't issued any healing potions for the mission, right? Turel did not buy one before the scenario.

@Eegru
Well, I am assuming you mean the creature that appeared and attacked, which is not an eidolan. The eidolan is with Navatsiyk and it would be quite rude to kick him. Quite rude indeed, and Eegru does not strike me as the rude sort :)
Your second kick lands quite nicely and damages the creature (which is an undead being known as a Gold-clad necrocraft).
