Combat over
------
The dryad strides forward I am Enzial, Thank you so much for disposing of these kobolds they grow too bold. It has been so since the white dragons from the mountains have hatched a new clutch of wyrmlings. This has spurred the kobolds who serve these dragons to hunt a staggering number of local animals for meat. We fey normally don’t mind hunting, but the kobolds’ predation threatens to wipe out several prey species in the area entirely. This can not stand. Why may I ask have you come to this forest?

![]() |

Polanco huffs and puffs having just reached the fight as it ended.
Wee lassy, point us in the die-rection of the wee kobolds dragons lair and we will bust it up really quick like.

![]() |

Will just smiles and shrugs, not really having much extra to add, and hoping that the dryad is not a friend of white dragons...

![]() |

The lair is less than an hour from here. There are two ways in a the main cave entrance and a more hidden rear entrance. I can help you find either. Although if you plan to fight the dragon you may want to might speak with Vallahk and Quiselle, the protectors of the forest. Although they are difficult to convince of anything, if you were persuade the two to aid your cause, the pair could provide considerable assistance. Enzial suggests.
Okay choice time, 1) Talk to the fey or 2) Enter the front entrance to the kobold/dragon lair., 3)Enter the back entrance to the kobold/dragon lair.

![]() |

"We are not dragon hunters by trade. Our mission involves inquisition into the passing of Ivvora and how she was able to bar the ingress of an evil entity known as Eshimka. We suspect that she met her demise at the talons of the wyrm Grathatonhakis and it is our hope that we shall find enlightenment here. Have you any information concerning either Ivvora or Grathatonhakis?"

![]() |

The dryad responds to Silgil, I have heard of Ivvora and I do know the powerful wyrm, Grathatonhakis, terrorized this region for centuries before dying unexpectedly nearly a millennium ago. Whether that was the deed of Ivvora I do not know. The white dragons were too fearful to return in force until the last century. But now they have return to make there home in these mountains once more.

![]() |

lets go directly to the back entrance of the kobold/dragon's lair
Sounds good. I don't think we are getting anything else out of the fey so let's go then.

![]() |

Enzial guides you from there to the path to the kobold's rear entrance. You follow a series of difficult switchback trails, climbing hundreds of feet higher into the mountains. An icy winds howls around each corner and temperatures seems to drop with each step.
Need a DC17 Fortitude save v. the extreme cold; endure element ignores the need to save and cold weather gear grants a +5 and luckily the Twinhorns provided you Cold Weather gear for the trip into the mountains.
5 nonlethal cold damage and the fatigued condition on a failure.
Also the caves a pitch black, so if you don't have darkvision tell me how you are seeing in the caves.
Once inside the cave, you begin to travel through the kobold warren’s outer tunnels, they range from 5–10 feet in width; you feel the dragon's lair is likely to the southeast. Some of the tunnels are small, forcing medium size creatures to squeeze (tunnels less than a full 5'x 5' square). You are able to disarm a few traps, and find a few others unarmed and used up.
Suddenly! As you move along the path, a pair of kobold sentries spot you and they immediately run off, one runs to the south out of sight, the other to the east. Everyone spots the kobold bolt, expect Brak who was taking note of a strange symbol on the wall and didn't notice them.

***OVERSEER ANNOUNCEMENT***
A sudden gust of wind rushes through the area, riming the trees and rocks with frost that resembles faces of the region’s fey monarchs. “Your Society has requested our aid, and we have agreed to support your endeavors. Carry our token, call upon us in your time of need, and ensure the dragons prey upon this region no more.” With that, the icy faces melt away, and each of you find a tiny crown of pine needles nearby.

Radagast and Fluffy move forward, Fluffy smells kobolds both directions. Polanco bursts down to the south. Silgil, fatigued from the cold, casts haste on his allies. Will races forward ahead of the others. He doesn't spot any traps, but he does spot a kobold staring back at him, watching up the tunnel, it's completely still. maybe -- how are you seeing Will? Ibaz shields himself and then races forward as well, following after Will.
The kobold stares back at Will in the dark.
It's then that Brak, Silgil, and Polanco notice among numerous carved petroglyphs depicting kobolds’, is a rounded cartouche containing several Dwarven letters and words. You instantly recognizes this as a gladdringgar, a dwarven mark carved into a cave to prove to others that a dwarf reached that point. But to fully decipher the gladdringgar you would have to stop and study it.

***OVERSEER ANNOUNCEMENT***
The kobolds continue to mount a frustrating defense, luring Pathfinders into cramped and trap-filled tunnels and unleashing captive monsters on unsuspecting agents. Even so, the kobolds are losing ground with each battle. As another skirmish echoes from elsewhere in the caverns, a tremendous roar reverberates through the cave complex, rattling stalactites and causing snowdrifts to slide down the outside slopes. As the sound dissipates, the voice of a massive creature booms from deep within the kobolds’ warren.
“Long ago my ancestor Grathatonhakis ruled here, and a meager dwarf challenged his might only to become his trophy. Both were fools, and both are now dead. I am neither, and your paltry attacks shall not change that. Fall back, kobolds of the Shiverscale tribe! Let these intruders die in sight of the last fool to challenge Horralydax, the master of the Tusk Mountains. Rally to me, my children. Today we dine on adventurers!”
The kobolds kowtow to the booming voice, scramble to their feet, and begin retreating deeper into the caves. For once they aren’t covering their tracks, so the way to the dragon’s lair is clear. Table GMs, please move to the encounter in area N swiftly.

As a free action on its turn, a creature can use its benefit to gain either damage reduction 3 or cold resistance 6 until the end of that encounter. You continue on until a narrow cavern to the east opens into a larger cave. A gently sloping ramp descends counter clockwise to an elaborately carved column of ice. A vast pile of gold, jewels, furs, and immense bones lie piled around the column. A thick fog covers the western end of the room, although you think something large may be moving within it; and a thick sheet of ice covers much of the northern part of the cavern. Several kobolds, crossbows drawn, look ready for battle (readied).
