"Do you know exactly where they built this village in the swamp? We've known about the Licktoad tribe, but goblins usually stick to warrens and unsavory hidey-holes, not whole villages. This is something I've got to see for myself! Even if only to landmark it."

Alfric leans forward to peer at Parvaneh more closely.
"Hm. You flatter me Madame; to the point of excess. Might I inquire what has brought you to this small village? My pardon if I seem forward, but you seem... more of a big city woman."
"The better question is what keeps me in this small village, traveler. It's a battle where I lose ground, day by day. I've been to big cities and small towns and tribes and caravans, from mountain ridges to forests and seaside beaches. What I think you might mean is that I don't seem like a Sandpoint girl."
She shrugs, leaning back in her chair and idly turning her own beer around. A challenging edge creeps into her voice, meeting his peer point for point. "What is it I should do, then, so as not to confuse a foreigner? To prove my pedigree as a native born daughter of Sandpoint?"
"The good old days. I always told Shalelu you should come with us on one, but she said you were having way more fun playing with your own friends. And boy, you kids played hard! I guess in some ways you still are. Look at you, going off and kicking goblins around. And don't worry, if their Chief doesn't want tourists, I'm not about to go adding their village to a map for everyone to see. For every sensible person who will look at a map and say, We ought to steer clear of there, that's goblin territory!, you'll have three adventurers wanting to go there specifically to earn quarry."
Mai replies
"How could you forget Parvaneh, she was one of us cute girls.
Though given the amount of whacky stunts you did I would not be surprised if you forgot some things."

Mai:
You know that Alfric didn't grow up with you guys right? He's only been around the Sandpoint region for a bare handful of years, so these stories are all new to him.
Mai replies
"Oh that's right you, you only really settled in here a few years ago. but you did pop in for a few months and then pop out of here about 12 and a half years ago with with someone for something."
"As for the traumatized goblin, Parvaneh. When we got into the wrecked Licktoad village, one of the rooms had a traumatized goblin that was rocking back and forth whispering "I don't wanna play with Ray," which is creepy."
"Skeletons, apparently. We found a cave full of them. Seems the goblins had found the cave and looted it, and, well, the 'owners' were...upset."
She smiles slightly. "I believe we settled that problem. And, of course, kept the stuff for our efforts. Speaking of which, let's look this stuff over."

to decipher it.

Parvaneh takes peculiar interest in the map on the opposite side of the fan. She even runs home, grabs a map of Varisia, and comes back to the tavern, spreading it out over the table and comparing it to the map on the back of the fan.
So that everyone can see it, Parvaneh finally has her Ah hah! moment and unfurls the fan to its full length, and then lays it next to an area on her map of Varisia.
"This is the most recent rendering of Brinestump Marsh. You can clearly see that the line on this fan matches the coastline in that area almost perfectly. Though there's no legend on the fan, I know what these markings indicate. That's a shipwreck. Oh, and so is that one. And this little block right here? That's a cavern entrance. You don't see that on a lot of maps, mostly because your casual traveler doesn't want to wind up in a cave. I usually only see this on maps intended for miners, landscapers, and spelunkers."
Mai adds
"That's is strange, considering that map was in the goblin treasure room and look at this part, it's an odd letter. Did a goblin draw this map?"
I don't think so. Don't recognize the letter. Or this box. But some of the iconography on this treasure looks Tian. Maybe Ameiko would recognize bits and pieces of it. Ameiko! Ameiko?
Parvaneh wanders around trying to find Ameiko to have a look at this stuff, too.
The map depicts Brinestump Marsh, along
with the locations of two shipwrecks and a cave.
The map also has a faded, square and triangle west of the land ships, and you did hear of an odd exiled goblin that did write and draw.

Alfric looks up at this.
"Well, I have heard rumors of an odd goblin exile who could write and draw. Truly a genius among goblin kind."
Alfric leans over Parvaneh, following her reasoning closely as she points out features on the fan-map and her own charts.
"Yes, yes I see it! The swamp, those two shipwrecks, the cave, and..." He pauses, looking closer. "What is that? That little square and triangle symbol west of the ships?"
"Mai is back and she found some amazing things in a cave down there. Some old Tian stuff, I think. Come take a look at this! The curry won't go anywhere."

Alfric frowns.
"Hm. I don't recall hearing of a Witch in that area. Is Master Shalelu about? She would know if anyone."
He looks around at the common room, hopeful she was here.

Alfric raised an eyebrow.
"Well, aside from the excitement with the goblins, it has been fairly quiet lately. I am a little curious as to what is out there as well."
"So demure. Come on, you know it'll be fun." Parvaneh seems confident enough that one would think she's ready to walk right out the door of the tavern and onto the road.
"Yea, I agree Mai. In fact, the next time we go in, I want to bring a wizard with maximum fireballs memorized and just raize the place.Um, don't tell any druids that, though."

Alfric intends to get a decent night's sleep, then get the team back together to go check out the location marked on the map. Hopefully he can get Shalelu to go along.
"The map's of Brinestump Marsh, has Megus's house on it and has a very rare goblin looking letter? in the corner.
And it looks like you found some Tian treasure."
A little place to chat - keep each other updated on RL situations - and maybe a release if you want to yell at me (or a player) even though your character wouldn't LOL.
Hoping to get to that white dragon soon (like two years, this is pbp).
Preview:
AC: 24
HP: 115
melee: bite +17 (2d6+9)
breath weapon - think standing in a freezer over night in your undies >:)
I reviewed both the character and the bloodline and corrected some issues.
1: The languages should be correct now.
2: The Draconic Bloodline gets Mage Armor as it's 3rd level bloodline spell, so I swapped out to Magic Missile, which was going to be my next pick anyway.
Oh, and I'm looking forward to...discussions...with that white dragon as well. ;)
Heading to work in half an hour will update this game first thing tonight.
So you can play/post you have unloaded everything and headed back to the tap room for a drink. Shalelu and the other PCs will enter the Rusty Dragon tonight. Should be home around 10:30pm EST.
And I will have the whole group in the same room. Awesome.
I had debated from the start using the Tattooed Sorcerer archetype. Would you allow a change at this point?
Things that would change:
Class Features: HD [d8]; Skill Ranks [8+]; BaB [as Ninja]; Fort [as Sorcerer]; Ref [as Ninja], Will [as Sorcerer]: Bloodline Powers [Familiar Tattoo; Thrush (+3 diplomacy)], Cantrips, Bonus Feat: Varisian Tattoo [Conjuration (idolis): acid splash], Spells Known [0th: 4; 1st: 2], Spells/day: 1st: 4 (3 + 1 [cha]); Poison Use, Sneak Attack +1d6
I loose the Eschew Materials feat class feature, replaced by the Bonus Feat: Varisian Tattoo and I gain Familiar Tattoo as my 1st level bloodline power instead of claws (which haven't come into play yet). The Thrush familar grants me +3 diplomacy (which also hasn't come into play yet). I also gain acid slpash as a spell-like ability 3x/day.
I would take Eschew Materials as my 3rd level feat and replace the trush familar with a pseudodragon at 7th.
Alternately, this change could be a result of the McGuffin in Brinewall.
If you don't feel you can allow this, it's not a problem, just let me know one way or the other, and if you do allow it, how you want the change to work.
Also, if the rest of the players object, I withdraw the request as well.
I think it will be ok for everyone to play their characters a bit before "locking" them in.
So everyone will have till level 2 to decide if their current class combo, feats, skills, spell selection, etc. are what they want. But after level up things will be set.
If your sure you wish to make the switch now then that would be alright with me.
NOTE: We aren't using XP we are going by the adventure track in the module which says everyone should be level two after dealing with things in Brinestump Marsh.
I am thinking of remaking Radko too. Before we settled for the current party format, he was intended to be a haunted character, a bit of a rogue/hunter type on the run from his past. But now as we are gestalt and have two ninjas, this build doesn't make much sense anymore. I'll try to mold him into some kind of a combat healer, maybe ranger/fighter on one side and cleric/oracle on another.
Still here and following the game, though I must admit I'm slightly disoriented as to what the party is going to do next.
I thibk that next we get info on the swamp and the goblins from Walthus, then we head out to goblintown to find them and explain to them that they shouldn't be using fireworks on sentients, and that since they can't be trusted to play nice, we're going to have to confiscate the fireworks.
The gobins, of course, will imediately see things in the proper light and hand the fireworks over to us. Or not. In which case we may have to be a little more forceful in persuading them.
The game is only alive as long as the players are posting (more than once a week) AND has a GM Running the show and posting.
If the players aren't posting OR the GM vanishes, the game starts to die.
As Few to No posts == players' losing or lost interest.
I'll try to post more often next week, especially if a sense of direction appears. If I fail to do so, I might decide to bow out altogether rather than drag everyone's game. I think this character didn't pan out quite as I envisioned him and I am having difficulties playing him out so far.

I thought Radko was fun, but if you're not having fun with him then work with the GM on a change. I'd be ok with you making a new character if you'll enjoy the game more that way.
@Radko. BTW, you're right about this part of the AP. Until you hit the last part of the swamp bit, it doesn't seem to make sense. I think that's why 'We Be Goblins' exists, to hint at the connection earlier.
This early bit is just the part before the credits roll...
new sorcerer bloodline (Oni), Wizard school and a new spell (Call of the void),
no ninja stuff, but one new archetype for Bard, Samurai, Witch, and Ranger.
I, too have minor posting issues this week. My daughter, who is cyber-schooled, is in 11th grade. Here in Pa that means she has to take a battery of state assessment tests. Since she's cyber-schooled, the have to be at an off-campus site. In this case the convention center in downtown Pittsburgh between 2 - 5 PM. it's a 1 hr bus trip. I have to be there, too, as her 'learning coach' and legal guardian.
They do have wi-fi. $50/day. So, I'll be posting either early morning or late evening.
We definitely need a healer. I like the combo I currently have, and I'd like to keep at least the ninja part. I was going with a dragon theme, which is why sorc. If no one else wants to be the healer, I could swap out, however I'm a cleric in my other PbP, filling the slot as an NPC in my RL Carrion Crown, and playing a Psychic Theurge in another. I'm kinda Cleric'd out.
1. We have to gather 750 gp or loot the wand off somebody to get it.
2. Radko can swap True Strike for CLW, and gain access to 2 castings/day.
3. I was planning on changing Radko anyway, looking at ranger/cleric or paladin/oracle combo.
As Sir Alfric is a ranger already, I'm leaning towards the second option. How does Paladin (Warrior of Holy Light) of Erastil / Oracle of Battle with the Tongues curse sound? That would be more in theme with Radko having divine gifts he's not fully aware of which I've begun setting for him.
