What can I say, I'm a fan of unorthodox and uncommon ideas.

So! To the point, I'm looking for you shiny, honorable, law-abiding, horse riding, followers of your deity!

I'm kicking around the idea of a "Orders of the Church" idea, or the ever-classic "Holy Quest" starter, but I'm definitely going to be working the story angle on this one.

All Paladins is fine. So is 3 Paladins and a Cavalier. Or Two Paladins, a Cavalier, and a Cleric, or an Inquisitor. I'd like Paladins to be in the majority, though. This story is intended to be driven by the characters, so make them deep, make them thorough.

I want to use Googlewave because it has the potential to make for a scene that is malleable, unlike the break-pause-post of PbP. If you are missing Googlewave capability, let me know. I've invites to spare.

I'm looking for 3 to 4 players (5 maybe), 1st level starting, 4d6 drop lowest (roll your three sets here), and don't skimp on the flavor.

The above still stands, and I am looking for a fourth again. So put your ideas here, sell me Character, and I'll let you know. The theme? "Faith and Steel".

In case anyone is wondering, some (but not all-- still ongoing) of the threads that have been started in this game thus far have been posted ~HERE~.

As the player of Ernesto in this game, I can say that memori runs a good game with exceptional opportunities for imagination and RP. The Wave format has pros and cons, but I like the fact that you can go back and edit things in stream to add RP fluff like raising an eyebrow in surprise during an NPC's conversation.

Would an oracle serve? I've been tossing around an idea for an oracle/sorceror/mystic theurge.

If not, how does a female, gnome (raised in the temple) Inquistor of Calistria sound? (With RAW, Calistria can't actually have any paladins, but I think an Inquisitor would be fair game.)

Either is possible, but ~who~ are they? There's only been one combat in one of the waves so far (besides Lindleys, and one in Rolandir's). I'm looking for the person more than the combat capability. Two of the characters are traveling together now, only because they started in the same area.

Another is likely to meet them maybe after eight (RL) months, given the posting rate and dependent upon character choices, if I had to estimate. I'm still pulling them together, but I absolutely refuse to wave the "Hand of God" just to get them to do that.

So who is the character? Where might they be from?

Quentin Sanders grew up in Katapesh, surrounded by the worship of Sivanah. For an inqusitive child, this could have been fun, but instead turned into torture; everybody wanted mystery, and nobody would explain anything. So, from an early age, Sanders turned his mind into the unraveling of mysteries.

Why wouldn't anyone allow children into the Nightstalls? Why were the Duskagents following that man with the funny plants? Why did people give mean looks to those funny gnolls? Eventually his parents apprenticed him in the service of Abadar just for a moment's peace. But Abadar's service turned out to be pretty boring, too.

Although he was really interested in magic, especially illusion, he didn't seem to have the knack of learning divine spells the way they tried to teach it. History was pretty interesting, especially when they would answer 'why' things happened, but the counting of and accounting for coins was not. And the people in the temple acted just like the people in the Nightstalls, though they usually dressed and smelt better.

One elderly priest warned that if he didn't reign in his curiosity and toe the line, a terribly curse would befall him. Quentin, of course, wanted to know what the curse was, and why it only affected the curious, and what relation this priest had to the curse. Sputtering, the priest threw his hands up and left the room. Ever since then, Quentin has suffered from unpredictable seizures and convulsions.

But with that curse came a gift. With some concentration and thought, Quentin could remember things he'd never learned. Or at least he didn't remember learning them. He started to connect with divine magic, though not the way the temple had tried to teach him. People started coming to this 12 year old boy with questions he could not possible know. And often, he could answer them.

A brief perusal of the threads you linked to wasn't enough for me to figure out where in Golarion the story was taking place. Hopefully this will highlight part of Quentin's character for you. Details can be changed to fit your setting.

Liberty's Edge

I'd also like to express interest, in the form of a human paladin in Ustalav. Already have a wave account. I'll have a background up in a bit.

Liberty's Edge

Hope you don't mind a narrative description.

To the Keeper of Records at Vigil-greetings in the name of our just goddess.

It is with heavy heart in which I write to you. I regret to inform you that the valorous Sir Rhobar is dead, killed by the claws of some dark beast here in the dark forests of Ustalav. I survive only because Rhobar demanded I flee with his family's holy symbol, which I have enclosed with this letter in the hopes that it may be returned to his sister in Taldor.

Despite the shame I feel at fleeing, I cannot help but believe that my life was saved for some divine reason. Something dark dwells here in Ustalav, something truly evil, and though my skills are meager I must do what I can to remove its influence from this haunted country. I pray to Iomedae that my lack of experience may be shored up by a strong faith.

I will not be returning to Vigil at this time. I ask the Watcher-Lord's forgiveness, but I doubt I could survive the return trip through Vyrlich on my own, and I lack the funds to purchase berthing on a ship back to Lastwall. I shall remain here in Cortaud while I hunt for this elusive evil. I hope that my courtly upbringing will prove of some use, but I am certain that vanquishing this darkness will require the work of the blade. Should I fall in the line of duty, know that I fell doing Iomedae's work.

In faith and justice,
your servant Theodric~

Raised the son of a minor noble in Taldor, Theodric Albercroft spent his early years being taught the complex rules of the Taldan court. Though he found himself skilled at such practices, the backstabbing, grudge-holding nature of the courts left his soul empty. His only solace in such activities was the beauteous Viviana Basinora, a young socialite, and wealthy heiress.

In time, Theodric's charm caught her eye, and the two began meeting outside of the noble's salons they often found themselves in. It was through Viviana that Theodric first met her brother Rhobar, then only a recently anointed paladin of Iomedae. In Rhobar, Theodric saw the brightness within that his own soul lacked. A strong, righteous, and charismatic man, Rhobar easily gained Theodric's admiration.

When Rhobar left for Lastwall, Theodric left with him, becoming his squire and casting off his noble name, just as Rhobar had done when he had joined Iomedae's crusaders.

I can manage the both of you. With it being this late in the semester, please don't expect daily posting from me, but I ~will~ post. So, send me an email at H_spirit(at)yahoo , if you don't have a wave account, else give me your wave account name, so I can add you to the OOC and we can start this journey.

Can't email at work, but I'll send you one when I get home. Thanks!

On reflection, I've offered to take up an orphaned Kingmaker game. I don't think I could do justice to both that and another PbP, and since you already have a candidate, I think I'll bow out.

Thank you for the generous offer, though. I do appreciate it.
