Bloody Snowflakes: A VTM20 Chronicle (Inactive)

Game Master Ridge

The city of Perle Perdu, Louisiana has always been the poor cousin to more famous New Orleans. Like that city, Perle Perdu faced devastation, driving many out of their homes for a time. Now they have finally recovered. But then, that's just one side of the story. The vampires have been rebuilding too, and their Mad Prince knows what a prize she has now that the population to feed on has returned. Whether plot or insanity is the cause, she has spurned entry from any new comers of the 7 Camarilla Clans in favor of far rarer bloodlines in the name of Cainite Diversity.

You are one of those rarities

Damien Talbot- Awakening Night 2

Damien Talbot wrote:

Hmmmm....interesting. Not as valuable as I had hoped, but still worthwhile as an addition to the collection. I shall have to see if I can find anything out about these three and if they still survive. Damien thinks to himself as he carefully puts the vials away.

This is not the sort of thing to bother the prince with and Tolya despises my very being...perhaps Maddie Hartman would be willing to speak with me on the subject...

Do I know the typical whereabouts Maddie may be found?

Madeline "Maddie" Hartman is not a typical ventrue in some ways. Of rural and originally poor stock, she fought off a take over by another ventrue over her familial lands, and won! That in turn got her embraced despite being in her later years, and her ability to read and rankle people made a harpy. She considers herself 'jess common folk' and 'down home', but she's a Ventrue. She wouldn't get far in this unlife being common anything.

So, when she was embraced, she used her powers to destroy the company the Ventrue used as the front to take her land. Petty Yes. Ventrue, yes.

And since she needed some 'in city'property anyway, she had it turned into green space complete with folksy manor home. Probably not her main haven, but it is very much her public one.

Heading that way is no trouble, and with the club in good hands, he made his way towards it. It was definitely more 'supersized cabin' than antebellum, but the style didn't change the fact it was large and luxury ridden.
And there is no valet, but there is Maddie, out on the oversized front porch, rocking as an old woman is supposed to.

"Well, broom earlier earlier, should have known I'd had company. Come on up, younsgster."

15th of August, 2017, a Tuesday - Alyson - A call beneath the night sky

Alyson Reed wrote:

Oh, it did not only feel as if the world crumbled, it did. Alyson knew that she depended on her too much...but too much was at stake - she could not afford any mistakes. When the call ended, Alyson stared at the phone until the display went dark again, then slowly walked back downstairs:"I am sorry, go ahead and do meet with the gang...I need to pick Vivienne up at the airport! I promise i'll make it up to you!"

"It's okay," He says, thought he longs to with her as much as possible he also knows she has her own life, or unlife, her own needs. What he feels is a love so profound he would walk through fire for her.

Just as Alyson might walk through fire for Vivienne

Quote:

Soon after, she was on her chopper...she would need to hurry to get over to Vivienne's place and pick up her car, then rush to the airport.
All the while doubting herself, and wondering about her incredible luck to have a sire as perfect as she did.

Alyson breaks the speed limit on the way to pick up the car, but avoids any police attention. From there, it is much easier to get the car and drive to the airport but she still has to fight the urge to accelerate and get their all the sooner.

Perle Perdu's main airport is as crowded and vexing as any when it comes to finding parking or pick ups, but, fortunately for Alyson, Vivienne always travels first class, and pays extra to get past security. Anything that distracts from the music her sire's mind, her sire tends to find away around.

So Alyson doesn't have to wait long to see Vivienne. The beautiful vampire is a classic beauty, long neck, high cheekbones, and lustrous long hair scooped up high.

Her outfit is very high chic, and she certainly stands out among a crowd of jeans and jeggings.

"Alyson, my prize, thank you for coming to pick me up," But Alyson also hears her voice near her ear, "We'll talk in greater detail in the car. I will want to know everything about this ravnos."

It took several years for that point to resonate with me, but it eventually did. We ARE the dead so baggage of such a nature is really just luggage we carry around from our Mortal lives.

But THAT particular rivalry is between Brujah and Troile and there it should remain. Thus, this is a long winded way i suppose of telling you that I have left my prejudices behind.

I shall judge you on merit which I would hope you would do for me in turn.

The "week of Nightmares" as I believe Beckett coined it, changed everything, we must leave our luggage with the baggage of our Elders and look for a fresh start.

However, that does not mean that you and I cannot use these assumptions that others may make of how we feel about to our advantage no?"

Stewart leaves his outer patrol of the hotel, rather than Marcus risking him further, he sends back to the University. Someone waves at him, and he gives a generic nod, and soon Stewart's form is tapping away at computer records.

Owned and managed by one Tomas Howlett. This he knew from his first search. However, Howlett doesn't have much on social media, or much in the news. He fills out his city forms regularly and has little trouble getting them approved. The hotel has been in his hands since the flood, previously it was owned by Timothy Hardin. He ran it for 20 years. Then before that, Tony Harmon...and that's interesting. A T.H. in every incarnation. In the 80s this was the place to go to but dwindled fast in the 90s.

"Perhaps I am giving the wrong impression on what I mean by Traditions. While I disagree with some of the Laws of the Night, my disagreements are largely academic. I have no desire to overthrow the order which I am sensing you seem to think I am implying.

By Traditions I mean the mores that have been handed down to us, the stereotypes of what we should believe about one another. Such as Tremere must hate and hunt Salubri, the Trujah must despise the Brujah and vice versa. Those are the Traditions that I seek to do away with.

I appreciate your candor that you do not trust me. I suppose by coming here I seek to understand where that mistrust comes from. Is it related to long the standing Traditions I have described or some act that I have undertaken?

Indeed I am seeking to draw you into an alliance of sorts. It seems that you have no wish to do so. Understandable and I shall respect that and push no farther.

I do indeed wish to have access to this Elysium, from a standpoint of learning at least I surmise we have common goals else why would you agree to be the caretaker of this particular Elysium. I assure you, I would see the rest of the city burnt to ash before a single page in any book here or at any other institution of learning was damaged.

I certainly acknowledge that we are not peers socially nor could we be unless I am to assume a position within the administration of this city which is not something that I desire.

As you have been direct, let me be direct, I am here to ensure no bad blood between us and I am willing to prove my good intentions to you.

15th of August, 2017, a Tuesday - Alyson - A call beneath the night sky

Quote:

I will want to know everything about this ravnos."...

Anxiety. That was the name of the feeling that dominated Alysons conscious mind as she was waiting in the car in front of the airport.

She would have went inside to pick her Sire up...but that would have meant parking further from the entrance at the lot, AND Vivienne did not usually exit with the other passengers, bypassing customs. Alyson had not inquired how exactly she did it, but since she never went with all the other passengers, picking her up inside the airport was pointless.

Before Alyson saw her, she FELT Viviennes presence. The music in her mind calmed down and turned into a...opera orchester, for lack of a better comparison. The fugue connected all of her bloodline, not unlike the Malkavians network...but on a more raw, creative, emotional basis. Vivienne had seen the car, and Alyson had felt the feedback, then interpreted it with joy. Jumping out, she looked around, then rushed towards her Sire, taking the little luggage she had and carrying it to the car.
"I would have wished for nothing else than to pick you up...it allows me to be with you!", Alyson responds with a smile, not reacting to the other voice and waiting until they made it to the car. Driving to her Sire's haven, she explains all she remembers, about the meeting, and about Damascus Lethe..."...he must have stalked us all the way from back then...I mean, we faked my death with the help of a Tzimice - why would he be as persistant as to follow us here? Do you think he means to use me as a tool to damage you? I won't allow that!", Alyson carefully maneuvers the vintage car into the garage and turns off the engine."What should I do?", she now focuses her attention on Vivienne, trying to read her expression-

Paolo Costa-Awakening Night 2

Quote:

As soon as Paolo steps out into the park and the car pulls off, the shadows seem to shift, and Gaetano is there.

"Hello, my son," He raises a brow, "An uber? Hmmm."

"Hello, Father," Paolo said, bending his neck respectfully. Gaetano was his father, who shaped him into what he is now. Raymond Dykstra meant so little by comparison. He did not quite meet Father's eyes. The Abyss had brought the truth to Paolo. Father did not want a slave of him. If he had, it would have been easy thing in those first nights.

"Not by choice," he said softly. "It's my own trouble, but might be related to ours." Paolo looked about. He was sure he didn't need to, but you always looked. Father taught him that.

"I don't know if there is a connection, but on the way to the library last night I saw a woman -not my neighbor you know of- fleeing some men. She had some kind of box. I saw the swastika on one of the men." Paolo lowered his voice further still, confident Father would hear every word. "It's best my car not be seen for a while, as a precaution." He looked again. You kept looking; Father taught that too.

"The other men ran. The woman saw me. I betrayed nothing important, but in the time it took me to stop she was already on the roof of a building. Seconds. She laughed. She must be...a distant cousin. Or something else. I nearly mentioned her at the library, but I have no real information about her beyond the sighting and the other matter distracted me. I hoped to learn more and bring that forward, as a public service, but my night was filled. According to the news, it seems she stole something from the men."

"This happened between my home and the library, not very close and I wouldn't connect them at all except for the timing and the other problem. I have spoken to my neighbor. I could have handled it better, but she believes what I told her and relocated to a hotel. She is there with a friend now. I plan to ensure her reliability starting tonight. Perhaps the friend as well. She knows that her boyfriend is in trouble and may have to flee, but I believe she has not taken matters further. He saw something he shouldn't have and got mixed up with people who have connections."

"It may have been better to assert myself," Paolo admitted. Father worked hard to teach him that mortals all felt the Abyss' touch and yearned to be mastered by it. Paolo's faith in that truth had only grown with time, but he still struggled to make it complete. A small part of him always resisted. Father's many lectures on how to bring their long-ago slaves to heel were hard to accept. "She was alone then, but I could not see a sure, quiet way through." The first drink might be enough to win trust, but one never knew until the third.

"But she knows me to be harmless, or close enough. I have more worry for her friend, who could be anyone. I'm sure she will not let the two of us alone together."

Interesting, some of the records were 'destroyed' in the fire and never made it online making it hard to read all the dates. And, of course, it's a convenient excuse to slip in one's own paperwork which maybe the case here by whoever.

It does look like things were sold more than inherited.

Officer Lackey greets him and tells him they haven't spotted that guy they were looking for but they keep their eyes out. When the second drop hits his belly, he shudders for a moment then blinks, eyes widening. Yes, he's already feeling very chummy with professor Welby.

No less effected is Officer Stephanie Grey. Her own second dose seems to send her into a blissful eurporia for a moment, then "Wow, lately the coffee has been fantastic." A pause, "You know, I never asked, but are you married, Professor?"

It is the third that turns out to be trickier, the gent waves off the offer of a drink, "No thanks. Bladder the size of a pea. I don't drink anything but water or I'd have to get up too often."

Arthur stands and gives a stiff bow to the Keeper, "I do understand Keeper.

I shall endeavor to convince him that the overdue fees would not be worth the trouble. If he will not relinquish it to me, at the very least he will be put on notice that you seek it back. Have a good evening, I shall return when I have an answer from him one way or another".

If the Keeper does not give me directions, I will assume that Arthur at least knows where Primogen Northcliff holds court.

"Nosferatu thrive on hiding, but if you wish his attention, well, I can think of no better place than the web." The web was to be Northcliff's master stroke, one way mirror walkways connecting skyscrappers for mortal use, but actually twice as big as they appeared so the Nosferatu could walk over the prey on the 'main paths' and snatch up food like it was nothing. "He or one of his few childer will note you there."

The Web is more a set of passage ways than a proper court, but it was to be the Nosferatu vanity hunting grounds. No sludging through slime and filth. And high above it all.

He wanders for awhile, some kine already take it for granted, looking down on the city that cannot see them. Yes, you could be murdered in this glamorous architecture and no one see it.

Paolo Costa-Awakening Night 2

Paolo considered Father's words carefully. He had not been at his best last night. He could give reasons, but Father would know them as excuses. He had done more to endanger himself than he should have, taking far too gentle a hand toward the kine. And he must build the power of his will more. Strength would not have helped as much, except to kill Contessa. That would have brought its own complications.

"I'll take an Uber home tonight and complain about the car being stolen to the driver, then go leave it somewhere and get another from some distance away," Paolo said. That took care of the easiest problem.

"You are right, Father. I was impulsive and not careful enough. I thought first of our particular problem...but I should have thought more of other dangers. It's always both. And I have not devoted enough time to mastering the subtleties of the offline world these past years."

Paolo thought for a moment longer, his mind racing. It would be much easier if he could enlist Betty's help, but there was no way to get her into a hotel.

"She has probably called her friend for protection, but maybe only comfort. Either way, I thought to bring them coffee and have them to drink. Starbucks, black." So the blood wouldn't show. "It's a normal thing for people to do, bringing drinks. I'll get a third and spill some of it on my pants to explain why I don't have my own. That should dispose them to trust me, further. I could ask both to stay another day in the hotel, while I try to find out more, and bring them drinks again. Then the third night would be easiest. Anything I could do to separate them would only arouse suspicion."

"It is a long time of exposure, I know. The delay has kept me from doing such things with others, sooner." Paolo didn't ask. He didn't not ask. Paolo would rather solve things himself. Except for computer services, he didn't think he had much Father would find useful. But if it was such a bad plan that Father dismissed it...

Options ran out far too quickly, after a night of opportunities.

The make shift bowl is presented "Only a little dear, I fed on the flight, but I don't want to be ravenous too soon."

As she laps and drinks, Alyson can feel all certainties vanish. Her sire is a gift from God, no doubt of it! An angel sent to her!

Even as the beast inside of her luxuriates in richer vampire vitae, Alyson's soul feels transcendent with love.

For the protocol, I am interested in other stuff, but unless Vivienne kicks her out, Alyson would stay with her sire and bask in her presence - so if you had anything else planned for tonight, you'll have to force her away from there *gg* Just saying because I may not seem to give many prompts right now, but thats mostly because Alyson is rather happy right now so any change from the status quo would be for the worse ;)

Marcus Welby a phone call

Having no luck with the camera man and needing more blood and more meditation Marcus will depart and head back home for the night and then on his sire with the phone to see if she knows any kindred with the initials that he discovered owning the Petunia hotel.

It is not his sire, but her ghoul that picks up the phone, a fellow by the name of Rudolph, "Professor Welby? Is that you? I had thought the mistress had released you entirely." He remembers Rudolph. His sire's most trusted ghoul.

15th of August, 2017, a Tuesday - Alyson - Vivienne's haven

Vivienne cooed lightly, until finally she felt her childe had had enough and she could give no more without bleeding anew. Licking the wound, the sire healed entirely.

Rarely has Alyson been so content. Her sire's blood inside her refreshed, Vivienne near her. What could be better? At her sire's haven, Alyson found herself lounging inside the haven on a divan near her sire for what seemed to be an hour of just relaxing.

Finally, her sire said, "Come dear, I know how you love attention. Even if you deny it yourself. And I? I have not heard your song often enough. Let us go to one of those clubs. You pick ,the Snake Pit, the tattered veil? I want some place where you will perform for all to hear. Pick one."

Okay ,thanks for that head's up. I didn't want you to get bored OOCly so I'm having her sire drag Alyson out in a way that I hope makes sense.

15th of August, 2017, a Tuesday - Alyson - Vivienne's haven

No worries, I just figured I should tell you that due to priorities, everything else would not be as desirable as being there with her. Not because boredome, just because I feared it might come across wrongly-

Lounging in the divan, unaware of the wide grin on her face, a physical representation of the all-emcompassing happyness Alyson felt, she had to wake from her dreamy haze to make sense of the words Vivienne spoke.

At first, it hab been like a song, and only after a few moments she realized there was meaning attached to the sounds.
"I...uh...I was in the Veil yesterday. I'll probably have to work at the Pit tomorrow, so...the Veil. I prefer not to feed where I work, so if we want a light snack later, it's the better option...and I think Justina might like to listen, too." Alyson nods, her decision surprisingly firm.
She liked the Pit, and her co-workers, and there was no event scheduled, so she could have had the stage to herself...but it was her place...bringing Vivienne there felt...not wrong, but...not right. And there was a good chance Sam had gone there with some of their friends after she run off in the evening. Sam, of course, knew Vivienne, but Alyson did not feel up to the task of explaining her relation to this angel in words that would transmit this intense relationship to her other friends without striking them as weird or endangering the masquerade...

ah Rudolph you sly devil, I am in Perle Purdu still and looking for the identity of a mystery kindred with these initials and various monikers and thought She might know more. It is true I am released, but this could curry favor for us both with the Prince here.
