Bloody Snowflakes: A VTM20 Chronicle (Inactive)

Game Master Ridge

The city of Perle Perdu, Louisiana has always been the poor cousin to more famous New Orleans. Like that city, Perle Perdu faced devastation, driving many out of their homes for a time. Now they have finally recovered. But then, that's just one side of the story. The vampires have been rebuilding too, and their Mad Prince knows what a prize she has now that the population to feed on has returned. Whether plot or insanity is the cause, she has spurned entry from any new comers of the 7 Camarilla Clans in favor of far rarer bloodlines in the name of Cainite Diversity.

You are one of those rarities

Joseph Merrick. Nice to meet you. Mind not piggy backing my ass while I'm trying to do the same thing you're doing?

But it works, and Paolo knows the address where the person is, they are at, a substation? Could be a redirect, but he doesn't think so. Someone is squating at a substation for their hack.

I'll get out of your way. Substation. That name. A Nosferatu? Whatever; Paolo got the call and delivered first. That should count for something. If it was a Nosferatu and they were doing the same thing. But who else would hack from a substation? Nobody but someone in the know, so a kindred, would be doing what Paolo was doing.

Paolo got out of Merrick's way; he didn't want invisible enemies. The Nosferatu were supposed to be clannish, not that Paolo had had anything to do with them. Best not to cross one and bring the lot down on him. An invisible ally, though...

Couldn't hurt to watch. Discretely. If nothing else he had the location of a present Nosferatu controlled substation filed away and knew he was probably better than Merrick, but not by much. That took some skill. They might be very useful to one another in the future.

To avoid being noticed.

Whoever this is, whoever it really is, he/she has talent, he/she has skills, but they're not as good as he is. It's comforting really.

But 'JM' is tackling the other areas he may not have thought of, not by erasing, but by tracking ... especially on Social media. Anyone posting on Book of Face or the like about Vampires, especially if they mention Perle Perdu in it, are going to get tagged. It's a rather clever intrusion slipped in

Paola is making it impossible or at least hard for folks to find them, where as JM is making so that those that try to post about such things get found out that much quicker. One only wonders what kind of visitors they'll get for trying.

Yes a single shovelhead can that is what they count on. You play at their game in your city, I am suggesting that is something that be changed. They must be the hunted. As I am verbose I'll leave it at that and allow you to ask me if you wish to know more of my thoughts".

The Prince's eyes flash for a moment the sheriff, "Sharper than a serpent's tooth he maybe, ingrateful he maybe, but he's no Sabbat. His crime is one of breaking his routine, and some would say cunningly so. This just a display of his power, how the Anarchs will not be content to be our first line of defense and then ignoreed That much is obvious. I may stake him for endangering my city in this little power play, but not for joining the sabbat. the punishment should fit the crime IF Crime there be." She draws out her fan and flutters.

"Praise? My Prince I passed on to you facts. Nothing more, nothing less".

Arthur ponders the implications and adds, "I agree, I doubt Fang would join the Sabbat based on the limited interactions I have had with him. He is too smart for that".

ST Gloaming wrote:

"You will need a great deal of blood indeed, sir, and as you have along with others been a gallant champion tonight, it will be provided unto you. But it will take more than that, sir. You need rest, or all the blood in the world won't help you."

The Prince turns to the Sheriff, "Both he and our dear Lasombra Antitribu senior have said much the same thing, that this is a diversion to something greater. Even you agree but you are also right that we cannot simply go off ignoring the breaches of the Masquerade hoping to stumble onto the true pack. We might win a battle and lose existence. I want you take Mr. Carter, Mr. Costa, Miss Reed, Professor Welby, Mr. Talbot Miss Ha, Miss Betty and that Lethe fellow under you as Hounds. Make sure they get proper weapons, maybe a little protection."

The Sheriff's eyes widen, "My prince, some of them, I dare say, most of them are not suited to combat."

"Well, we appear to be low an alternatives," The Prince says, "I didn't say to sell their unlives cheaply, Sheriff. As it stands, there is now a blood hunt on all Sabbat. And however they are disposed of, in any way as long as it doesn't violate the Masquerade or set my city on fire makes no nevermind to me."

Then the Prince turns to Arthur, "Don't worry, my dear Gallant. I doubt the Hounds will be assembled until tomorrow night. The Sabbat are often even more prone to daylight sluggishness than we so this will, for good or ill close up in the next hour or two for this night. May I offer you a haven and a few vessels that are safe to drink from?"

"And where do you think they will attack?" The Sheriff inquires of Carter, "My own guess is the Lasombra havens. One has already been burned down."

Arthur nods to the Prince, "Indeed my Prince, I shall accept your kind offer of Blood and Sanctuary. First, I shall need to attend to my temporary haven to ensure all is well and then I shall arrive wherever you tell me to go.

I suppose you are correct in that, those with little Humanity whose Beasts are so close to the surface often do rise slowly.

Certainly Lasombra Havens and perhaps the Haven and business of the Kiasyd he is after all in many ways a proto-Lasombra. If they can guess at Elysium locations they may strike those as well.

I suspect that this Pack has moved to the outskirts of the city as to avoid the ramifications of the actions they set into motion. What was the original location struck? Something crowded and on the outskirts of town? It might do well to set a curfew and close businesses where the Kine gather so as to make the next Sabbat attempt to create their little minions cost more in terms of time and effort.

With respect to the Caitiff my Prince, that does not appear to be a Sabbat operation, or an odd one if it is. Perhaps a personal vendetta? Are there any other female Kindred who were not in attendance at Elysium the other night? The Giovanni perhaps? Regardless, tomorrow I will see if I can make headway into that particular investigation before we begin to hunt this nomad pack".

Paolo Costa- Night 3! What's cooking tonight?

That was a good idea. If Paolo had been at home with his full suite of equipment, he might have done the same. But there was a time crunch and he hadn't been asked to meddle with social media. Doing so now would surely earn him an enemy he didn't want.

Satisfied for the moment, Paolo decided he had best get home. He could check Contessa's house on the way. Reassembling his office needed to wait for another night, since he had no idea how long the police and fire would keep him busy. And the neighbors that might be out and want to offer him a bed.

They'd be much kinder to offer him blood, but there might still be time for that tonight.

Arthur isn't sure if he's missed anything per se. It's obvious the Anarchs have moved out of the way from helping, and may use this as excuse later to make some demands. Interesting, Fang is not playing Anarchist... he's playing Union leader.

And it may just work.

Further, the Prince's curtailing the Nosferatu population means that the usual spy net work may not be as effective as it could be, allowing the Sabbat an easier time. New bloodlines are fine, indeed, he himself has benefited and the Prince is right, there is a vareity discrepancy between the Camarilla and the Sabbat, to the sabbat's advantage. But some organization has been lost for her attempts. Whether he wants to bring that up is his funeral..err choice.

That's him in the alley all right.

As he's not looking, he's not sure why Jacob isn't picking up.

Quote:
"I'd admire it more if it were directed elsewhere," Wryly, "You think he'd at least have some appreciation for the Garygoyle. Poor creatures I've always thought. But they are showing new independence and growth and not just in Perle Perdu, much to Tremere consternation."

"Point taken, good sir. I suppose I have yet to be the direct target of much of his ire."

Quote:

"Please, please, my mouth is close to watering. That sounds perfect, and I thank you for even what i imagine it will taste like so I truly look forward to trying it."

The promised drink prepared and handed to him, he raises the glass in a toast, "Put a good face to bad times"

And then he tries it, and savors. One can almost see the older vampire drift back, one wonders how many centuries? just one? two? more?

Finally he parts, "This does take me back, and i thank you for that, Maestro."

"I am pleased you have enjoyed it, Gaetano. Know that you are always welcome in this club should you feel the need for another specialty drink. I won't go as far as to wish you a good evening...that ship has sailed, but perhaps a better rest of you evening would be appropriate." Damien says to the elder vampire as he departs.

Damien scans the club to see if there are other who need attending to. If not, he heads back downstairs to see how Lydia and Holly are getting along.

Much at later at night, and still no other kindred. It must be the Sabbat, 'official' word or not, the Camarilla are not out clubbing. Either that, or they are, but at the tattered veil.

Not that this city isn't big enough for more than one club that caters to Kindred now and then. He knows his has the best bar, but... the music of the Veil does bring them in.

Heading downstairs he realizes either his talk took longer than he thought, or Lydia is uber prepared.

Possibly both.

"You said you're trust me." Lydia said, "And you said you wanted to encourage tips."

"I feel a bit silly," Holly mutters, but turns and her boss gets a look at her. Black sleevless top that shows off athletic shoulder and well formed arms, black pants, but both pants and top have sections of sheer material next to the opaque strategically placed. The high boots with a multitude of straps make Holly seem a half inch taller at least, and the stich up bracers break what would be bare arms up. Her hair has been hit with a dash of red, though it looks more pink in the light, cotton candy, and eyeliner and lipstick have been skillfully applies, "But yes, I'll wear it."

Lydia notices him, "what do you think of her work uniform?" She approaches him while Holy waits as stoicly as a farm girl turned goth can, "Pretty damn good for a rush job right?"

But in more detail, a pale woman with an almost artificial smoothness to her skin making it hard to place her age , dressed in a dress with a price tag still danging out, is drinking from Jacob from behind with almost feral delight. While her dress is new, her shoes are crusted with dirt, and there is some in her hair.

Alyson Reed -Night 3! The name of the game...

Fang wrote:

Table 3 seems to be packed with more chairs than originally intended. It had three college age women at first, dressed in nice club wear really. And then, three more joined them.

Fang and three of his anarchs are here. One of the college girls is in his lap purring like a kitten as he strokes her neck and she looks into his eyes. Another fellow, a big muscular vampire, well, the woman near him is more confused than enthralled. The third college girl with glasses definitely is enthralled, and confused, as she finds herself smitten with a female anarch. The fourth anarch is a latino gent who has a headset plugged in.

"Don't mind us," Fang gestures to himself and the other Anarchs, "We ate so to speak. Just crashing and waiting it out. Now these three ladies probably have orders."

The three college women will mumble their orders.

Alyson stands frozen for just a moment when she sees Fang and his gang. While they were not, technically, customers, this was a free country - as long as they caused no trouble, they could go where they pleased.

Noting the college age women, Alyson wondered about Fangs REAL age.
"Hm-mmh. I can see, so nothing for you? No Bloody Mary's?", she looks at the other Anarchs with a grin, then back at Fang:"That said, I see you had take-out, but if you ever intend to sample the local cuisine, make sure to place your order with me. There's a few items to avoid and I would appreciate a chance to point those out." - it WAS a free country, but her friends frequented this place, and she'd rather not see someone else touch them...
Then Alyson did her job. Which seemed simple enough. She picked up the girls orders on her handheld, then stopped with Diana on the way to pick the drinks up at the counter:"Was there any trouble with Table 3? Why'd you ask for help before?"
While delivering the drinks, she'll softly whistle a tune, looking at Fang as she places the drinks in front of the girls...not like those girls would care about or even remember the service later. When done, she smiles at the Anarch Leader:"Cash or Card?"
She wondered, of course, why Fang WAS here. With his buddies. But if he meant for her to know, he would tell her. Alyson was, right now, just a waitress. And intruding into the business of customers was not something that made people likely to tip well. Chances were, they simply picked the girls up nearby and the Snake Pit happened to be the closest place they could go to.

"For one vampire? that's insane..." Bethany thumps her head against a wall, "Oh wait, Malk Prince. Life boon is a bit extreme I think. My Sire is Alicia Hunter... the Sheriff."

Four times I've had a decision here and forgotten what the important stats were... One of those days.

Paolo Costa- Night 3! Jacob is not on the menu!

Paolo knew he had to act fast. Once the gun came into play her inexperience wouldn't matter. He only had one solution: the Abyss. It hungered for her and he would feed it. He made a silent prayer to the silence before Fiat Lux. The woman's own shadow became something more and reached up to seize her as vitae sank away in his veins.

Obtentacles! Burning 1 WP for a success.
Manip+Occult: 6d10 ⇒ (5, 1, 1, 2, 1, 7) = 17

Tentacle constricts. It doesn't look like they need an attack roll? If they do, their effective Str and Dex is his 5 from Obten ranks.

Str(Obten)+1: 6d10 ⇒ (7, 5, 1, 8, 3, 4) = 28 It's something...

Marcus will nod and dial the sheriff saying my clan is particular about domains and the traditions speak for themselves.

When the phone is answered he will say:

Sheriff? This is Marcus. Your childer is here at the university and has been breaking domain here by feeding on University grounds without permission. How should you like to handle this? Peacefully and quietly of course, and I would be happy to erase the video footage of it.

Lydia rolls her eyes, but does not scoff as hard as he thought she might, then again, she can be pretty adventurous so she hardly gets to play the ingénue.

"Well, Chased Not Chaste is still on the road and seems reluctant to nest anywhere, and Can Shadows Scream? broke up. Cyril Swan is a good DJ but I think she's in a contract. I can look into any of the them to see if I can salvage something? Which one?"

"Let's try for Chased Not Chaste. Based on your information, they would seem to be the easiest to pin down, you know not requiring breaking of contracts or soothing whatever squabble caused the break up in the first place." Damien says with a shrug. "You've never let me down, my love. I have no doubt you will come through again. In the meantime I will see if I can pry Miss Reed away from the Tattered Veil."

No worries. I'm double checking a lot of things myself going 'I THINK that's how it works'

Such is Paolo's rush that only the strength of will within him brings the abyss to this world, a single tentacle lashes about and grabs her.

The Fiend is not pleased, and snarls, straining, burning some of Jacob's blood that she had just claimed for her own.

str roll to break out, needs to beat one success 3d10 ⇒ (10, 10, 4) = 24

Breaking free she draws the gun, "Would that I could kill you with my dark gifts, but, you know, this will have to do."

And her action was getting the gun out of her purse which means you can go again. She doe have it locked and loaded though

There's a groan from Jacob, "There is no yorkie is there?"

"Professor? It's the Sherif's voice, and there's gunfire sounds "The city has Shovelhead Sabbat everywhere, now is really not a good time" Another sound, could be a head hitting pavement "Wait, my childer? Bethany? Damn it. Professor, we may have to talk later. If you would kindly release her I will discuss the matter on another night with you. I really can't go there tonight for obvious..." gunfire, "...reasons. But rest assured I will talk to her about this."

Did the constriction do any damage before she popped out?

Paolo Costa- Night 3! Jacob is not on the menu!

The arm of darkness rising from her own shadow reached for the Fiend once more as Paolo drank deeper of the Abyss, and it of him. He felt an old thrill and could almost smell the sweat as he crouched down and charged her.

Constrict
Str(Obten)+1: 6d10 ⇒ (6, 2, 10, 6, 6, 8) = 38

Blood buff Str to 4 and Cinch.
Str4+Brawl: 5d10 ⇒ (3, 4, 2, 7, 8) = 24 2 successes

Looks like I get to inflict damage on the first turn.
Str: 4d10 ⇒ (1, 1, 4, 10) = 16 Not that I do...but we're wrestling now!
:) I can chow down next round if she's still cinched up.

"I can get them to perform here at least a few times," She says with certainty, tapping her fingers , then smiles at his praise, "Flatterer, You know i'm pretty fond of you, lover. Always have been, always will be."

Then Damascus Lethe, Ravnos, stumbles in, there are bullet holes in his jacket.

Oops. I may have forgtten something

ST rolls and junk:

2d10 ⇒ (10, 6) = 16
2d10 ⇒ (7, 4) = 11

For a new kindred, it appears she can take a hit! Bruising...

Oh that isn't good... Damien thinks, seeing the state of the Ravnos's jacket.

"Damascus, my good man. Good to see you again, why don't you come upstairs with me and have a drink."
