Spooky Skeleton Scarecrow

The beastly woman howls as the hunters surround her. You look on, horrified, at the effects of the plague running riot through her. Her skin toughens and even as her blood spills across the street she seems unhindered by wounds that would kill a normal person twice over. She is also unnaturally strong, as you are about to find out.

She spins away from Dominic and lunges at Crowley and Sigmund in a flurry of claws and teeth. Crowley raises his guard quickly and struggles to hold the woman and her gnashing teeth, leaving himself open and feels a slash across his abdomen. Breaking free from him the woman spins towards Sigmund and in a display of incredible violence smashes aside the torch and sinks her clawed hand deep into the hunters shoulder. The pain is incredible, almost enough to make him pass out then and there, and brood immediately starts to spill out from the wound.

The beast laps at the blood on her hands, something resembling a twisted grin splitting her face.

Morgam stops attempting to hide himself and quickly heads away from the bridge after the refugees. He can only hope his comrades will be able to deal with whatever happens.

If the tattooed man or the girl with him notices the hunter following them they don't react. Other refugees break away from the group, heading towards alleys and sewers and ladders, but the tattooed man simply follows the road. Morgam loses sight of him for a moment around a particularly sharp sight on the road. Cautious, the hunter ducks to the corner of a building before moving around the bend. He lets out a sigh of relief - he hadn't lost him. The tattooed man has stopped in the street and grabbed another refugee by the throat, lifting him clear of the ground with only one hand (the other still clutching the hand of the young girl). Morgam quickly realizes there's no one else in the area anymore, the rest of the refugees must have fled elsewhere. The tattooed pulls the other refugee closer who, to his credit, does his best to struggle. That is, until the tattooed man whispers something into his ear. Then he stops and goes limp, his head lulling back and mouth clenched close. The tattooed man tosses the other refugee onto the cobblestone and turns to leave...

With a roar of pain Sigmund drops his torch and clutches his shoulder for a moment as his world explodes into white hot agony. He takes a deep breath and his vision returns to normal.

Gripping his sword in two hands, one on the guard and the other clutching the grip, he twists one wrist, releasing the lock on the guard. He pulls with his other hand, pulling the guard down and releasing another couple feet of steel, transforming his sword into a two-handed greatsword. He relocks the guard with another twist of his wrist and flicks a small trigger near the grip covering his sword in oil.

Hefting his sword into the air he swings once more at the creature with all his might attempting to take its head. He presses another trigger as the blade connects lighting the oil covering his sword in flames and burning the monster.

Morgam's blood runs cold as he witnesses the display of power from the tattooed man. He breaks out in a sweat as the refugee collapses to the ground. "That's no beast, but it ain't a friend." He thinks to himself, his resolve in sharp conflict with his desire to live.

He pauses in the shadows for just a moment, his blood like thin rivers of ice in his veins, his muscles aching in protest as the darkness seems to wrap around him.

The hunters close around the beast woman and bludgeon, shoot, and slice her until she is unable to stand, collapsing into a bloody heap. The refugees have all fled elsewhere by now and Morgam is still gone.

Morgam hides in the shadows to observe the situation. The tattooed man turns to leave, but stops and looks directly in Morgams direction. Behind him the male refugee begins to convulse in the same way that the woman on the bridge had. This prompts the tattooed man to turn away and continue up the road. The refugee, meanwhile, begins to transform just like the woman before. This time, though, the site is even more horrifying. His limbs elongate and face elongate painfully and his hands meld into claws. It only takes a few minutes before the refugee is replaced with the hulking form of a lycanthropic beast.

As the monster that was once a woman drops to the ground, dead, Sigmund takes a deep breath to try and get his heart back under control. He feels the adrenaline start to leave his system and when it does the deep wound in his shoulder starts to burn with pain.

Gritting his teeth against the pain, he returns his sword to its normal form and flicks it sharply to remove the burnt blood its covered in. Leaning it against the side of the bridge for the moment.

Drawing a couple of blood vials from pockets in his clothing, he stabs them both into either side of his thighs and presses down on both plungers.

He gives a sigh of relief as he feels the wound in his shoulder start to close.

Picking up his sword and still burning torch once more, Sigmund looks around and notices that the refugees are all gone but also that one of their number seems to be gone.

Turning to address Crowley and Dominic he asks.

''Did either of you see where Morgram went?''

With the 16 from the vials and the 6 from the blood ministration last turn that should bring my hp back up to 25.

"I was... *ah* ...a little busy." Sheathing his pistols, Dominic pulls a delicate snuffbox covered in bronze vines from his breast pocket and snorts a pinch of carmine powder. He looks down.

"Shame."

It's obvious he's talking about his clothes, not the woman.

Using one charge of Dominic's 'wand' of infernal healing.

The scourge beast immediately turns on Morgam. It's ears go flat against its head and it starts to stalk towards him. The hunter turns and starts running back the way he came. Glancing over his shoulder he is horrified to see the scourge beast break sprinting after him - and it's faster. If he doesn't do something quick it will definitely catch him before he makes it back to the bridge.

And it looks hungry.

Looking back and forth at the two sides of the bridge, Sigmund felt like kicking himself for his foolishness.

Of course Morgram wouldn't have run away from the city and unless he went over the bridge he must have chased some of the refugees running towards the city.

Locking eyes with Dominic for a moment he jerks his head towards the city.

''Come along Dominic, Morgram must have run towards the city and there may still be more beasts to be put down.''

Not pausing to see if the man is going to follow him or not he starts running down the road towards the city.

Sigmund and Dominic

You hear the loud retort of gunfire echo shatter the peaceful silence of Yharnams night. It doesn't sound far off.

Morgam
Alright, time for split second decisions? Are you committing to a fight? Are you trying to get away?

I'm not totally sure yet. I might do full defense if it ruins me with a full attack, or I might full attack it to try to end things quickly if it misses me, or I might try to run away if I can't seem to touch it.
What does the environment look like? Any places to vault to the roof?

There's some crates down an alleyway but you're risking that it may be a dead end if you can't get up.

Well then I'm out of here.
Morgam discards his empty pistol and turns to run down the alley, beast in hot pursuit. There was no way he'd escape it just by running, and even if he could the alley was a dead-end. But Morgam has a plan.

He makes for the crates and leaps up towards the roof.

Morgam bolts away just as the beast pinpoints his location, leaving an empty pistol and a pair of quicksilver bullets as a parting gift. He doesn't stick around long enough to check their effect. Bolting down the alley he nimbly jumps up the narrow space and pulls himself on a rooftop. Just in time he sees the beast come galloping down the alley after him.

Spooky Skeleton Scarecrow

The scourge beast is distracted fighting Morgam and Sigmund, it didn't expect the sudden appearance of a third hunter. Approaching from its flank Abula draws his greatsword - when he does all the lights in the area dim for just a split second. Even though you are caught up in a fight for your lives you can't help but feel your eyes drawn towards the inscriptions that run along the blade and how they seem to flicker strangely when you look at them.

The beast can do nothing to save itself. The great hunger blade hits it in the shoulder and keeps going, carving it all the way through. The upper torso flops sloppily onto the ground, separated from the rest of the body which stays standing for a few moments before it too shudders and collapses.

The beast is dead and Dominic may be following in short order. Blood is still pouring from his wounds at a worrying pace and his breathing is shallow and labored.

Combat over. Dominic, you can move around and interact even though you are in negatives. You're still not stabilized so don't try and fight.

Sparing a moment to nod at the newcomer, Sigmund turns his attention to Dominic.not sure where Domnic keeps his bloodvials, Sigmund reaches into a pocket and grabs one of his own. Plunging into Doninic's leg he presses down on the plunger.

Dominic's wounds stop bleeding, thoughtless still not in good shape, but he should live for the moment.

Turning to Morgram, Sigmund nods at him.

''Still alive old man?''

My health should now read 17 by the way. I healed 12 on my last attack from my rally.

"Urgh... who're you calling old?" Dominic fishes about for his snuff box and takes another pinch, snorting and coughing up flecks of blood. "Where did that thing come from?"
