Duglan hustles down the stairs. (you can move past Gromtheb, but because you went before Harris, you would have had no place to stop.
Harris moves to G0, drawing his sword.
Quinn follows, then casts silence. Complete silence falls around him.
Velinari draws his crossbow and moves behind a table.
Gromtheb fires twice, but misses with both shots.

Gromtheb and Duglan:
Since you haven't had a formal description yet, here's what you see:

It's Alaba, though her eyes blaze with red light, and her mouth is horribly distorted into a hungry maw, while her fingers are twisted claws of bone. She is still wrapped in her funeral dressings, thorougly soaked with blood.

From above, you hear Gordel call out Wha' in Gorum's name's goin' on dow' there? If tha bastard's come ba', yeh hold 'im fer me.

Alaba ignores those setting up in the room, and jogs towards the stairs, moving with an eerie smoothness. She hisses at Gromtheb and Duglan.

And here's a map!

Also, I want to thank you guys for get this back up and running with a bang! As you can see, we covered the last 50 posts in just 3 days, tied for the second-fastest rate of play in all my records. Keep it up!

Gromtheb confirm crit miss 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21 not confirmed

Male Human Bard (Sound Striker) 6

Harris runs to G-2 and shouts, "Not so fast!"

The air around Alaba shimmers with near-invisible sharpness as Harris's shout rends flesh.

Wierd Words attack 1: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20
Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Wierd Words attack 2: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20
Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Wierd Words attack 3: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29
Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Wierd Words attack 4: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (4) + 13 = 17
Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Wierd Words attack 5: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30
Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Wierd Words attack 6: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 19
Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

All attacks are slashing and resolve against touch AC. Each hit allows a separate DC 16 Fort save for half damage. As a supernatural ability, it is also not subject to any SR she may have.

"Duglan! Keep her from getting upstairs! Gromtheb, see to Gordel! Make sure nothing happens to him! The rest of you, keep her distracted, but DO NOT destroy her!"

Male Human Beguiler 6

If Weird Words has a verbal component you might want to step slightly farther away from Quinn.

Quinn delays until Alaba's next action, where he will move simultaneously with her, shadowing her as closely as possible. If necessary (including this next turn), he will immediately use his Anklet of Translocation to teleport 10 feet closer to her to keep her in the radius of the Silence effect. This is all Quinn does.

Sorry for silencing y'all, but I think the lack of cowering is worth it.

Male Half-Orc 6th Inquisitor

Gromtheb runs upstairs and you hear him yell "DID YOU MURDER ALABA?!"

DM:
Gromteb follows his fearless leader's direction and runs (4x move speed) into Gordel's room (swiftly removing the bane form his weapon and he moves). "DID YOU MURDER ALABA?!" he yells at the drunkard, his bow drawn and ready to fire on the man.

EDIT:

DM:
If Gordel answers, Gromtheb will use as an immediate action a round of discern lies.

Male Human Fighter 6

So... yeah... does Harris' attack outright kill it or drop it?

If it doesn't...:
Duglan steps forward to the bottom of the stairs (C-2) and takes two swings at Alaba (Power attack).

Attack 1:1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29
Damage 1:1d10 + 17 ⇒ (2) + 17 = 19
Attack 2:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Damage 2:1d10 + 17 ⇒ (6) + 17 = 23

If she classifies as an evil outsider, let me know so I can add on some d6's to that damage :)

If it does:
Duglan steps forward to the bottom of the stairs (C-2) and stands defensively, ready to strike in case she makes any sudden movement.

EDIT: Oh hai Gromtheb, nice to post the exact second as you :)

Haha. It does not kill her. Mwahahahahaha.

Male Human Rogue 3/ Alchemist-vivisectionist 2/ Shadow Dancer 1

Velinari shifts his weight to the balls of his feet. With the lithe of a dancer Velinari twirls producing a blade in his free hand, and in one swift motion strikes at the ethereal creature. Continuing his dance, another twirl brings him out of the creatures reach and next to the bannister.

Spring attack ending in [D,-2]:
Atk:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Dmg:1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Also, Duglan, you go before Harris.

Duglan steps to Alaba, his blade biting deep into her flesh.
Harris's words follow behind, shredding into her and opening half a dozen new wounds alongside the older ones.
Quinn teleports closer to Alaba, then keeps close by.
Velinari leaps at Alaba, and his blade finds something not at all ethereal.
Gromtheb runs upstairs.

Gromtheb:
You find Gordel hustling towards the stairs (map). He stops dead in his tracks when you draw your bow. I tol' yeh three times it weren't me! The bastard did it's downstairs, can' yeh see? He his not lying.

Downstairs, perception DC 15:
I tol' yeh three times it weren't me! The bastard did it's downstairs, can't yeh see?

Alaba slides under Duglan's guard and grabs at him with her claws. He staves off one of the attacks, but the other digs into his flesh, dealing 13 damage as she grabs on to him. (Duglan is now grappled, beat CMD 26 to escape).

Updated map

Things are getting dicey:

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
1d20 + 14 ⇒ (10) + 14 = 24
1d20 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 20
1d8 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
1d20 + 17 ⇒ (17) + 17 = 34

Male Human Bard (Sound Striker) 6

Seeing Duglan grabbed, Harris immediately bellows "Release him!"

Using liberating command as an immediate action at the end of DM's turn. Duglan may make an escape artist check as an immediate action with a +12 competence bonus. There is no requirement that the recipient be able to hear the caster, so...

Duglan spots a momentary opening in which he may be able to break free.

On his turn Harris casts disguise self to make himself appear to be Gordel and moves to J-4.

Disguise check: 1d20 + 12 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 12 + 10 = 39

Male Human Fighter 6

34/47 HP, while grappled, 10/14 Dex

Duglan attempts to take advantage of the sudden opening that Harris provides for him.
Escape Artist:1d20 + 12 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 12 + 2 - 2 = 18

This fails. Duglan struggles to get out of the grapple by brute force.
CMB:1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25

Sadly, this does not work as well. Duglan gets the sense that if he had pushed "1 roll" higher, he would have gotten out of that mess.

Male Half-Orc 6th Inquisitor

Does Duglan get an AAO for the grapple? Just thought I would ask...

"Alaba is downstairs, back from the dead. She has come to kill you."
Gromtheb shifts to the top of the stairs and fires twice at the undead monster holding Duglan.

Attack 1: 1d20 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 8 - 2 = 12
Damage 1: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Attack 2: 1d20 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 8 - 2 = 24
Damage 2: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

Male Human Bard (Sound Striker) 6

Not if she has the grab ability.

Male Human Rogue 3/ Alchemist-vivisectionist 2/ Shadow Dancer 1

As Velinari continues his deadly dance, the flicker of the room seems to play tricks on your eyes. The faint shadows cast from the fireplace seem to move towards Velinari, as if being collected by his movements, slowly at first but then more rapidly the shadows seem to obscure him from view, making him all but disappear.

Stealth:1d20 + 18 ⇒ (13) + 18 = 31

Perception DC 31:

Velinari jump through the stair's banister, in a parkour esque style. Swinging himself into [C,-3]

Acrobatics:1d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 32

Oops, kept waiting for Quinn, forgetting he'd just continue doing what he'd been doing.

Harris, your command does not work. Because Alaba is in the area of Silence, both she and Duglan are unaware of your attempt. And no, no AoOs.

Duglan struggles, but is unable to break free of Alaba's grasp.
Harris looks a hell of a lot like Gordel.
Velinari vanishes from sight.

Gromtheb... I have no idea how to adjudicate this one, given that there's a (basically) invisible Velinari in your shot that you don't know to aim around. So I'm going to say that there's a 30% chance that each attack will target him instead. And because she's in grapple, I'm applying my usual 20% chance you target Duglan (precise shot negates penalties from melee, but not from grapple). I know both of these are home-rules, but this is my home and I rule. :-P

1d100 ⇒ 34
1d100 ⇒ 90
First shot targets Alaba but misses.

1d100 ⇒ 72
1d100 ⇒ 71
Second shot targets Alaba and hits. You're a lucky man.

Gromtheb:
Gordel looks bewildered for a moment, then his face hardens with resolve. I've fought th' undead afore. 'Tain't her, jus' a beast in her body. We kin destroy it so as she's at peace. He moves to -G16 (right next to you and looks down the stairs.

Alaba attempts to throw Duglan out of her path, but he manages to hold his ground. Then she looks up and sees Gordel at the top of the stairs, and her mouth opens in a silent shriek of rage.

The tree outside Alaba's window is DICEiduous:

Perception 1d20 + 33 ⇒ (7) + 33 = 40

CMB 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (2) + 17 = 19

CMB:1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13

Male Human Rogue 3/ Alchemist-vivisectionist 2/ Shadow Dancer 1

Ready an action to attack from stealth Alaba is she comes within attack range (i.e. trys to move up the stair)

Male Human Bard (Sound Striker) 6

Eh, was worth a shot.

Harris dismisses the disguise self and moves to G-3.

Male Half-Orc 6th Inquisitor

Gromtheb swiftly judges justly (for a +2 on all attack rolls, bonus to saves is gone) that he aught to summon spiritual help. "Gorum! To our aid!" he prays. As he does so, a great weapon of force appears at attacks the zombie:

Attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
Crit Fumble: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30 why couldn't those rolls be reversed?!
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

He then moves down the stairs and stands over his sword.

Duglan and Alaba continue to struggle, neither gaining the upper hand.
Harris approaches the fray.
Velinari readies himself to strike.
Gromtheb casts a spell, then moves down the stairs.

Gordel shifts on to the top of the stairs. He looks sorrowfully down at Alaba.

Gromtheb and Harris:
Ahm sorry, darlin', but it ain't you anymore.

Alaba, clearly enraged, picks up Duglan and bodily throws him off the staircase. (10 damage) Recovering quickly, she charges at Gromtheb, but Velinari appears out of nowhere, blocking her path and slashing at her with his knife, though it skids off her unnaturally tough skin.

Of Dice and Men:

CMB 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (18) + 23 = 41
Constrict 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Velinari attack 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12

Map

Male Human Rogue 3/ Alchemist-vivisectionist 2/ Shadow Dancer 1

Let's get ready to tumble

Velinari uses the advantages he has of higher ground and the stairs to once more strike out at Alba

Atk:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
dmg:1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Seeing Alba's charge Velinari attempts to move out of the way with cat like grace, dancing around to [C,-1]

Acrobatics:1d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14

Note mobility, so +4 to AC against attacks of opportunity

Male Human Bard (Sound Striker) 6

Harris steps forward to E-2 and speaks another volley of verbal razors into existence, directing them at Alaba once more.

Weird Words attack 1: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (20) + 13 = 33
Crit confirmation: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14
Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Weird Words attack 2: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16
Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Weird Words attack 3: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (4) + 13 = 17
Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Weird Words attack 4: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (18) + 13 = 31
Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Weird Words attack 5: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18

Weird Words attack 6: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20
Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

You know the drill - slashing, target touch, each hit allows DC 16 fort save for half damage from that hit.

Male Human Rogue 3/ Alchemist-vivisectionist 2/ Shadow Dancer 1

If they are sonic damage, idk if they will work into an area of silence

Male Human Bard (Sound Striker) 6

We'll find out!

Male Human Fighter 6

HP: 24/47

Duglan brushes himself off and turns to face Alaba. (Am I prone right now from being thrown? If so, move action to stand up. If not, full power attack.)

Attack 1:1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28
Damage 1:1d10 + 17 ⇒ (6) + 17 = 23
Attack 2:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Damage 2:1d10 + 17 ⇒ (5) + 17 = 22

If attack 2 isn't applicable, don't count it :)

Also, I just noticed that my fauchard may be on the ground. If that is the case, I will grab it for the move action.

Duglan, who landed on his feet, grabs his fauchard. I could be a b@$+~ here and say it's in C-2 to C-1, but instead I'll say it's in C-2 to D-2, and thus you can grab it without shifting. He attacks Alaba, his mighty blow sending her reeling.
Harris launches sonic blades at Alaba, but they wink out of existence upon encountering the edge of Quinn's spell. (Also, Duglan is in E-2, so I'm putting you in E-3)
Velinari attacks again, but Alaba barely manages to parry, and as he springs around her, she grabs at him, though Velinari adeptly dodges just outside her reach.

Attack 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16

Perception or Sense Motive DC 16:
Despite the several wounds inflicted to Alaba, she seems to be ignoring them completely.

Male Human Bard (Sound Striker) 6

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21

DM:
Like "they're injuring her but she's really friggin' tough" ignoring them or like "normal weapons can't hurt her" ignoring them? If so, which? If the latter, where can we find a rocket launcher to hit her with?

Male Human Fighter 6

Perception1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23

Hooooooo boy

In the heat of the battle, Duglan experiences a troubling thought. "Sumthins wrong."

DM:
Okay. So, to clarify what you mean, do you mean that A) there are no wounds left on her person, B) that they are present but she is ignoring them despite the fact that they have damaged her, C) or that the wounds we have inflicted have had no effect on her whatsoever? ANSWER IF YOU DARE :)

Male Human Rogue 3/ Alchemist-vivisectionist 2/ Shadow Dancer 1

Arg!! Better that cowering, I suppose... Also, why is Gromtheb the only thing standing between the monster and Gordel?!

"Gordel! Run! Get out of here if you want to live! The tree outside Alaba's window perhaps! Don't worry, she can't hear us! Go!"

Gromtheb's bow shimmers again (Bane undead, 4/6 rounds left) and he fires two shots at the monster.

attack 1:1d20 + 7 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 7 + 1 + 2 = 30

Crit confrim: 1d20 + 7 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 7 + 1 + 2 = 18 (probably doesn't confirm...)

Clarification of last spoiler:
In short, you suspect you could tie her down and beat on her for hours and she'd keep coming back for more.

I'll take GM turn this evening when I get back from lab.

Male Human Fighter 6

Well, despite all of this, Duglan is going to keep on swinging, because why not? Hoping for some kind of massive damage b!~$!*!&, or tons of crits, etc.

Male Human Beguiler 6

Quinn's still doin' his thang. Unless you all want to signal to him that he should stop.

Male Half-Orc 6th Inquisitor

On second thought, perhaps I should have ran up the stairs and cast invisibility on Gordel.... Waitin' on DM :)

Gromtheb's first arrow takes Alaba takes Alaba square in the chest, but heedless of it she deflects the second out of the air, though this allows the shimmering blade of force to score a hit on her back.

Male Human Beguiler 6

Quinn dismisses the Silence and backs away from Alaba.

Male Half-Orc 6th Inquisitor

Can we get a map?

Male Human Fighter 6

Duglan unceremoniously spits out some blood onto the corpse. He seems somewhat relieved to be able to speak out loud again. "Nezessery? Yeh bet yer ass it was nezessery. Tha b*~~& was tryna kill meh an tha resta us."

He then takes a step towards Gordel, finger pointed accusedly. "You. Yeh got anneh reason fer why yer daughter would come back from th'dead hopin to bring yeh to the grave along wit th'rest of us?"

Having spoken his mind, he reaches at his belt for a small vial, uncaps it, and chokes down its contents.
Lesser Vigor ==> Over the next 11 rounds, Duglan is healed from 24 to 35 HP

Male Half-Orc 6th Inquisitor

Gromtheb dismisses the bane on his bow (3 round remaining) and picks up his greatsword, puts away his bow, and walks over to Alaba, ready to strike her is she gets up (not a readied action, just ready to take an AOO) "We need to restrain this anathema and fast. I don't think that it is going to stay down for long."

Alaba decapitated, we'll go off initiative for now.

Gordel responds Th' hells iff'n I know! Undead e'er got reason fer annythin'?

Male Human Rogue 3/ Alchemist-vivisectionist 2/ Shadow Dancer 1

Velinari awkwardly stares at Gordel, not responding

Male Human Bard (Sound Striker) 6

"Fascinating as the abomination may have been, Velinari, I don't believe this to be the time or place for study," Harris says evenly before turning to Gordel. "In any case, your daughter seems to have become a type of undead called a revenant. Such beings tirelessly pursue vengeance on those who slew them. Now, for whatever reason, she seemed to become enraged when she saw you. So either you killed her or her killer somehow impersonated you when he, she, or it killed her." He pauses, thinking. "Unless a spellcaster capable of creating and controlling undead creatures is trying to create the impression that one or both of the above scenarios is the case. Either way, we need to find out who or what is really behind this."

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32

Male Human Bard (Sound Striker) 6

That diplomacy check was intended to approach Gordel with a conciliatory tone so that he might be inclined to help us, by the way.

Male Human Rogue 3/ Alchemist-vivisectionist 2/ Shadow Dancer 1

poke

Well ah sure as th' planes above didn' kill mah own daughter. An ain't no spellcasters here 'cepting you all an th' Father, so unless you's did it I'm guessin' I was impersonated.

Speakin' o' the Father, someone should go an' get him, t' lay her soul t' rest all over again. Damn... It just don't end, do it?

Male Human Bard (Sound Striker) 6

"Seems that way. Gromtheb, you and I should go get the priest. The rest of you should stay here, protect Gordel and the inn, and keep that thing from doing anything."
