Thanks! I added the loot from the bandit stash that was trapped (post 149) and from the 3 bandits we ambushed in the stables (post 356). If anyone else can think of other loot we saved for later, please feel free to add to the list.
Any chance we can identify all the poison we found? (Post 564)
2 vials of poison on Rohkar
1 vial of poison inside the dagger with hidden compartment
2 vials of poison in the storeroom
Anyone like using poison? I actually think it's best used by ranged combat builds. Coat some arrows in poison, and draw them when you want to. But there's always that unfortunate risk of poisoning yourself. If nobody's using it, we can just sell it.
Black Tom
Tessarea Willowbark is more than willing to help you identify the poisons and buy them off you in case you don't want them. Rohkar had two vials of oil of taggit. In the storeroom were two doses of greenblood oil and the dagger contains small centipede poison.

Agree we need healing wands, and we have the funds for it. I recall we tried to buy a healing wand but there was only a Wand of Magic Weapon and a Scroll of Aid. Any chance we were able to get a curative wand in town by special order by now?
Ingrit
The best thing about having a healing wand would be having 3 people who could use it in a pinch, (4 if Damianao invests in UMD), so if the person carrying it gets dropped we have options.
I guess I'd be willing to risk the 5% chance and take the poisons. Since my favored enemy is human it makes sense even for a ranger.
Domitian Olavsgaard
@Ingrit - the poisons are yours. Note that the oil of taggit is an ingested poison and thus less useful; up to you if you want to keep it or just sell it for a little extra change.
@Everyone - Please add items and gold to your inventory, if you haven't done so already.
Below is a loot distribution for everyone. I handed everyone one of the 10 Alchemist's Fire, and took an extra one for myself. I handed out the Oil of Magic Weapon to the primary martial characters (Domitian / Ingrit / Tacey), and the two Scrolls of Magic Weapon to the arcane casters (Damiano / Erland). There are a few leftover items that people should claim: 3 extra alchemist's fire, a scroll of Unseen Servant, and a scroll of Endure Elements.
I sold everything else that doesn't seem useful. I set aside 750 gp, which is going straight to a healing wand for the party, whenever we manage to get one. The remaining gold is 1409.68, which divided 5 ways is 281.93 and 3 extra copper which I distribute arbitrarily. I left out Tacey this time because she's Level 3 and wasn't part of the party yet. But she'll be included in the future.
Ingrit: Masterwork Longsword (Dom is giving this back to you), 2 Oil of Taggit, Small Centipede Poison, 2 Greenblood Oil, Oil of Magic Weapon, Alchemist's Fire, 281.94 gp.
Tacey: Masterwork Studded Leather Armor, Masterwork Short Sword, Masterwork Thieves' Tools, Silver Dagger with hidden compartment, Oil of Magic Weapon, Alchemist's Fire.
Domitian: Cloak of the Yeti, Oil of Magic Weapon, Alchemist's Fire x2, 281.93 gp
Eianar: Alchemist's Fire, 281.94 gp
Damiano: Spellbook (alarm, chill touch, expeditious retreat, feather fall, identify, locate object, ray of enfeeblement), 281.93 gp.
Erland: Scroll of Magic Weapon, Alchemist's Fire, 281.94 gp.
General pool - up for grabs: Alchemist's Fire x3, Scroll of Unseen Servant, Scroll of Endure Elements.
I take responsibility for any accounting errors - just tell me about them and we'll get it fixed.

Do we wait for wand or set off after the portal ...
Eianar would go after the portal, get the wand later ...
If we go to the portal... are we likely to be coming back to Heldren? I would say we should wait to see what happen at the portal until we know we can get a little down time to arrange delivery of a wand ...
In which case, how many potions can Erland make in a day?
Which brings me to Eianar, at 3rd level, should he get scribe scroll or augment summoning, I'm a little undecided ... I had planned AS, but having scrolls of CLW etc might be more beneficial ... hmmm!
Erland Frey
Unfortunately, I can make exactly 1 potion a day.
Thanks for doing the loot distribution, Domitian!
I'll grab one of those extra Alch Fires to replace my thrown one, and the scroll of unseen servant. I can teach that to Fiske for future use.
Domitian Olavsgaard
How many days do we lose waiting for a wand? If it's a day, let's wait. If it's more, let's head out, with plans to return.
Damiano Delstrego
I will take the scroll of Endure Elements as I seem the only one who can use it at the moment
Spellcraft check for Spellbook (alarm, chill touch, expeditious retreat, feather fall, identify, locate object, ray of enfeeblement)
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 131d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 211d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 161d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 201d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 281d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 251d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
all spells except Alarm understood , Ray of Enfeeblement and Locate Object transferred in my spellbook

I don't really have a handle on the rules for being cold, so I had a couple of questions.
If we all buy tents, is that good enough to avoid having to make fortitude checks while sleeping outside? Looks like a tent is 10gp.
Also, a lot of us have Northern Ancestry for Cold Resist 2. Is that good enough to endure the cold overnight?
Ingrit
Nope. Northern Ancestry means that if it gets to the point of taking damage, you take less.
Tent's would provide a bonus to the survival check needed to give us a bonus to the Fort saves. This AP is pretty brutal with making it clear how easy it is to die outdoors in the dead of winter.
Even my other trait only gives a bonus:
Frostborn:
Long nights in the frigid winters of the north have inured you to cold.
Benefit: You gain a +4 trait bonus on any savings throws made to resist the effects of cold environments, as well as a +1 trait bonus on all saving throws against cold effects.
Cold rules.
Cold and exposure deal nonlethal damage to the victim. A character cannot recover from the damage dealt by a cold environment until she gets out of the cold and warms up again. Once a character has taken an amount of nonlethal damage equal to her total hit points, any further damage from a cold environment is lethal damage.
An unprotected character in cold weather (below 40° F) must make a Fortitude save each hour (DC 15, +1 per previous check) or take 1d6 points of nonlethal damage. A character who has the Survival skill may receive a bonus on this saving throw and might be able to apply this bonus to other characters as well (see the skill description).
In conditions of severe cold or exposure (below 0° F), an unprotected character must make a Fortitude save once every 10 minutes (DC 15, +1 per previous check), taking 1d6 points of nonlethal damage on each failed save. A character who has the Survival skill may receive a bonus on this saving throw and might be able to apply this bonus to other characters as well. Characters wearing a cold weather outfit only need check once per hour for cold and exposure damage.
A character who takes any nonlethal damage from cold or exposure is beset by frostbite or hypothermia (treat her as fatigued). These penalties end when the character recovers the nonlethal damage she took from the cold and exposure.
Extreme cold (below –20° F) deals 1d6 points of lethal damage per minute (no save). In addition, a character must make a Fortitude save (DC 15, +1 per previous check) or take 1d4 points of nonlethal damage.
Other than magic like endure elements, the only way to aviod having to make checks is a feat:
Rugged Northerner
You live a hard life in a cold climate and gain some benefit from it.
Prerequisite: Con 13, Survival 1 rank.
Benefit: You treat extreme cold conditions as severe cold, and severe cold as cold weather conditions. You are not impacted at all by normal cold weather conditions. In addition, you do not become fatigued by frostbite or hypothermia.
So cold weather you don't make any checks at all
Ingrit
Yeah, like I said brutal.
Damiano Delstrego
Thus the importance of Cold-Weather Outfit: This outfit includes a wool coat, linen shirt, wool cap, heavy cloak, thick pants or skirt, and boots. This outfit grants a +5 circumstance bonus on Fortitude Saving Throws against exposure to cold weather.
The rules also speak of 'unprotected characters'. Many think that sleeping in a tent with a heavy blanket means you are protected . Some vicious DMs don't :) And the character on guard outside might not be if there is no fire to huddle against...
There might also be a problem if your clothes become wet. So no rolling in the snow or falling down ...
If I remember rightly, there was a controversy when the AP was published because the rules therein were harsher that the ones in the normal rules and Paizo said it was an error . Normal rules apply so
commoners in Irrisen can leave their homes and not die in the street :)
Ingrit
There's a big difference between walking through the streets in a town and camping in the forest or an open plain during snowfall. Yeah the Cold-Weather Outfit is absolutely vital. And yeah don't get wet, that's a kiss of death.
Domitian Olavsgaard
Eianar's suggestion is fine. I'll take yet another one for 3 total, and Ingrit can take the last one.
Ingrit
1st night working at a new facility. Will post when I get the chance

I think the fairies stopped believing in Tacey. :(
Black Tom
So I have had some time to process and the best I can do is to offer Derz the opportunity of rolling up another character. In that case, I'll try to get you into the game ASAP. You will start at level 2 with your current hero points.
I assure you that this was in no way planned. Just a fluke of the dice. That's one of the reasons that I use hero points, but unfortunately you haven't had the time to accumulate enough of them yet.
If you choose to continue you are very welcome. I appreciate what you've done with Tacey.

Just realized you updated your status bar, Tacey. That's a good one.
Eianar Drudsson
Looking forward to a new Tacey, Taceytwoo .... :-)
Whilst I'm here, just want to check you are all happy and understanding Eianar's language. I know it's easier for me, but any where English isn't your first language might have difficulty with his language.
Damiano Delstrego
While English is not my native language , I easily understand it
I wince each time seiing how you are misusing it though (:)
Still I understand this is how you choose to depict Eianar and I can deal with this as a player
Still do not be surprised if a civilized taldane city people looks down on you sometimes ...
Ingrit
If it's a longer sentence I tend to skim over it without reading it actually, because honestly it gives me a headache. But I get the character choice, and as long as you're having fun it's all good.
Domitian Olavsgaard
It's all Greek to me!
No, just kidding. I understand it all, and think it's good.
Khristov
Ok, repurposed an old alias for a game that died.
Went shopping and stuff, mostly done and ready to jump back in wherever convenient.
Black Tom
Down with the flu here. Will update game as soon as I'm feeling a little better, hopefully in a day or so.
About Khristov, I think the best way of getting him into the game is if you decide to go back to the lodge and rest. Let's say that he's heard of Lady Argentea trying to get some troops together but that he's an old friend (or something) of Damiano's or Domitian's and prematurely rushed off to help his friends, catching up with you at the lodge but ahead of the rest of the posse. Hope that works for you snd that you can work on what kind of history you might have until I'm back.
Eianar Drudsson
Get well soon BT .... if nothing else have a hot toddy, whiskey (or spirit of choice) with honey, fruit squash and hot water. Even if it doesn't cure, its warming and comforting.
I'd go with your idea for Khristov, another townee is always welcome ... ;-)
Domitian Olavsgaard
Feel better, Black Tom!
We're all at the lodge now, so Kristov can make his appearance!
Khristov
Oh my god, I don't know what the deuce happened, but I just got notifications that there were new posts on this campaign now. I thought we had paused waiting for Tom to come back like two weeks ago.
Domitian Olavsgaard
Pretty good timing I'd say.
