You can't find any traps or anything else to cause concern.

One of the wooden shields is similar to the ones carried by the tiny wooden soldiers (that they used to bash you with), and is decorated with Ancient Osirian hieroglyphs spelling out the name "Akhentepi" and marking the soldiers as ones under his command. The other wooden shield doesn't look Osirian at all. The steel shield is masterwork and shaped like a scarab. The shortbow is lacking a string but looks otherwise serviceable.

Knowledge (geography) 12:
The foreign shield is probably of Mwangi manufacture.

Seeing there are no traps, Fleur will pick a random chest and break the seal, opening it cautiously before peering inside curiously.

She does comment on the odd shield though... [b]"THat's unusual, I don't recognize the design of it.. or on it.

The chest Fleur opens contains a sack with 100 gp and 42 sp.

"Well, that's just coins... hmmm... I wonder if they are old enough to be considered of historical value... " She examines the coinage and if they are not old enough or unusual enough, she moves on to the other chest to examine its contents. As fascinated as she is with the amount of money, she doesn't seem as interested in looting the tomb for coins as much as for history.

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Fleur has more luck (by her own reckoning) with the other chests, since these contain several scroll tubes holding papyrus records, private memos, expense ledgers, speeches, and private correspondence. Among the papers are discussions regarding the unfinished tomb of Akhentepi’s mistress whom he met as a widower and planned to marry and provide with a resting space next to his own. The papers are pretty mundane but could be of value to a committed Osirionologist.

Fleur is fascinated with the documents and carefully replaces them in their tubes and puts the tubes in her pack... "Now THESE are cool.. very historically interesting... I'm sure at least a collector might want them... "

by now, I'm sure someone else has opened the jar so just because I'm home and have time to type, I'll leave that for someone else to have done, unless no one else is interested.

Inmir glances at some of the documents over Fleur's shoulder as she scans through them.

Very interesting. I wonder if Akhentepi's mistress ever ended up being interred here?

It's all interesting actually. Even the memos and ledgers can tell us lots about life back then. I hope everyone is careful with these things...

Despite his earnest interest in the items in question, Inmir restrains himself from rushing in to open anything, preferring to let those more experienced take the lead.

Luuther's mouth gapes in surprise as Fleur dismisses the coin as "Just coins", and begins to scoop them up into one of his sacks. "I'm sure most of the rest of us are at least interested in this coin".

He then inspects the jar carefully for any markings or symbols, before taking his dagger, and carefully loosening the wax seal.

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Heartened by Fleur's declaration that the doors are not trapped, you gingerly push them open and head down the stairs, where you pass another set of doors (also not trapped according to Fleur). You enter another 20 square room.

A massive mirror stretches across the southern wall of this chamber, flanked by two statues. The statue to the east depicts a tall, gaunt woman in a flowing, hooded gown, holding an hourglass. The figure to the west is that of a jackal-headed man carrying a scepter or staff in his hand. Stone double doors, standing slightly ajar, lead to the east and west. A third set of double doors exits the room to the north. Torch holders sculpted in the shape of bird skulls are built in each corner, and a thin layer of dust covers every surface.

The lady to the right is Pharasma, as Inmir can tall you.

Knowledge (religion) 20:
The figure to the west is Anubis, ancient Osirian god of burials and tombs.

Visible exits are right and left (stone doors standing ajar).

Inmir steps slowly forward, pointing his spear at the jackal headed statue. There stands Anubis, god of tombs in the ancient world, one of the great of the gods of that time.

He stops before the other statue and falls to his knees. And this... this is the Lady of Graves herself. She who we must all face in the end. For it is her judgement that will send each of us to our reward when our time in this life is over

With that he bows his head before the statue in silent prayer.

No, of course Talin would recognize his patron.

As the two pause in contemplation you notice something odd in the mirror: among you in the reflection stands a human man with bronzed skin in his forties, wearing white ceremonial robes and a headdress. From the various carvings you recognize his as Akhentepi himself. You all seem to be wearing a stern and disapproving expression.

I saw it but wasn't quite sure how to respond... ...

Fleur walks closer to the mirror to get a closer look at the image of Akhentepi. She is curious, too, as to why she looks so stern and disapproving in the mirror since she doesn't feel she has that expression on her face.

"Check for traps," Duriel suggests.

Apologies for the delay - work unexpectedly got in the way of everything last night.

Finishing his prayer, Inmir glances up, and for the first time, sees his reflection in the mirror.

Odd... is that how I look? I seem so ... angry? I don't feel that way... prayer usually makes me feel happy

Standing up from in front of the statue of Pharasma, he takes a moment to brush the dust off his robes from where he had been kneeling on the floor, watching out of the corner of his eye as his reflection does the same. Then he moves over to stand in front of the mirror. Looking close at his image in the mirror, he carefully and deliberately smiles at it. Seeing his image continue to glare at him, he takes an involuntary, startled step back from the mirror.

Astonishing... the mirror seems enchanted in some way to change our images. Possibly just some form of warning to tomb robbers. But maybe more ... we should be careful around it.

Stepping back from the mirror, he glances at Duriel as the Paladin makes his suggestion. Then, turning back to Fleur he casts Guidance on her to assist her in case she is about to search for traps.
