Well, technically, I said they might walk, not that I wouldn't rough them up first. And I didn't hear any swords hitting the ground. And, of course, it was a lucky shot, and of the chances to take, I didn't want to try to get them to back off after taking a shot that might go embarrassingly wide. So there. :)
(Machaera does have a Wisdom penalty, after all. It seemed like a good idea at the time...)
Just letting everyone know that my posting has been crap due to finals and the holiday. Please forgive me! I've got a paper due Sunday night and I've only really gotten into the "notes" stage. I'll post again asap.
As a side note, I've sent Mervyn a message to see if he's still in the game since he's not posted since the 12th. I'd hate to see him go, but if we don't hear something soon we'll have to assume he's out and move on without him.

Thanks for letting us know, and no worries - real life comes first. I'm in more or less the same boat: no holiday up here in the frozen North, but so many papers and presentations to get ready this weekend and next week. Calistria have mercy on us all!

I still have one final left to take, but I'll do that tomorrow. Probably. Anyway, I haven't heard anything back from Mervyn so I think it's safe to say that he has backed out of the game. That's unfortunate. However, since he was more of an "extra" player than anything else, I don't feel like we need to replace him.
Agreed. On another note, this is exactly how I envision a fight in heavy snow to look like when most of those involved aren't used to it. lol
Mervyn contacted me, apologized for his absence. Said things got really busy at work, but he'd be available again more regularly after the 4th of next month. He wants to come back, but I leave it to you guys to decide. Send me a PM if you don't want to publicly cast a vote.

Just popping in here to gloat off-topic: my exams and papers for the term are done! I have one last exam to proctor this evening, helping out the TAs for one of the huge classes in our department, and then I get to go home for the holidays. It's nice to see some free time opening up for a week or so.

Belated best wishes for the holidays, everyone! (It is only a few days into the twelve of Christmas, right?) I hope you're all enjoying some time with friends and family before a likely start to the new year. One of my profs. is being very generous - he's promised to send his students some readings in the next few days for the first week of class for next semester! :)

I'm sorry, I've just got back out to the provinces to my uni, and spent a couple of days running around making sure that my apartment was in order and had something in the pantry. First week of classes this semester, so still a lot of figuring out to do about what my schedule will actually look like, but I should be able to post regularly again now.
How would you guys feel about merging with my other RoW campaign?
I have no objection. I suppose Snjorinn and Fizzlewhisk have disappeared, then? It's a pity - I thought they were fun. Ah, well. Are the two campaigns close enough in where they are that we don't need to worry too much about retconning, and is the other group small enough for us not to make a chore of it? We wouldn't want to make running things too annoying for you!
I don't know about Snjorinn, but yeah Fizzlewhisk is gone. The other group is at the same location but have already begun fighting. They've had losses recently, too. It might be a bit unwieldy at first, but I think in the end it will make things easier for me and in turn, for everyone.
I'd be cool with it!

They're a little further than you. I don't want to confuse things in game too much, since you will have spoken to the same people and been sent on the same mission. It might take some creative work, but we can assume maybe that you guys either left late or fell behind. IDK. Honestly my brain's not functioning at the moment. One of the other players from that campaign just bailed on that one and the Carrion Crown game (Ioann) I run. So... yeah. Why don't you guys hop on over to that discussion thread and say hello. I like the name of this thread better, but it will be easier since they're ahead to use that one instead.
