Game Master baldwin the merciful

This is Council of Thieves AP. Westcrown, City of Twilight, once was the center of Aroden's faith, but now it symbolizes despair. By day, the city remains a vibrant center of trade; but, by night only those with a death wish venture out.

All this talk about raisin. Ye ever think they might not WANT te come back. They died in service, especially Duncan. I'd be right pissed if I were up there, drinkin the mead with me god an ye called me back from Paradise.

That is why we will ASK. If Duncan is dead set on staying dead then so be it, but I want him back here with us even if he is just forging away at Grumm's.

Besides, perhaps he would like to be a Godparent.

Ermolos died fighting but it was a stupid fight that should have never happened and he had his whole life ahead of him. Duncan..well I don't know how old he was but he lived long, Ermolos was young and deserves a chance to grow older and perhaps tell his family about how he helped Westcrown become shadow-free.

Godparent? Girl I ain't even shagged ye yet. Bit early to be talkin about little bastards runnin a round. Bwahaha!

Andrea tweaks Grimm's beard. I mean to Emily. You would not know of her but Fiosa and I adopted her when we found her living in a basement with her friends. Is it that surprising? Two woman taking in a child? One woman a Halfling in Cheliax no less? Andrea smirks. The ultimate middle finger to the ruling class.

Andrea looks more serious. I have been worried sick wondering what will happen if I die and can't return. So why not ask Duncan to take up a new duty for himself and be a guiding hand for Emily? A grumbling, ale swigging curdgemon he is, but he would be there and guard her with his life if need be. No better choice I could think of.

You can keep your money at the Exchange if need be. How much closer are you to your goal?

Evil GM

John you arrive back at you mentor's house there are several Hellknights there but noticeably absent is Lictor Vidoc (the leader) and his high ranking staff. Apparently their is less pomp the second time around. Your mentor nods and motions you into the training yard.

You observe the weapon rack again, the Hellknights all follow grabbing their helmets and weapons. They take their position.

Your mentor presents you to the Hellknight presiding over the ceremony. The presiding official repeats the previous oath to you and receives your declarations. He adds, "Failure a second time is announcement that you are unworthy of service, do you understand."

Do we get to talk to Gerald about the lawyer? I don't want to get hit by Truk.

Evil GM

Gerald put you in touch with the lawyer. Is there something else you needed him to do?

Fire Resist 10 Human Cleric 6,HP 40/40,Init+5F6R4W9,Per10AC18/11/17

Andrea meets with the lawyer about arranging a bribe for Orn's release.

Andrea meets with the lawyer and presents her wishes

I wish to set up an arrangement for Orn's release. For his imprisonment to be deemed adequate for his crime and released so he can become a productive citizen again.

Andrea is couching her words in order to appeal to those who hold the keys to Orn.(Also since offering an outright bribe is calls for a beating no doubt.)

No doubt Orn is eager to be gainfully employed once again at another establishment. His.. chastizing by the Hellknights was no doubt a great
incentive to do so.

Evil GM

Who is with you Andrea at the lawyer's and is this before or after Gruum's?

Fire Resist 10 Human Cleric 6,HP 40/40,Init+5F6R4W9,Per10AC18/11/17

Orsin. Grimm is drinking some ale outside. :) Before Grumm's, we'll head there after meeting with the lawyer.

Male Elven Diviner 2 Init:6, Perception:9, AC: 13/13/10, Saves: 1/3/3 (+2 enchantments & immune to sleep), HP:15/15

Faelyn winks at Khazrae. You can have whatever you wish mon amie! I will be back shortly.

Faelyn heads to the library. Something is going on. There is an arcane power at work in Westcrown...a powerful necromancer. I need to prepare my mind.

To himself: I wonder what the Erinyes meant about my familiar?

Evil GM

The waiting room of this large stately office is extravagant even by Westcrown's standards. The floors and walls are a highly polished flame colored marble that seems to move with the light. The walls are adorned with fine artwork dating back to the House of Thrune's rise to power. There are two huge statues on either side of the massive waiting room. One statue is chiseled our of mithral while the other is chiseled from icestone.

As single receptionist sits are a grand desk, behind her is a double door crafted out of a gorgeous mahogany wood.

A seductive looking half-elf peers up from her desk, "May I help you?

Fire Resist 10 Human Cleric 6,HP 40/40,Init+5F6R4W9,Per10AC18/11/17

Andrea nods. Greetings. I am Andrea and this is Orsin Bessatte. We were referred here by Gerald from the Westcrown Exchange in order to speak to a lawyer about arranging for the release of someone who has been incarcerated by The Rack.

Evil GM

Mr and Mrs. Orsin Bessatte have a seat someone will be with you shortly.

Evil GM

A quarter of a bell later a tall elf appears, wearing fine clothing," Mr and Mrs Bassette follow me." He then leads you down a hall and into a decadent office that overlooks the city. The office has a huge but oddly shaped pale green metal statue against one wall.

There an attractively dressed female with her back to you looking outside.

F Half-elf NPC/Expert/Librarian

"Hello Faelyn Sindrel," the cheery voice says from you behind you as you walk up the library steps. "Seeking knowledge? You haven't been around much." The pretty young librarian with the ponytail and glasses smiles.

Male Elven Diviner 2 Init:6, Perception:9, AC: 13/13/10, Saves: 1/3/3 (+2 enchantments & immune to sleep), HP:15/15

At the sound of the familiar voice, a smile crosses the elven conjurer's face. He turns to meet the gaze of the librarian. It has been too long Melissaa. He reaches out to shake the young lady's hand. I am seeking information on necromancy. What it takes to make undead. Not for myself of course. Faelyn gives a mischievous smile.

F Half-elf NPC/Expert/Librarian

"You have...interesting topics of research," She nods at the people manning the front desk of the library. She leads you to some basic books of necromancy. "This is the basic premise then...it get more complicated are you looking for anything specific or the basics?"

We live in an interesting city. He states matter-of-factly. I have some knowledge of necromancy. I studied the basics at the Acadamae. I am looking for specifics on creating undead from common monsters. For example, how could one turn a dragon turtle into an undead creature and what would be the benefit.

Fire Resist 10 Human Cleric 6,HP 40/40,Init+5F6R4W9,Per10AC18/11/17

Andrea gives a smile. I am not married to Mr. Bessate here, although such an arrangement would not be disagreeable to me. We are both patrons of the establishment where our friend was employed. Andrea makes it clear that it was just a small misunderstanding and easily swept under the rug.

When they are ushered into the lawyers office, Andrea greets the lawyer.
Hello, thank you for agreeing to see us on this matter.

"You have a persuasive friend in Gerald." The lawyer states with her back turned to you. "I don't see just any commoner." She turns and looks at the two visitors, "I, for one, thought your last work was lacking of much bardic talent - Mr. Bessate. Frankly, that play stunk but who am I to criticize." There is a hypnotic cadence to her sultry voice.

"Now what would you like to accomplish?" directing her attention to Andrea.

Fire Resist 10 Human Cleric 6,HP 40/40,Init+5F6R4W9,Per10AC18/11/17

Oh snap! look at that avatar!

Some time ago, a..slave by the name of Orn Broken Tusk, who worked at the brothel called The Mermaid's Grotto was incarcerated by The Rack for what we assume was illegal behavior at the Grotto. Mr.Bessate and I had a friendly relationship with him and wish to speak on his behalf and come to an understanding with The Rack and Orn's employer that the penalties he has endured so far have been..sufficient in making him understand that such actions can not be tolerated, and we are willing to make any compensations needed for damages caused and time spent on this matter.

I understand that this is a rather unusual request, but we firmly believe in second chances and extending such offers to those who lack the avenues to achieve them.

A couple hours later, Truk and Lucrezia emerge from the bedroom sweaty and disheveled but content and relaxed.

"I hope you learned something", the big orc said as he cupped the ranger's backside with a massive paw one last time.

"Well getting a person away from the Rack can be...expensive. Guilt, only increases the difficulty, especially if the employer seeks Justice for his slave's misbehavior." She pauses to let the words sink in. She eventually continues, "So you would like me to get the save freed from his crimes and returned to his owner?" Her left brow rises suspiciously.

Well, I believe that returning to his owner would perhaps cause difficulties due to the breach of trust and contract. If Orn wants to return to the Grotto that is his wish. Although perhaps having ownership transferred to myself and Basette would be more agreeable to all parties involved. We would be sure to keep a firm hand on Orn so there are no further incidents.

Evil GM

When you pull the a couple books away, the sound is much louder, and it is snoring mixed with a little bit of sleep talking, which is coming from under book that is propped up like an "A" between two shelves. The book cover reads: "The Joy of Angels: A Pictorial Guide to Nirvana"
